Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream in Walnut Creek is a solid spot for a treat. The ice cream is super creamy and the flavors are rich, with a wide variety to choose from. I tried a couple and while they were definitely good, they were a bit too sweet for my taste. Still, the quality is there and the portions are generous. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, even with a line. It’s a fun place to stop by if you’re in the area and craving something indulgent

Handel’s Ice Cream is a must-visit in downtown Walnut Creek! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive—special shoutout to Danica , who was so patient and let us sample different flavors until we found our favorites. The ice cream is delicious, the store is spotless, and the ambiance is lively and welcoming. No wonder it’s always busy! Kudos to the owner for creating such a fantastic spot. Highly recommend!

Located next to the Cinemark Century theaters in Walnut Creek, this is another great addition to one of my favorite downtown eateries! Locust street has a fabulous selection of restaurants! Be sure to save room for dessert! Handel’s offers an extensive selection of flavors, be sure to try as many until you settle on two choices. My favorite is their blue monster, which is blue colored cookies and cream flavor? The second is their triple chocolate. Complete your order with a waffle cone. Check out my pictures for proof!

It was a very warm night in The Creek so it was time to try Handel’s to see what the fuss was about. The line was long though we were still served quickly and there are many choices for ice cream lovers. The layout of the place is initially confusing but we eventually ordered ice cream for myself and kids. I always laugh when so many flavors are available since I only want coffee ice cream and nothing else sounds good. So that’s what I got. The others ordered different flavors and they ranged from “pretty good” to “toss in the garbage”. Since that night, we have not been back and although I will certainly go again, my kids are not interested in going back at all. They claim it wasn’t that good, however, I think the real reason is they are bothered by the ridiculous Handel branded Cyber Truck that is often parked outside.

Been here twice now and I was impressed both times. The ice cream is dense, creamy, and they have a truely great selection of unique flavors. Staff is friendly and generous with the portions. This is now my favorite ice cream spot in the trivalley area.

I don't think I'm going to Shake Shack anymore. Food, service and ambience is definitely a night-and-day difference when you compare Shake Shack and Handel's desserts. When I walked in, the employees greeted me cheerfully and respectfully. It was my first time, so they gave me time to look through their menu. So many choices, so I definitely looked over all the choices and settled on Butter Pecan, Pumpkin Ripple, Mud Pie, and Cheesecake Made with Oreo. Much of the environment was welcoming and not oppressive. The employee handled my transaction with aplomb and I took a nice picture of the ice cream. If you don't want to stand there looking through all of the flavors, I have a picture for that in my review. I hope to come back and try out more flavors! First impressions are so important for a customer to come back, and I hope the employees stay friendly.

My husband and I have been coming to handles for a few months. The ice cream is delicious and they have so many options to choose from. Kate one of the Scoop Techs is awesome! She knows us by name❤️ we go a couple times a month. It’s pretty cool that she took the time out of her day to ask us our names a few weeks ago and today we walked in and she remembered who we were and remembered our names❤️ it adds an extra layer now when we go, we look forward to seeing her❤️

Friendly staff, delicious ice cream, a crispy cone, and generous servings. A great variety of flavors. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Returned to this Handel's location after 8 months and was pleasantly surprised! The ice cream was a perfect consistency, the staff was friendly and helpful, and since I went on a weekday evening, no line. As with other Handel's branches, lots of interesting flavors to choose from and good price for the volume/quality of ice cream. It seems like the issues I saw during the soft opening have been fixed. yay!

Yelp
I want to cut to the chase on my I am giving this place one star. When checking out with credit card, their point of sale system automatically tips a minimum of 10%, even if you decline. I confirmed this because I tried to complete the payment twice and it defaulted to 10% even if I clicked decline. This is called a "dark pattern" in software development, and either their POS provider or the manager has set it up that way. I think this is really disingenuous of the store That being said, the ice cream was good and the service was good as well. But unfortunately the checkout system has serious problems

Yelp
Long live handels !!! Hands down some of the best ice cream I've had! I love how generous they are with their scoops and also the selection they have. The inside is clean, bright, and spacious. The workers are nice and friendly, letting you try and sample their flavors. My favorites are the graham central station, monkey business and strawberry. It doesn't taste artificial and tastes like real fruit/ingredients. The 4-scoop sampler is a steal for $7.75 - I love to get this and share. :)

Janet T.

