15 Standout Sushi Restaurants in Orlando

"Another in a line of fiercely authentic Japanese restaurants, this stalwart of Orlando’s sushi scene is as good now as it opened in 1996. Yes, it’s situated in the tourist sector, but the all-Japanese staff and the minimalist interior – which hasn’t changed much since its opening – make for a transportive experience. Rolls are segmented into “American” and “Japanese Traditional” categories, and sashimi and nigiri are plated without all the flash, panache, and fuss of more modern sushi houses in town. There’s an excellent sake selection too." - Faiyaz Kara

This is the only restaurant with authentic Japanese food in Florida that I have ever tried. I did not try sushi or sashimi because they didn’t have any that day but we had curry rice and side dishes that tasted like what you would find in Japan. It was so nice to eat Japanese food like mozuku and chawanmushi that is not at all catering to American tastes. They even have natto on the menu. I will definitely be back. The prices are reasonable. The staff were really nice.

Google
Traditional Japanese restaurant that has lots of variety. I like that they stick to the classics and don't venture into fusion. The cooked dishes are done particularly well, but some of the sushi didn't taste fresh. My favorites were the nabeyaki udon, chawanmushi, tamago nigiri, eel nigiri, and tuna nigiri. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly. The only odd thing is that they prefer calling ahead to make reservations even if the restaurant isn't full. Edit: Sukiyaki is also great!

My wife and I have been coming here since 2020 and the quality of the food is still amazing. Every time we fly down to FL for Disney, we have to stop here for a bite. Each trip brings us back Authentic sushi awaits A timeless treasure

If you want to experience authentic Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend this place. I am Japanese and the taste is one of the few authentic food I’ve had in Florida. I also think it is quite cheap for the quality. My husband and I had noodles and donburi for less than $15 each. This is comparable to many dinner prices at chain places. The taste is homemade. This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend!

I love the atmosphere walking into the restaurant. This place really reminds me of Japan and their Oolong Tea really hit the spot for me since it’s so good and refreshing. Their toro and salmon nigiri is so fresh and delicious. The tamago tasted a bit old and plain. Their sushi roll shrimp tempura is super crunchy and spicy tuna is fresh. The gyoza tasted good (4/5). The niku udon broth had a great umami flavor and the udon has a great consistency (wasn’t too hard). Tempura soba is delicious and the broth warm the soul. I would recommend tempura udon, but the soba still tastes very refreshing with the hot broth. The soba noodles tasted really good. Although, soba noodles is easy to make, but the cold soup blend so well with the refreshing soba. The tempura is perfect battered, once you dip it into the cold broth, it’s so perfect. The closest I can get to Japan. IG: BEEFYFOODIE

Google
This restaurant deserves an average score above 4.5 considering Orlando has been a desert of delicious cuisine. - It’s a more authentic Asian restaurant vibe. Quiet, peaceful, waitress being more invisible but still providing caring service. (No too annoying “how’s everything”) - wide range of food available. Sashimi is good. For people who are not super familiar with Japanese food, please note, they offer more than just sushi and really worthy a try. - yes they limit customers for quality service. So you would better make a reservation ahead and be prepared for the scarce parking spots. Def will visit again if I would ever visit Orlando.

Google
Located near the end of a standard tourist strip mall on International Drive, lies a small, unassuming traditional Japanese restaurant. The decor is calming and welcoming, with the feeling that you are eating in a homes courtyard. The menu is packed with Japanese classics, Soba, Udon, Hot Pots, Sushi and more. They often have seasonal offerings as well. This time of year it’s mushrooms. The staff is welcoming and helpful with suggestions. We booked this with group of friends as a planning for an upcoming trip to Japan, and loved it. Don’t miss out on the selection of Saki either . The parking situation is a little odd with most of the spaces in the area taken up by reserved spots only. You may have to park and well a bit to get there.

