Fun atmosphere half outdoors and half indoor. Look like the inside of a car repair garage in tub clean nostalgic way. The staff literally bent over backwards to check on our drinks and check to see if we had everything we needed ask how our food was. At the end the waiter noticed I didn’t eat the bun on my smash burger. He asked if I didn’t like the bun but I am supposed to have a gluten free diet. He suggested a meat ball on top of fries because his wife doesn’t eat gluten either. The food was great the service was over the top and the place was spotless especially for a very busy Friday night. This place is a winner and the atmosphere is full of happy chatter and a celebratory atmosphere! A lot of Kansas City chiefs fans! Get there early because it fills up fast. You may have to look around for parking because parking was full near the building parking and on the street parking because they were so busy. We had to park across the street and walk across the crosswalk.

Hank’s Garage and Grill is a must for a fun relaxing evening with great food and drinks! The burgers are out of this world ! Best burger I have had in Kansas City and the included the Andy Reid burger from 1587. They have smash burgers won by a mile! Fries are equally good! Bartenders have great service and attitudes making the evening fun and enjoyable . Will definitely be back!!

Stopped in for lunch. Decided to sit inside. Really great vibe with this spot. An old diner or soda fountain spot meets a garage hangout with good tunes. The interior was well thought out no question. Was greeted immediately. Ordered the Hank's Original Burger. It's actually a double smashburger, and did not disappoint. Excellent tasting burger with the perfect potato roll bun. Service was very friendly, attentive, and with an easy going attitude that matched the vibe of the place. Highly recommended. I will be back!

Google
Dak was awesome and knew the menu well. Had great recommendations and those recommendations were on point! Their smashburger, loaded tots, frito pie, and fried dessert pie were incredible. They're all reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. All in all highly recommend hanks for a game day or high burger place in kc!

Google
This place was great! Absolutely love the spam fries and the banana ketchup was phenomenal. The menu is simple, burgers, fries, salads, nothing fancy, just very delicious. We tried two of the cocktails and while they were definitely tasty, they were incredibly small for the price, especially when you consider the amount of ice in the cups. (I believe the cups are 12oz.) Just be aware of the size before you order! Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back!

Google
Hank’s Garage and Grill is amazing! The food is flavorful and freshly prepared, from their juicy burgers to the loaded fries and unique bar bites. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with a great patio that’s dog-friendly and perfect for enjoying a sunny day. Plus, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, making it welcoming for everyone. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Google
In the running for the best burger I have ever had. That’s including the original onion burger spot in El Reno, OK. So happy to have you around. Update 3 months into business and things are hopping here, same great food. Wife tried one of the wraps Thai time and loved it.

Google
A unique retro-vintage bar and grill, with delectable menu options. Started with their shrimp cocktail, make sure you don’t drop your spoon like me so you can scoop up the goodness onto your saltines! Spam Fries were good, shined more with their banana ketchup. Burger was juicy, fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Service was outstanding, never had to ask for a refill, when asking for to-go boxes, server went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make our leftovers at home as enjoyable as the meal was at the restaurant.

Yelp
Tyler is a great manager! Made our experience here worthwhile! Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Take an old garage building and give it mid-century diner fixtures, add a bunch of TV's, an outdoor courtyard with a second bar, a small but interesting menu and voila - it's Hank's Garage & Grill. Who would have thought 20 years ago that downtown Shawnee, Kansas would be such a hip little neighborhood with so many food and drink options? Not me; but Hank's has certainly become a popular spot in this popular suburban neighborhood. My first attempt at visiting, I skipped because of a line out the door, today's Saturday mid afternoon visit was busy and boisterous but open seating was available during my stay. I sat at the bar and had multiple college f-ball games on multiple big screens. I ordered the "El Reno" smashburger named after an OKC suburb where onion burgers reign supreme. One of my favorite burgers ever was an onion burger at Tucker's in OKC and their version was just as wonderful. Cheesy, greasy, and loaded with cooked onions - beautiful. The tots were cooked perfectly and was the equivalent of 2 orders at most places. I also tried the Homemade Strawberry Cream soda. I was expecting a dirty soda type experience but it was served with their house made lemon-lime soda and some strawberry puree blended in - very refreshing - just don't expect any actual cream. A great experience, I wish I lived closer.