Yelp
Yummy homemade ice cream. My son loved it and I liked the four scoop sampler as I wanted to try different flavors. We were both so full after eating the ice cream. It was good. Would come back!

Yelp
So excited this place opened closer to us. I first ever tried Handels in Southwrn California and loved it then. This location is near Broadway St. close to all the shops and restaurants and plenty of parking in the area. Came in and it wasn't too busy. Big and clean area. There isn't any place to seat but a small counter booth to enjoy your ice cream. This is meant to enjoy outside the shop. Young lady allowed us to try a couple of ice cream. We did settle on chocoholik chunk and Grand central station pint to take home. Average pricing compared to other ice cream shops but great quality tasting ice cream. This is a new family favorite ice cream shop moving forward.

Desiree Ann Z.

Yelp
A really popular ice cream shop! They have a wide selection of flavors to choose from. Hard to choose, but a popular one is the Graham central station. I got the salty caramel truffle. The only vegan options I saw was the mango and strawberry sorbet. They have a baby cone-- perfect size for your babies and it's free! So cute Guy took our order all at the same time, tried to memorize it, only to get our order wrong and asked us again.. I definitely want to come back and try more of their flavors!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Whoa! I was excited to hear this ice cream shop was opening after I had browsed their menu online. There were so many flavors and really interesting ones too! My mother-in-law is visiting and wanted to treat our son to ice cream, so we decided to check this place out. We were a little disappointed that there is no seating. We were hoping for a nice place to sit and enjoy our ice cream but there is a bench or two outside and thankfully one was available. It's a pretty big shop, but it's full of freezers because they offer so many flavors! The menu is pretty extensive and they offer limited edition flavors as well, so make sure to look for those too. My mother-in-law and my husband both got a single scoop in a cone. It's huge! The staff told me it's actually 2.5 scoops. You can only order one flavor though unless you get the next size up. We were set to get our son a scoop, but then we saw the tasting flight! You can get 4 scoops (of 4 different flavors!) for $1 and change more than the single! So for just a tiny bit more you can have 4 scoops vs 2.5! This is such a good deal and was perfect for sharing with my son. We decided this would be the new go-to order when we come to share the tasting flight for my husband, our son and me! The Salted Caramel flavor was amazing. It was my favorite flavor I tried. It was pretty salty! I loved it. The coconut flavor was unique and delicious. We had to get a chocolate one because that's my son's favorite so we went with French Silk which was good. They let you try a sample of a few flavors as well. The staff member that helped us was so kind! He was the one that suggested the tasting flight and commented that it was a great deal plus you can get more flavors! Plus, he labeled the scoops which was really handy! I love this new addition to the area and can't wait to try more flavors! Welcome Handel's!

Yelp
Got the strawberry and pistachio this time around and it was delicious! On the sweeter side but the ice cream was decadent!

Chastity V.

Yelp
My new favorite ice cream place in Walnut Creek! I've been here 4 times now, and have loved all the flavors I've tried - and there are so many to choose from! I've brought friends here who have also become big fans. Very fair prices, free samples, and high quality ice cream with fresh ingredients. Service has usually been good and efficient. Here's what I've tried: -Banana Cream Pie 5/5 -Black Cherry 4/5 -Ooohh Dough 5/5 -Taro 5/5 You can't really go wrong, so try some samples and treat yourself! The waffle cones and waffle bowls were tasty, too.

Jacob R.

Yelp
(3.5 out of 5) Heard great things about this place... I just don't understand. I don't think it's amazing like people say it is. It's definitely good, but it's not crazy. Also expensive. Cool set up inside. Some of the workers have bad attitudes but oh well.

Selena S.

Yelp
used to love getting ice cream at handel's back when i lived in vegas and was shocked to see they have a location here. i got a sampler of cotton candy, snickerdoodle, vanilla with oreo, and french silk pie. snickerdoodle was by far my favorite!! they also have a military discount and it's 30%!! saved me a lot of money, thank you!

