Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Rachael was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to have serve us. She was attentive, funny and easy on the eyes. Tried the spinach artichoke dip and it was really good. I loved that it was mixed up and that it came with toasted bread. Very tasty. Had the grilled ribeye for dinner and wow… added truffle butter and that was a game changer. Such good flavor. The steak was perfectly medium rare and had a great sear to it. Delicious. The atmosphere is really chill. Quiet enough to talk, clean, and up beat. Very good experience.

Decent burger, excellent fries, crispy on the outside soft inside. The one thing was the water was not clean, you could see filaments floating. Maybe the ice but definitely questionable and not consumable.

Google
The food is expensive for what it is. Everything is ala cart and based on taste not great. The service was really good but extremely slow. About a 40 minute wait to get blackberry mojito. Tried the zucchini which was great. Husband had the ribeye. Really good flavor but with horseradish and salad was over $70 for just him, not worth it. Tomato pasta with salmon not good, do not order. The creamy chicken pasta was good though.

A great place to meet your friends and family for a great time. The food is always delicious and plentiful. Great horseshoe bar with all the sprits to make the day special.

Came here from visiting from Austin. Decent food and potential but would have loved if the waitress cared about my feedback on my meal. Order a cesar salad, really good flavor but rarely any leaf in the salad. I asked for leaves on the side because I didn’t want to be complicated to reorder a salad. I was told that they can only give ice berg as the romaine doesn’t have much leaf. $16 for mostly hard pieces and didn’t even enjoy my meal. Didn’t offer a replacement , half off meal, nothing. Enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience but wouldn’t come back.

Stopped in at Hand Cut Burgers and Chop House for a solo happy hour and took a seat at the bar. The ambiance had a polished rustic charm, and the staff were friendly but not particularly attentive—it took a little longer than expected to get settled and served. I ordered the Truffle Cheeseburger, California Fries, and a glass of rosé from the happy hour menu. The burger had promise: the truffle came through, the cheese was melty, and the bun held up well—but it felt like it was missing a wow factor, especially at this price point. I didn't care for the California Fries they were ok, nothing spectacular. The rosé was light and refreshing, a solid happy hour pour, I enjoyed it. Overall, it was good enough for a casual stop, but not quite memorable. I’d come back if I was nearby and craving fries, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Google
Wonderful meal, great service. Server was kind, helpful, quick. Food and drinks were tasty and fresh. Ribeye was literally the best restaurant steak I’ve ever had. My partner had the bucatini, it was rich and delicious. Thank you for being the best meal of our vacation!

Google
A solid experience overall. Food was good and so were the drinks. The Brussel sprouts were good. Fries were too. The filet was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Tender too. Jalapeño burger was also good.

Yelp
I like random details that make a place unique. Check out the door handles when you come. I didn't post a pic so you gotta see for yourself. Service was fast and friendly. They were a bit busy when we were there but said that if we could finish in an hour and a half that we could be seated immediately, since they had a later reservation for the table. So, no wait! Yay! We went with Wagyu French onion sliders for an appetizer. It was legit. The Parmesan brioche buns were beautifully fluffy and buttery. The beef was tender and flavorful. The caramelized onions were done nicely, with a delicious herb Mayo, and the Brie really made it. You get 2 in an order. Super tasty. We wanted to try 2 different items and shared them. Black Truffle culotte, 10 oz of meaty truffle deliciousness. So, I'm pretty obsessed with truffle, I like how loud it is. There was no mistaking the truffle presence. It had a black truffle sauce, with a truffle butter and herb salt. It made me think of the movie Ratatouille where Anton Ego took a bite and his eyes got wide. Bc I'm fairly certain I had that same moment only it didn't bring me back to my childhood bc my childhood meals were bereft of black truffle. Like whoa. It was cooked exactly how we wanted. As I'm writing this I wish I lived closer bc I want it again. Now the other dish we had was very good, but different. It was the crab mac and cheese. The sauce was rich and luxurious. The spiced bread crumbs added some nice texture and the tomato in the herb cream sauce brought a nice acidity to cut some of the richness. It didn't end up too heavy, and the crab was incorporated into the sauce instead of sitting on top, so basically each bite had bits of crab. Would I eat this again too? Yes, definitely. Vibes are laid back. Food is fantastic without the atmosphere being too stuffy. It was pretty busy, so if you go at a busy time, you may want to have a reservation put in to save you a table. I didn't have any cocktails but next time I'll try not to skip the drinks. Come here hungry, and leave happy. Yassss.

