Second visit here trying the tasting menu once again, absolutely phenomenal food and service to go with it. The attention to detail when presenting each dish alongside the personal touches especially when celebrating an occasion goes a long way. A very intimate dining experience in exquisite surroundings.

Exceptional lunch. I don’t often give 5 stars; I would give Hammer & Pincers 6. Some truly original flavours and dishes, with attention to detail and fantastic service. Without being stuffy and pretentious. It was a special occasion for our visit and they made it so. A gem in Leicestershire 💎

This was our second visit for the tasting menu, and once again, we were absolutely blown away. Each dish was executed with perfect precision—the flavors, seasoning, and textures all came together beautifully. The menu was thoughtfully crafted, flowing seamlessly from one course to the next with not a single misstep. The staff here truly elevate the experience. They’re warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, striking the ideal balance between professionalism and friendliness. We felt well looked after and appreciated the team’s attention to detail. If you’re considering dining here, I can’t recommend it highly enough. This place is a gem, and we look forward to returning again and again.

This a lovely place for well made local sourced top end food. Never had a bad meal and been many times. The changing seasonal menu is well put together and soooo tasty. Would recommend for a special occasion or the need for a well cooked meal with lovely friendly staff.

My husband and I were warmly welcomed by front of house for our anniversary celebration. We took canapés and cocktails in the garden, which is a lovely space. From being seated at the table to the end of our dinning experience, all of the staff were amazingly attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu and wines. All courses were introduced by the chefs and absolutely stunning , the little attentions to detail acknowledging our anniversary were greatly appreciated. We will absolutely be visiting again and would highly recommend to anyone with an appreciation of fine cuisine and fabulous service.Thank you to all of the staff for making our anniversary celebration a truly memorable one.

Had lunch here yesterday. First class service and food. Comfortable ambience. Quite high prices, especially for drinks but worth every penny for a special occasion. I will be back.

Amazing experience - we went for the 7 course tasting menu and from start to finish we loved every dish. We were there for 4 hours and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. Thoroughly recommended.

What a fantastic Christmas Eve lunch we had today! The set lunch menu was not big BUT there was enough to satisfy the four of us! I ordered Crayfish & Salmon which looked so lovely I didn't want to eat it. My husband's Porcini soup was delicious and presented initially with the garnishes then topped afterwards with the soup from a jug! It was wonderful! Main courses were equally tasty and impressive. I had Hake which was cooked really well and the accompanied vegs all complimented it fabulously! Husband had Beef, son had Lamb, mother in law had Pork all were fantastic. I had a taste of their Yorkshire Pudding which was fantastic too. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

This place is hands down my family's favourite place to go in the area. We especially love the lunch menu which is such great value that even my somewhat tight brother will pay occasionally! The service is always good and the owners are really friendly. Food stand-outs - the parfait is delicious. It comes with walnut bread which is really yummy. The fish and chips is AMAZING - exactly what fish and chips should be: super crispy batter with delicious melt-in-the-mouth fish inside. Love the chunkly chips, especially with mayonnaise. The sea bass is also really good. Finally dessert is yummy too - I particularly like the sponge pudding which they were nice enough to give me with custard and icecream! Seriously go hungry - you will want 3 courses - especially for only 20 quid!

More a restaurant than a pub; regardless it is a great find. Great service, interesting, creative and tasty food with a lovely atmosphere. A little on the pricey side but worth it!!