Trisha M.

Yelp
Close to the century parking lot so very convenient. Lots of flavors to choose from. Reasonable prices. My sister enjoyed her cherry ice cream. I got s'mores which was a little too sweet for my liking, but would definitely go back to try something else. Service is fast. Space is open and clean. Great new addition to the downtown Walnut Creek scene.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try Handel's after watching a movie at the Cinemark next door. Best decision ever! The customer service was excellent, fast and friendly while also double checking that what we ordered had no peanuts. Given the ton of flavor options, we went for the four scoop sampler which comes to about $2 per scoop. Given the size of these scoops, it was an amazing value. Most importantly, the quality of the ice cream was truly top tier - definitely one of the best dessert options in the area. Although there was no seating, the white and blue theme was clean and cool while giving off an ice-cream factory vibe. It is a great option for after lunch or dinner or perhaps after watching a show at the Lesher Arts Center. We will definitely be back for more!

Harold R.

Yelp
Store is next to the movie theatre. Got the four scoop sampler. They labeled each flavor in a clear plastic container so you know exactly what you are tasting. Good value for the amount of ice cream one receives. Over forty flavors. All sounding delicious. The lines got long but moved fast. Very blue color theme in the store. No seating. Just one counter you stand at. You may end up standing or walking while you eat. Serving sizes were substantial. I think with San Francisco Creamery, and Lottie's, Handel's now has a third option for great ice cream. The one advantage that San Francisco Creamery is seating. Handel's is definitely a regular dessert stop in Walnut Creek.

Geanna T.

Yelp
A good treat on a HOT day! I've wanted to give Handel's a try since I saw it in Walnut Creek so I'm glad I was able to do so! They have so many flavors, it made it so hard to choose one. However, I settled on a small dish of cheesecake with Oreo. First things first, I didn't find it to be that sweet which I loved! However I found the flavor of the oreo to be quite subtle. I would've enjoyed it more if there were more Oreos added! Maybe next time, I will try the sampler so I can get a variety of different flavors! They had so many other ones I wanted to try.

Patrick L.

Yelp
Lots of fun flavors and great service at Handel's! We got a small size of the Blue Monster and Black Cherry and got generous portions. Our toddler loves the Blue Monster,'but be warned that this flavor does stain the lips.

Kathryn G.

Yelp
So many flavors to choose from! Waiting in line while people taste 10 flavors is not fun. Love that they offer a 4 scoop to go pack to try many at once!

Rosie M.

Yelp
What a fantastic surprise!! We stumbled upon this ice cream shop because we were thinking about getting shakes, and then, bona, then looked up on Yelp, and we saw Handel's ice cream nearby. this visit was our first to this ice cream shop. I ordered a turtle sundae with caramel, hot fudge, pecans, whip, cream, and switched out the vanilla ice cream for spouse like a house flavored ice cream, which had chocolate peanut butter cups inside. The girls ordered a medium waffle cone with Ooooh Dough and a small dish with chocolate chip cookie dough. When the ice cream was prepared for us, we all took our first bites and were amazed. We don't get AMAZED by food very often. But, seriously, this ice cream is truly high quality. Every bite was so creamy!! We will be visiting again soon!!

Mellani L.

