Great experience shopping and catching a delicious lunch! The husband and wife team are amazingly hospitable to their guests. We are so happy to take a step towards buying better quality meets and supporting another meaningful local business!

Amazing!!! We have never been here before I always thought it was just a butcher shop but my husband heard their burgers were the best. Great atmosphere & decor. We both tried the Smash burger with fries. Sooooo good. The meat had great flavor & cooked to perfection. The seasoned fries also were delicious and nice & crispy. Great service at the counter & from the back. They offer other food items that we plan to try at our next visit……soon!

Smash Burger absolutely delivered! This spot was *exactly* what I was craving for lunch. I stumbled across it on Instagram, and the visuals did not disappoint in real life. Juicy, flavorful patties with the perfect sear, soft buns that hold it all together, and toppings that hit just right. The quality? Next level. Add in friendly service and a chill, welcoming vibe, and you’ve got a total win. 20/10—this place is a must for any burger lover.

My friend and I ate here today. We got the Smash burgers and I got fries and she got the beans. Omg, the burger was so flavorful and moist. The fries had some some type of seasoning that was delicious. And the beans have so much flavor. Hands down delicious. We will be returning.

Hamm’s consistently has a good selection of meats. Their sausages and brats are way better than anything you can find in a store. Here’s where they went above and behind though — I was searching for plate ribs (aka Dino bones), and they hadn’t gotten any for a while. So I went and talked with them. They asked for my number and said they’d find me some. Within 24 hours I had a call from them that they were available. Hard to find that kind of service these days!

Outstanding meats! Met the new owners and excited for the speciality dinner menu to come. Private events and more. Most meats here are smoked and of very high quality. Pastrami, brisket and even chicken lollipops! Tried those three. Very good.

Honestly, just walked in because I was hungry. Walked out amazed. Food was awesome. Met Noah, who shared about his craft and his approach to food and cooking. Highly recommend coming in for the food and chatting if you get a chance. Feels like community and the food is fantastic!

Stopped by for the tri-tip & brie sandwich and pimento cheese steak. Both fantastic! Don't forget to nring home some steaks pr chops to grill up for dinner.. Next time you're in downtown McKinney, stop by!

Tried the smash burger, solid burger but the hype wasn't real for me as a burger enthusiast. The house made sausage tho.. DIVINEEEEEE. I got the Philly cheese steak bratwurst, it taste nothing like Philly to me but I enjoyed whatever flavor came through. It's not a strong powerful flavor just subtle but good. Their HUGE so that's always a plus. I've called a few times, no brisket queso ever, you just have to randomly catch it as they don't make it often. I had the spicy chicken salad, that was cool. Over all everything was solid. They have a ton of other items and I will continue to work my way through until I can taste that brisket queso!!

Read the Story, Heard the Hype, so had to try it out for myself... Burger had great meat taste, but could have used some more seasoning...Just missing that oomph; if you're in the vicinity, might be a stop, but there are others that are probably just as good- Solid B Burger As for the butcher shop, pretty rich for choice meat...at their pricing for Ribeyes and Strips, you can definitely find Prime Meat

Best Burger in Texas...I kid you not! The local's are hip-to-the-skip and tipped us off about the burgers at Hamm's. We stopped in today for lunch and a nice young man named Jacob helped us. He was super helpful. We chose to split the Smash Burger and Rueben (stock) and a side of fries. The burger was juicy, a little char, double-patty, with grilled onions and melty cheese. It was the bomb. The patty melt was one of the best I've ever had too. Classic, meaty, krauty, rye goodness! The fries were thin and seasoned with their house seasoning. The portions were generous and pricing was market, nothing crazy. Given all the choices out there, make this you next lunch destination and your tasebuds will thank me.

Rd.2 This was my second visit within the last couple months. I just wanted to verify what I tasted the first time was going to be the same second time around and it didn't miss!! Great customer service and phenomenal food. If you love good quality food with nice small town ambiance this is the place for you.

THIS IS NOT JUST A MEAT MARKET! Yes, they have all the steaks, briskets, burgers, bacon, and chicken that you'd expect at a butcher that is all high quality and well priced. But they also have an amazing food menu for great lunch spot. AND, they have a supper club (@mckinney_supperclub to see how stunning and elegant these dishes are)! AND, they have heat and eat prepared meals like frozen smoked turkey pot pies and some critical Texan grocery products like rubs, sauces, tallows, etc. AND, everything is explained expertly and passionately by chef owner Noah. What a hidden gem! We are new loyal fans for sure. I hesitate to compare but Dallas OGs: imagine for a moment if Franks Underground and Jimmy's Food Store had a baby! Side note: this is new ownership within the last couple of years and looking at the reviews it's tragic they've ever been rated anything short of 5 stars since they're carrying baggage from old ownership.

