As a huge fan of the Food Network show "Unwrapped", I had to make a visit to Hammond's! The tour, tour guide, candy selection, and kindness of the staff were truly spectacular. Ronnie is an absolute angel of a person, and made me feel so welcomed! I would highly recommend their free tours and their delicious candy! 🍭🍬🍫

Google
Cute free tour! Started with a video on the history of Hammond’s Candies, followed by a look at some of the factory rooms. Whole tour was around 20 minutes and even ended with some free candy. The store itself offers everything you could want in terms of treats and gifts. Nothing on Hammond’s but: Parents, please control your kids. Our poor tour guide had to deal with a screaming toddler running around and hitting people while the parents sat there and laughed (they even FILMED IT instead of disciplining). The guide even asked the child to not touch certain things and the parents again just stood there and did nothing, absolutely ridiculous. Totally distracted from the tour, couldn’t hear the guide half the time. Literally how hard is it to watch your kids.

Came here on a snowy slushy day for a tour. Due to the slowdown getting there, when I asked the staff they let us join the last tour. The informational video before the tour was actually pretty entertaining. Didn’t get to see as much since it was the last tour of the day, but it was really neat seeing some candy canes being worked on. The shop worked its magic on me and I got several candies plus a cutesy pen. Definitely recommend checking this out whether you’re someone who lives here or visiting.

With out-of-town guests in search of last-minute gifts, we decided to stop by the Hammond Candy Factory store. Though we didn’t have time for the tour, the visit was still an enjoyable and unique experience, even for those who aren’t avid candy lovers. The store truly offers something for everyone, from a vibrant jellybean wall and gourmet popcorn selections to an enticing chocolate counter. The bright, cheerful, and welcoming atmosphere made the visit all the more enjoyable. Despite arriving during the last hour of business, when staff were likely still recovering from the busy holiday season, we were greeted warmly and received friendly assistance at the jellybean wall and chocolate counter. Our guests were thrilled to find the specific Hammond candy they’d been searching for, and the trip was a success. It had been years since my last visit, and I was delighted to find the experience even better than I remembered. Hammond Candy Factory is now firmly on my list of must-visit spots for out-of-town guests—a fun indoor activity with the added bonus of delicious treats and a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour to explore next time.

Signed up for the free tour as my sisters were visiting for the week and it ended up being a fun quick experience especially since it was freezing cold outside. The tour itself is simple and, since we were there on a Saturday, there wasn't a lot of activity going on. The intro video was very interesting and informative and the tour guide was also knowledgeable. We spent the most time shopping in their retail store which was quite enjoyable. Who would have thought you could spend so much money on sugar? Staff was friendly and there quite a few tours going on. We were late for our tour but they easily fit us into the next one. If you need something fun and different to do recommend this, location is easy to find and there was plenty of parking (maybe bc it was so cold out).

Google
First Timers. My kids and I did the tour. The tour and the guide were great. It was a great experience during spring break. Great selection of candies. However, I didn’t like how my kids and I were greeted by the check in lady for the tour. There are two entrances the candy shop and tour side. I didn’t check in correctly for the tour and she wasn’t friendly about it. Was a-little embarrassed in front of others. So make sure to check in on the candy shop side and not the tour side.

Google
Welcome to heaven on earth! This candy shop has been authentically hand making their candy since 1920! I was in awe during my entire tour of their operation! Who could imagine, using the same 100 year old machines they used when they started! Not to mention the quality control to guarantee that every bite is phenomenal! Would highly recommend going on this FREE tour! It’s a no brainer! Very kid friendly , my kids had a blast! Watching the delicious candy we eat every holiday being made was UNREAL! Every Christmas my sons each get a stocking full of these delicious delights so imagine our surprise when we were able to watch them make our Christmas goodies! At the end of the tour we got the reject candy canes but even these look as good as the ones in the shop! Definitely broke the bank in the storefront after because we stocked up for the rest of the year, the prices are super fair!

