A true Route 66 original, Hank’s has pressed onion burgers on the flat‑top since 1949. Celebrated by Tulsa World and beloved by generations for the Big Okie and six‑stack Okie Dokie, it’s pure Tulsa burger culture.

Google
Easy 5 stars. One of the best burgers I've ever had. The bun, was one of the best burger buns I've ever had. I'm glad I didn't have breakfast that morning, or I wouldn't have been able to finish, the double burger is A LOT of burger for your buck! Onion rings (GIANT) were great too, though slightly overcooked, but still delicious! I'll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our first dine in experience at Hank’s Hamburgers. We went for dinner and the food + service were absolutely amazing. The lady taking orders was extremely good! She communicated amazing and made sure we were aware and okay with everything that came on our meal, she made the suggestion of onion rings and they did NOT DISAPPOINT! Some of the tastiest onion rings around in my opinion - phenomenal taste. It is a smaller dine in area (doesn’t bother us) but they also have pickup available + DoorDash! Will absolutely be back!

Google
Best burgers in town, Hands down!!! You can never go wrong with the Hanks special! Better get onions both ways. If you’re up to it, the Okie. Don’t skip the okra either. If you don’t like okra, this will change your mind. Fried to perfection and seasoned the same. Just the right amount of salt and crunch to make you happier than you expected.

Google
Great old fashion burgers! Flavorful and juicy! The chili cheese tater tot’s are great as well they were not stingy with the chili and cheese and the the tater tot’s tasted fresh and clean cooked oil. I’ll definitely eat here again. Thank you.

Google
Got the double burger special comes with side and a drink. Everything was delicious totally recommend this place!

Google
This small diner is amazing! From the smell of the food cooking as you pull in, right to the last bite of the order is amazing! Definitely not going to be my last time ordering here, the staff were friendly and professional even though they were busy pushing out orders.

Google
Such an amazing old fashioned hamburger joint. We enjoyed a single burger with fries and neither one could finish them. They are generous with their fries and the burgers were delicious. Served hot and made to order.

Google
Great atmosphere for retro diner. They have a Big Okie = 4 patties, and the Okie Dokie is a whopping 6 patty burger!!!

Yelp
Great food, great service. Can not tell previous owners not still there.Have going to Hanks since early 90's. Has had 4-5 different owners. All have been consistently same great food and service.

Yelp
Pretty solid burger. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered a few miles away enroute and I t was ready by the time I paid. I can't speak to interior as I walked up to the carryout window and grabbed my burger to go.

Theresa D.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great cheeseburger. Prices are good, food is good, and service is fast and friendly. Thanks Hank!

Yelp
Very friendly staff and great burger. Was in town on business (From Texas) and wanted a burger and this was highly recommended on Yelp and did not disappoint.

Yelp
Ordered ahead as we were passing through Tulsa for a late lunch on our way to Missouri and glad we picked this place. Affordable, quick, and very tasty! We both got bacon cheeseburgers as well as onion rings to share and it filled us up! The lady who took my order wasn't necessarily super friendly or anything, but I'll ignore her lack of friendliness considering everything else.
google avatar

Yelp
Still kicking out amazing cheeseburgers! Been there twice recently and they have good food. Keep it up!!!

Yelp
The service is absolutely amazing and fast flowing every time I come in. The food has such good flavor and is truly one of a kind! If you haven't given this cute little hole in the wall burger shop a try, you definitely should!

Yelp
If you're ever in the area you need to try this place. They have the best burgers in town in my opinion. It's like the best burgers and fries that you'll have. It's like going back in time eating here. Very nostalgic and great food.
google avatar

Yelp
Great hamburgers and fries, it's a tiny place but nice and clean! Service was quick with a smile.

Yelp
Here's another old place in Tulsa, been around since 1949 or so. Now, this place can look a little sketchy on the outside; but on the inside, it's really kinda cute and very clean. The coney dog: This coney was a pretty good coney dog. The chili was very good tasting...and I'd eat a bowl of that; just as a chili. The hot dog; a beef hotdog; sure reminded me a Hebrew National hot dog. The burger: the bun was toasted and the way the burger was dressed, were the upsides to the burger. The burger is cooked on a flattop. And though the beef has an ok beef flavor. The burger itself is such a dry texture. And the tightness of the burger patty, has the pre-made, compact, super dense chew, that is far less than ideal. The fries were nothing special. And the okra was certainly cooked a bunch....But, put a little salt on the okra, there's something about it (that was very good).