Yelp
I stopped back and my second visit was as good as the first! I sat at the bar and the service was quick. I had my Hanks Original burger within a couple of minute. The burger was smashed beautifully! It was juicy and flavorful! The whole meal was just the right size to fill me up but not sit too heavy! Good vibe, good service, good food!

Yelp
Food was really good! Got the El Reno burger and it came how I ordered it. Fries are skinny wedges and good ranch! Server was attentive and friendly. Helped us get a football game on the TV too

Yelp
The food is good. The beer selection is nice. I tell everyone about the spam fries. They are tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a cool place to hang out. The hot dog selection is awesome.

Yelp
A group of us walked in to Hanks Garage on a Friday night when the weather was super pleasant in KC. The wait for a table for 4 was about 30 minutes. Nothing a good convo and people watching can't take care of. I tried the Hanks Original Burger with fries, but I added grilled onions. The sauce on the burger was stellar! It was so tart and acidic, right up my alley. The fries were just OK in my opinion. They're basically steak fries in shape, but half the thickness. I would prefer them thicker. My partner also enjoyed his Pork Tenderloin sandwich as well. The menu is a little eclectic with Pasta dishes and Hot Dogs as well. I'd go back for the burger or explore something else on the menu.

Yelp
Every once in a while you stumble upon a restaurant that actually lives up to the insane hype built around it and my friends, Hanks is just that. A few months ago I had a lunch date with my husband and after going back and forth on local spots we both had been wanting to try we landed on Hank's. The worst thing about Hank's is the parking, which is what you'll encounter first. It's not their fault though, it's a popular part of downtown Shawnee and you should honestly expect to hunt a bit for a spot during peak hours. Once we found our spot we made our way in and found a short wait for a table. They could have seated us outside but it was just too hot for our taste so we didn't mind waiting. It's worth noting though, that Hank's boasts a large and well designed patio that I'm sure would make for excellent outdoor dining once the heat lifts. Once seated we had only what I can describe as a really great lunch. Everything from the server, to the local beers on tap, to the elevated pub fare, was honestly great. There is usually something I don't love but Hank's hit all the marks for me, and what really impressed us as parents was that the menu was really kid friendly too, which made us add this to our list of places we could bring the girls on a weekend and find a little something for everyone.

Yelp
Tucked into a renovated old automotive repair shop in the heart of Old Downtown Shawnee, this trendy new burger and beer spot is already making a name for itself. The industrial-chic space blends retro charm with a hip, laid-back vibe--complete with neon glow and retro-style seating that channels pure Americana nostalgia. We stopped in and were immediately impressed by the friendly, welcoming staff and the spacious layout. There's plenty of seating both inside and out, making it a perfect hangout spot no matter the weather. The menu is refreshingly simple, which lets the flavors shine. We tried Hank's Original Burger--juicy, flavorful, and cooked to order--alongside loaded tots that were the ultimate indulgence. The shrimp po' boy and spicy slaw added a nice Southern kick, balancing rich textures with tangy heat. To wash it all down, we paired our meals with a Torn Label Monk & Honey and an Old Spice beer--both brews that complemented the food perfectly. From the nostalgic touches to the made-to-order food and craft beer selection, this spot hits all the right notes. It's the kind of place you stumble upon once and know you'll be back. Highly recommend venturing over to give it a try!

Yelp
Awesome spot to hang out on a nice day! Hank's has great indoor/outdoor space available from high tops, low tops, and bars. Service was incredibly fast, and we had our entire meal and drinks within about 40 minutes. I had to try the "Hank" lager which is a partner beer with Alma Mader and a beer that fits Hank's vibes. The burgers were awesome and the kids enjoyed the fried hotdog meals. Definitely recommend! PS - they also have NFL Sunday Ticket which is a great perk on a beautiful Sunday afternoon

Yelp
Finally had the chance to stop in, and it was well worth the wait. Of course, we had to start with the spam fries, loved it with the banana ketchup. Otherwise we all had smash burgers and a shrimp po' boy. Everything was delicious! Loved the tots and fries, how can you can wrong there.