We decided to stop in on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, we were too late for the tour. But we were glad we stopped because they recommended we have advance reservations. So we scheduled time for the next day. We bought some treats that were reduced in price and then came back the next day for the tour. I’d say the tour runs 20-30 minutes, beginning with a 10-minute video. Since it was a Saturday, there weren’t as many people working, but we were still able to watch a number of workers making various candies. At the end of the tour, we received a free full-size candy cane. I don’t know if they give out the same flavor after every tour, but ours were cherry. So it’s a free tour with a free treat at the end! The tour ends back in the gift shop. We decided to buy more treats, particularly from the “oops” section in the one corner. We also found some discounted items in the hallway between the gift shop and where the tour starts. Of course, we couldn’t leave without buying some chocolate. So, yes, it’s a free tour, but be prepared to spend some money on additional candy. The staff were super friendly and remembered us when we came back the next day. I was impressed by their service. As for getting there, when we first went, I thought Google maps was taking us to the wrong place, but it was correct. The building sits off the road behind several other buildings, so just watch the directions on where to turn. At least one entrance had a sign, but it was small. There’s lots of free parking around the factory. Enjoy the factory, but be prepared to leave with a lighter wallet and maybe a larger waistline.

Yelp
What a great little candy shop venture if you happen to be in Denver, CO. We booked our tour online but today you could have shown up and been fine. We arrived a bit after 1 pm for a 1:15 PM tour. They announce the tour start over the loud speaker. The tour is about 30 minutes long. We got lucky and saw how the huge vat of candy is poured out and flavors added. We also saw the candy get pulled. A nice lady in packaging made hearts with her candy canes and came to the window with a huge smile and wave. We received a large candy cane at the end of the tour. We made our purchase and was out of the shop by 2 pm. It was a great experience and totally free.

Yelp
I love the licorice hard candies. I have one a day. I purchased 4 cute cans of them and sorry I didn't buy more. Service was helpful. The place is cute & clean.

Yelp
The tour of the factory is tiny and fast. Candy sold in the store at the end of the tour is not all made there. They also didn't have all items we hoped to get. Wouldn't make a detour to stop there but if you're in the area and have 45 minutes to spare it's something to do!

Yelp
First of all the candy is delicious! I saw old fashioned candy my mom always put out for Christmas. The chocolates are wonderful! We took a tour and it was fun to learn how they make their candy and the history of the business. The store is filled to the brink with all sorts of delicious goodies. We got right in on our tour and It was a friendly and fun atmosphere. Our tour guide was informed and funny in her presentation.
google avatar

Yelp
The factory tour (FREE!) was really neat. It was fun to watch their staff make the candy by hand. The store offers a wide variety of treats in all price ranges. A great stop for candy fans of all ages.

Yelp
It's so nice to know that a free factory tour still exists! I've been here before but never with the 2 and 4 year olds. The tour starts with a 10 minute video that gives the history of the candy founder and an overview of how everything is still handmade by the 300 employees. Then there's a walk through the viewing areas overlooking the factory. The whole process is very interesting and the tour was short enough to keep the littles entertained. At the end, each person gets a giant candy cane as a sample and the tour let's out into the store. There's a fudge/chocolate counter where our guide, Erik, boxed up our purchases. Then we browsed the store and found so much more we couldn't live without. The staff was friendly and we all had a good time. Tip: The tours are by reservation only but they have so many time slots each day. Make a reservation on their website.

Yelp
Love it. I like begin my review by giving the tip about the visit. First thing to do is make appointment of the visit to see the availability of the tour. During the visit, you can look at their oops and sale candy. Oops candy are the candy are the candy that make incorrectly or edge of candy. They are good price. The tour takes about 45 minutes. You will enjoy the history of the candy factory and sample one candy cane. It is interesting to see how the candy made. The tour end in the sale store. I got some taffy strips and oops candy. Those are affordable candy.

