Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

One of the best ice cream spots I’ve ever tried. I ordered the Salty Caramel Truffle on a very cold day, and it was still absolutely worth it. It's rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and salty. The flavors taste premium and indulgent in every bite. Even the small serving is quite generous, making it great value for the price. Definitely a must-try dessert stop when you’re in the area.

The ice cream was absolutely delicious fresh, creamy, and full of flavor with plenty of great options to choose from. We got the Orange Dream Cream and Monkey Business. The person who helped us was especially wonderful very nice, patient, and informative while we decided what to order. They took the time to answer our questions and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Great service and amazing ice cream I’ll definitely be coming back!

The ice cream was great. I think the seven dollar price tag was probably pretty normal. Would like to trash the tip jar and have people that charge seven dollars a scoop of ice cream actually pay their employees to be professional professionals without always asking us for money. We are broke wages haven’t gone up with what things cost and you want more money because you won’t pay your employees just like I’m not getting paid. We’re tired of it other than that. Your ice cream is great.

dippin dot's banana split as a malt; got the monkey business and it tastes exactly like a carbon copy of dippin dot's banana split, just doused with extra sugary goodness in loaded brownie and caramel chunks. just maybe a wee too much in "sugar" flavoring cause this thing is practically a cup of blended diabetes, definitely the thickest sweet-treat 🍨

Not gourmet ice cream but it’s not preservative filled 31 wonderful either lol! They have tons of flavors. I’ve had black cherry and black raspberry chunk. The ice cream is made daily and it’s great! I’ve also tried coffee which is great too! No it’s not gourmet but it tastes great and it’s freshly made. It isn’t expensive as you’d imagine. The small portion isn’t too small and it’s less than $7. They have a patio area with tables. Outside they usually play cool music. I love that this is a business that does not tolerate negative people and they emphasize it! Parking is validated in the adjacent parking structure.

This place is fantastic!! The staff is friendly knows what’s in all the ice cream, very knowledgeable. The ice cream was fresh, each with its own distinctive flavor . . . Super delicious. Open till 10pm every day, so a great late night snack. Come by and find your new favorite flavor.

Fantastic service and delicious, fresh made ice cream. I got the buckeye flavor and my wife got graham central. Both were delicious and even the small size was big! Best of all was the service. There was a long line but they moved through it so quickly. And I see why this place is so popular. Really friendly and great people! We will be back regularly (especially now that I know there’s free parking with validation)

Handels truly always hits! The abundance of flavors is overwhelming in the best way. I get to try something new every time. The strawberry cheesecake chunk is perfectly loaded with cheesecake bits. The new raspberry dream cream is both creamy and tart! The service here is particularly welcoming and accommodating. And bonus you get to shop the boulevard after with free parking validation! The exact experience you hope for when you venture out to get your ice cream fix in LA.

Flavors were good Ice cream was creamy and light Surprised they weren't as sweet as I thought they would be.

I grew up on the original store in Youngstown Ohio, so I always try the locations. Went tonight, Saturday around 6:30. There were two people working. Basically checking the box. Disappointed that they greeted no one, and did not even verbally acknowledge a thank you at the end. Ice cream was about half the size of a scoop that other locations provide. Won't be coming back to this location. Only went to this location because I was worried the flint Ridge location might be closed because of the fires Hope your experience is better. They do validate parking in the garage for 90 minutes if you do come here. And the ice cream is delicious as always.

This feels like the best ice cream I've ever had? Love that there are all the classic, nostalgic flavors from childhood, as well as new flavors to explore. It is so exciting to have free 90 minute parking in LA on a super fun street! Overall, ice cream is 10/10 and the staff are friendly and warm every visit. Bonus that there is also nice seating to hang at.

The best ice cream ever. Graham central station is a hard to beat flavor and service is always great here. Ambiance is always nice and such a great place for late night or anytime dessert.

Fabulous ice cream and fabulous portions. Is it kinda pricey, sure. If you want quality ice cream, this is the spot. I would not recommend this spot for young children because they will take for granted the high quality. Ages 12 and above for this gem. Adults with discerning tastes come on down! Many options of flavors and serving bowls and cones. Yummy. You take it to go or sit on outside tables so ambiance is not. Friendly and quick servers get your cream out pronto.