Yelp
I saw this new ice cream spot open up and since we were in the area on a super hot summer day to stop by and get some ice cream. Came here on a Friday around noon and there was no line. Initial thought when I came in was how uniquely set up it was. All the ice creams were hidden behind the counter. Typical ice cream shops you can see inside a widow the barrel of ice cream. Here you have a list of flavors and they have a ton!! I enjoyed the variety but at the same time felt it was overwhelming. I had so many choices and so many I wanted to try. I ended up getting a small Blue Monster. And let me tell you a small is like a large. It was huge. And second, the blue ice cream will turn your mouth, lips, tongue blue hahaha beware! It was good though. I think this is a great addition to walnut creek, the ice cream is delicious, the servings are huge and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
If you're in San Francisco, this is a must-try! Three of us decided to go here on the recommendation of our best friend's cousin, and it really set the tone for the beginning of our business trip. Coming from Hawaii, where we've had our fair share of amazing ice cream, we were curious to see if Handel's could measure up. Just waiting in line and watching the workers stack ice cream scoops on scoops and people's eyes light up as they took their first bite really built up the excitement. Even though the wait looked long, the line moved quickly, and the staff's friendly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. Don't tell Dave's ice cream, but in the words of my friend "this is better than Dave's." We were amazed at the generous portions - even the medium and small sizes were huge! The value for money was outstanding. Parking was easy to find, and if you're not staying long, there are convenient stalls right in front. We noticed a mix of tourists and locals, which made it clear that Handel's is beloved by many all over San Francisco. It was a great way to start off our business trip and end our first night in San Francisco. For anyone looking for an extraordinary ice cream experience, Handel's is a must-visit!

Yelp
I've heard of Handel's in LA but had never had the opportunity to try it, so here we are. I came on a Sunday afternoon and there was about a 5-10 minute wait with only 3 workers. It was a little chaotic, so I can only imagine how it's with lots of people. The layout is different than any ice cream store I've seen. For one, you cannot physically see the tubs of ice cream. All the ice cream is in the back. The registers are upfront upon entering, but you turn right behind the metal railing to sample the flavors. Once you decide, you get rung up at the cashier and then the ice cream is brought out to you. The menu is extensive with lots of classic flavors and a handful of more unique ones with fun toppings. I was able to sample a few and went with the strawberry cheesecake flavor. There was a lot of cheesecake chunks inside the ice cream, so I was pretty happy with it! Perfect for a hot day. Overall, a little pricey, but a nice treat. Shoutout to the workers today (who are probably still teenagers) and had to handle a grown woman throwing a fit about her ice cream melting too quickly and demanding a refund.

Mae-Elisa S.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! My husband and I wanted to check this place out when it was getting ready to open. The line was out the door. There are so many ice cream flavors, I ended up choosing the Graham Central Station. I thought it was very delicious and flavorful. The ice cream cone was okay! Be ready to stand in line for awhile because they are VERY busy. The only thing I thought was "eh", was the way the queue line worked. It seemed pretty disorganized and we couldn't tell where the line started or ended. But besides that, I think it's an ice cream place that is a must try, at least once!

Chris D.

Yelp
I used to live in Walnut Creek a few years ago so I came to meet a friend for dinner at one of my favorite places. I happened to have parked across from Handel's. I don't eat ice cream often but it looked very appetizing from the outside. When the dessert menu didn't look that great at the restaurant, I suggested we try Handel's. And I'm glad we did! The staff here are super friendly. They have an amazing selection of ice cream and they let you try different flavors. We each got "one scoop" in a bowl. And although it says one scoop it was like almost two. Perfect amount of ice cream and very reasonably priced. The ice cream itself was excellent. Will definitely be back to try some more flavors when in town!

J Christian E.

Yelp
So many flavors to choose from! Love the options and seasonal offerings. Service was super friendly and practically let me try all of the flavors. I ended up getting a classic Butter Pecan on a waffle cone. The ice cream is so soft and tasted so good, like pure unadulterated milky pecan. My go to spot for ice cream now after catching a movie at the theater.

Jessica G.

Yelp
I'm a fan! While shopping in Walnut Creek last weekend, I had a craving for something sweet. I saw on Yelp that Handel's had opened recently, so of course we had to check it out! The shop is located in the main shopping area of downtown so it's pretty easy to walk to no matter where you park. Once you enter, you'll join the line and can browse the menu signs. They have lots of different dessert offerings and I appreciated that they also had pictures posted of each flavor. It's not like smaller ice cream shops where you can see all the ice cream. Instead, when it's your turn, you'll go up to the counter and you can try any flavors. From there, the staff will go to the freezers to get the flavors for you. If you already know what you want, they'll lead you straight to the register so they can take your order. There were so many flavors to choose from and so many I wanted to try. It's so perfect that they offer a 4 mini scoop sampler for $7 (vs a single scoop at $6). These mini scoops were very much not mini and the sampler is definitely enough to share. Flavors we tried: + banana cream pie: such a good classic banana flavor. I wasn't really getting the marshmallow ripple but I did like the sugar cookie bits. + graham central station: my favorite of the bunch! Tasted like a honey teddy graham. The chocolate covered crunchies weren't very memorable but overall, this flavor was a great choice. + strawberry cheesecake chunk: tastes exactly like you'd expect! Strawberry ice cream with chunks of cheesecake in it. Kinda reminds me of getting cheesecake chunks as a topping at froyo places but the ice cream is much better. + lemon bar: my second fav, prob bc it still had the graham cracker ripple. I love the perfect tartness of the lemon, without it being too sour. Overall such a great set and really great quality ice cream. Excited to come back and try more!