Yelp
I was not aware Hammond's was so close to home. I actually received a few samples in a recent large Yelp event at the Stanley Marketplace and really loved their chocolate covered biscuit/biscotti and their lemon cake... decided to look them up and realized they offer free tours on site. It's really nice to see that this candy place has been a Denver staple for so many years and will def be on the top of my list when I'm looking for local treats to bring friends. I remember getting a gift box from work that was shipped to me from California and one of the items inside was Hammond's caramel. LOL! The tour was fantastic and we got to see how the candy was completely hand made. The gentleman that guided us through the tour was pretty funny and he helped me ran all over the store to find the lemon cakes as they had very limited stock. I got some of their strawberry marshmallow and they were so soft and tasty. Not too sweet! Highly recommend you to come and check them out. Support local family owned business!
google avatar

Yelp
I love candy and mom and pop vibes and this has both. The caramel marshmallow is on my vice list and the lollipops are delish. Fun for field trips w the kids. Or by yourself.

Yelp
What's not to love about this place? We signed up for the 1st tour of the day and were pleasantly pleased with every minute we were here. The tour is barely 30 mins and our guide was very informative. The kids loved their step stool along most of the windows and peeking at these hardworking confectioners. Sign up for a free tour and enjoy a free sweet treat at the end! Wasn't expecting anything at the end of a free tour, so that was nice. The shop has plenty of sweet options at all sorts of price points. We even walked out with a delicious bag of choc chip cookies for a dime! Yes, $0.10! Wow - we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
What a fun experience! We goofed booking our tour showed up a day early. But they were still able to let us take a tour. Michelle was a great tour guide and taught us so much about the candy making process. It was really fun to the process. They were making lots of candy canes during our visit. My son really loved that he got a hand full of samples at the end and then of course we had to buy a few more goodies from the store. I love that they have an "oops" area. Can't wait to dig into all of our treats.
google avatar

Gretel V.

Yelp
Fun tour that shows and explains how many of our favorite candies and treats get made, packaged, stored. Even though one of the monitors to the popcorn room was out of order today we still had a wonderful experience with the tour. Glad we stopped by. Our tour guide was great

Bridget H.

Yelp
The only reason they lose a star is the tour staff were incredibly rude. When my family was in town and they asked a question the guide responded annoyed with, "as I stated earlier" making us feel like an annoyance. It felt rude and disrespectful as I had family from out of town to come here. I also think the candy at the end of the tour could've been something better than a broken peppermint candy cane. The candy is great! I wish staff were nicer.
google avatar

Sara N.

Yelp
We took the troop for the free tour and they seemed to love it. There wasn't a lot going on because it's the slow season but they were still making candy they could watch. Trying to corral 1 girls in a candy shop was not easy and it seemed like a lot of the products aren't even made there , but made elsewhere and sold in the store. So IMHO, that was kind of a let down. The movie was interestingly and the tour guide was knowledgeable, but there wasn't a whole lot going on overall.

Yelp
Every single visit is super fun! I love bringing out of towners to tour Hammond's and see a piece of Denver history. And the tours are free, the cherry on top! I stopped in to pick up a few candy bars for the holidays and was warmly greeted by staff who made the shopping experience incredibly unique staying open a little later for me. I'm beyond appreciative of their time and consideration. Last year we brought my nephew as a surprise birthday gift and literally gave him the 'kid in a candy store' experience - unlike any other birthday gift he's received. Plus the staff continued to shower him with birthday wishes and candy canes! Not sure it gets much better than this. Thank you all for your continuing kindness!

Yelp
We were in Denver for a few days and looking for fun kid's activities. I read about the free tour at Hammond's candies and we gave it a try. Parking was super easy and we showed up at our reserved time. We watched a video, which was a little hard to hold her attention for very long. Then we visited two different areas to watch candy being made the old-fashioned way. The tour ended with a huge candy cane made in Hammond's Candies. My stepdaughter's favorite part was the enormous candy store at the end of the tour and we picked out a few treats for the family. Such a cute place and it was free! I'd recommend it if you're looking to fill a little time.

Diane S.