Yelp
My recent visit was nothing like the past time. I had a taste for a burger while doing a staycation in Old Town Scottsdale so I told my sister we should go to Hand Cut Burgers & Chophouse. It aas around 4:30pm and we walked from our hotel to get there. I was happy to make Happy Hour. We made it in and were greeted immediately. We decided to sit at the bar and was welcomed by the bartender. I ordered a glass of Rose' off the happy hour menu which was very refreshing. We placed our food order and it came out not too long after. The Western burger and onion rings I ordered looked so delicious. My mouth was watering to dig into them. I started with the onion rings which were cooked perfectly and were hot, fresh out the fryer. My burger on the other hand was very disappointing. I took a couple of bites and the bun, patty, and bacon were room temperature. I tried to eat it but I do not care for food to be lukewarm or cold when it should be hot. I stopped eating it and waited to get the bartenders attention and asked if they had a microwave to warm my burger up becaise nothing about it was hot. She said they didn't, but offered to have it remade for me. I was very grateful for the offer and accepted. When the remade burger came out the patty was hot off the grill but the bun was cold. I was left to think that the first patty compared to the remade one was pre-cooked or something. I'm not sure if the buns are pre-toastsd to get the toast marks on them and then placed to the side to have available for orders but I ended up taking the top bun off and ate the burger. Needless to say I was expecting to receive the same food quality from the time before but that did not happen.

Yelp
Our servers were so nice. Really cool vibe to the place as well. The real stars? The cooks!!!! My steak was perfect--melt in your mouth kinda perfect!!! One exception: little heavy handed on the salt. Doesn't change my review--just a little heads up!!!

Yelp
Wow the food here was delicious!! I was very surprised by how fast the food came out too! This returns had a very friendly stafff who were very sweet to both my children. The restaurant had a very relaxed vibe to it and I loved all the decor they had both inside and outside the restaurant.

Yelp
Delicious Scottsdale eatery! The interior decor was very nice and our server was attentive and sweet. I started with the espresso martini and it was genuinely the best one I have ever had. It was perfectly foamy and I honestly really loved the glass it was served in. For our appetizer we shared the tempura zucchini, and it was yummy! The tempura was crispy and the zucchini wasn't soggy at all. It came with a house ranch, and as a ranch lover, it was great. For my meal I ordered the California Burger, and it was great. It was cooked perfect and it wasn't too heavy on the bun. I really liked the smashed avocado on it, I think it really enhanced the flavor. I also thought that the sweet potato strings were a sweet and unique touch. We ordered a few a la carte sides (which we loved) including the asparagus, onion rings, hand cut fries, and (my favorite) the three cheese mac. Overally it was a great dining experience and will return on my next trip to Scottsdale!

Yelp
I visited Handcut for a graduation celebration dinner. The staff members treated us all so kindly and took good care of us. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and it was one of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
It's my first time visiting the restaurant, but I will say enjoyed the crab Mac and cheese dish. The pasta did need to be a little more tender but all in all very tasty

Yelp
Such a cute and fun restaurant in a great location near the waterfront! I had the quinoa veggie burger which was super tasty. A great spot for lunch!

Yelp
I was here for happy hour on a Tuesday and the place was nearly empty. The service was nice! Since there basically wasn't anyone else there we got our food and drinks quite promptly. The food was good! I got the spinach and artichoke dip with bread and my friend got the fried zucchini. We both got a twilight tonic. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but I'd order it all again if I come back. The restaurant is really cute, I like the aesthetic and vibe. I do wish it wasn't quite as expensive. I got one drink and appetizer during happy hour and I still ended up spending more than $20. So just know that if you're going for dinner you'll probably spend at least $25-30 per person if you're just getting an entree.