Rita W.

Yelp
The search for a good mint ice cream without chips continues as Handel's doesn't have that... the husband says no one other than me wants that, but whatever. I've been excited about Handel's since I saw the sign pre-opening, and I'm glad we finally got to try it! The 4 scoop sampler is prob the best deal here since you get 4 different flavors / scoops for the price of a bit more than a small one waffle cone. The smalls here contain 3 small scoops- stacked neatly on one another. Please don't let it fall to the ground were my thoughts; luckily we were all skilled enough to consume our stacked ice cream scoops and cone with no mess. We tried the following- Black Cherry- cherry ice cream with cherry chunks. They also had another variation that adds on brownie bits and more, but I wanted my simple cheery. It was really good! Not overly sweet, creamy throughout. Delicious. Cotton Candy- cotton candy ice cream with mini rainbow chips. Def tastes as advertised! Pretty good, consistent throughout as well. Mint chip- my son loves his classics. He enjoyed this one as well. Rocky mocha blast- I had no idea my daughter chose a coffee ice cream, but I tried a bit and it was really good! Nice coffee/mocha flavor with bits in there, such as cookie dough. The line was long, but it moved quickly. They asked if we wanted to sample anything. Menus are throughout- both text and images. Simple yet eye pleasing interior. Limited seating/standing room to consume. They also have other stuff, such as shakes and more. A bit more flavors online than in person, but still plenty of flavors to choose from. Would come back again. I did hear some customers say other Handel locations give more for the small, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out, tho I'd be a bit happier if it was more!

Everett L.

Yelp
Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in Walnut Creek is a delightful new addition to the local dessert scene. With a fantastic array of flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chip, Cotton Candy, Vanilla Peanut Butter, and many more, there's something for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights of my visit was the four-plate sampler, priced at a reasonable $7.99. This sampler allows you to choose four different flavors, offering a great way to experience a variety of their creamy and sweet creations. The ice cream itself is exceptionally smooth, rich, and bursting with flavor. The best part is that you can sample all the flavors beforehand, ensuring you pick your absolute favorites. Overall, Handel's Homemade Ice Cream is a must-visit for any ice cream lover. The variety of flavors, the quality of the ice cream, and the unique sampler option make it a standout choice in Walnut Creek. Highly recommended!

Christina A.

Yelp
The good: A large assortment of homemade ice creams The flavors are unique and not replicated around this area The menu has sundaes, waffle cones, pints and quarts I would recommend the Monkey Business because it's like a banana pudding with chocolate There are vegan and lactose free options The bad: The line stations are in a terrible place. When people are checking out, the block the line entrance. I saw an older woman almost fall on the line sign. It's horrible. There were no sampling spoons today Their organization is so messy. You go into the line and order. The person stays "a meet you in front" you stand in the front waiting for the person to arrive when your ice cream and pay. You should pay when you order and then receive your ice cream. There's no where to sit to eat your ice cream. There's a wall table in a tiny enclave. I think there might be a bench. I'm not sure the 4 scoop sampler is worth the price. I think you would have more ice cream going with a single scoop. We get the pint to eat it later. It's great, but the employee who was scooping it took a long time because she had a tiny scoop. For pints and quarts, you should have a better instrument.

Alex L.

Yelp
First time trying Handel's! I wish I had found this place earlier. They have an overwhelming amount of frozen treats. I thought the pricing was reasonable. My friends got their ice cream, but I went with the chocolate dipped banana! We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a few people, but the wait was short. They had multiple staff members helping out. I'll be back again!