Yelp
There is new ownership of Hammond's Candies, the store is terrible and the vibe has completely changed, They raised all the pricing and said something about canceling the tours. It is Sad that the new CEO is ruining a Denver staple, I overheard the new women CEO say that she did care for Hammonds that she planned to change it to a lolli & pops store, that is the worst retail store overpriced and pretentious. Not sure why they would want to change such a cute old school store. I would stay away from Hammonds Candies.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
We took our kiddo to the free tour of the factory and had a great time. I found it through Cheap or Free Denver website for something to do during winter break. Hammonds has been around since 1920 and is sold all over the country. It's short at 30 minutes and keeps your attention at any age with lots of live candy making behind the glass windows of their factory. The best part is at the end when you can roam around their candy store. Many deeply discounted "oops" products that didn't pass the visual test but are delish! Hammonds makes high quality candy and sweets and we were so pleased we made the drive. Don't miss it!

Yelp
After spotting (and enjoying) Hammond's chocolate candy bars by the registers of airport gift shop cash registers in the Denver airport, I decided it was high time to check this place out during my recent visit to Denver. If you're looking for something unique to do while you're in Denver, a visit to the Hammond's Candies factory - where they're still whipping up old-school candy the old-fashioned way - is just what the doctor ordered. Before you visit, make sure to book a ticket to do the 30-minute factory tour (where you'll receive a piece of candy at the end). The tour is free, but due to space, ticket reservations are required. The tour starts with a short documentary before a guide then walks you through to see various type of candy being concocted in the kitchen, the process behind making that candy, and finally the packing a wrapping area. This was my first candy factory visit and it was very interested to see some of the favorites I've grown up with (like a candy cane) being made. Our visit ended in the gift shop where I spent waaaay too much on candy, but when it's as tasty and high quality as Hammond's, you can't go wrong.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
I'm pretty surprised to read such glowing reviews about the tour at Hammond's. It was very mediocre. The opening 10 minute video was too long. The tour guide was too quiet and spoke very quickly. It was hard to retain what he was saying. There were only 2 rooms to observe. 75% of the candy in the store wasn't even made at the factory. And the candy we saw being made wasn't in stock. The store was very crowded too so strolling through it was not pleasant. I was super excited for a funny, engaging tour and this just wasn't it.

Yelp
07-05-2022 I can't recall how I found out about this place, but I'm so glad I did! Factory tours, especially candy tours, are awesome! Did you know that Hammond's Candies makes Christmas Candy Canes for Target under the WonderShop name? I saw lots of boxes here labeled for Target! The tour & parking is free! There's ample parking for the tour groups of 45 people. I was so happy that the day I went, there were maybe 15 of us. A nice small group! It's important to reserve your spot prior to showing up since the tour could be full when you hope to go. You can either call them or go to their website to reserve your date and time. Each tour lasts about 30 minutes. Each of us got a Candy Cane as we exited the tour. In the shop is where you'll check-in for your tour. Then, when called, they will escort you to the little theater for a 10 minute video presentation. Then the guide tells you what the staff are working on. Every piece of candy is made by hand and packaged and labeled by hand! They make Candy Canes, Chocolates, Chocolate Bars, Lolliipops, Brittle, Piggybacks (similar to Turtles), and so much more! You can buy "Oops" candies at a discounted price. They also have sales on various things. I bought a little Ribbon Candy, it is larger, but looks the same as my Grandmother used to keep in the candy jar at Christmas! I also got some Licorice (not for me!) & some Ginger Hard Drop Candies. I regretted not trying any of their chocolates. I happened to see some Hammond Chocolate Bars at a local grocery store and picked up a Pigs N Taters - it was so good! Savory & sweet together! You have Milk Chocolate with Potato Chips & Bacon Flavored Bits. I would get this one again! If I go back, I need to try a "Mitchell Sweet". It's a bite-sized, soft marshmallow confection surrounded by caramel. Sounds really good! Yelp
I took my 2 year old in the free tour last week and we had such a fun time. It was very easy to make our reservation online and the factory was easy to find, with plenty of free parking. Our tour guide was very nice and full of information. It was really cool to see how the candy is made and to learn the history- I had no idea that it they put all of the attention into it that they do or that the whole process is still mainly done by hand! At the end of the tour we were each give a slightly broken candy cane. My son got a birthday cake flavored one, and while I was initially suspicious of the flavor, I have to say it was delicious. Of course you exit the tour through the candy shop, and since I learned on the tour that they sell their slightly imperfect candies at a discount, we stocked up on the oopsies. They're just for us abs they taste great. At 2, my son may have been a little young for the tour, and there was a bit of whining while we were on it. However, he's been playing a new game called "candy factory " every day and has enlisted his massive collection of dinosaurs as his candy makers, so I imagine we'll be doing another tour before too long!