Google
The atmosphere and the service is good, but the pricing and the food quality is high and not very fresh. (If you just order some basic rice, it is fine) When I ordered the Uni Don the market price is 47, so i thought is would be a don covered with at least 4-5 pieces even for the highest level. You can see the picture for how little it is. Only one piece. Then for the flavor, the uni is not sweet, and it has those “fishy” taste even though the texture is fine. If you don’t order this don since it is pricey for $47 dollars, if you try udon, it is plain only salty. For the 寿喜锅the Japanese hotpot, it is very sweet. We added two cups of water but didn’t help. If you order the Japanese fried chicken, it is as small as you can see. Overall, we had expectations for the restaurant, and it turned out pricey and not fresh. I think I have a stomachache after the uni. I understand the market price is not determined by me, but the taste doesn’t meet its high level either.

Yelp
After a long day, we met up with some friends here to catch up and get good food. We were greeted quickly and they served us our drinks pretty quickly. Depending on your food order, you can choose to do it yourself or have someone make it for you. We opted for ourselves since we've done it before but a couple of our friends had a worker make it for them for the experience. It's a cozy venue. Not too loud, and easy to find.

Yelp
Japanese food lover and ramen enthusiast. Near my hotel and had great Yelp reviews. Found the establishment is Japanese owned and now run by the original owner's son. Huge menu. Everything sounds good. Wish I could eat it all. Atmosphere is traditional Japanese style and quiet. Was treated well with friendly service and great at answering all my inquisitive questions. Ordered the Gyokai Shoyu Ramen and WOW! packed full of wonderful flavor and full of great toppings as is off the menu. Started with Yasai salad and finished with matcha ice cream. All were good. If looking for great Japanese food, sushi, ramen, and oooo so many more options. Stop by Hanamizuki.

Yelp
Another fantastic dinner at my favorite restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance was quaint. Food- we had their mushroom specials and an udon set which took me back to Japan!

Yelp
Came here yesterday around 8 for late dinner and had an outstanding experience. We tried their sukiyaki, which was absolutely fantastic. The broth was rich and savory, perfectly complementing the tender beef and fresh vegetables. Additionally, the dashimaki tamago was a delightful surprise. It was light, fluffy, and full of flavor, making it one of the best I've had. Another highlight was the amaebi sashimi. The sweet shrimp was incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth. They even took the amaebi head and fried it, adding a delightful crunch and extra layer of flavor to the meal. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Overall, Hanamizuki offers an authentic and memorable dining experience that I highly recommend.

Yelp
Back again! This place has become a staple to us when we find ourselves in Florida and I could not be happier! On this particular winter day, the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice was calling my name and I was so satisfied by the end! There is a decent portion of chicken, but the curry sauce is really everything you could ask for! I loved combining the rice with the curry and a bit of the red pickles for the perfect bite! Tempura appetizer was also nice to have! Nothing unique about it, but as a Japanese food lover, it satisfied the craving. The appetizer comes with 2 shrimp tempura, a piece of kabocha squash, 1 onion ring, and one more piece which I think was a carrot. Gyoza, again, nothing special but perfect to satisfy the craving! Service- As usual, it was impeccable! They are still mostly on a reservation-only basis (so be sure to call ahead) but when you are there, they are attentive, kind, and helpful! See you again soon!

Yelp
We're so glad to have stumbled upon this gem. The ambiance is simple but clean, the staff is friendly, and food is yummy. My husband particularly commented on how authentic the Japanese katsu curry tasted. The miso ramen broth was very salty, so I hope they cut the salt down by at least half.

Yelp
Great place for truly authentic Japanese food. Reservations are a must! Even on a week day! We enjoyed the ambience, very attentive service and trying new things on the menu. Most items we ordered we really liked. The sushi quality was definitely better than your regular "sushi restaurant". The prices definitely reflect that as well. One negative for us was that there were a few patrons that were not very respectful of other diners, and it was not addressed by the staff. At one table the guy was chatting away on FaceTime loud enough to carry through the entire room, and at another there was a family with kids who had "baby shark" on their iPad for a better part of an hour, loud enough to block out the actual restaurant's music. Now I'm a mom, and have had to resort to a use of phone/ipad when my kids were running out of patience, so I get it, but we wished the waitress asked them to turn it a bit down.. it was very hard to rectify "baby shark" on repeat with a fancy, reservations only authentic Japanese restaurant.