Yelp
Hank's Hamburgers has been a Tulsa landmark since 1949. Hank's serves burgers with onions grilled directly to the meat. Claimed to be Tulsa's best burgers and malts. At least part of this claim is false. Hank's has not been serving malts for some times now since the malt machine broke which would cost $20,000 to replace. Hank's special burger is good. Is it the best burger in Tulsa? It depends on your preference. If you're talking old fashioned burger, then probably but if you're talking burger in general, then probably not. I think there are too many restaurants now that could give Hank's some serious competition. I do like the grilled onions on the burgers but I really need more. Hank's burgers are very "meaty" in general and the burgers are quite large. They really need to double bag the fried okra because the oil will soak through one bag or let it dry first before putting in the bag. Hank's is really affordable though. A combination meal which comes with a burger, drink, and side would run around $12-$13. You can't really beat that.

Yelp
Was recommended to visit by a coworker, was a bit of a drive but was 100% worth it! The burger was amazing, along with the tots and onion rings! The atmosphere was delightful and cheerful, even though we came closer to closing time than I realized. This may have been my first time here but absolutely won't be my last! It is an absolute gem of a restaurant !

Tessica M.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Burgers were juicy, and onion rings had great flavor. It is off of the beaten path, but so worth it!

Yelp
Hooray for great burgers!!! Yes, this place is old, small, and it definitely can use some upgrades. But you really don't think of that when you've got great burgers. Hanks burgers are doggone good! The fresh juicy patties, with the soft buns...can't beat it! The best burgers? Not sure. But what I know is FOR SURE I'll be takin my hubby here to try it out. He'll love it! AND! There is Ashley's Flea Market down the street! More than one reason to come to Hanks! Great service, juicy and cheap burgers. Thumbs UP!

Yelp
We came here for a quick lunch. I hadn't been here before and have been wanting to try them out. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. The food was delicious, we got our food fast also depending on the crowd they were serving. There's not a big place to sit inside unless you get there when they're not as busy. Overall I enjoy Hank's Hamburger's and look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
Hanks is so so good! Definitely my favorite burger place in Tulsa! I've only ever ordered on door dash and every time my food comes fresh and hot and I don't live close to Hanks at all. I order the Special (no raw onion for me + heavy mayo) and fries every time! The Hanks Special my mom said it's very good also but I didn't try it. The fries are thick and they have a tiny bit of seasoning on them. I really just don't think you can go wrong with anything from here. Just order your burger how you like it and enjoy! Good quality! Very delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
pretty good. best burgers in town. little kept gem on Admiral pl. check them out soon.

Yelp
Rude staff all the new people working here are rude! I'm done with it! Stand there talking ignoring customers then ask a question and the woman walks off! Parking is small and packed too! Food is greasier and greasier and grill don't even look clean. New owners NO BUENO

Amanda B.

Yelp
Haven't been in person but online order was good! I was hungover and ordered chili and cheese for my onion rings and I have no regrets. Burger rivaled Arnold's for me.
google avatar

Darren P.

Yelp
Could possibly be one of Tulsa's best hamburger joints. I'd call it a dive, because it's a hole in the wall mom and pop burger joint, but they've got dang good burgers. If you want hellofa delicious burger go here. If not, go waste money at sonic or McDonald's
google avatar

Ricardo J.

Yelp
There is no other way to describe the food here other than "if you have a burger here, it will probably be the best you ever have for the rest of your life." This has been a Tulsa institution since the late '40s/early '50s and they use the ORIGINAL griddle. That griddle is magically seasoned with decades of flavor. The space is cramped, but the service is excellent and the food makes you forget yourself for a while. You forget yourself, your troubles, all of it. Probably the best burger I have ever had, and definitely the best fried okra ever. All cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Amazing portions, especially considering the old school pricing. If you get a chance to come here, run here.

Yelp
Good ole Hank's really surprised me today. The burger was AWESOME and I had it made with double cheese as well. The place was super busy & my order took about 15 minutes to receive. The burger was easily one of the best I've ever had. It's just hard to beat a burger that's had the onion cooked in it. This place is for sure a must stop if your in Tulsa & looking for a good ole burger AAA+++++
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Absolute best tastiest juiciest burger in Oklahoma! Service is nice and immediate. The hot dogs are so good and the chili is super tasty. Fries, tots, and onion rings are also the best I've had so far!
google avatar

Chrysta J.