Yelp
This is a really cute and fun little tour! I will probably go again at some point. Funny thing is that I don't eat a lot of candy. It's still cool to look at all the stuff and shop in the store! Go online to book a spot. Pro tip: you definitely want to grab food from the diner that's right over there (Red Rooster Cafe) and you can walk to Hammond's from the diner, no need to move your car. Check their open times if you should go before or after your tour. They give you a cheesy little hat and you do get to see the process of making candy. So much sugarrrrrr!!! The store at the end had some really interesting stuff inside! Check my pics. Also, find the clearance section, it's one small spot but you can snag some good deals as a lot of the stuff is pricey! But, it's quality!! It's a free tour at Hammond's and the diner nearby is not only inexpensive, you get a LOT of food, and the staff is as sweet as the candy at Hammond's. Great way to spend an afternoon and have something different to do! Bring the kids, the adults, friends visiting! It's for everyone.

Yelp
Food, sweet. Service - average Ambiance, stuffy at times. Although knowledgeable. Nostalgic vibes!

Yelp
Hammond's makes alot of great quality candies. I wasn't able to visit the actual store . But I did order some chocolate bars from Hammond's just recently. The chocolate bars were amazing, especially the banana crunch. Even though the banana crunch was my favorite. The other candy bars were good as well, and was made with good quality chocolate. Hammond's also makes marshmallows, hard candies, popcorn, and gift packages. I will be ordering the marshmallows next and a couple if hard candies.

Yelp
My family absolutely LOVED our visit to Hammond's Candies. We loved that it was easy to schedule online in advance (great for planners!), FREE, short but engaging, started with a great (very funny!) video, and ended with adorable photo opportunities. We arrived on time for our tour. Hint--hang back when you go into the room for the intro video. The people that enter first are asked to get up out of their seats and make room for the people that enter last. Those that enter the room last get the best seats. The tour is along windows just outside of the factory, and you get to see alot of employees hand making candy, which is fascinating. It's about 30 minutes and goes by quickly. I felt a tad bad for them, they must feel like zoo animals, but I guess they know that going in. I hope that they are paid more for that inconvenience. We got a candy cane sample at the end that was huge and free as well. We shopped in the gift shop and picked up a few more, and got our pressed pennies. The kids got adorable "Hammonds" paper hats that made for cute photos. It was a leisurely, stress free enjoyable morning. So glad I added this to our trip itinerary! Hint--bring a small (even soft sided) cooler with ice, because you will want to buy some of the creative chocolate bars (potato chips and bacon chocolate bar anyone? "Pigs and Taters") and you will want to store them in your car where they won't promptly melt.

Yelp
I took my daughter's Girl Scout troop for a tour here and the girls loved it. The tour starts with a video that was entertaining for a bunch of first graders, which is saying a lot. Afterwards you get to go in the back to view the production room, and watching the candy canes get stretched out and shaped was super fun. They all got a free treat at the end as well. After the tour you end up in the shop, and I think every family left with something. They have lots of options besides candy canes: marshmallows, lollipops, chocolate bars, etc. Highly recommend the experience.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
It's a fun stop and a completely FREE tour! The quick 30 minute tour begins with a 10 minute video on the history of the company. Then we went into the production area where we saw candy canes being made and hot chocolate sticks being packaged. There wasn't a lot to see, but it was fun and interesting to watch. At the end of the tour, we were given free peppermint candy canes. (These were most likely ones that were not sold last year.) We were warned that they may have imperfections, such as cracks, but the one I received was in good condition. I felt like this was a very generous sample, compared to the dinky ones that mall Santas usually gives out around the holidays.