Yelp
Currently no sushi and sashimi. And didn't take us in even thought there are empty tables and one hour before closing. Bummer

Yelp
Hanamizuki is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Orlando. I went there with my friend who has gone to Japan before. She had sushi, onigiri (spicy egg). I love this place because they prepare their foods like you are in Japan. She was aware of food temperature was so well made. She loved them! I had those sushi, noodle and sweets. They are so perfect, not too much in my stomach. The waitress mes were so friendly and polite! The place is so tranquil. I love their atmosphere. If you like authentic Japanese foods, I highly recommend Hanamizuki!

Yelp
Want Japanese food? Like real traditional Japanese food. This is the place in Orlando. The family and I found this place a couple of years ago, and pretty much visited every day. We were in Daytona and did a day trip to Disney Springs to finish off with a nice dinner here for some comfort food. Glad to see they haven't changed and quality is the same. Service is always great. Ambience is Japanese-esque.

Yelp
Back for another awesome experience with the Service and food of Meg and her family. The menu is truly totally unexpected; great variety and spectacular flavors. The background music and ambiance makes this place an oasis in International Drive. Great free parking

Yelp
Hanamizuki is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Orlando. However, they have very short service hours and require a reservation. Be sure to do your research to ensure you can get it. Don't try to walk-in; they will not take walk-ins. Also, know that you're not getting an Asian chain restaurant - there are tons of items on the menu that are not "staples" around town. But, when you get them, prepare to be amazed. If you follow my reviews, I'm a sucker for gyoza. This is one of the best gyoza's I have ever had. Tons of flavor, perfectly cooked, and inexpensive. Honestly, it checks every box, and will be on my table during the next visit too. I also found both noodle dishes to be perfectly executed. The flavors were forward, but not overwhelming and the noodles were very good. Nothing was on the verge of too chewy or lacking flavor. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp
Amazing Japanese food! I have been here couple of times and it's my husband's and I favorite Japanese restaurant. Very authentic and the food is delicious. I have tried different things but my absolutely favorite are gyoza, SUKIYAKI Hot Pot, sushi, and Katsu don. The service is very good and fast. The food quality is excellent, I recommend to do a reservation even during week days, it's not easy to just walk in, you might not be able to get in. The ambience is also nice, usually quite pleasant and not noisy at all. The only bad thing I have to say is they don't have a baby changing table in the bathroom so I needed to go to my car to change my baby's diaper. Except for that I love this place. Take in consideration also the prices, it's not very cheap but the food is great quality and delicious so it's a reasonable price.
google avatar

Paul F.

Yelp
Food ok, ambience just mediocre, nigiri sushi priced for only one not a pair. Watch out for 18% gratuity added to your bill so you don't double tip!

Yelp
Best authentic Japanese food in town ! On PTO, my husband and I decide to go to our favorite restaurant and enjoy nice lunch and relax! The waitress is very friendly and the food came to table fast. There are some Japanese tourists in the restaurant, so you know the food is good. Highly recommend you to try this place, reservation is recommended if you don't want to wait long time. Today was a good lunch experience . We will definitely be back again soon.

Yelp
This is by far the most authentic Japanese restaurant in FL. I throughly enjoyed dishes I can't have in Tampa area. Mozuku もずく Naga Imo with pickled fish guts 長芋の酒盗ぞえ Cuttlefish and greens in vinegar miso sauce 烏賊のぬたあえ Attention to details. Fresh ingredients. Combination of beautiful plates and bowls. I appreciated everything. I had five omakase sashimi plate, each fish came in perfect conditions and was distinctively dressed in Japanese style. Various and specific garnish for different type of fish. Even the tiniest slices of scallion were delightful to me. 技が光ってる。 The service was attentive too. Everything was lovely.