Yelp
First timer here and won't be a last timer!!! This place was amazing. We sat at the bar and the bartender that took car of us had to be the most attentive server I've ever had! Never had an empty drink, never had a problem. Just an amazing vibe on a cool Saturday night! You won't wanna miss out on this spot! I had a chicken Cesar salad wrap and it was delicious. Not to mention every vegetable I ate from this restaurant was FRESH!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The burger is really tasty. It's a different style, but so good. The atmosphere is a fun burger joint, but also kind of small. Blessing and a curse that because it's so popular that it stays crowded. Service was super quick and friendly.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
This is a very busy place on a nice weekend night, but because you can eat outside and enjoy the weather. It's small but has a lawn with games to hang out and grab a drink until you get a table. I got the po boy and it was absolutely perfect. The shrimp were large and plump, perfectly grilled. The fries are like the size and shape of steak fries but very thin, which I really enjoyed. I tried the lemon lime homemade soda, which just tasted like sprite, but not bad. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals and the pie with ice cream at the end. Would love to come back and try more of the menu.

Yelp
@hanksshawnee is the best new addition to @jimsalleybar and @king.g.kc restaurant group. The space is open, lots of TVs, and comfortable. We had to try the SPAM fries and they are perfect. Crispy outside and tender, soft spam inside. The banana ketchup had mixed reviews at the table. Alone it is a lot, but with the salty spam it is delicious. Then I was torn between the burger and the Po'Boy. Our great server gave me the inside scoop that you can get the Po'Boy as a wrap! All the flavor just less bread. It was great. The blackening spice pairs with the remoulade. Will get this again. The surprise was the flat fries! They are so good. It is like the updated version of a steak fry. The ratio of soft potato to crispy potato is ideal. Drinks the seventy-seven is an old school classic. The apricot Paloma is good, but sweeter than I was ready for. The lotus esprit was great. Clean, easy to drink and refreshing.

Yelp
Finally made it in for lunch! So glad it lived up to the hype!! We had a great lunch and will definitely be hitting this spot up frequently! We both ordered a beer and a sandwich. When asked if we wanted a glass for the beers I joked with the waiter. I ordered an old style isn't it sacrilegious to put that in a glass? He totally laughed and stated his opinion as well as a you'll never believe this story. Score one for a waitstaff with personality. Food came out very quick which is important for a mid week lunch date. Although we didn't have to get back to the grind nice to know you could if needed. I grabbed the shrimp po boy with spicy slaw. The Mrs got burger and upgraded to smothered tots. All the food was great and would order it again. But that makes me even more tuned in to coming back. Excited to try the nachos and one of there dogs. Great vibe and setting. The seat and stools are super comfy so will look ahead to landing a view of the TV for and game this fall and stacking up some empty cans while sitting in comfort and taking in some eats!! Thanks Hanks for being awesome!! Keep it up.

Yelp
Such a great place in Shawnee! Excellent patio, open doors when the weather is nice, prompt seating even when busy. They have an outdoor bar you can order from While you wait for a table and yard games as well. My husband and I were recently looking for a good hotdog place in KC and I'm glad this is it! I had their Chicago dog, which was authentic, and toys which were perfectly crispy. I was bummed they were out of their "wiener of the week" the Reuben Dog, but apparently they sell out of it by Saturday's if it's really popular. Great selection of beers and fun mixed drinks too.
google avatar

Shane G.

Yelp
Hank's is a cool retro style restaurant. It has a cool outdoor space and there own beer on tap. I tried the tenderloin and tots, which were delicious. The waitstaff was great, and the whole vibe is cool. I recommend you try it, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
The service is awesome! Everyone is sooo nice! I love the atmosphere. The tenderloin I had was sub par. My favorite sandwich is a great pork tenderloin. This one fell way short. I can't understand why you would use a beer batter on a pork tenderloin? The two just do not go together. They need to rethink their pork tenderloin. I also had a Blueberry Mojito. Blueberry Mojito looks great but is very sweet & I couldn't taste any rum. The next time I go, I'm getting one of their burgers. My son got a hamburger and it looked amazing and he said it was great. Just stay away from the tenderloin.