WOW! This place is fantastic. The food was great. I had a cheeseburger and it was so fresh. The fries were great and I normally don't like fries. The place is a little small so be prepared to wait for a table but other than that I highly recommend this place.

Great little gem in downtown McKinney service food on par best hamburger I've had in my 53 years on this planet. Wife said the same about hers. Definitely be going back and bringing people.

Great Smash Burger. Outstandingly Friendly Service as well as great selection of Quality High End Meats. Brought home a rack of St Louis Cut ribs to smoke. These Duroc ribs were pricey but the best quality I have ever found. So glad I found this Gem!

I have been wanting to try the lunch here for sometime. My dad is visiting from California and we popped in on a Tuesday . First of all the aesthetic is quite elegant in a rustic no nonsense way. They have a couple tables inside and we ate there. Very steady business. The food was out in a fair amount of time but the quality of the food was amazing!! We ordered hotdogs, Rueben's and a tri tip sandwich. The sides were just as fabulous. Probably the best potato salad I ever had. French fries & the beans were very good. We will definitely be back. Not just for another meal but for some of the selections behind the meat counter as well. Pure quality. A must try!

Husband and I had a delicious lunch! Tritip and Rueben sandwiches, order of fries and cowboy beans. Everything was delicious! Don't skip the beans - they were amazing!! Lacey greeted us, took our order, then explained many items available as it was our first time here. We'll buy some fresh meat next time for sure! My husband was eyeing the tomahawks! Great experience, quality food! We'll definitely be back!

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The food is phenomenal and food is very fresh. The customer service is also amazing. I look forward to going back here soon. The setup is also very casual but still clean. This is easily the best burger I've had.

High quality meat market - super friendly and knowledgeable staff - delicious holiday honey glazed hams - and hands down the best lunch spot (smash burger and cheesesteaks are our favorites but you can't go wrong with either) - definitely worth a visit and come hungry!

The prime rib we bought for Christmas was out of this world! We came from Levittown Pa to be with my Daughter and her family and I heard so much about Noah watching his father in laws show, we couldn't wait to try his choice of beef! When I was a kid, my grandfather used to make me fried bologna sandwiches. Every time I walked over to his house after school. The flavor stays with me to this day. As an adult, I haven't come across fried bologna on a menu more than a couple times, in all the restaurants I've ever been to. But I did today, and it was amazing! There's a lot more to try at hams than just fried baloney, it's a very cool little local meat market I highly recommend checking it out if you've never been here before.

This place is amazing. The new owners are super friendly and the food is incredible. I had the cheesesteak and my wife had the burger. She claimed it was the best burger she's ever had (I had a bite and can confirm it was great) The bacon melts in your mouth. We were also able to get some awesome sauces from their great selection, as well as Cajun Friend Turkey for thanksgiving. Can't wait to try that! Overall a super cute store with a great lunch menu and a nice place to shop for the foodie in your life with the assortment of spices and sauces. Will be coming back soon!!

The Reuben sandwich was fantastic. I love a good sandwich and this one is tops. Garlic sauerkraut is a Godsend. (P.S. If you're not a fan of rye bread, which I am not, I had mine on Texas toast. Whole new level of delish).

I need to go here more. Their sausage game is high level. Brats, Chorizo, Italian Sausage....all wonderful. Service was great. No complaints. All positive.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff and everyone there is so unbelievably kind in an unkind world. We appreciate them so much. The food is amazing. Out of this world. Stopped in recently and Sara was friendly and knowledgeable. She made great suggestions for meat products, cooking tips, and other food items. The store is clean and inviting. I look forward to being a repeat customer.

Purchased Steak's and Pork Chops, they were amazing. Bought 2 - Beef tenderloin 8 ozs each were so tender . The Pork Chops were huge bone in to cook on the grill . I love the meat at Hamm's always fresh . I highly recommend this meat market. The owner's are really nice people.

Had great service during my visit. The staff, manager I believe, were very friendly and steered me in the right direction. Enjoyed the quality of the meats I got there for a large grill/smoke session. Will be returning.