Yelp
Came here because I was craving ramen. I got the gyoza and miso tonkotsu ramen. The service was great. The gyoza was very good. For the ramen, the broth had good flavor, but the noodles were off. The noodles had a weird taste. I would come back to try the other items on the menu.

Yelp
I could not find any Japanese restaurant near me in East Orange County that had sukiyaki on the menu. Finally I found Hanamizuki, known for a traditional menu, near a Kissimmee hotel where my son was staying for a convention. The restaurant was small with simple Japanese decor. The staff wore kimonos which added to the ambiance. The sukiyaki was delicious! It came with white rice on the side. Udon noodles, which I prefer, are available for a small charge. My husband selected the shrimp & vegetable tempura rice bowl. He enjoyed his choice. We also enjoyed edamame for our appetizer. It was steamed & chilled. It had no special seasoning or sauce. The service was perfect. Our waitress was courteous & attentive. My son shared my sukiyaki-for-two order & needed a separate bill. Overhearing our discussion, our waitress assertively told us she'd be happy to take care of it. The only downside-they lost their sushi chef so sushi wasn't available. But my quest didn't involve sushi & my husband doesn't like sushi.

Yelp
My sister and brother-in-law had been hyping up Hanamizuki for a while so I finally made it down to Orlando to give it a try. Be sure to make a reservation to ensure a table! We started with a sushi combination platter to share: the Hana sushi combo, which was fresh and had a great variety of nigiri and rolls. We shared it but I wish I had ordered it for myself LOL. The goshu mori was also a great assortment of sashimi that I would definitely recommend if you're looking to skip all the rice. The Udon Suki is a great option if you don't want sushi - hot and full of umami. I ordered the Negi Toro Don, which didn't look like much when it came out but was still pretty tasty. If I had understood Japanese, I would know that Negitoro was minced fatty tuna. I would have preferred toro sashimi, but makes sense based on the price point. I was definitely impressed by the quality and options of sushi and other Japanese dishes on the menu. I can't wait for my next trip to Orlando and for our next visit to Hanamizuki!

Yelp
This is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I have been to. Food is fantastic and highly recommend. Great service as well, very attentive servers. I met up with a friend who wanted Japanese food for lunch. He got the ramen which looked serviceable but I would not get it since it's pretty standard. He seemed to enjoy it. I got a pork katsu plate which was a pretty generous portion. Was very curious about their onigiri as well which was fresh. They also serve both hot/cold soba and udon so it's something I'm hoping to try next time. As far as the ambiance and interior decor, it's got this off green almost vomit color inside but please don't let that deter you for the fantastic food. They've got fresh sushi as well as a pretty large menu that will take a few visits to completely explore!
google avatar

Yelp
The best Japanese restaurant I have ever visited. The ambiance as well as the service was great. The food was delicious and fresh. Prices were very reasonable and I highly recommend them.

Yelp
As i've said in other reviews... it's hard finding good restaurants in Orlando, and sushi is about one of the hardest categories. Stumbled upon this place - it's hidden way back off the I-Drive strip in the tourist area. Noticed it was Japanese-run and had mixed reviews but more polarized ones than anything. Overall, I enjoyed it. I can see why some people have written about the capacity issues. They don't seem to want it to be more than 50% full for health and safety reasons i'm guessing. Food (4/5) - authentic Japanese all the way... with basic not elaborate presentation style - Shoyu Ramen - was good and done traditional way - Hamachi sashimi - fresh and tasty - Tako sashimi - same - Hand rolls - fresh and balanced rice portions - traditional dessert - i wish i could remember what this is called and it wasn't on the menu. it was really tasty and different! fruit, mochi, paste and ice cream (see picture) Service (4/5) - friendly and attentive staff in authentic attire. Atmosphere (3/5) - it's a pretty basic place with 80s style decor and not a lot of decoration. Quiet and quaint. Overall (4/5) - i would go back... for the food specifically.

