Hank Sauce

Family ordered lunch take out and wasn’t disappointed by the food. Overall, the wait time was severely underestimated (which in this case was okay but if you have somewhere else to be, plan to spend at least 15 extra minutes waiting for your food). Staff wasn’t very friendly and the pick-up experience was a bit awkward. The restaurant lacked gluten free options. The food was good enough for a second trip but the atmosphere was just a bit off.

There was no shortage of delicious food here. Portion sizes were generous and you have access to all their hot sauce at the table. The crab and clam chowder had no shortage of seafood! The southwest shrimp tacos were also amazing with every sauce we tried. Staff was sweet and we're were served very quickly. We never come to this island but I'm glad we took a one off trip to come here. Gotta say though, this soup would be excellent on pasta :-)

Overall, a very disappointing experience. Online the menu looked really good. When we got there the girls working the counter obviously did not want to be there and they told us and all the people that came in after us that it was an hour long wait for food… we decided to order and wait the hour because it was only 5pm so we didn’t mind eating at 6pm… however, around 25mins go by our food was served. I don’t know if they were making it up that the wait was an hour or what but it definitely turned some people away when they said that. Also, the food was just very underwhelming. The chips were obviously store bought and I think the guac was too because it tasted days old… I ordered the Hawaiian pork tacos and they were kinda dry. I will say the Thai chili wings were good and I would get them again but that’s probably all I would get from this place is wings. Lastly, I just wanted to add that the kids menu is very limited which made it hard for us to order something for them.

The menu sounds great and appetizing, but the food itself is beyond subpar. The buffalo chicken dip was sweet and didn’t have any chicken… The wings were dry too and the only thing that was good was the celery and ranch…. The burrito was oddly sour and it wasn’t that good. Kinda disappointed because it was super expensive. My friend got the Rasta burger and said it was terrible too

Absolutely awesome, food was delicious, and fresh. We got the tacos on special, a rice bowl, and Mahi tuna melt. You need to try this place

Simply amazing! A must go if you are anywhere within 100 miles. Great use of sauces to add exceptional flavor to the food. And very interesting dishes. Not just the standards. Hank Sauce (the sauces) are all amazing as well and can make any food you are eating or cooking elevate to another level.

Home of the fantastic Hank Sauce. The food is just incredible, starting with the excellent wings and then the delicious selection of burgers. The opportunity to sample and purchase Hank sauces is a bonus. Plus the service is excellent and a special shout-out to JT.

Ordered takeout for a family gathering and it was a 1.5 hour wait so I'm glad we ordered before everyone was hungry. The shop is pretty small with a few tables inside, definitely geared towards carry out. Everything came as ordered and the food was great overall. The wings were well sauced and very meaty all around. Chicken tacos were delicious but needed a bit more flavor IMO. Buffalo chicken dip was great, the sweet glaze on top adds a welcome twist to a classic app. Next time we're in Sea Isle we'll definitely be coming back. Make sure to bring home some SAUCE.

I was looking forward to visiting Hank Sauce. I enjoy their sauce and rub as it's sold virtually everywhere. And after reading the reviews on this I was really anticipating a good (and hopefully great) meal. Unfortunately they missed the mark. I arrived a few minutes before open so was able to be first in line (there were already three to four people behind me at 12:00pm). I ordered Hank's Famous Buffalo Chicken Dip which was described as having: shredded chicken folded between layers of our secret multi-cheese blend - dusted with panko, drizzled with Thai Chili sauce, and baked to golden perfection - served with tortilla chips. I thought the Thai Chili sauce was a strange addition, but I decided to go for it. There was a large portion of the dip that seemed to be missing the panko, was very runny and really wasn't much to be excited about. The Thai Chili was really what ruined it. A bad combination. And to add insult to injury the chips are some of the worst, bland, bottom of the shelf in a grocery store chips. The wings were something that I was looking forward to as they were described to me as "double baked in the oven" and seasoned with their rub (which is a great rub). I should've trusted my instincts on this one as well...if you double fry a wing you can achieve a very crispy exterior. If you double bake a wing you can do this as well, but you need to cook them a bit longer. What I received were six (quite large) wings, that you could see the rub on, but on the rubbery skin it was nearly absent of the Hank's Heat sauce I had requested. I didn't opt for the $1.50 upcharge for Blue Cheese on the side and am glad I didn't. The rub was good but they would've been better had they been cooked until the skin at least rendered some and there had been sauce. Finally, the Hawaiian Pork Tacos: Hank-A-Q pulled pork, mango salsa, monterey jack cheddar, arugula, and strawberry reduction drizzle served on warm flour tortillas with chips. Theses came fairly close to the description. I'm not sure if they should have had a sauce or they just got cute with the "Hank-A-Q" name but they only had the "strawberry reduction drizzle" which paired with the mango salsa was cloyingly sweet. The pork was shredded and flavorless, at least the arugula gave it some sort of edge...also the corn chips were an unnecessary addition. The staff were polite but the food was far from anything I would consider good. Their portions are large so maybe that drives some to give higher ratings. They should stick to sauces, because they do those very well.