Yelp
Been here twice and was very satisfied both times...Great Burgers with affordable prices. The service is fantastic; always friendly and fast with the order taking. Hank's is a small burger spot with just a few places to sit but it's so worth it. If you drive down Admiral too fast you'll miss it so take your time finding this lil place because I'm sure you'll enjoy it too!!
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
New to the area. This is the best burger I've had in a while. A tiny place but man does it deliver. I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Found this local gem on my road trip through Oklahoma. Picked up lunch here and it was awesome. I decided getting a triple cheeseburger with tater tots, and it was huge! It was delicious as well. I think the Hank Special, which is a double cheeseburger and choice of tots or fries with a drink, is definitely the best deal here and plenty of food. Service was fast and prompt. Friendly too when asking for suggestions as well. Parking may be a little tight here, but definitely give this place a try!

David P.

Yelp
I was expecting so much more. The burger was fair, fries were below average. The coney was good and the chilli made it so but a slice of cold American cheese just didn't work. The tables were all dirty when I got there but I cleaned it myself. I really wanted an old fashioned fried onion burger with toasted bun and just a little grease dripping when you take a bite. Hanks just didn't check the boxes and was a little pricy.
google avatar

Trent S.

Yelp
If you want a great burger and fries, look no further than Hank's. They have a limited menu, but what they offer tastes great. Staff is very friendly and service is quick. Parking maybe a bit limited during peak times, but plenty of parking across the street. A few tables inside, may not be the best place for a large crowd, but great for families.
google avatar

Yelp
This small (hole in the wall) is sitting in a less than nice part of town near the airport and showing age. No trendy decor or menu items here. As I stood in line to order with the grill in full view I asked myself what am I seeing (or not seeing) that could make this place special and explain it's long history here. I ordered a Hank's half pound special with cheese, Mayo and grilled onions. And a side of onion rings I knew from the number of people already here in the small inside dining area and the line at the walk up window that I would be waiting for a while. The meat on the plancha looked fresh. The meat tasted fresh. Two patties made up the huge half pound burger with small dices of cooked onion glued to burger with dissolved yellow and lackluster cheese. The bun was soft and fresh and toasted on the cut side possibly being the best part of the burger. The onion rings were crispy and neither shined on or stunk up the plate. The fries are probably fresh but we're not special. The service was friendly and efficient. I cannot complain about anything here except perhaps the seating. The place is still in business but in my opinion not above average. I will not likely return but I do not dislike the place. It's kinda meh.

Yelp
In the hood but good. If you are in the mood for an old fashioned burger and greasy fried okra, Hank's is your place. Passing through Tulsa, I ordered the double cheeseburger and it was big. Pretty basic burger. I should've gotten the single. Lots of okra in the small order. Tasty but greasy. Service was friendly. The place is a dive. I left full for ten bucks.

Yelp
Ordered online. Sent my son to pick it up. Their had issues with the online system. So they took the order from him. Ended up shorting us food. Food is good. They were quick to fix order. Thank you!

Ryleigh B.

Yelp
Food was so good! Burgers and fries were great and fresh. Fried okra was a little bland but still nice and crunchy. The Service was great and love the history of the restaurant.

Rodney Smith S.

Yelp
I'm so upset I drove all the out to try this place for the 1st time and only to be told rudely they were not taking any more orders. They need to change there hours I want ever try this place now. Service is everything for me and they don't have that!

Bob B.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try based off of the reviews I have read. Located right on Route 66, it's in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood. It's also a pretty small building and can easily be missed. Parking was minimal. The building looked really run down from the outside but once inside, it was clean and looked like it had just recently had a remodel. Employees were really nice and personable. There is very limited seating so if you go during a busy time, you might have a problem getting a place to sit down. My wife ordered just a single burger. No drink or sides. I ordered a single with a drink and side of onion rings and the bill was a little over $25.00. I found out later that the best bargain is the combo meal which includes a double burger, side and drink for around $12.00. The burger was really good but the bun was so big it kind of overwhelmed the taste of the burger. I think a double would have eliminated that problem. The onion rings weren't hand battered, but more commercial style but they were actually pretty good. The couple sitting next to us said next time we eat there again, try the tots. Also got to watch a guy down the Okie Dokie burger while we were there. You decide if you think it is pricey, but I do plan on returning again. Next time I will do the combo meal though.

Steve B.

Yelp
The Big Okie is the absolute best Berger I've ever had. Have to cut it in half to get it into your mouth! The wife and I split one. You've got to try it, you won't be disappointed!!! Steve from Caney, Ks.

Yelp
Great burger dive. Excellent customer service, roadside, blue collar type place. Small dining room and kitchen is directly behind the cash stand and drink cooler. Great old school vibe. Come hungry and leave happy.

Mike F.

