HAMTOWN BBQ & SOULFOOD

Ok. The Mac'n cheese was pretty good. You can tell that they use real cheese in it. The Wing Dings were a little over cooked. They were smothered in BBQ sauce. Which is not bad but the sauce tasted pretty generic. It was OK sauce. It was more sweet than savory BBQ. I asked for brisket since they have it in the Google review picture. It's not on the menu. The host said they were out. Next week they would have some, he said. He said that the lamb price was the same for brisket even though brisket is not on the menu. The floors have not been mopped. The entire place smelled dirty. I've never been to a BBQ place that didn't smell like the smoke you use to smoke the food. The host, Mohammed was a great and nice guy. In all, I payed $20 for the small Mac'n cheese and 10 BBQ wing dings.

The food was delicious, everything was made fresh and seasoned well. Also, the customer service was great. I would definitely recommend.

Food is great!! Finally a BBQ/Soul food spot in Hamtramck. BBQ ribs are so good! Corn bread was dry and not what I expected.

Me and my Husband went here a few weeks ago. And let me tell you, we couldn't wait until this soul food restaurant opened up. We walked in to see what they had, they had a nice of variety of food. I order the beef rib dinner with mac-n-cheese and greens and I ordered they grape 😎 aid lol😄 it was so good. My husband ordered the roast beef I think it was roast beef but it was think and he ordered some baked beans, yams and greens and he ordered some 😎 aid to I think his fruit punch. But when we got home and tried they food. From a 1-10 I will give them a 10. Everything was good and the workers was friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ordered carryout. Found one hair inside the bag. Disregarded it, wasn't in the food. Then found another hair inside of the pulled pork during my first bite. Threw out the whole food. $20 well spent.

I've been in Hamtramck for a long time and I like to be supportive especially to up and coming small businesses but this place served me the worst fried chicken I ever had in my life. The fried chicken (12/16) was literally black and taste old, the green beans and potatoes tasted spoiled, and macaroni & cheese wasn't fresh. $18 dollars for this meal and I wanted to return it back but I threw everything in the garbage. My prediction is that this business will be out of business in the first 3 months of 2023. Be very careful ordering from HamTown barbecue on Caniff and Lumpkin, your life may very well depend on it.

Went to this place for lunch. Never again food was horrible nothing was fresh all warm not hot. I ordered mac& cheese greens fried chicken and yams $22. I called back to let them know I wanted my money back. Left me on hold I called a couple more times no answer. Called from another number then answered. The young men ask why food was horrible. I'm in a nice way letting him know he hangs up. But all good I want be back here no more and I don't recommend any one esle after been treated disrespected. It so many ways he could've went about the situation to keep business. Especially when customer is politely just letting know the food wasn't good. Hopefully for other customers this doesn't happen. I wish to leave no stars!

I ordered the rib dinner not worth the $28. It’s one big rib that’s not edible at all. The greens are cold, the only thing worth eating is the Mac n cheese I’m highly disappointed. I do not recommend anyone to go there
