Yelp
Handover by the Slice is a small slice shop that is located right off of King; in the evenings, they open up their bar, King's Ransom, located on their 2nd floor.
I saw this place while picking up lunch from an eatery next door, so I knew I had to stop by to check them out.
Their menu offers various appetizers (such as garlic knots, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, etc.), salads, specialty pizzas (by-the-slice or as a full 18" pie), as well as a build-your-own option (not by-the-slice, though, but for full 18" pies only).
The pizzas that they had available when I walked in were the Cheese, pepperoni, Veggie, White, Buffalo Chix, BBQ Chix, and the Daily Special (which was a combo of banana peppers and sausage) - I opted for the Buffalo Chix.
The slice was extremely large and generous, and it couldn't even fit in the slice container! The crust is crunchy, and in between a pan and a thin crust.
The toppings were just okay - I thought it was interesting that they used boneless battered chicken chunks as their toppings; not much of a buffalo sauce, and I wished they had more red onions. The slice was on the bland side, and adding Parm and the chili flakes only helped it slightly.
Even though the slice was heated, I think it should have been heated more as it was still slightly cold, because, you know, I like my items to be piping hot!
Service was very friendly, and there were counter seating and bar seating inside. I thought it was cool that they had two vintage arcade games.
I wouldn't be opposed to try them again for another slice, but would definitely request for the slice to be heated all the way through!