Yelp
So let's start with the positives. Loved the decor and vibe, fries were good, they accepted an online reservation for 10 people (the main reason why I booked it). Now for the negatives. Service was basically non existent. After she sat down our food she disappeared and we never saw her again. Food is way overpriced. The burgers were pretty small and 'a la carte' (lame). Just include fries. And lastly, my hubby was excited to try their 'special' old fashioned and when it arrived smoking it smelled amazing...something about a waffle cone.... But unfortunately it tasted like every other old fashioned he's had. Not a problem, but for the price, he was expecting to be wowed. All in all, we won't be returning unless some changes are made to the way they price things. There are many other restaurants in the area that are better.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite restaurant, conveniently located within walking distance from my home whenever I craved good food. However, after my most recent visit, I think it might have been my last. The service in downtown Scottsdale is generally lackluster, and this place has been no exception. But this time, it was exceptionally poor. When we arrived, despite two-thirds of the tables being available, the hosts told us there would be a 15-minute wait. We decided to bypass this and headed to the bar. Once seated, the bartender with wavy hair greeted us and handed over the drink menus. We ordered our drinks and food together, explaining that we wanted the appetizers and entrées to be served separately. After nearly 20 minutes, we still hadn't received any food. When it finally arrived, it was our entrées, not the appetizers. I pointed out to the bartender that we hadn't received our appetizers yet. He blamed the delay on my order of well-done sliders taking extra time, and then he brought out the appetizers without an apology or offer to correct the situation. He simply left everything on the table. For some, this might be acceptable, but as a chef, this is far from okay. Once again, the great food was marred by unprofessional, arrogant, and rude staff.

Yelp
Great place to go after shopping. Food was great, drinks were never empty, service was impeccable. We sat at the bar which I think always makes a difference with the quickness of service. Not overly loud, multiple tvs to watch various games.

Yelp
Always love coming here. The Food and service is always good. Their cocktails are some of my favorite!! Definitely recommend trying this place out! You won't be disappointed

Yelp
My husband and I met up with friends here and I love how cute the indoor booths are. I agree that it's trendy but chill like someone mentioned. The host station is lovely and the ladies were very nice as well as our waiter. I love the chopped knives for door handles. I ordered the Beets and Burrata and also the Tuscan Chopped Meatballs so everyone could try it and they both were very, very good. My husband and our friends all ordered burgers which they said were excellent as well. All in all, this was an awesome experience and I look forward to returning to try more of their delicious food.

Yelp
So we walk in to this really cool restaurant and the sign says; seat yourself. Great, so we start heading to a booth on the right and my husband decides to sit on the left. The 2 waitresses look at each other and roll their eyes, obviously we annoyed them. The girl that came to wait on us was Rachael, fortunately she decided to be nice. (The other one was Morgan). We were served promptly, side note there were only 3 other tables. We both ordered salads which were very fresh and tasty. Then we ordered burgers which were actually delicious. One thing that struck me as funny was the waitress didn't know how many ounces the burgers were but said it was half of the 1/2 burger, which then she said 6 ounces...I'm wondering if she even knew how many ounces to a 1/2 pound. I guess they don't teach this in school anymore. LOL. Overall it was really good but with the initial impression when we walked in, we would never come back. Not a good idea to let your customers see you being totally disrespectful.

Yelp
I wasn't impressed but I wasn't disappointed. My partner and I split the California burger, which they kindly plated separately for us. The burger was our favorite food of the night. We also ordered wings, fries, mac and cheese, and a caesar salad with grilled chicken. My partner loved the wings but I didn't because it tasted strongly of honey and no sauce was provided with them. The fries and mac and cheese were basic, nothing special. You can't really mess up a Caesar salad, it was good, the chicken made it better because of how tender and seasoned it was. If your looking for more of a casual dining option in Scottsdale this is your place!

Yelp
This is one of the best steak sandwiches and Hamburgers in the valley hands down. The prices are not bad and the atmosphere is great. We enjoyed great service with a nice green tea! The butter cake looks stunning but tasted like chalk and was dry! I had to send it back. For the record I haven't sent back a desert in my life so avoid the butter cake folks! Everything else is absolutely delicious and amazing

Yelp
My new favorite place to come and grab lunch at. We sat up at the bar and ordered the beet salad, truffle fries, and chicken pasta! Wow wow wow!! My mouth is watering as I write this. My mom and I came here to celebrate my birthday and I am dreaming to come back! This place is a must!