Yelp
Always fun to come and a great place to bring people who visit Denver. The tour is amazing and watching them make candy is so cool. Make sure you check the clearance corner for great prices and great candy

Yelp
A Colorado tradition, Hammond's Candy knows how to treat the kid in all of us. Going back to 1920, Hammond's is known for the huge swirled lollies, the ribbon candy and the best candy cane ever to be twisted. We came to celebrate Valentine's Eve with a tour (free) and some sugarlicious candy shopping. Due to Cov19 mandates, tour sizes are very limited and of course very popular amongst families. Go to their website to make a reservation for your Party. The tour was about 30min, which included a very informative 10min video and a walk thru to observe the candy makers doing what they do best.....twist sugar in all it's glory! We even got a free treat after the tour. Then there's the store...OMGoodness so many awesome choices, some in which you can only purchase at their store. We bought two baskets full of fine confections but so worth it. Parking is available directly out front of their store. Masks required at all times. Store shopping is capacity limited and well monitored. The staff are all wearing masks, hand sanitizer is available and of course social distancing enforced. Add Hammond's Factory Tour on your list of things to do during the "Covid Cold Months". Happy 100th Hammond's!!!

Yelp
Colorful streams of Ribbon Candy and beautifully crafted Lollipop Bundles are what I've always associated with Hammond's. They've been my favorite maker of "fancy" hard candy for as long as I can remember. So, when I stumbled upon their Hot Chocolate Dunking Spoon at Nordstrom's, I snagged them with hopes of using them for a special occasion. You can't go wrong with anything from Hammond's. Fast forward two months later, I just used these fun and delicious chocolate Dunking Spoons last night for a romantic NYE holiday date night-in I created for my incredible Hubby. We sat by the fire and had so much fun dunking these chocolate "spoons" on-a-stick into our marshmallow-filled hot chocolates. We liked that the chocolate squares didn't instantly dissolve, but softened just enough so we could enjoy liking the softened warm chocolate off the "spoon". The tiny specks of peppermint pieces are a nice adder too. These Dunking Spoons are definitely fun and add an extra nice touch to hot chocolate. I'll be on the hunt again for these next year again!

Yelp
Looking for something unique to do in Denver? Look no further than the free Hammond's Candies Factory tour. It's about 30 minutes long and you get a piece of free candy at the end. It's pretty cool to see the workers in action and to learn all of the neat facts about candy-making. As with any tour, you end up in the gift shop and leave spending $$$ on candy. Cool experience nonetheless!

Yelp
Went here with a field trip and had so much fun! The candy choices are huge and everything is made right there and it's so cool to watch! I loved the oops candy too!

Yelp
Our first trip to denver with the kids and we were looking for something quick to do in the morning after we arrived. I looked up Tripadvisor and Hammonds came up a bunch of times. Turns out you can book a timeslot online and do a tour of this candy factory that still churns out everything by hand. Boy was this a gem of a find! As a kid I always loved candy, seeing taffy being pulled on the boardwalk of Santa Monica was always a highlight. Check-in Process: You check-in with the front desk and go check out their great candy shop store.. The Tour started right on time, they sit in the room and you watch a 5-10 min video on the history of hammonds. Then they walk you into the factory, this was no cheesy little tour. A guide came out and explained the process of creating the candy of the day. Ours was taffy and she walked us through the process of pulling and stretching the taffy. We were able to see a good 20 minutes of the candy process right before our eyes. A really unique and fun experience. Then you are walked into the packaging section and WOW this is all done by hand as well, completely amazing to see all the workers doing this. At the end of the tour we were given a chocolate filled candy cane which was awesome! Candy Shop: All the candy is obviously made by Hammonds its very reasonable considering you are in the factory. We were able to get multiple candy bars and sweets for around $20.00 Pricing: Completely FREE! Overall: This is a must see if you are in Denver, the candy is great, the people are great the experience is unique check it out!