First time at Hank Sauce today and the food was delicious and fresh. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Simple ambiance, creating a perfect lunch time spot down the shore. The Buffalo chicken dip has an interesting spin with the Thai chili sauce, giving it a sweet tone. Plenty of chips and huge portion of dip. Ordered the mahi tacos, has fresh ingredients. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu.

Delicious and a wide range of tacos and allllll of the sauces. I do wish the sauces and caddies could go outside because some folks like to eat outside! Generous portion sizes and really enjoyed the fish tacos. Service is kind and quick.

Solid beach vacation food. Everything from scratch and super tasty. Burgers were a big hit. Wings were stellar. We had other things (quesadillas and a few other things) that were good because of the quality of the ingredients. Of course the sauces are great- though the hank burger (ordered twice) had a little less sauce than we'd like. Can't go wrong going to hank sauce! Will definitely be back every year. Staff is also super nice and welcoming.

Food was amazing, service/communication could be better. We ordered online, but had a bit of a challenge picking up. My husband had to drive over 2x due to poor communication, and even after waiting there it wasn't the best experience. We understand offering take out can be challenging, especially in the summer when everyone is on vacation. We had no problem with a long wait, we just wish they had a better system in place for alerting people on how long orders will take and when they are completed. The food was delicious! I had a rice bowl with the herb infused sauce. I loved the meal! The only thing I would have changed was for an option to have all white meat chicken, since I don't always enjoy the dark meat. It was a large portion, and I was super full! Others in our party had tacos and wings. Everyone said their food was really, really good!

Decided to go here when the other place we wanted stopped serving food. It's a cute place. We were lucky to get a sidewalk table since they only have two. It's all take out. Not sure about delivery. I had the portobello melt. Delicious but messy. The BBQ sauce was really good. Roll was fresh. My dining partner had the Hank burger and was very pleased. A little spicy. They have a pretty decent sized menu with a lot of choices. I'm limited because I can't handle spicy food and I'm allergic to mango. They have a lot of things that come with their homemade mango salsa. I can obviously get the item without it. Will definitely be back!

Food was amazing and I love the sauces! I tried their chicken fajita tacos and they were very good. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. I did takeout and it was great

I've been a fan of the hot sauce for many years, so I was excited to finally make it to the restaurant! To start, our server was great! She was extremely helpful and patient as we tried to figure out what we wanted. She brought over many sauce samples in addition to what was already provided on the table. The menu had a ton of options so there really is something for everyone. The food was delicious! The shrimp skewers with the hank-e-cue (their homemade bbq sauce-sweet and tangy) sauce was a great starter. A friend and I shared the Philly cheesesteak tacos and pulled chicken tacos. Both were great. The cheesesteak tacos had the steak very well cooked and topped with gooey cheese. The chicken tacos paired well with the hot sauces. We did order chips and guacamole on the side and it was a bit underwhelming. It wasn't bad, just not as good as the rest of my meal (I'm probably being a guac snob!). I bought the honey habanero sauce to bring home and I LOVE it! Definitely recommend. Be careful-a little bit goes s long way. It has a good bit of heat to it.

The staff was pretty nice! Only thing I did not love about it was it was kind of overpriced, and the food was really nothing special in my opinion. I got a shrimp skewer with a small piece of garlic bread for $11. I guess that's what happens when a corporate company who sells hot sauce tries to open up a restaurant

Hank has two good sauces, the original and Cilanktro, but the rest of their line all taste the same, and those two good sauces already taste very similar to each other. Come up with some new recipes Hank!

Great sauces, wide variety on their menu and cool merchandise. My favorites are the Hawaiian Pork Tacos, Mahi Mahi Tacos & Rice Bowls.

Best food I ever ate!! Everything is so fresh and hand crafted! Amazing flavors and combinations. You can't get anything like this food anywhere else. Not to mention the incredible hot sauces they make!! All around A++. I would eat here every week if I lived here.

Owned by Tom Hanks. Hanks for nothing Tom. Actually Hanks for everything because the sauce is absolutely delicious. Some of the better sauce I've ever had actually. I'm not sure what exactly goes into it or what it exactly is but it's very very good.

Get the Buffalo chicken dip appetizer. It's amazing. I wish I'd just made that my meal. I had the tuna burrito and it was kind of bland... definitely needed a sauce. The girls at the counter were not very friendly but they're very young. I don't really like when the side is a bag of chips, either. At least do some slaw or something. But overall I'd go again.