Yelp
First time in was during this lastest shopping Holiday. Arrived around 5:15 PM. Was able to view the menu prior to going in, so knew exactly what we wanted to order. Atmosphere was really inviting as far as the lighting, look and the open kitchen concept. Ordered the honey garlic and herb wings. Super yummy, just wished they were drenched in more of that great sauce! Shared a truffle cheeseburger which was absolutely divine. Reminded me of a Gordon Ramsey burger we use to crave in Vegas. Only bummer is that the burger is a little pricey and doesn't include a side. We shared a large order of salt & vinegar fries plus got extra truffle sauce to dip them in which was the perfect pairing. Met the GM who was hands on working with staff to get orders out to diners. Learned in speaking with her, this is their second location to open. Original location started in Nashville Tennessee. Definitely a "go to again" place. I'd suggest their Happy Hour to get some great deals. If not splitting a meal (like my son and I did) it can be fairly expensive but it's Scottsdale so to be expected.

Yelp
We wanted to try something new and be close to the Scotssdazzle holiday event and old town Scottsdale where we spent our late afternoon prior. So, I hopped on Yelp which allowed me to find this delicious option! We made a 6pm reservation but found ourselves very hungry just after 5. We checked in with the friendly host staff early and asked to be sat outside, despite making the reservation for inside. It was a bit of a wait but definitely worth it! While waiting, I asked for a glass of ice water and a hostess immediately brought it to me. Very kind! The waiting area was very comfortable with plush couches and plenty of people watching opportunities. We sat on very trendy bright green old fashioned looking armchairs right out front. We expected them to be soft and plush but were actually wooden. Still very comfortable but it was a surprise! Andrew greeted us within a few minutes with ice water and was ready to offer suggestions, chat with us about our evening plans and made us feel very welcomed. We started with the hand cut wings which were garlic honey and fantastic! So sticky, packed with flavor and served with house made ranch and blue cheese. Hubby ordered a local Peak hazy IPA and the steak sandwich while I enjoyed the chicken breast BLT - both served on a brioche bun. All were very good choices! We shared a large order of onion rings. Everything is served ala cart, and they were perfectly crispy, hot and delicious. I would prefer more onion vs. breading but they were still very good! The entire meal (beer, app, two entrees and a side) came to $82. Not cheap but expected for the area. Great service, menu and ideal location to all the fun of downtown Scottsdale.

Yelp
After doing some shopping at Fashion Square, fiancé & I decided to grab some dinner from Hand Cut. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the yellow seating in the lobby. The decor throughout the restaurant was elegant. The restaurant has outdoor seating right out front. We were seated immediately on a Saturday which is fantastic for Old Town Scottsdale. Our drinks were crafted perfectly - I really enjoyed my fiance's whiskey sour cocktail. The peach ambrosia was also strong with a floral finish. For dinner, I was able to sub the seared ahi for grilled chicken & loved it with the thai peanut dressing. Overall, Hand Cut is a solid restaurant & I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Yelp
Had a group of 6 meet for dinner. We had reservations which helped because they filled up fast. Our server was prompt and ready for our drink order and made some solid recommendations. Then she took our meal orders. 4 went for the flatiron steak, 2 went with burgers. Mine was lettuce wrapped since I'm doing the low carb thing. All food was quite flavorful and filling. The wine was excellent. Only 3 complaints to list. The bathrooms are single use and on a Friday night, there's a line. Consider a remodel. Second was the ambient noise level made conversation nearly impossible. Consider sound absorbing materials on the ceiling and walls. And lastly, they were out of a number of beers and wines on the menu. Not good when entering a weekend.

Yelp
Very nice place and excellent food. The service was very prompt and efficient. The place is a sports bar but definitely up two notches. Nice Ambiance, booths were padded and upholstered, couch like seats. Menu had a good selection of everything, food, beers, drinks, and bourbons. Great meal.