Where do I begin? I made a reservation for a turkey in October the gal who answered the phone was nice and pleasant and Not knowledgeable of how their turkey situation worked. I had no idea the turkey was going to be frozen till I called a week before thanksgiving to verify the order. I wouldn't have ordered this turkey if I had known this. The turkey is the center piece of thanksgiving and I wouldn't want to risk trying something new on a day so based on tradition. Especially when I'm hosting 12 people. So when I was talking to the owner she was pretty rude and was blaming her associate. Very toxic. She promised to comp my turkey and throw in a ham. And like clockwork we show up to pick it up and now we have to pay for it. I wanted to give this place a opportunity but I won't return. Back to local yocal I shouldn't have strayed.

Hey Hamm's -- don't let your success get in the way of giving customers the benefit of the doubt. Why would we be lying about a paid for pick up if we were a) called when it was ready and b) the ticket had our name written on it? Are we random strangers claiming bread pudding on a whim? Owner (lady) has a less than kind approach to questions and requests (on both visits). Maybe what we picked up tastes good -- I didn't try it, but the service left a bad taste in our mouth.

This other review is ridiculous, they are so nice there. Great meat as well. Also they are open on Monday's where everyone else is closed. Give them a shot you won't regret it.

Went there to buy 6 Turkey legs which I had called ahead for and was told they were in stock and it would be no problem. However, when I got there (after waiting for 10 minutes in the lobby) I was told by the very rude butcher who works in the back that the legs only came in packs of 5 and were frozen; if I wanted to buy them I would either have to buy 5 or buy 10 because he didn't feel like breaking the packs up. When I told him I needed 6 and had no use for 4 extra, and mentioned that I spoke to a person who told me that it would be no problem he shrugged his shoulders and said "Well, this is what I am telling you now." I left and found them somewhere else. I will never shop there again. They used to be a great place but the change in ownership has brought the place to a low.

The reveiws below are all when Hamm's was in their old location under different ownership. We had heard so much about their hams over the years, we decided to give one a try at Christmas. The ham was burned in one area! A four inch diameter spot was burned. The meat was dry and tough there. They can't claim they didn't see it. It was simply too big. Beyond that, it really wasn't very moist and was extremely fatty. I expect some fat but not that much! I think their quality slipped when they changed hands a few years back. It is much too expensive for what you get! Conversely, their brown bag lunches on Thursdays and Fridays are great! Good value, excellent sandwiches.

Great meat market! We routinely get our meat from Hamm's. They cut to order and they always have high quality meat. It's really not any more expensive than buying from the grocery store and the service is great. They also have a neat selection of sauces, spices and jams from Texas "ma & pa" type producers. They are right on the square, next to the magic shop and catty corner to the library, but can be a little hard to see because the building has about four parking spaces under cover in front of the building. They do not accept credit cards but will accept checks.

Great place....Joan is fabulus.......remembers our likes and what we generally order....everything cut and packaged to order. Keeps me out of troube by reminding me what the Mrs. will not like.....never had a bad order....never had one fouled up either....We have bought an entire side of beef at once down to a pound of hamburger. Service is always the same and first class. I'm not sure why anyone would buy meat at the super market.....Hamm's is really no more expensive......everything cut and packaged just as we want it....usually much higher quality meats and cheeses.....goes further.

Hamm's meat products truly speak for themselves. My family is never disappointed and consistently "blown away" by the quality and taste. When we do not stretch our dollar to buy from Hamm's and purchase regular store bought offerings, we're often worried about what we're eating because the quality is just soooo subpar to Hamm's. You cannot go wrong with any purchase here. The owners have always been very laid back and helpful. It just feels right!

I love to support locally owned businesses and Jose's Hamm's Meat Market is as local as it gets. The quality of the meat is excellent and the customer service is unmatched. I called Saturday morning to ask if Jose could prepare some chicken breasts in a very particular way for a dinner party that night. He did a sample one for me, took a picture and texted it to me to make sure it was perfect. It was. Highly recommend Jose's Hamm's Meat Market!

Try any of the sandwiches! The buns are perfect. The best is the smoked chicken salad, but you have to get those on Thursdays. The chopped beef brisket and pulled pork are right behind it. Hamm's is a McKinney icon.

Great family-owned meat market. Awesome steaks at (not cheap) but very reasonable prices for the quality. Been around forever, a local fav. You just don't find quality-dedicated butchers like these anymore!