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese food like you would find in Japan. I got the mizu ramen and onigir grilled salmon. You should make a reservation so you aren't disappointed. It's a small place.

Miles W.

Yelp
Great food, glad I came! Excellent selection of delicious Japanese food. Great service

Yelp
Great delicious food and good service. Make sure to make reservation as it gets crowded around dinner time. Family run business and over 20 years. I make sure to go there every time I am in Orlando with my family.

Yelp
Although we have eaten at Hanamazuki at least once a year for the past thirteen years, this is the first time we ate there since the pandemic. They had a limited menu and were short staffed due to the labor shortage we are experiencing in Orlando. As a result they only use half of the tables if there are only two servers, that is why the restaurant seems so empty and why a reservation is a must! They still have a demand and the food is still amazing!!!! There were four of us. I had a chawan mushi appetizer and the chefs choice sushi with a California roll, the others had the bamboo tempura, the vegetarian sushi, and the lobster and fish hot pot. Everything was DELICIOUS!!!!! And the two servers were fast and very attentive. The service was top notch as always due to their care in not overbooking the tables.
google avatar

Jin G.

Yelp
Mediocre food, average service, weird ambiance, ridiculous prices, their nigiri/sashimi's are fairly fresh. But the rest of their menu are a disaster. We ordered the soba cold noodles, it was the worst cold noodle's I've ever had. The Shabu Shabu, please stay away, flavorless soup with only a piece of konbu as seasoning. When we went we wanted to try the otoro and uni, but they were out of both of them. Also had ordered draft beer, over 30% of it was foam!!!! Overall it was a disappointing and frustrating experience.

Guillermo C.

Yelp
we are out of towners but visit orlando regularly. every time we are in Orlando we always stop by the place. I have been eating sushi for over 40 years and this place's sushi is by far one of the best I have eaten even their wasabi and ginger taste better than many places I have eaten for those who comment on their noodles, please remember this is a sushi place and not a ramen place.
google avatar

Toby U.

Yelp
Rude staff Rarely open. Food is decent if you actually get to eat here. I've been around 8 times and only been able to eat twice. The staff delight in finding reasons not to serve you, e.g. demanding reservations when there were only 2 diners in the restaurant and enforcing foolish covid rules in 2023.
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
Drove 2 hours to Orlando from Gainesville to have these very common yet real Japanese food. Japanese restaurants in Gainesville should make these real Japanese stuff first before making American sushi rolls and American hibachi that do not exist in Japan.

Ellen S.

Yelp
Delicious understated flavors suggesting Kyoto style milder seasonings. Have lioved this restaurant for 15plus years but live out of state so not able to be a regular. Last 2 visits recently the restaurant was very quiet. I realize the original chef may have retired but sad that that customer volume was low. Service good.

Yelp
I am surprised to see some low reviews for this restaurant. I've heard good things about it, but I rarely find myself in the I-Drive area. I finally made it last weekend, and I enjoyed my experience. We had a reservation for 5:00pm--a little early because we had to make a movie. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves at that time. The decor is a little dated, but comfortable and clean. The servers wore kimonos. Even though this is in the thick of tourist central, this place is an authentic Japanese restaurant. It does not cater to "Americanized" Japanese food like some other places. If you want really over the top, decadent rolls stuffed with cream cheese and covered with spicy Mayo, you may be disappointed. Hanamizuki has a very extensive menu including soba, udon noodle dishes, soups, katsu dishes, meats, and of course a wide variety of nigiri, sushi, and sashimi. It was actually a little overwhelming and difficult to narrow down our choices. They have a lot of unique Japanese delicacies you will not find in most restaurants in town. We ordered a few different appetizers to share--tempura, an eel and cucumber salad, gyoza, and a unique uni croquette. Some of the appetizers were pretty small portions, but everything is price extremely reasonably. Our table also ordered a wagyu beef dish, and an udon noodle soup with tempura shrimp. The udon soup was very good. I ordered one of the chef's choice sushi and nigiri dishes and also some hand rolls. I was very pleased with my choices. The fish was all very fresh, and I got to try a generous variety of nigiri along with a California roll. I particularly enjoyed the hand rolls. They had hand rolls made with fried soft shell crab, salmon, and spicy tuna. We had no problem with service during our visit. We all left full and happy.