Yelp
Went with a party of 6 for linner. Apps, cocktails, lots of choices for burgers, all really good and tasty. Would go here again. Service was great.

Yelp
Not sure what has took me so long to try this restaurant because it was amazing!! Everything looked absolutely delicious that came out of the kitchen. The lettuce wrapped burger was a table favorite and the espresso martini was amazing. The sweet potato fries were the perfect side for sharing! The staff was nice and the restaurant was lively and clean.
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
A super yuppie upscale restaurant. And surprisingly good. The burger tasted wonderful. Whatever seasoning they put on it is really good. I wish the patty was thicker, I think it's 1/4lb. But it tastes great. The beer selection is so-so. They have one I like but you might not find one for you.

Yelp
Was craving a burger and have heard great things about Hand Cut. Made a reservation ahead of time, which was a good call because it gets really busy here. Service was great and the food was delicious. Lots of different burger combinations to choose from and I love how you can swap out the buns for a lettuce wrap instead. The burger itself was cooked exactly how I like it too. The sweet potato fries are a must try and a perfect size to share with the table (the large order). Overall a great spot to try and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went on 8/31/24. There was no line when we arrived and the place was about half full. The place has a chill ambiance. Low lights, relaxed atmosphere. There were no tables immediately available so we opted for the bar which is full service. Went to the restroom and they were little confusing on which restroom is which. They have a photo on the restrooms that we have to determine which is which. No big deal. We assumed they were unisex. Restroom was single use and clean. The bartender was kind. The drink I had was good. (Blackberry Mojito). My Partner had tried a new drink that she didn't end up liking and they replaced it with a whiskey sour, which was her preference. We ordered the Chicken BLT, Basalmic Tomato Bucatini and Butter Cake. All of the food was decent. Only thing was the butter cake was a little overcooked. The food was good but I don't think I would come again for that, but definitely to sit at the bar and have a nice drink with friend(s).

Yelp

Yelp
The food is good and they have a lot of options but everything is alacart . It's a funky sports bar with lots of drink options. A nice place to go for a burger on a night out or to meet up with friends.the servers are very accommodating and on top of their tables . There's also a lounge vibe to this restaurant.

Yelp
Had the steak salad. It is the perfect ratio of dressing, croutons, blue cheese, medium+ (my temp preference) steak and cranberries. Just so so good. And kept my sugar balanced. So win win. Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
Overall, way sub par. In addition... I asked about their "half off Tuesdays" (See this menu specifically Scottsdale location). They denied knowing about it.

Yelp
*Updated to my 5 Star review. **BEWARE! ** Unfortunately my family and I just had an extremely unprofessional experience at Hand cut Burger and Chophouse. I was taken advantage of, and left without a resolution. On 03/09/23 we dined here, had burger, fries side salad and drinks. Husband had a couple old fashioned's and my daughter and I each ordered a margarita. The waitress asked what kind of tequila we preferred, I answered an anejo, which I prefer to a blanco. (She also asked my husband his choice of bourbon, for his drink.) Drinks came, they were okay.. food was great as always. The bill came, and my husband noticed right away that there must of been a mistake. We were charged $98.00 for two margaritas. My husband brought his concern to our waitress, she agreed there must be a mistake. She went to ask the bar manager, and he confirmed that's how much the drink was. Evidently the bar used a high end tequila, without confirming the price with us first, NO WHERE ON THE MENU SHOWS THE PRICE OF SUCH A DRINK. First off, I would never put a high end tequila, in a margarita in the first place.. I would think the bar manager would of wanted to verify that. When we argued our point of being unaware of the price, and clearly should of been notified of the up charge, we got no where, the bar manager had told the waitress, that was the price and that was it. The next day, still upset by them deceiving us, I called the general manager the next day, the general manager said; "their policy in not to offend the customer, and tell them the price of the drink." (And I quote.) how ridiculous! Let me tell you I was offended by you not telling me the price of the drink! She was very unprofessional on the phone with me, and said there's nothing she could do, since I consumed the drink. Excuse me, I would of never ordered or "consumed," that drink had I known the price! In all honesty the margarita's weren't even that good! I've had $10 margs that were way better! In fact my daughter asked if her margarita could be spicy.. again bar manager.. this could of been a clue, that we weren't after a high end sipping tequila in our margaritas! You clearly took advantage, and made your own decisions to choose a high end tequila in our drinks! If we weren't given the information of the cost of the drink, until it showed on the bill, at the end of dinner, why wouldn't I consume a drink, that I ordered. My husband reached out to Riot Hospitality group, owners of this restaurant, in hopes to inform them of the experience and the general manager's policy of, "not telling the customer how much the drinks are," not to offend them. Again quoting the general manager. We have NOT gotten a call back from either the general manager, who said she would reach out to someone who would call us. She couldn't tell me "who," when I asked. Again she was incredibly unprofessional and not helpful at all. or the Riot group. I waited 6 days to write this review, in hope that there would be a resolution. Again very unprofessional! Will not be back. Would love to hear a response back from customer relations... crickets!