I love this ice cream! They have many options to choose from. They serve it by the scoop, floats, in cones, shakes etc. From classic to popular flavors you can't go wrong with what you choose. Some of my faves options are taro, chocolate, cotton candy, butter pecan, coffee and orange dream cream. They opened this location during summer, and place is always busy. The place is counter situation and outside seating only. Service is nice and quick. Parking on the building's garage or street parking.

This place is just great and right in my neighborhood. 42 flavors (at last count). HUGE portions and really great ice cream. Yum!! Friendly service too. And you can also sample a few flavors to help you make up your mind. Lots of different flavors and we liked it so much we decided try them all. Ten flavors so far... So far I've tried peach, black cherry, coffee chocolate chip and strawberry. All fantastic. My son had s'mores, salted caramel and orange cream. Yow. My wife had a mint chip sando, rocky road and monkey business(?) delicious. Go here and you won't be sorry. Great to beat the heat with a cool treat and validated parking for 90 minutes! We're going back again tonight.

Yum, yum, yum!!! Several flavors to choose from. First time here so I got the coffee chocolate chip ( didn't taste much coffee) and the vanilla made with Oreo ( definitely getting again because of the large pieces of Oreo cookies in it). 2 scoops which is considered a medium in a dish and I am full. Cost $6.95 Service was excellent. Ambiance... not much but I liked sitting outside. Seven tables to choose from. Shady thanks to the umbrellas. Free street parking but read the signs.

Disappointed with the Service at This Location I usually enjoy coming to this Handel's location since I live just five minutes away and visit frequently. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I came in 10 minutes before closing and asked for a milkshake, but the staff refused because they were closing soon. This makes no sense--making a milkshake takes less than three minutes, as it's just scooping ice cream and blending it. It's not like I was asking for a full meal that would require extensive cleanup. Also, there were a few customers eating nearby and one person who ordered before me, so it's not like they had cleaned up and I just came in and ordered inconveniently before closing. If there's a policy about not making certain items close to closing time, there should be a sign stating that clearly. On top of that, the staff member who denied my order was unnecessarily rude. I hope management either puts up proper signage or ensures the store offers full service until closing. It's disappointing to be turned away for something so simple, especially at a place I've enjoyed visiting regularly.

Welcome to the neighborhood! We stopped here on our way to another food pickup. Once we got past the numerous flavor choice, we selected a few samples. I tried the peach, blueberry cobbler and coffee. All were very good and I went with the 2 fruit flavors. They also have a few vegan options (vegan chocolate, sorbets and a watermelon ice). My kid got the chocolate peanut butter brownie. It's now #3 of his all time favorite ice cream flavors The scoop crew was very friendly and patient. They have a few shaded outdoor tables to sit and enjoy your treat, though that part of the neighborhood is a bit lacking in good scenery. Street Parking was a pain - however it looks like the idea is for you to park in the structure - and then get restaurant validation. We'll try that next time. I hope they stick around.

Came for a second time and found a new favorite flavor "Monkey Business", which is banana ice cream, caramel and brownies. It's delicious!! Did I mention they have validated parking in the garage? Love! 5 stars.

Handel's Homemade Ice Cream is officially open in Los Feliz and to celebrate, they had a fun and very generous grand opening day prize. If you were one of the 1st 100 people in line on 6/20, they gave you a gift card for a free small ice cream for an entire year! I live close by and already knew I love Handel's, so I figured why not! I went there at 9 am and was the 83rd person in line. The gift card is good for one small ice cream a week for the next 52 weeks! Coincidentally they have approximately 50 flavors to choose from. I am going to see if I can try out each one. Buckeye is already an early favorite for me. Handel's has been in business since 1945. They are originally from Ohio and currently are in 13 states. I have been to other locations in California but this new place is a short walk for me. Their new store is bright and colorful. They have a lovely outdoor patio for seating. Menus, flavors, and pictures are everwhere. They offer tastings. The ice cream is excellent. High quality with fresh, natural ingredients. They have so many great options to choose from. In fact, there are so many options, it may be hard to pick. But that's not a bad thing (at least for me). One aspect I really like about their menu is they have a wide assortment of options to choose from, including shakes, hurricanes (their take on blizzards), and sandwiches. There are lots of cone options. They even have a 4-scoop sampler which I tried the first time I went. Their prices are quite reasonable and their serving sizes are generous! Their location in Hollywood/Los Feliz is easy to park next to but they also have parking in the building their store is in. They are across the street from The Vista theater and is a perfect spot for a before/after movie treat. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you are in the area and haven't tried Handel's before, give them a shot! They are great!