Yelp
Food - really good N tasty Service - excellent mid afternoon at the bar. (Not sure if it is the same IF packed). Ambiance - like stepping into a 50s diner that has better food and drinks than steak and don't shake. 1st time here on 4/23/25 - good selection of food and drinks with N/A options too. Smash burger was very tasty, tots were good, overall a great experience. Will have to drag friends here next time.

Yelp
What a cool place and much needed for downtown Shawnee, it has been missing a patio/restaurant. We got the el Reno burger and Chicago dog. The burger definitely stands up to a lot of burger joints in the KC area. Probably top 10 for sure! The fries are light and almost like a chip but worth getting! The server was really great and on top of everything! We will be coming back more and more to hang out on the patio and watch a game.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this new downtown Shawnee spot. They have done an amazing job with the remodel and it is darling inside and out. The food is very good but the menu is a little odd, def not your standard bar fare. Great cocktails!

Yelp
Went for lunch last Sunday. It was very busy! Every seat filled which was exciting but we were made to wait outside which I thought was odd. There was a lot of seating outdoors available with a few people out there but that wasn't offered as an option. We weren't sure if they just weren't ready for that part to be open yet? The menu is simple but that's what I prefer! They had two hamburger options and I think two hot dog options. My husband got their classic and I got the Reno. They are both really good but I loved the onions on the Reno. Their fries are different looking! I don't love a thick fry because they usually end up being soggy but these had a perfect crisp. I decided to get tots as my side. They were your average tot which is also what I prefer. My husband and I both got the strawberry cream soda which is made in house. It was just ok and one of the reasons for the 4 star. It wasn't very bubbly and could barely taste the strawberry. It seemed flat and watered down. Maybe we got a weird batch. I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again. The wait staff seemed a little stressed but they were pretty busy which is great. I would love to come back again and try a hot dog and the crazy looking spam fries!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been counting down the days until the opening of Hanks! As a proud resident of Shawnee I love seeing more and more local businesses popping up. This new hot spot is busy and rightfully so! Our first time trying we came at 11:30 and it was a 30 minute wait. We were starving so decided to come back the next day right at opening at 11am. We got seated with no problem. Interior is old school vintage antique car garage vibes. Lots of bright light from the garage doors that open to a fun outdoor area. Our waitress Annie was so kind and patient with our crew. Had to start with the spam fries with banana ketchup. So fun and interesting flavors. We got the Hanks burgers which is one of the best burgers I've had! Kids got the fried hot dogs and chicken tenders. Rave reviews from both my daughters. We ended with the fried cherry pie which was great. Will be coming back over and over again! Can't wait to enjoy their outdoor patio space as it warms up. Well done Hanks!

Yelp
So excited for this cool spot right in my backyard! Living in Shawnee, I drive by Hank's all the time and had been excitedly following along as it got closer to opening. My wife and I jumped at the chance to attend their soft opening. It was great! Fun atmosphere with good food and drinks (libations now available!) and very attentive service. I had the shrimp poboy and really enjoyed it, especially the sauce on the shrimp. Excited that they've had their grand opening in time for March Madness and I could already tell it's a good spot to watch a game. I imagine I will be here pretty often!
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
A+++++++ Few be been driving past this place for a while and I've been Champing at the bit to come by. Obviously they just opened and they are busy. But I HOPE they stay busy! I got their Hank Beer and it's a really good beer, duh, it's local and from Alma Mader, LOL. Both were tasty. My wife got the Apricot Paloma and it is divine. She then got the Zero to Sixty and they will definitely supercharge your engines, a tad too sweet for my tastes, but it'll get the blood pumping . As for the food, she got the Deborah dog and is so happy that this place is open so she can order this over and over. The French fries and THE best fries I think I've ever had. Sliced thin, but not shoestring. They are more like thinly sliced wedges. I'll get these every time! I got the Hank's original burger and the coleslaw. THE BEST SMASH BUGER IN THE COUNTRY! The sauce has some sort of wasabi/horseradish...but it's light and not overwhelming. The coleslaw has jalepeno but again, it's light and not overpowering. It's busy, so it's loud, but the decor is not overbearing and tasteful. The staff is really n their toes and killing it tonight. I'll definitely be back, and the fact that this is a walking distance from my house just makes it better.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Hanks is busy for a good reason! The classic car/garage vibes, the community space, the cold beers, the snacks and the patio. Great location with lots of walkable bars and restaurants. Parking can be tricky but doable. TVs to enjoy your favorite sports ball. Do they have happy hour deals? I'll have to check ... Will def be back for beers with friends!
google avatar

Betty C.