Yelp
Hand Cut is a great place in Old Town. Fun vibe. Music playing, energetic ambience. They bring out fun sparklers if it's your birthday! Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. There was a large group of us so we tried a lot of things. The Agua, Caliente, and the blackberry Mojito were big hits. So was the cold brew martini. Everyone loved the tempura zucchini and the spinach artichoke dip The biggest shocker was how good the little gem Caesar salad was. So much flavor and I loved the amount of cheese they put on it. The salmon was cooked to perfection. They put a perfect sear on the outside, making it crisp and so flavorful. I would go back there just for that.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant while in Scottsdale on a Saturday night. We made reservations online and arrived on time. We were.promply seated and served drinks from their well stocked bar. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the bone in New York steak with a side of mashed potatoes. My wife had the filet mignon. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The side of mashed potatoes was large enough for both of us to have a full serving. Looking around the restaurant, the burgers looked amazing. I definitely will try them on my next visit. This restaurant is very modern and quite busy. The seating was comfortable and relaxing. This restaurant isn't very quiet, probably due to the open floorplan but it isn't annoying loud. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but this is Scottsdale, and the prices are.in line with other restaurants. I definitely will return on my next trip and try out the other menu items as well as the burgers.

Yelp
Wow, this place is awesome all around. Price, food, people. One of my top stops in Scottsdale

Yelp
This place is very good! They are a bit expensive. However, worth the treat. My meal was $90 (thats just me, including tip). However, it was a bit cheaper since we went during happy hour (likely would have been over 100). We saved a few dollars on app. The spinach artichoke dip was amazing! We liked it very much. I had the truffle chefs cut steak. It was very truffle forward. It was so good but fair warning. Finally, I had the butter cake. The peaches were very good. The cake was slightly over done but still so good. Here's the issues we had. Firstly, they were out of coffee and it didn't seem like they could or were willing to make more. The waitress said she didnt know why they didnt have it. I don't know if it was equipment or a bit if laziness by our waitress. I'm stating that because of next issue. We instead order cokes. They were all so flat it was just soda water. We informed her and she said they would come off bill. My cosin asked if they could just change coke and bring it out. She said no she thinks the coke gun is broken. However, we were able to change to Dr Pepper, it was fine. So, it seems to me coke just needed to be changed. She was a bit absent minded she forgot a lot of request like BBQ, plates, menues, and my cousin ask for another blood Mary (which was so good, it never came). The final thing she did was she came and said she was about to leave and she wanted to close our tabs. We were finished eating but they were not done drinking. However, we agreeded. (We had drinks elsewhere) My Aunt ask they box the rest of Dip and desert. She took plates and about 35 mins later we went looking and apparently she trashed it and went home. I don't think she did this on purpose she was just absent minded and ready to go home. The resturant did step up and plate two replacements to go. So, that's why they get 4 stars and not lower. I think the waitress was having a off day. The food however was great and if service matched it would have been 5 stars.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. All the appetizers were amazing and they have a great drink selection. Atmosphere was fun and lively but not too loud. Location is perfect before a night out in old town. Service was exceptional! Angel was very nice and patient with my autistic friends. Will definitely be coming back!!

