We had a fantastic evening, with great service. The staff were the right amount of attentive without being intrusive, they were very knowledgeable about the dishes and had a great level of humour. The food was delicious, we treated ourselves and did the 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and it didn’t disappoint. Beyond this they catered for my allergens, which was much appreciated. The atmosphere was relaxing, intimate and cosy, we felt comfortable all night.. I’ll definitely return, as I’m wanting to try their beef wellington night next!

Absolutely amazing yet again. Booked for my wife’s birthday and proved yet again the best in the business. Food is first class. Served with knowledge and perfect presentation. A signed happy birthday menu was a great touch. Recommend to all my friends. Amazing.

Lovely restaurant, fantastic food, friendly and attentive service. Menu is brief, so if you're a bit weird like me check what's in the dishes - for example mushroom and artichoke tartlet had the significant surprise of a ducks egg - it probably made the dish, but I wouldn't have chosen it if I knew. But let me reiterate, the food was excellent. We didn't use the hotel rooms.

I had the taster menu with my son and friends to celebrate his GCSE results. The staff were fantastic explaining every course and the food was delicious! Definitely worth visiting for the menu.

We came for the 7 course grazing menu with wine pairings for a birthday celebration. The food was absolutely incredible and an amazing way to try new foods. There was plenty of food, we couldn’t believe the food just kept on coming. The service is what stood out to is, John and Troy were especially great. They really make the experience something special. John is a great and everything you would want in a host. They even gave us a little birthday dessert to take home with us. I cannot recommend this place enough, you have to visit.

What a fantastic Christmas Eve lunch we had today! The set lunch menu was not big BUT there was enough to satisfy the four of us! I ordered Crayfish & Salmon which looked so lovely I didn't want to eat it. My husband's Porcini soup was delicious and presented initially with the garnishes then topped afterwards with the soup from a jug! It was wonderful! Main courses were equally tasty and impressive. I had Hake which was cooked really well and the accompanied vegs all complimented it fabulously! Husband had Beef, son had Lamb, mother in law had Pork all were fantastic. I had a taste of their Yorkshire Pudding which was fantastic too. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

This place is hands down my family's favourite place to go in the area. We especially love the lunch menu which is such great value that even my somewhat tight brother will pay occasionally! The service is always good and the owners are really friendly. Food stand-outs - the parfait is delicious. It comes with walnut bread which is really yummy. The fish and chips is AMAZING - exactly what fish and chips should be: super crispy batter with delicious melt-in-the-mouth fish inside. Love the chunkly chips, especially with mayonnaise. The sea bass is also really good. Finally dessert is yummy too - I particularly like the sponge pudding which they were nice enough to give me with custard and icecream! Seriously go hungry - you will want 3 courses - especially for only 20 quid!

More a restaurant than a pub; regardless it is a great find. Great service, interesting, creative and tasty food with a lovely atmosphere. A little on the pricey side but worth it!!
