The 26 Best Restaurants in the San Fernando Valley | Eater LA

"With three locations in Sherman Oaks, Burbank, and Calabasas, Hank’s Bagels are taking over the Valley. Order any of the classic flavors or specialty offerings, like rosemary sea salt and everything jalapeño cheddar, and be on the lookout for any test batch flavors or daily specials. Enjoy bagels simply with cream cheese or make into a custom sandwich. Washing it all down with a glass of orange juice never hurts." - Mona Holmes

Hank’s Bagel Expands to a Much Larger Sherman Oaks Location | Eater LA

"A surprise Valley hit that opened late last year in Burbank, Hank’s Bagels quietly launched as a mostly takeaway spot for hand-rolled bagels served with schmear or as sandwiches and has quickly cemented itself in the Los Angeles bagel conversation. Owner Trevor Faris (formerly of the Artisanal Brewers Collective) says he’s expanding to keep up with demand after Valley dwellers frequently packed the scant 600-square-foot Burbank space and it’s not unusual for the shop to run out of inventory by 11 a.m. on weekends. The new Sherman Oaks address at 13545 Ventura Boulevard (the BLVD Kitchen location next to Boneyard Bistro) will be a much larger, roughly 3,000-square-foot site that will initially be taken up by production and takeaway so the team can bake lots more bagels; the plan is to take occupancy next month, increase production within about a month, and eventually open it as a fully outfitted second location with seating and possible new menu items, including house-smoked meats." - Farley Elliott

Love this place! Great service, super friendly staff, and the bagels are incredible — we’ve tried a few different kinds and they’re all amazing. Nice outdoor seating too if you want to sit and enjoy your bagel. Definitely one of the best bagel spots in the Valley!

The lox bagel is a surprisingly large amount of food! I actually had to share it with my partner. The style of bagel bread here is more on the chewier/tough side. Also, the rosemary salt bagel is delicious. Love how salt forward it is. Great customer service here, even when they are busy.

I’ve had Hanks bagels a few times I frequent the Sherman Oaks location, the staff is always very nice very helpful. The bagels are always fresh and really tasty and when they’re out of something, they always suggest something else which is very helpful. My only issue is the pricing $15 for a bagel sandwich is a bit much and it’s not even coming with a full meal It’s just a bagel sandwich by itself if you want chips and maybe a drink that’s obviously separate. So overall, I would give this place a solid, four stars out of five my issue is the pricing point. It’s a little too much for a bagel almost $20 is crazy.

I have ordered 3 bagels as follows: #2 (spicy) on rosmary with sea salt bagel, #3 without capers on everything bagel, and build your own bagel- blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese-for a picky eater. All bagels are freshly made daily here. The fillings are very big and generous. Our favorite turned out to be # 3 with lox and other fillings and the blueberry one is just heavenly delicious desert!!! The #2 is also very good but it is spicy, which I enjoyed. I also recommend to try rosemary and sea salt bagel very very good! The cashier told us there’s another Hank’s place in Burbank. Bottom line I highly recommend this bagel place!

The food is delicious, but they used to have much more cheese in their bagels! Look at the picture, there's almost no cheese on one side!

Great service, super crowded inside (rainy day), no indoor seating available, I ordered the #1 and I had a hot coffee, my total was about 11-13 bucks . Over all the sandwich was good, but the bagel was hard. Every bite I took, the ingredients would spill out the opposite end :-( I’d try them again, hopefully I’ll have a better bagel experience. They should consider keeping the bagels in a container with a lid on it until they need them instead of just having them out with the air exposure. That could have contributed to it.

Google
well i’m pissed! i sent someone for a SPECIFIC order and maybe for upcharging reasons so they could price it more but they gave me 2x the wrong order! They added 3 extra items to my order and even added things they put “no” to… so double check your orders and how they charge you because this is some sneaky shit.

Fabulous breakfast. A handmade bagel with a nice spread and a cup of coffee all for $10. Lovely spot to enjoy life.