Yelp
1) Service was excellent! The Hostess was very friendly, then both waitresses that served us were very friendly and competent 2) Food was exceptional Steak Sandwich and California Burger were super! Butter Cake for dessert was a great choice and finished a beautiful meal. 3) Ambiance was nice ... the 3 very friendly and attractive young ladies that served us helped make the atmosphere better. Worth recommending ! Christian Jochum

Yelp
We had a reservation for a Wednesday night which i would say is needed to sit inside. We had quick and great service!! And the food was delicious. They have vegan options and gluten free options, so great place for anyone. The inside wasn't too dark - so good place for dad cause he wont have to break out of flashlight to read the menu. They also have physical menus.

Yelp
Had the truffle cheeseburger and the waffle old fashioned. Best meal I've had all week. Bartenders were super nice and attentive as well. Appreciated how the location was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of old town. Environment was excellent. Perfect Friday night dinner spot.

Yelp
For the price, this was a disappointing dining experience. The ambiance is fine but a bit noisy. We had a reservation and were seated quickly, but after that the service was incredibly slow. Our server seemed to have many tables and in looking around we were not the only ones waiting an unexpected amount of time for drinks and food. The burgers were okay flavor wise but nothing to write home about. And, having to pay additional for any sides considering a burger is $17 is wild. Additionally, our salads and fries didn't come out until we were nearly finished with our burgers. Our bill was $117 for three burgers and 3 sides, plus one glass of wine. Next time we will not choose this spot.

Yelp
Terrific food!! Great drinks. We love the tempura zucchini app and the various steaks they have on the menu. Been twice; food amazing both times and very good service. Will be back!

Yelp
I have to admit-- I lived RIGHT down the street from Hand Cut for a year (right above Prep & Pastry) and I NEVER came here. I knew it existed, but I had heard mixed reviews. Mostly that it was overpriced and a burger is a burger. So it wasn't high on my list of places to go. However, after moving to North Scottsdale, I was going to be at a Conference on a weekend down in the Old Town area. During the Saturday of the conference, we were given a 2 hour break to grab dinner somewhere. Given it was a Saturday night and other hungry conference-goers would all be heading to local restaurants, I knew I wanted a reservation. After looking on Open Table, this Hand Cut was one of the only options. So I booked a table for my boyfriend and I. A few hours before our reservation, two friends decided they would join us and I was easily able to adjust the reservation to 4 people. We were seated right away and our waitress was friendly and efficient. The burgers are served a la carte, but even when adding a half side of fries ($4), it's still very reasonable. I went with the Hand Cut Classic, and half side of salt & vinegar fries. While I waited for my meal, I also ordered a Peach Ambrosia drink. It was very sweet and tasty! However, I feel like nothing goes better with a burger than a beer or Coke, so I will opt out of getting a cocktail next time (although this place does have a very cocktail vibe to it!). The burger came out and it was FANTASTIC! Honestly, this may be the best burger I've had in the entire Valley (burgers are my fave and I am very picky). I honestly devoured the thing in probably 90 seconds. It was phenomenal-- perfectly juicy (although not overly greasy), incredibly flavorful, not oversized and just the right amount of sauce/toppings. I hadn't even finished it before I thought to myself "I can't wait to come back here!" (while simultaneously regretting that I neglected this gem the entire year I lived steps away from it). Fries were also very good! I didn't taste too much vinegar in them, but I was okay with that. They were also very flavorful and the perfect amount of food. My boyfriend and I also have a sweet tooth so we shared the Cheesecake. It wa very good! Light and refreshing-- much creamier than most cheesecakes, which I enjoyed. All told, I really cannot wait to come back here. If you are looking for the best burger in the Valley, I'd have a hard time thinking there is one that could top this. Love their portion sizes too. Given you're eating a burger and fries, you don't leave feeling like you need to be rolled out of here, but you are also leaving satisfied. That's tough for a burger joint to accomplish.

Yelp
Valerie our server was great! She was very helpful with suggestions concerning the burgers. We were hungry and scarfed down the burgers so quickly that I forgot to eat take photos. I ordered the California Burger with onions on the side. My husband ordered a Western Burger. We ordered a side of asparagus. There is an active bar scene with lots of people sitting comfortably in a square around TVs hung from the ceiling, it can be a little loud but fun