The mixed berry sorbet was amazing, I'm so sad it's seasonal. Very minimal choices for dairy free. They have mango but it's not as good as the mixed berry one. Bf loved the green tea and the coffee flavors. Very friendly service. Validated parking.

One of my favorite ice cream brands! I can't believe someone opened a franchise here in Los Feliz/Hollywood. Best ice cream around. Use to have to grab some HANDEL's ice cream in Redondo Beach, Carlsbad and in Las Vegas, definitely far locations. Pretty much walk up to the window, find a nice ice cream server and order your ice cream. No seats or indoor seating. It's easy. They have a lot of flavors and also different sundaes, shakes and other ice cream products.

I knew I had to try Handel's now that they have opened a new location, and this recent heatwave was a prime time for ice cream. I went on a weekday evening, and thankfully there was no line (and several employees available to take orders). I first learned of Handel's when I would visit the South Bay and became a fan of their sundaes. They offer a wide selection of flavors and your standard scoops, milkshakes, and more elaborate concoctions like hurricanes and banana splits. There is some outdoor seating if you choose to eat your ice cream on site. I decided to go for a classic vanilla shake, and it was great! It was moderately thick, refreshing, and had a uniformly smooth texture. It was a perfect way to a cap a hot day, and I look forward to revisiting soon!

Was able to park right in front but they have free parking with purchase. Line was long but with multiple windows the line went fast. I had a medium mocha almond fudge ripple in a waffle bowl and it was delicious! I didn't realize the scoops were big so it was a lot of ice cream but the more the merrier I guess Hubby got the 4 scoop sampler. Orange dream cream, horchata, banana cream pie and I think Dulce de leche. This was perfect for an almost 90 degree day.

Food - Ice Cream is so delicious. Handel's is brand new in Hollywood and the Service Staff is still learning so we are going easy on them. Many ice cream flavors and this place is worth treating yourself to something special and sweet. Pricing is on the higher side for what you get but it's good ice cream. Ambiance is walk up to the window and order - there is some outside seating available to enjoy right-then-and-there! Hoping the service gets better - example, we ordered three things and all three were delivered at different times and the first person was already done with their sundae by the time the second item came. The third person in our party took their in the car since it was beyond reasonable for delivery. If Handel's can't get this right - then I would not support them. Let's see if they are aware and listening to make improvements.

I had an amazing experience. The ice cream was absolutely delicious--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. What made the visit even better was the excellent service of Isabella. She was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful in recommending flavors.

The quality of the ice cream is there but expect none of the mix-ins they claim in each flavor to be there in your scoop.

Just went yesterday! I first had Handel's at their Pasadena location, so it's great to finally have a local Handel's. The ice cream is DELICIOUS, and service was friendly and kind. They also have (shaded!) seating alongside the shop, which is a Godsend on a hot day. I will so be back.

Amazing, In line to receive free ice cream for a year! Up to 100 people and some. Thinking about it, it saves a little money in your pocket and there's nothing wrong with that, Thanks Handel's. There are so many flavors and a little fyi it doesn't upset your stomach (for those who are lactose). I do appreciate that Handel's has this little event for an introduction and to give back to the community rather then just opening its doors and expecting people to walk right on up which still you wouldn't be disappointed. Kenya was amazing, very relatable and made waiting in line fun! There was a lady who was very disrespectful to Kenya yet Kenya maintained her professionalism. The vibe here is cool, people excited to get free ice cream. There is a walk up window and patio seating on the side. There's free parking with a purchase if you ever come to visit which I do recommend and also street parking. Although, we didn't really have a great visit the first time the next couple times were great!

Damn, not sure if I got cheesecake Oreo or vanilla ice cream cause there's hardly any cheesecake bites or Oreos in mine. Smh

LOS FELIZ location is so close. They have multiple lines to take new orders. Friendly staff. Large choices of flavors. I can't believe they have Taro. 90 min free parking at the Elinor Luxury Apartments or street parking. I took home some pints! Taro. Mix of Coffee & Horchata.

Ice cream is very creamy! I love their creamier ice creams like caramel truffle and cookie dough. My personal fave was the Sunday. It was a luscious mix of nuts (I picked as a topping) and caramel. There's a line in the summer but it goes quick because they have so many windows. Parking can be validated for free for 90 mins. There isn't a tonne of seating outside but most people take it to go.

