Yelp
A good spot to have a quick, cheap and tasty lunch/dinner with fresh ingredients from a small menu. The two daily specials are usually a good choice and at 4,90 Eur a good deal.
They are fast, efficient and a bit hectic. Tables are not exclusive (people are added if the table has more seats) and if you come with a group your entire group needs to be there before you get the next table. The atmosphere is a little crowded.
This is not for your relaxed business lunch or a romantic dinner. If you expect maximum service, courtesy and attention from the staff of a restaurant, this is not your spot and you probably should look for something more pricy. The reason they can pull this of is that they are fast and flip tables like crazy. If you appreciate a simple quick way to get your lunch/dinner with some fresh ingredients, this might be one of the best options in the area!
I feel inclined to write this review as I witnessed a scene today at Hamy were a english speaking customer, a mid aged lady with Fur Hat and pseudo intellectual styling, was accosting one of the service staff in the most horrible and entitled way, cornering and harassing her for at least 5 minutes, as the staff explained to her that she could only be seated once her entire group arrived. The customer was basically assaulting the staff verbally in the worst ways with an entitlement that was nothing short of complete trumpism, also mentioning she would write a terrible review and this would never fly in London or America and is a terrible practise by the restaurant. The staff took the harassment with grace and stayed calm. As I interfered and told the customer that she made her point and should leave it be, she escalted even further as her slightly embarrassed party arrived (I spare you the nationalistic, narcissistic and entitled cursing).
Anyhow, if you feel for that customer, you should probably avoid Hamy like the plague. If you are that customer, I have no hope for you.