Yelp
I love supporting local businesses. I always look for things like candy shops to distilleries and local food products in the area. Well found Hammonds which is a bigger production plant that sell to lots of familiar stores. Candy canes are their known along with chocolate bars. Took a quick free tour since there, why not. While it was only 2 of us it was fun and informative. Got to see how things are made 1st hand. At end of tour couple of "broken" treats for use to try. I do like their motto, if theirs left overs in the candy making or cut too short it gets thrown back and melted again. If packaged and damaged hey we getting samples! Outside of tour in the store lots of their candies can be bought. I had to get a bunch of their chocolate bars since they known for weird combos like chicken and waffle, coconut cream, piggies with bacon, to all your favorite flavors Anytime I'm back in the area I'll be back here for crazy candy bars to take back to friends and family

Yelp
I found out about this free tour online and was able to easily book spots for my husband and I. We arrived 15 minutes early which gave us time to check out their store and try a truffle. I tried the Sea Salt Caramel. It was delicious. There were two other families on our tour which made it perfect for social distancing. The tour was informative and interesting. It was amazing watching the employees make different types of candy. After the end, each of us was given a candy cane and a chocolate turtle. After the tour, my husband and I spent a lot of time in their store looking at all the different types of candy. There were so many to choose from! My favorites were the Mitchell's Sweet, a marshmallow wrapped in caramel, the banana taffy, and the cookie butter candy cane. We bought plenty so we would have sweets treats for our travels through Colorado. While you are there, don't forget to stop by the OOPS area which has discounted candy. Also, when we were checking out, we got a 15% discount because we followed them on Instagram. I'm glad I followed them because a week later they had a Christmas in July sale.

Yelp
After seeing Hammond's candy around local Denver shops, I was excited to finally make a trip to the factory in-person. Hooray!!! Cue inner Charlie and the Chocolate Factory moment! The shop is a little odd to find (at least for me)- but if you follow your GPS and signage, you should be fine. It's situated in the back of an industrial center, with an unmistakable jolly, red man (Santa!) hanging from the roof. Their candy canes are incredibly high-quality. We got a few handfuls of peppermint (shhh- I know what everyone is getting with their Christmas gift!), some popcorn, and vanilla marshmallows. Pro tip- put the jumbo marshmallow in a hot cup of cocoa for the ultimate hot chocolate.

Yelp
I love local businesses and candy so Hammond's is best of both worlds! The tour is so informative about how much work and care goes into their handmade candies. Seeing it in person is even more amazing! Every time I take this tour, I wonder if they have openings lol Their store is such a treat! They have all their goodies and in the "Oops room," you can find their opps candies at a discounted price - they taste the same, but they just don't look up to par. Great! I'll take it!! If you're in the area, definitely do the tour!!

Yelp
Hammonds Candies was a great stop on our family vacation to the Denver area. We called the day-of in hopes of jumping in a free tour (the online free ticket system was super easy but you had to make those at least a day in advance) & the staff was friendly, fast and accommodating. My whole family enjoyed the quick tour video followed by viewing the candy making & packaging process. The whole tour was quick, fun and informative. We received some free candy at the conclusion of the tour & an opportunity to peruse their well-stocked store. Everyone we encountered was overly-friendly & enthusiastic. Love me some free factory tours!! I highly recommend.

Yelp
We came here to try the free tour. The tour video was interesting but the tour itself was lackluster (you watch the workers work but nothing else). They gave us a free "oops" candy at the end, which was nice. We enjoyed shopping in the store where they sold many discounted items due to them being slightly "oops." I actually like their chocolate bars and caramels the best even though they are known for their candy.

Yelp
Took the candy tour with my husband! Trying to burn time before our flight back home and this was perfect, Near the airport and Rocky Mountain arsenal National park-awesome drive Tour is free, booking required. Short and somewhat informative Not as long as I was expecting but it is free and you get to take home a free piece of candy-before stopping in the gift shop and stacking up A good experience

Yelp
The Hammond's Candy Factory was a great place for a quick, fun stop while in Denver. We did the tour, which started with a movie that tells the history of the brand. After the movie, we did a small tour of the factory. The tour was pretty quick, but was informative. After the tour, you are led to the candy store. They have lots of Hammonds brands, but other brands are there as well. Overall, it was a fun thing to do if you love sweets.