Jasmine B.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to the Handel's ice cream opening in Walnut Creek! Their soft opening was this past Thursday so they've only been open a few days. I love ice cream on a warm day and decided to see what the hype is about today since the weather is lovely. The ice cream is great and I like the variety of flavor options. Most of the ice cream flavors have a lot of stuff like mix ins, flavor ripples etc and to me it's akin to Ben and Jerry's type of ice cream. I ordered a four mini sampler of monkey business, buckeye, midnight madness, and coconut caramel delight. My favorites were the monkey business (unique banana flavor), midnight madness (good for chocolate lovers) and coconut caramel delight (love coconut). I really appreciate that they provide samples even though they are busy. I find some ice cream shops are reluctant to provide samples which makes it hard to decide what to order without trying. Pros: friendly staff, bright and clean inside, samples, large quantity of rotating flavors, they had a vegan option. Overall, it was a good experience and I'll be back soon. Welcome to the neighborhood, Handel's! I know you will be very successful here judging by the flavor of your ice cream and line out of the door! They will hold a grand opening sometime in May.

Fiona T.

Yelp
they have a lot of flavors that you can sample. There's a picture menu inside so you can see the flavors and what the ice cream looks like. I didn't see the chocolate covered banana on the menu but my friend got it. My small ooh dough was $6. The workers were on the younger side but they were all very professional.

Amee F.

Yelp
The sign on the door says open Sunday- Thursday 12-10pm and Friday/Saturday 12pm-11pm. Doesn't open at 11am. Still giving 5 stars

Steven K.

Yelp
This is such a fun addition to WC. So many wonderful flavors to try! The staff is super friendly

Taylor L.

Yelp
The ice cream is fine but nothing special, I find it lacks flavor. They advertise not skimping on scoops but they are significantly smaller than an average scoop. I ordered an extra thick malted shake, and it was very liquidy and I couldn't taste any of the malt. I also think that the staff could use some re training, they didn't know basic questions like could I have 2 flavors, or what a certain sundae was. I also saw a few staff chatting with customers that they clearly knew instead of helping other customers. Overall there are much better ice cream options in the area, I wouldn't recommend Handel's.

Sochietta K.

Yelp
Super excited to see Hansel's first time in the bay! Come from San Diego and loving this place, I had high hopes. Parking is paid street or garage. If there is a line it goes by fast. You walk in and get to see the inside then as you wait through the line you get to see the flavor to either try to pick out. When you get to the front, the friendly staff ask if you may to try any flavors. I say get your flavors in mind, this makes the process go faster. Once you tried the flavors of your heart content then you can either size, cone, sundae, etc. I wish my staff member told me I could do the 4 sampler scoop to go, which is the same price as the medium. So this is a note for those of you who want to try 4 flavors without the cone, get the sampler! Plus the scope were bigger in the smaller than the medium cup together which I thought was weird. This is why I only have 4 stars. What we ordered: Medium to go -2 scoops -Boyfriend loves cheesecake so my always go to is the strawberry cheesecake and the spouse like a house ( vanilla base ice cream with dipped chocolate pretzel balls, reminds me the smitten ice cream chocolate pretzel). The scoop size aren't great you can look at my photo. The top scoop are smalle

Jessica G.

Yelp
Some of the creamiest yet "chewy" ice cream I've ever had on this side of the bridge. Consistency reminds me of one of my fav ice cream parlors in SF, Swensen's (IYKYK). When you're greeted with a "hey" by friendly staff/ owners who already remember you, it's giving we love our customers (yes I've been there every day since opening day). Love the open concept and the unique size/style of their scoops. I will be working my way through their menu, not just sampling but trying a new scoop each time! Welcome to Walnut Creek Handel's! Ice cream LITERALLY solves everything

Cindy G.

