Hana Hawaiian BBQ - Review - Northeast Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Hana brings Hawaiian BBQ to the Northeast, and for a deal, no less–combos of the halal spicy chicken or salt and pepper ribs come with three sides for under $15. There’s a Traegar smoker out front that some dad probably fixates over while he waits for his creamy macaroni salad, and citrusy marinades that go perfectly with the BBQ shrimp. Grab a fruity bubble tea or tiger milk tea to go with your combo, and you’ll have a tasty meal for a quick lunch or dinner. photo credit: CANDIS R. MCLEAN photo credit: CANDIS R. This is my second visit. The food is so tasty! The chicken is melt in your mouth. My husband got the BBQ shrimp this time and he thought they were amazing. We look forward to you coming back again real soon

I ordered delivery so I can’t speak on service or atmosphere. The food was really good- the drinks were really good. We ordered a few different things and like everything you see pictured

The food was really good hands down. I love that it was Halal. Ill definitely come back. However. Please be aware if you order protein portions only e.g ribs only or shrimp only instead of it being a meal you will still pay the full price for it of a meal. I paid full price at the register and changed my mind after paying and wanted extra vegetables the person that was assisting DID NOT want to give the vegetables even though I paid full price as a meal. I was trying to make her understand but she just wouldn't. She told me I needed to pay extra for the vegetables. I was extremely ANNOYED and just left it alone. Customer service isn't too good or friendly in my opinion.

Food is good. Seems to be a mix of Korean style meat options also, which kinda matches the sweetness of Hawaiian marinades. If you told me it was a Korean BBQ place, I would believe it. I wished the macaroni cup was filled to the top with another scoop. I do think a side order of something extra is necessary to get full here. I added the hot chicken bites, which were great, but not face melting hot, although it looked like it was. Would like some chopsticks, because those plastic spoon and forks were kids sizes. You get your food in to-go boxes, even if you dine in, which was unexpected from the menu pictures. There is no self-serve sauces, napkins, or water.

Everyone was super nice here. My order wasn't ready, so I would suggest ordering a little later. My food was very good I got the hot spicy bites And they were so good. Definitely have that appetizer on your order For my meal, I got the. Hana spicy chicken And for my neighbor, I got The barbecue shrimp 9 pieces, she said. She loved it. The dish came with macaroni and white rice with Brockley for the drink I got Passion Fruit Tea which was super great as well.

Very affordable, the food was tasty, short wait time before food is ready. Drinks were also good but i recommend 30% sweetness. Space was clean, and good atmosphere

Honestly for opening day, this was such a letdown. I ordered the Philly Bomb with Japanese Soda (Lychee) and Cremble to go. The Cremble came with the actual dish (?), the soda was in original flavor instead of lychee, and the platter was cold. The soda tasted fine, but it is not what I asked for. The Cremble tasted okay at least. But the fries? Why are they barely room temperature? The macaroni salad was not special, just typical. The Philly Bomb tempura roll itself was okay, but was big like a gimbab roll. Wasn't too crazy about the temperature for that either, but at least better than the fries. Spicy mayo was good, but I also didn't receive or get asked to receive chopsticks. They just gave plastic utensils. As for the service... The initial cashier was friendly enough, but after I ordered, it was awkward to figure out where to wait. They had dine-in tables albeit a small space. They didn't have a waiting area really aside from sitting at free benches or around the counter. The staff were pretty quiet as well. Felt a bit robotic... I waited around 10-15 minutes to receive the food, and got home in 10 minutes. So the food should have been warm still in the container... *sighs* I don't personally eat halal, but I have friends who do. So I was hoping it would be a nice spot to go with friends. Maybe one day I can try the bubble tea or actually receive a lychee Japanese Soda. But for now, this is a huge miss for me.

I was excited to see Northeast get Hawaiian food so I stopped in for dinner - the service was very nice and friendly, the girl at the counter explained everything very well. Our food was fast and hot, it tasted very fresh. I love Hawaiian BBQ, this one isn’t my fave but still tasted pretty good. Another worker cleared our table and was also very nice! I’d def go back