What can I say. Never had a bad meal. Always good. The scallops pinchos...mmmm. Everything I have gotten for years is good. Sauce of choice? Cilanktro

We always take many bottles home to Virginia so enjoy being able to eat in person and try the different sauces (though the original hot sauce is always my favorite). Had very good chicken tacos for lunch the day we arrived and our teenager loves the wings.

Had take out for a beach lunch for 6. I had the rice bowl with grilled Mahi-mahi and the chicken skewer with the hank a que sauce. There was plenty of food. The favorite was the ahi tuna sandwich. The boxed lunches were well prepared and the staff was friendly.

I have been buying hanks hot sauces for years and they are the best. I have only been to the restaurant a couple times. Both times my wife and i ordered the jerk chicken sandwich, ahi tuna tacos and wings. Everything has always been excellent. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you find yourself in sea isle.

Food was delicious. We both had the Hankville Chicken sandwich. Wow! Blue cheese crumbles, red onions, arugula. Blended 4 core sauces with honey. Thanks to the cooks and especially Megan and Caitlyn.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered a few appetizers to go for happy hour last week and were not disappointed. Each option was filled with flavor. From the wings with the herb hot sauce to the pinchos with a chili lime sauce, every bite was mouthwatering. Plus we had terrific customer service when picking up and even purchased hot sauce to go. Seriously we could not get enough. When traveling back to Sea Isle, we'll be stopping by Hank Sauce again!! (The photos do not do the flavors justice. Everything was incredibly delicious!)

Best burger I had in a long time. The wings are one of my favorites with choice of their well know hot sauces. Service was nice and friendly.

The sauce is good but the customer service is atrocious. I had reached out about my order about inputting something wrong and was lied to by an employee of the company. She told me that my order was shipped when it wasn't. (Got the proof when I finally received my package many weeks later.) The only thing I expect from a business is honesty. Unfortunately won't be supporting or recommending Hank's anymore.

The ahi tuna burrito was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. A perfect balance of meat and fresh plant based food. The sauce was mild and complimented the seared tuna. The tuna was cooked to perfection - still juicy and not over cooked or dry.

Always awesome food! My family always gets the Hank burger - which is awesome . In fact, everything we have tried from here has been delicious !! They use fresh ingredients and the Hank sauce is great as well!!

Apparently they have a problem with people ordering to-go and then sitting down in the restaurant. I think Hank needs to make up their mind if they are one or the other. They look more and usually beach tacos are a more walk-up service type of food/restaurant. Tacos were OK. Nothing special. Sorry. The best part of the experience was that the AC was superb! on a very hot Townsend's Inlet day. Hank, please make a decision on what kind of place you are and funk the place up. The counter is a good start. Fish tacos on the beach are meant for a more pfun and funky atmosphere. Drywall and fluorescent lights does not make for a great eating atmosphere.

Nothing special, understand it's the shore so prices are jacked up but $13-$17 burgers and sandwiches that are not much more than lots of brioche bread and some meat with potato chips isn't really worth the cost. I don't mind paying higher prices but the food needs to be better than just average. Food is ok, just not worth the costs. Heard the wings are solid but again $19 for 12 wings seemed liked a stretch.

My daughter ordered the Chicken Fajitas and there was a completely raw piece of chicken inside. Otherwise, food was fine.

Worth a detour stop to Sea Isle City while driving to the Wildwoods. My roommate from college's buddy owns the company and have loved the standard Hank sauce since 2012. I enjoy their food even more. Usually I'll order a cheesesteak with Hank sauce and just devour it, but this time I decided to try something new. I ordered the Island Tuna Burger (new for 2020) and I ordered a gem. The tuna burger grilled to a juicy medium topped with refreshing mango salsa and miso slaw. Can't wait for my next food adventure to the Hank.

In the past, this was our favorite place in Sea Isle. Chicken was raw & meal was way overpriced for what we got.

Have to throw some love at Hanks, they have been a bit of a newcomer in Townsend's - and I haven't been entirely happy about alot of the changes over the years. I have to say, this year they have changed my mind - and I love them, they are a welcomed part of our community as far as I'm concerned. The food and sauces here are seriously good. The people here are really nice. This is a very difficult time - and I thank God for them, things here right now are very challenging for everyone. Hanks provided very quality food, really excellent - we had everything, tacos, wings, burgers and sandwiches - with mahi and tuna - everything was superior... Right now the grocery stores have nothing and you can get gormet bbq from Hanks at a reasonable price I can't get over how really good the food and BBQ and sauces were - blown over! The people here are super friendly and helpful, they will call you immediately when your food is ready, they will accommodate order changes and substitutions I can't say enough good things about Hanks, if you are in Townsend's - please stop there - these are good people serving really good food, in a difficult time - doing good work, friendly with a helpful smile They have earned their place in Townsend's...