Yelp
Since they opened there has always been a line out the door! I finally got a chance to try it and the staff is very friendly and efficient despite the big crowds. They have sooo many flavors it can be a little overwhelming. When I asked for a single scoop on a cone I was expecting just that, but my single scoop was actually three. They also stacked the scoops slanted to one side, although it was really cute and picture worthy the ice cream melted all over my hands and it was not great to eat it that way. I ended up throwing more than half away. I can't complain about the price because for $7 and some change for three scoops is a pretty good deal, but not all of us want that much ice cream. It's difficult to eat when your racing the clock and my overall experience was meh. I do plan to give Handles ice cream another try.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE Handel's ice cream! I always make sure to stop by whenever we're in the area. After a day of walking and shopping, it's the perfect way to end the day/night.

Yelp
Handel's four scoop sampler is something I will always look forward to! The ice cream list was extensive but definitely a bit chocolate heavy. I still had a lot of fun picking out my four flavors. The store gets packed but service was quick. There are counters to eat at by the window but there's no indoor seating.

Yelp
I just went here for the first time last night and let me tell you, best ice cream ever! There are so many flavors to choose from it's hard to pick just one. With that being said I got the 4 scoop sampler, which by the way was a great deal compared to the price you would pay for the same amount anywhere else. I got the Taro, Banana Cream Pie, Pistachio, and Cotton Candy. The Banana Cream Pie ice cream has to be one of the best flavors I've ever had anywhere and I don't really even like banana flavored stuff so that says a lot lol. There were a few flavors I wanted to try but they were sold out. I went right before they closed though so it's understandable. They also have little sample spoons so you can get a little taste before you make a selection. I 100% recommend this spot and definitely will be coming again!

Yelp
Best Ice cream in the bay hands down. I was always craving this since I left the east coast and it has somehow made its way to the Bay Area. This clears fentons, or another "famous fresh ice cream" that has your heart. Give handles a try they make every flavor in house daily

Yelp
I love their chocolate coffee chunk and banana cream pie. It gets a bit packed. Ambiance is ice cream making factory. No indoors seating.

Yelp
Top tier ice cream! Plenty of crew members for a Saturday night. Excellent service! The graham central station mixed with strawberry cheesecake is everything!!!

Yelp

Yelp
Three words: Graham Central Station I'd heard about Handel's and saw they opened up their first Bay Area location this summer. I hadn't been to the area for years but soon enough found myself on BART to Walnut Creek. This scoop shop has a wide variety of flavors to choose from at reasonable prices. Service was very friendly and the shop is clean and spacious with a few counters to eat at (no seating, but there are benches outside). I tried Graham Central Station, which had the perfect graham cracker flavor with the right amount of chocolate. I also tried Mud Pie, which was a coffee oreo flavor. Mud Pie was amiss for me as it didn't have a very pronounced coffee flavor at all, although the oreos had a nice crunch (Fenton's does this flavor combo best!). I would try other flavors next time to pair with Graham Central Station, which will be my go-to!

Yelp
The line moved quickly, the service was great--the staff was friendly and ensured us we were able to taste all the flavors we wanted before deciding. The mango sorbet was refreshing!

Yelp
First time trying this ice cream place! I got the monkey business flavor... I also tried the ooohh dough flavor and rocky mocha blast. I'm an ice cream lover & the flavors here didn't really hit as how I expected it to be. The ice cream melts so quickly compared to other ice cream chains. I didn't really like the texture as much. The service was good, but it wasn't really busy & the staff wasn't as friendly as I hoped them to be.

Yelp
Love their ice cream. Great flavors. Only downside was the server, an older guy with a lousy customer-facing attitude. All of the younger folks are great... not the old guy.

Yelp
We were walking back to our car from nearby Broadway Plaza and saw the crowd inside. The interior is very bright and inviting. There are large video screens with their fresh flavors along with some laminated placards. You follow the queue to waiting counter servers who ask if you'd like samples. Once you pick your flavor and cup/cone or shake, you make your way to the register and your server quickly brings you the ice cream. FYI- a small is two and a half scoops. We ordered the Buckeye cup and a vanilla raspberry chocolate chunk cup. The ice cream is rich and creamy. There are a lot of flavor choices and shakes/floats/malts. They also offer a Hurricane... we'll try that next time. This is a welcome addition to WC!