Yelp
It's a good japanese restaurant. We order toro chirashi, tempura udon, oniguiri set and temakis for the kids. The service was good and they are nice.

Yelp
Love LOVE LOVE this place. Family owned Japanese Restaurant, the food is fresh the sushi is fresh and super tasty. Quiet atmosphere in the middle of crazy iDrive. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic & tasty Japanese cuisine.

Yelp
We were looking for good, healthy food during our stay in Orlando - this spot on International Drive fit the bill for authentic Japanese food. I enjoyed the Nabeyaki Udon soup - thick flour noodles in a fish broth with egg, chicken and all kinds of delicious fixings. I really liked it - Udon is one of my personal favorites and I feel they nailed the dish. My wife and I also tried an assortment of sushi rolls - they were slightly smaller than the ones in Miami but the flavor was delicate, subtle, and very enjoyable. The topping on the volcano roll - while it looked heavy - was complex - in a good way! I would have it again. This restaurant is located right next to Icon park (The big Ferris wheel) on International drive. It's towards the back of the mall type area near King's Bowling and the one of the large rides. If you're craving authentic Japanese Food I recommend Hanamizuki - we'd visit again. Staff was friendly and attentive, food was good, ambience nice and quiet. Perfect for chilling out after a busy day on vacation.

Yelp
For sushi it was just ok. I'm sure all the other entrees are much better and what they are known for. The service was great and it looked like a nice family owned place. At least give them a try!

Yelp
This is not just a sushi place! It offers so many different things. The menu is literally a book. Plenty of parking and service was great!

Yelp
I hardly ever post a Yelp review, but I thought this place was well deserving of a good rating. Service was quick and polite, food was something that I have been craving for - an authentic Japanese taste! As a Japanese citizen living in rural Mountain West, I always look for a Japanese restaurant when I get to travel. This place was exactly what I was looking for. From the first to the last bite, it was an authentic taste that Was very nostalgic to me. I highly recommend anyone who have been to Japan and is looking for that taste.

Paul A.

Yelp
I told my friend I want real Japanese food. My friend told me this is the only authentic Japanese restaurant in the area. I think it is true, as all the servers are Japanese. And the customers here are mostly Japanese as well. Unfortunately, the sushi Chef was out on the first day I visited. So, I had something else, but sushi. I went again a few days later to try the sushi. It was worth the efforts.

Yelp
This restaurant fascinates me. It has so many items I've never heard of... We'd been here a few times, but not for about 3 or 4 years and before that maybe 10 years? We were glad to see they were still here and we know why. We'd planned to eat middle eastern food a few doors down. But when that didn't work out we came here. The menu is in Japanese and English. Most of the servers are Japanese as is the clientele. If you get the one American server and she doesn't answer your questions enough for you to understand, make sure to ask for one of the other servers. It made all the difference in the world. This is a much more authentic Japanese restaurant than most of us are used to. And the menu is huge and a bit daunting. There are so many categories: Salads; sunomono; appetizers; natto; Tororo; Oroshi; Nuta; Sashimi; Sushi; Tempura; Fried; Grilled; Special Steaks (including Wagyu and Koraga beef -- some costing over $100!); special ishiyaki; rice dishes; Noodles (including udon and soba). Some of the categories were "Greek" to me... A word about their noodles. They had a sign on the hostess desk saying "no ramen". I think they only serve ramen for lunch and then only on certain days. Oh, and they only give you chopsticks. I imagine they have forks if you request them. And if you want sushi, request a separate sushi menu. Its a one sheet paper where you mark on one side individual fish pieces and on the other side you indicate rolls you'd like. I started with a small house salad. They bring out two different bottles of dressings that you must shake before trying. One is a soy sauce and oil mixture and one is miso based. Both are good. I used first one then the other. Then I had their Karei Kara Age listed under their "fried" section. This was a deep fried flounder served with ponzu sauce. It was market priced by weight. When it was delivered, I realized it was the front half of the fish. It was very good, but you have to have a bit of patience to eat this. And know what you're doing to avoid getting a mouthful of bones. My husband started with miso soup with baby clams. Unexpectedly, they were teeny clams still in their shells. It seemed like a dozen in the small bowl of miso soup. He said it had very good flavor. He followed his soup with two sushi rolls. One roll was Alaska roll (with salmon) and the other was a spicy cod roll. He liked both of them. All accompanied by a large hot sake. This is the kind of place that you could come to often and still never scratch the surface. They also have daily specials along with the regular menu. I look forward to future adventures in eating.