Yelp
Hanks is so cool! They have an outside patio area and inside seating of course. The inside has tvs everywhere for various sporting games. The outside is made of containers I believe and it's pretty cool. The food is really good! They have a dog of the week, so a different hot dog each week which is pretty cool. I opted to just got the Sonoran hot dog and boy that thing is loaded and did not disappoint!! lol. We also got the chicken avocado salad wrap which was very refreshing. And finally, the spam fries!!! The presentation is hilarious and perfect and I love it. The fries themselves are actually spam and surprisingly good! This place is great to take your kids, as they can run around in the grass outside but also a younger crowd or any age really! Would definitely come back!

Yelp
We began our afternoon with the trip to Hank's Garage and Grill, and were relieved to find minimal wait time, thanks to our earlier arrival. Despite not being a fan of cheeseburgers, I decided to try one and was impressed by its smashburger-like quality. Additionally, the tater tots were exceptional being both crispy and hot. The menu consist of a few appetizers spam fries with banana ketchup seems to be a favorite. Three different varieties of hotdog are on the menu, salads and wraps, and the smash burger's seem to be a popular item. There is a wide selection of drinks from draft beers to cans , bottles and several cocktails on the menu. Hank's is undoubtably a hotspot in downtown Shawnee. if you're looking for somewhere to have drinks and eat with friends and relax on the patio Hanks garage and grill will fulfill your needs.

Yelp
This is my third time to Hanks but first time posting about it. LOVE the smashburger, the tots, gin cocktail and such a fun environment. Staff is always attentive and friendly. If you haven't gone, run don't walk and try it! (recommendation: get there early!)
google avatar

Rachael H.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for a patio to enjoy the warmer weather in KC and boy, this one did not disappoint. Had to reserve my first ever spam experience for the spam fries and wow, I'm not sure I'd eat it any other way! The banana ketchup was so interesting and a great tangy paring with the perfectly crispy (yet not breaded) spam fries. As for the main course, I believe my exact words were "I think this is the best burger I've had in KC". All paired so nicely with great service and a JOCO juice hazy. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Delicious smashburgers, drinks, and service! Hanks is a cool spot in KC to visit. I love their open concept, but was very shocked by how small it was inside. The Pink Pegasus cocktail was light and refreshing, made with their house strawberry soda which was very good! I got the Reno smashburger and it was delicious. The tots were average, my husband got the fries, and they are thin and crispy. I will get that next time as a side! The service was amazing, they were all very nice and attentive. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe at Hanks and will be back!
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
An absolute gem! I am so excited Hank's is finally open! We went the first weekend it opened and it was packed, as it should be! The weather was beautiful, March Madness was on all the TVs, and it was the perfect atmosphere for a nice spring weekend! Not only were the vibes and the atmosphere so fun, but the food and drinks were excellent! I had a cocktail and have been drooling just thinking about it ever since. I was pleasantly surprised to see impossible meat options as a substitute for the burgers and wow do they know how to make a burger and fries! The burger was huge, I couldn't finish it, but I can't wait to go back for another. This is sure to be the most fun neighborhood hangout for watching sports or a night out with friends/family for some great food and drinks and fun vibes. Can't recommend enough!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great first experience at Hank's. It was busy because of the beautiful weather and football games on tv but we got in quickly and the service was fantastic. I love a small menu where everything is done well, that's what you get at Hank's. Quality, friendly, delicious, great indoor/outdoor vibes. Will go again!

