Best Brunches in New York, from Bistros to Dim Sum | Condé Nast Traveler

"Hampton Chutney Co., a counter-service spot, might be no-frills, but it's still warm, lovely, and especially welcoming in a neighborhood that's been overtaken by $90 brunch spots and designer boutiques. They mostly trade in dosas, baguette-sized, chickpea flour–based Indian crepes stuffed with all kinds of fillings and served on a parchment-lined cafeteria tray with your choice of chutney. To drink, two words: cardamom coffee. Served hot or iced, the slightly sweet, perfectly spiced milky brew is absolutely addictive." - Andrea Whittle

Where To Go When You’ve Eaten Everywhere In Soho - New York - The Infatuation

"Hampton Chutney Co looks like a chain, and they occasionally make use of the Comic Sans font, but don’t let these things deter you from eating here. There are actually only two locations (the other of which is in the Hamptons), and they make some seriously good dosas here. They’re about the length of your arm and come stuffed with everything from eggs and potatoes to some exceptional curry chicken. You can also get a surprisingly great tuna sandwich here, as well as a bunch of other salads and sandwiches." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim

The dosas and chutneys are out of this world. Great option for when on the go. Something for everyone. *Masks and safety precautions were in place for COVID. After ordering food we waited outside (a very short time) and our order was brought to us.

Good doses albeit not the most traditional in terms of fillings (although you can get a simple basic one). A tad pricy but a good option for a quick casual bite in SOHO.

I love the dosas, even though they’re no traditional. My favorite is Masala Deluxe, with spinach, potatoes, roasted tomatoes and jack cheese. All the chutneys are great but my favorite is cilantro. Fast casual service makes for a convenient lunch while shopping in the neighborhood. Entrance has one step up but bathroom is accessible.

The most delicious and quickly served food. We love this place, especially the chutney! Don’t hesitate!

Good varieties of dosa. Chutneys served were bit cold. Bit pricey compared to the portions served. Overall food tasted good.

Love the Masala dosa (traditional) with mango/cilantro chutney. They’ve been around for 19 years in the SoHo area for a reason!

Just stopped in to the Hampton chutney co because I was in the area I needed to use the bathroom Brianna and the two young ladies in the front were awesome although I told them I really just needed to use the bathroom I said I wanted to buy something to drink as I did not have time to eat they all said no worries just use the bathroom no need to buy a drink I as I exited I saw the lassi and decided to try my first lassi. awesome I will be back to try the food. I am positive that just the personality of their employees alone will ensure an excellent experience

The dosas could have been more flavorful, and they were very difficult to eat as they fell apart when you lifted them up because they stick to the parchment paper they use.