Yelp
The rolls and sashimi here are very fresh and very good and it isn't expensive. Appetizers were okay, it's better to just get their sushi rolls and sashimi.

Yelp
Another "I've been coming here for years review." ....Been coming here for years... More than 15 years. Another spot coming from Tampa, I make a point to come visit. The only closest thing to authentic Japanese cuisine I could find back then. Probably more out there now, but over the years, consistency deserves praise. Sushi is always great. Plated well, with new or different options from time to time. Doesn't have ice crystals still from thawing like some places or mushy from lack of freshness. Taste is always delicious and fresh. This isn't the place for mutant ninja turtle rolls...they get the simple things right, the fish and the rice, perfect in my opinion. They have apps and hot pots. Usual available tempura. They're ok, but for sure the Unagi (eel) is something made well here. Wonderfully warm, salty sweet, umami taste, with just the right amount of fat over hot rice served in almost a bejeweled box. Ramen and udon dishes you can now get for dinner. Made well and just right taste. Nothing over the top which I like. The desserts are always something new and tasty. Definite worth the try. Place has a rather large menu. I admit, I haven't been able to go through everything yet. Hanamizuki has a very humble, picturesque interior. Nothing over the top again, kinda like the cool Japanese sushi places you see in hip Netflix documentaries. Very clean, with clean bathrooms. Staff can be...friendly, not too attentive at times. They get the job done. Prepare yourself for the price. It isn't cheap, but well worth it, enough for me to frequent this place from Tampa. Adequate parking out front. Located in a highly touristy area, so parking can get scarce at times. Might have to wait for a table on busier nights. Almost forgot. They have Uni here. If they have it. California Gold. Perfect taste. And a rare treat to find here in Florida.

Yelp
The spicy ramen was EXTREMELY spicy!!! I do like it hot, but this way overboard to the point where I couldn't enjoy the broth. The server was very attentive and the restaurant quiet. The egg was beautiful and the pork tasty. Unfortunately due to the extreme heat of the dish I cannot comment on the broth..

Yelp
This place opens at 5pm for dinner and we were able to get a reservation same day. The place was quiet and tranquil and I was happy with how soothing it was. This restaurant definitely is a must try. The prices are amazing and they aren't expensive. This plate was amazing but heavy on the meats and seafood. The sauce and cabbage were the perfect match for all of the deep fried ingredients.

Yelp
I came here 9 years ago, it was a nice experience. I visited it again when I was in the area, I was disappointed to find out the quality had gone down. I ordered chawanmushi, hana sushi combination, botan ebi sashimi. Chawanmushi and botan ebi are ok, though botan ebi had not been properly defrost. Hana moriawase sushi was biggest disappointment. Good sushi chef adds proper amount of wasabi in sushi, I was happy to find out hanamizuki continued this tradition, however he added too many, the wasabi overpowered the fish, this is a big NO in sushi, and made me wonder did they run out of fresh food.

Yelp
Consistent and always delicious. Travel to Orlando for business always brings me to this little local place.