This place doesn't look like much, but their sauces have been an integral part of my life for a while now, so I was really excited to go. The first thing I ordered was a buffalo dip, which was really sweet, and not at all what I expected, but I kinda enjoyed it. Then came the chicken wings. Those were amazing! That said, they were hot. Like, really hot, and I eat a ton of hot stuff all the time. I wasn't deterred though. I finished the whole order, because there is something specially good about baked wings that no other wing can match. It was worth it. My only advice is to be aware that the spicy food in this place is actually spicy. I appreciate that their habanero sauce is hot, not merely a single habanero diluted in honey. Still, the food is not too hot to be enjoyed, and it's not heat for the sake of heat. Flavor is there too, and the mild sauces are really mild, so there is a choice for everyone. I'm definitely going back to try something else, and to buy a t-shirt!

Meh. Not that impressed. The food was fresh, but not particularly flavorful. Got the fish tacos. Seemed expensive. Fine service. They were busy. Seems like people like it, but I'm not sure I get it. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

Great spot for takeout! Tacos and wings were fantastic. Best to order online, we walked in to place our order. But the wait wasn't too bad. Not much outdoor seating, perfect grab and go... with the beach 2 blocks away!

Asked for a cheese steak. Received a partially burnt cheese-less steak. Also came with peppers and onions (might've been included on the menu didn't look but just be aware.) keepin it real, we didn't ask for a philly cheese steak. Just a simple cheese steak- cheese and steak.

Sadly, I drove 30-40 minutes to specifically to pick up a couple cases of sauces for gifts. I had no other business in SIC. The restaurant and store were open for takeout. I had to use the restroom and they told me first that they didn't have one, then when I questioned how that could be since they are a restaurant... they said I could not use it and that I had to go to the public one. The public restroom was blocks away and on my way home, so I left and didn't go back. I understand CoVID restrictions but restrooms are not one of them. Just trying to support local businesses ... not ready to wear Depends.

Big fan of Hank Sauce! Love their food! My favorite food to eat are the Sesame Tuna Tacos, Shrimp Pinchos... and their amazing Hank Burger. Make sure you order early because they can get busy!

We had such a great experience ordering miniature, signature bottles of Hank's for our wedding favors! Hanks Sauce has always had a special place in our hearts as lovers of hot sauce and sea isle - we were thankful that we were able to give our guests a little taste of something that we have bonded over in our relationship! The ordering experience was simple and straightforward, and our guests have given us so many complements! Would definitely recommend!

A local hidden gem Consistently good food, reasonably priced. A nice change from the usual pizza and sandwiches offered around town! Always fresh, pleasant staff and delivery.. even during busy summer season! You'll definitely have to wait for your order so make sure to order early! The long wait times prove why Hank's so good!

What a yummy place. Our group was quite diverse in age & tastes: Ahi tuna tacos Fish tacos Grilled cheese Wings Hamburger Everything was fresh & yummy and their Hank Sauces were also good. In fact, I bought them as gifts! Do try this establishment!

I can't rave about Hank Sauce enough. The product they offer and the store itself. Fantastic food, and a real home town feel. A MUST STOP every time we go to the beach. Wether we need to restock our supply, get some new stickers or new shirts, we always stop. The sauce is the best hot sauce I've ever had. Such amazing flavor and so unique. A wide variety of flavors and always improving their selection. But the best thing they offer is the Hank Seasoning. I literally put it on everything. From Eggs in the morning, to sandwiches for lunch and anything I cook for dinner. It adds a flavor like nothing I've ever had. I love this place and wish I could give it more stars.

Jerk chicken sandwich AMAZING!! First time there had a rice bowl it was ok. Hubby got the jerk chicken sandwich. Second time there we both got the jerk chicken sandwich! Gonna stop Saturday to pick one up for my son take it home to PA for him. Seriously almost as good as the jerk chicken in Jamaica!

Great food and awesome sauces. If you like hot sauce, this is a must try. They always have a couple specials that are not in the store, so highly suggest stopping in if you are in SIC.

Got a defective glass bottle and cut my finger while opening the one. I was standing there bleeding on the counter and floor and the girl was just watching. On top of that we waited an hour for two burgers and when we went inside to check they asked if it was under another name; hence they forgot about it. Food was good but experience was terrible.

What a great find! Was intrigued by the Hank Sauce window decals on cars all over the beach communities and tri-State area, so ordered takeout on our late summer beach drive. Amazing! We're just happy to have found a new, good place for seafood, if a bit different from our old, long ago closed favorites. Hank Sauce is a bit of a hole in the wall, but a pleasant alternative to the now common, over-priced, low quality, poor service seafood restaurants dotting the Jersey Shore. We had, sadly, truly given up on seafood down the shore. Fortunately we found Hank Sauce, and they get all our seafood business going forward! Try the Scallop Pinchot and grab a bottle of sauce for home!