Yelp
Hank's is a cool spot. I wish the food were better. I had my doubts from the jump, when I took a sip of my iced tea and I could taste preservative. It was either instant or from a fountain. Not a good start. We started with the tempura vegetables, and the tempura batter was flavorless. A generous dusting of salt helped some. The dipping sauce had a weird note that I couldn't recognize, maybe an herb? I don't know, but I did not like it. The Hank's burger was a decent smashburger. The special sauce tastes a lot like cocktail sauce, though, which was a surprise. The fries were kinda wide, thin strips of potato fried to an *almost* crisp texture. They're like a bizarre steak fry, cottage fry, homemade potato chip hybrid. But is there anything better than hand-cut fries? Just do that. The classic Chicago dog was exactly what a Chicago dog should be and I recommend it. Our server was good, no issues there. They have limited parking spots at the restaurant, but you can park across the road at City Hall.

Yelp
After a bit of shopping my friend and I decided to go get a couple of drinks. We were googling spots and the 1st place we went to we decided against so googled once again-my friend said Hank's Garage and I said "Yes!" I just saw a post on IG and it did look cool. We drove to Shawnee and it was located in their downtown area. We hadn't been down there before so I'm not familiar with the area-we finally found Hanks but the parking was a bit confusing at first, the spots in front of restaurant is back in only. We hadn't to make another trip around the block because there was a car right behind us as we noticed it was back in only. We ended up parking down the street-off to the side. There isn't a lot of parking spots by restaurant. The restaurant was a good size from what you can see on the outside. There's a patio with an outdoor bar/tables and an area for playing games maybe-I'm not too sure. We walked up to the entrance and we were greeted at the hostess stand. The Hostess told us that we could sit wherever. We chose a table in the restaurant by the patio-they have big garage doors and they were open for the nice weather. We were greeted promptly by a server who was friendly, we took a look at the menu and she even suggested some drinks. I had the Lotus Esprit(I'm not a gin drinker but the server said you really couldn't taste it) it was light and fresh tasting and my friends had the Punk Pegasus. We both enjoyed our drinks. We decided on the Spam fries and the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail. The Spam Fries had a banana dipping sauce which was unique-the appetizer came in a Spam tin. It was definitely a unique appetizer, I would have it again but with a beer. The Shrimp Cocktail tasted fresh and was served with Crackers. Everything was great..food, drink and atmosphere plus the employees! We were checked on often and our waters were topped off and dirty dishes picked up by staff. Hanks has a cool Vintage feel, drink and food were priced decent. We definitely will go back.

Yelp
hank's is a great addition to the johnson dr. & nieman rd. corner! would recommend the the spam fries to start off. it comes with orange banana sauce. sounds different but give it a try. the hank's classic is a phenomenal burger. soft and juicy. the kids menu is robust and useful for options for kids. speaking of kids: it's kid friendly! if you're into beer, the selection is cool. would recommend the hank's lager. while it may look busy depending on when you go, the service is quick and accommodating. there's a ton of tvs, which is optimal for game day. not too loud but a steady buzz throughout. the outdoor seating is sweet, too. parking may look limiting but park across the steer at city hall. it's fine. great place! highly recommend!

Yelp
So happy with this visit! I got a pink pegasus to drink and it was fabulous. Sweet but not overly sweet. To eat I had the Hanks original burger with tots. The tots were just normal tots, which are delicious. The burger was topped with chopped pickles, lettuce and a special sauce. I'd I'd know the sauce was that good, I would have seen if I could get a side for my fries. A friend ordered spam fries so I gave them a try. I didn't love them (I think the sauce for them turned me off because I don't like bananas), but I can see why people seem to love them. Our server was great too. And the restaurant is clean with some relaxed vibes.

Yelp
Hank's was everything I hoped it would be! It was busy, of course, on a Saturday night during peak hours but for a table of two we only had to wait a few minutes. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a Michelada, which was spicy, but that's how I like mine. I also had a margarita which was a tad sweet but it was still good. I had a hot dog and my husband ordered a burger with fries. The fries were epic. The food was good and the came out in a timely manner but was definitely fresh. I loved the ambiance! It felt casual and laid back, yet fun and welcoming. This is the same owner as Jim's and King G's, which both have cool vibes, so I expected the same. Our experience was great and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Food portions are small and expensive. Food was okay. Service was pretty good. Menu is very small. I wouldn't go again. The building design is fun. More for beer drinkers, sports and light bites.