Yelp
Burgers were great as always. Service was okay. We ate inside. It's always a little awkward dining in at a place where everyone is speaking a foreign language around you. The place is looking old and a little run down, needs to be deep cleaned. Okra was way over cooked, but the manager fixed the problem.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Always love to eat local, and nothing is as local or longstanding as Hank's. Walk in, and if you are lucky, there is no line; I will call ahead next time, haha. They had a staff of three working at lunch (not much room for more) and making excellent burgers, fries, and rings. And for the quality of the food, pretty reasonably priced. I had the double chili cheeseburger, added extra raw onions and mustard with fries, and ordered onion rings to try and eat later. The burger was piping hot, the chili was flavorful, and was a really nice size, had to cut it in half. The fries were crisped and well seasoned, as were the onion rings, nothing was greasy. The folks working were very friendly, kept the tables clean and clear of trash, and were very nice to chat with. I will certainly be stopping by again next time I am in town.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Ok, this was a little off putting to be honest. Very small, very old school, like going back in time. No outside drinks. Not even water and it costs 25 cents for a water with ice. The bathrooms are kept under lock and key which you must ask for from behind the counter. The staff is very polite for sure. They bring the food to your table, offer to get you a refill on your drinks, always a thank you or a you're welcome. The gator tots were pretty good but the grease becomes overwhelming after a time. The burger was just a standard burger, nothing special. I wouldn't call this a must stop at locale.
google avatar

John E.

Yelp
Verrrrry nondescript, outta the way (though on old Route 66) place, that's been around since 1949. When it was last painted! Haha But we came for the hamburgers! We read. We saw. We conquered! We are "in", although the place seats only 10-15 ppl. Most get to go at the window. Quick attentive service. Mostly clean place. Food was as advertised. Flat top grilled burger had plenty of taste. Fresh toppings. Very fresh potato bun. On Dave Portnoy "One Bite" scale, 0-10, we gave it a very solid 7.8.

Robert S.

Yelp
While in high school, Hanks was across the street and back when we could roam. I can safely say I ate at Hanks a lot more often than I did at the cafeteria as did most of us. i appreciate Dennis for reviving this place and the hamburgers are just as good as I remember. If you are seeking and old fashion hamburger freshly made then Hank's is your place.

Yelp
First time in Tulsa love these burgers Nothing like a hometown burger joint I miss hometown mom and pop places

Yelp
We stopped here on a weekend getaway in Tulsa. We try to find new places to try when we're here, so we pulled up Yelp for ideas and suggestions. Hank's did not disappoint! I ordered a single with onion rings, and the hubby got Hank's half-pound Special with fried okra. We were both very happy with our choices. These are diner burgers, which my husband loves. The lady at the counter was so friendly! And the guys doing the cooking were quick. We had a great experience and would definitely come back!
google avatar

Trevor D.

Yelp
One of the best burgers in Oklahoma! It doesn't look the greatest on the outside but you can't beat the fresh buns and delicious meat and hot crispy tater tots. Service fast, very nice people too!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Ok, so I might be a big Yelp-ist. When I'm looking for good food I come to Yelp. I want to see what people are saying and where the best is. My family is new to Tulsa and we just don't know what the best is yet. We have to rely on word-of-mouth and let's face it, everyone has their own tastes. I have been getting all kinds of suggestions that have let me down as well as driving by places--see something new, let's try it--and it lets me down. Yelpers say Hank's is the best burger in Tulsa. Okay, I'm game. I knew it was going to be small and as Yelp says, "divey". Yelpers weren't lying. It was definitely small and "divey". And let me say it, Yelpers weren't lying. Hank's may be one of the best burgers I've ever had and definitely rivals everything in Tulsa. The place is small, old, but the people are friendly and the food was awesome. I WILL BE BACK!
google avatar

Branson B.

Yelp
Solid, old-school hamburger joint. Life-changing...no but glad a place like this still exists.
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
Ok... so the burger is an easy 4. I'm gonna go back and ask them not to toast the bun so long. But first round get the special. It is a double cheeseburger and I got it with onion rings and those onion rings are the bomb. That's what made this place hit the 5. When you got a damn good burger and then the sides are just there to back it up... oh ya! One of the guys got fried okra extra done and that's why he loves the place. Word of advice get there early or call ahead!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Great burger! Loved the flavors and freshness! It's a Tulsa staple in my books! Definitely will return in the future!
google avatar

Rob T.

Yelp
Had their special (half-pound with fries and drink) for $10 and I must admit it was not "really good" but "rrreeeeal good". Toasted buns and tasty patties made our friends jealous at lunch. You can also get a flavored tea (e.g., peach) for your drink, which is a nice twist instead of the usual Coke stuff, and it doesn't taste like a tea...tastes like a Snapple. Definitely would come here again if I'm in Tulsa.