I found out about this ice cream place back when I was in Santa Clarita. Was so excited to know there is a location closer to home.

I like this location! Upon first glance you may be thinking to yourself "ughhhh where do I park??", but it's actually really easy, they validate parking in the building attached to the Handel's itself. So you just enter as if you were to park like you live in that apartment complex, then towards your left there are parking spots dedicated to general customer parking. The validation covers the entire parking fee. You could also do street parking, you could potentially score spots right in front, but that street is usually so busy I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle. The parking situation is really easy, though. Every time I've been there I have had no trouble finding parking within the parking structure, steps away from the Handel's location. They have a ton of flavors and you can ask for a sample. I don't know how many samples they give, but I only asked for one. I really enjoy their milkshakes. They also do wonderful sundaes. There is also a good amount of malt in their malt milkshakes. If you do get a bigger milkshake (like their monster milkshakes), make sure it's an amount you can finish in a day, the texture doesn't keep well in the freezer. The staff is friendly and I've had no issues. Some times of day are a little busier than others, but every time I've gone there has been no wait and the line moves very fast if there is one. They also deliver!

My big negative: value. I like ice cream like the next person; but, I'm not into paying exorbitant prices for tiny scoops of sugary processed food that seems to be the 'norm' with too many struggling Americans. I ordered two scoops thinking that would suffice and the quite nice lady stated "our smallest is two-and a-half scoops"! Wow! I thought. Plenty. However, their 'scoops' are like a melon-ball scoop. TINY. For approximately $5 I'm getting a tiny treat that makes Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Daz, etc.'s, pint prices seem less unreasonable. Yes, the window people were friendly. Yes, it's a walk-up service that goes quickly enough and sometimes, if you're lucky, there will be a few seats outside to sit. BUT, I couldn't sit outside that window without feeling a sucker, so I left. Plenty of 'choices' available - an American favorite: too many choices. Yet, the sucker-value is ridiculously high and I'm no longer a fan. It also helps to not be an addict or junky for sugary ultra-processed foods and sycophantic reviewing - I can say no to overspending and praising a business that can't seem to survive without persistent and pernicious inflation excuses.

I was greeted upon arrival. As I was about to scan the QR code the friendly staff member informed me that they also had a menu at the counter. Aurora was amazing! She was very nice and helpful and she let us know we could ask for samples. Her patience made me feel at ease while I figured out what flavor I wanted to order. It's always a treat to pass by for some ice cream. Free 90 minute parking and they have tables and chairs for you to have your treat.

Stopped by to grab ice cream after lunch at Home. Was surprised to see that the offered ice cream for dogs too! Pup loved it and we all left happy :)

Love this place! The ice cream is delicious and they regularly change up their speciality flavors so there is always something new to try. The staff is always really friendly and helpful and they validate parking for a free 90 minutes, so it makes it easy to visit. Also, they have ice cream for dogs that my dog absolutely loved. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone that loves great ice cream!

I am really glad to have found this location and it be so easy to get to. My little one and I came here after a physical therapy session at the nearby hospital. We shared a few different flavors of ice cream. The four flavors sampler is really the way to go. There was no line when we arrived. Shortly, after getting our order filled, there were plenty of people who were in line after us. There are some cute little tables and chairs, just along the side of the order retrieval windows. The only thing that I think was a little inconvenient was that I don't think that they have a restroom. so, my suggestion would be to bring lots of wipes and sanitizer. My little one needed to use the restroom so we ran down to the end of the block where the fish grill was and we begged them to let us in, to let us use their restroom facilities. There's a parking lot here and apparently they'll give you an hour free w a validation. Nice!

You can't go wrong with Handel's Homemade Ice Cream. Their ice cream is a must-try! My favorite is Monkey Business. For those who want a bit of everything, the sampler is an excellent choice. It lets you select 4 flavors to enjoy, making it perfect for trying a variety of their delicious creations. Handel's delivers a consistently delicious ice cream experience that keeps you coming back for more.

This is, hands down, the best ice cream in Los Feliz/Silverlake/NELA! It is so creamy! I love that they have interesting and unique flavors like apple pie and taro, but also amazing basics like chocolate chip cookie dough. I love the gingerbread cookie and the buckeye! The service is prompt and friendly. They have a bunch of tables outside to sit and eat. And PRO TIP! There is free validated parking in the building.