Yelp
One of the best smash burgers I have had in Kansas City. Loved the diner feel. The spam fries are a nice touch. Loved my strawberry lemonade cocktail. Good refresher. Service is a little slow but to be expected with a brand new spot. Can't wait to stop in for another el Reno.

Yelp
Great venue and menu, everything is great-smash burgers, dog, beers and cocktails. Very popular spot, so parking is problrmatic. Absolutely worth it!

Yelp
We heard from friends down the street that they would be hosting a soft opening during the duck race and street fair this weekend! So of course our group ran over to try it. Overall I loved the vibe and the staff were fantastic. We got there right at 11am but didn't want to rush in so we waited for them to unlock and welcome in a few of us. They seated us right away and the kitchen and bar were getting the food out super quickly. We started with the Spam Fries and Tempera Vegetables to share. The batter on those veggies was fire and come to find out that it's the same on the pork tenderloin as well! For mains we tried a little of everything: The Chicago Dog with Fries, The Tenderloin with Fries, the Kid's sloppy Joes with an added side of Broccoli Rabe, and the Hank's Original with loaded fries. I think ordered the Homemade Fried Cherry Pie. I would highly recommend the tenderloin and the loaded fries! I can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer. That patio is calling my name.

Yelp
Great experience all around with a really fun vibe. Service was great too. I wish I had come during a game because there are TVs everywhere, even on the patio. The El Reno is the way to go. I am from OKC and love a good onion burger and this one did not disappoint.

Yelp
It's fine, I guess. Nothing to write home about. Overpriced for what you do get and the parking stinks

Yelp
So excited to have Hank's Garage open in Shawnee! Love the variety of the menu (though I do wish they'd add the Mac and Cheese from Jim's Alley Bar!) The layout is great and love the fenced in outdoor area for the littles. I hope they're already planning a second location further south in OP!

Yelp
I've been 4 times since they opened. The food, service, and atmosphere is always excellent. Expect a little bit of a wait depending on when you come because it's been quite busy since opening. Probably best to try to go on a week day if you want a less busy experience. The indoors and outdoor space allows for completly different experiences depending on your mood. My favorite spot is chilling outside in the yard on a beautiful spring day enjoying a few beers with friends.

Yelp
Smash burgers with cooked onions on top were delicious and very flavorful. Although the onions were delicious my only feedback would be less onions and not a mound on the burger. Ambiance was good with lots of tvs and an outside area. The service staff was hands down fantastic. They were pretty busy but still so attentive. I Highly recommend this little burger restaurant with a good drink selection.

Yelp
The only thing better than the smash burgers (hands-down the best in town) at Hank's is the staff. They're all amazing. Cold Coors on tap, the games are always on, and when the garage doors roll open you get that perfect cool breeze. We love this place. It's our favorite spot in town and we go at least once a week. Get the El Reno with tots. 100/10.

Yelp
Made it to Hank's tonight. Fortunately my parents got there a bit early and had gotten a seat by the time I got there (they waited 10 mins - it's popular!). I do wish they'd figured out a better parking situation I had to drive around a bit to find a spot. The space inside is cute and the service was quite prompt. Before I'd arrived they ordered the spam fries because they seemed interesting. I wasn't offended by them but they were definitely a weak point for me. Too salty (nature of spam) and I didn't think the sauce added anything. Great crunch though. For our meal, I got the blackened shrimp po'boy with fries, my mom got the El Reno with slaw, and my dad got the pork tenderloin with loaded tots. We all thought our food was quite good. The fries were thinly sliced so that was different but left me wondering why we don't do that cut more often. We ended by splitting a cherry hand pie with ice cream. It was really good. All in all, I think it's an amazing addition to downtown Shawnee and I think it will continue to be really popular. That said, it didn't knock my socks off. Everything was very solid, nothing groundbreaking. I will say there's something for everyone on the menu. So definitely recommend checking it out. The outdoor area will be great in the summer.