Yelp
Great tour!! Definitely stop by here if you have kiddos - it's a real treat. You can smell all the sugary goodness from the outside. The tour is about 30 min and totally free! Starts off with a lovely short 10min video about Hammonds and how it started. Then they take you to the production floor where you can actually see cooks making the hard candies (twirling, cutting, kneading, everything!!!) You can literally see everything happening - there are several TV screens which our tour guide flipped through different cameras in the building to see aerial views of staff working and explaining what's going on. It was quite fun to watch. Then of course at the end there is a free candy cane! Their store is cute and significantly marked down than retail spaces. They have a OOPS corners with candies that are good but broken (v. cheap). There are free stickers near the cash register. I sampled some of their chocolates and they were pretty great!! I really loved my visit and glad I could see it

Yelp
candy is cheaper then expected, but still great quality! the tour was a bit disappointing because you're watching it through a tv and behind glass like a zoo exhibit, but you do get free candy at the end. they have a wide variety of candy in the store and again, it's cheaper than i thought for being handmade. i bought a bag of marshmallows for $1 because of a sale which was nice. 8/10

Yelp
My daughters and I were in Denver for a softball tournament and we had the chance to try a few places. My favorite stop in Denver was Hammond's! My daughter went to a hitting facility nearby with her team and so my 10 year old and I had a little while to kill. Hammond's was nearby, so we stopped by. I asked the front counter about the free candy tours and he said to go around the front to ask if there are any openings because you have to make an appointment. The lady said if someone does not show up, we could join the tour. As we waited for the tour to start, my daughter and I looked around the candy shop. She was looking at the commercialized candy and didn't pay much mind to the local Hammond's brand. I told her after the tour we can pick out some candy. As the tour time was about to begin, I went back to see if there were any openings, and there were! The tour starts in a mini theatre type and they show you a movie. It was cute an informative. Then, the candy tour is guided to the factory where you get to watch people make candy. The guide was very useful and she answered everyone's questions. You then move towards the back where there are more areas to view candy making. The guide also directs you to the cameras where you can view people making candy. At the end, you get a free homemade candy cane. Once you leave, you are right back in the candy store. After the adorable tour, my daughter put back all of the commercialized candy and only chose Hammonds brand candy. It was so cute to see the selection switch after the tour. The tour was about 30 minutes total. Everyone was crazy kind and nice. It was literally such a sweet experience and I would absolutely recommend this place to any person of any age!

Yelp
This is such an awesome FREE thing to do in Denver! They offer tours every 30 minutes of the factory and it's totally free. At the end of the tour, they even gave each of us a full size candy cane! You can also get a paper hat too. The tour itself began with a 10 minute video explaining the history of Hammond's candies, then we got to move into the back to see how some of the candies are made. During the tour they have TV monitors so you won't miss what the tour guide is explaining. The tour was well organized and efficient. The tour itself is very short, but super informative and interesting. At the end you get to shop in their retail store! They even have an "oops" section where the candies are cheaper. There's also plenty of parking! They have a vintage Hammond's Candies factory car up front outside the factory that you can take a picture of afterwards as well :)

Yelp
Not sure why Hammond's Candies sent their rudest people to represent their brand at one of the most prestigious food events in the world. I attended the Fancy Food Show in New York City last week. I was shocked to discover that they sent the worst people to represent their brand. This post is not to disparage the taste quality of the brand. The products are very good. I have purchased from them for several years. However, if the candy is good, but the service and people are horrible, I am no longer inclined to continue purchasing from them.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE. If you are in the area, make the time to visit this factory! Such a great tour! Very informative and they have people working on the weekend so you can really see how the candy is made. We got to see them pulling and making pops. The people are really nice and you can tell they like/love their jobs! And you get some free candy at the end! There is a back corner with stuff on sale. They have "MYSTERY BAGS" for $5.00. Get one. There is different stuff each time, but a great deal! We got one valued at around $25. TIP: Call if you plan on going the same day. Otherwise, online reservations are a breeze!
