Hanok Review - Madison Park - Seattle - The Infatuation

"At this cozy Madison Park Korean spot, appetizers steal the show, like fried rice cakes with a donut-like chew on the inside and a caramelized sweet chili sauce on the outside. The fried ghimmari—peppery glass noodle bundles wrapped in seaweed and deep-fried—is another non-negotiable at Hanok. Share a larger entree or two, like dolsot bibimbap delivered in a sizzling skillet that leaves behind a crispy rice bottom worth fighting over. With easy parking and quiet neighborhood surroundings, Hanok rules for a casual weeknight dinner or date night." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Google
Great food overall! The hot stone dish was a tasty and fun experience, and the stir-fried veggie noodles were perfect. Atmosphere was okay, but the location is excellent—just a short walk to Lake Washington. Sake was just okay. Worth a visit!

Google
This place was seriously amazing!! I got the bibambip in the stone bowl and it was a flavor sensation and so much fun to eat, and so affordable. The friend I was with loved her meal too. Service was amazing. Now we both wish we lived in this state so we could eat here every week.

Leslie Hill

Google
It was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I got the bulgogi and my friend got the bibimbap and it was the best Korean food we’ve ever had. The flavors were great and the way it’s served keeps it warm throughout the meal. The service was great as well and was pretty quick. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a while and I wasn’t even that hungry when we ate there and it was still amazing

Vanessa Theil

Google
Delicious, high quality ingredients, and unique flavors (can’t get over how amazing the green salad dressing is!) We came for an early dinner, so the place was quiet and the food came out incredibly fast. The service was excellent and every dish was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to be back!

Google
I enjoyed the cozy, quiet and hospitable atmosphere, like dining at a good friend’s house. Street parking can be challenging during peak hour. Or parking around the neighborhood. Sizzling corn cheese and deep fried seaweed clear noodles are my favorite appetizers. After dining, take a walk to Lake Washington for breeze and sunshine.

Google
If I could give this more stars, I would because everything in itself was beyond five stars. The service was impeccable, the server we ordered takeout with was kind and leisurely. He was very thoughtful with our order as we were taking it to the beach for a picnic. The tempura was perfect. Even after being boxed up for a few minutes, and the miso soup was full of flavor. I ordered a chicken dish that was full of flavor and very large portions and my friend had a tteokbokki that was the best version of it that I have ever tried. We will definitely be back here again, and I love to know that there is a great option for picnic lunches at Madison Beach Park.

Nikkie Manlapaz

Google
Had the dolsot bibimbap with beef. And non-spicy (I'm a wimp). Sizzling when it arrived at the table. My favorite part was the extra crunchy rice at the bottom of the bowl. MMM, YAAASSSS!!!

Yun

Google
Short ribs were not that tender and tofu soup was bland. More of Korean street food.

Yelp
Quaint little spot, HUGE in flavor. We enjoyed our dishes. Customer service was prompt and friendly. Thank you Hanok

Yelp
For a Korean restaurant, I was a bit disappointed they did not include side dishes with the meal. Perhaps this is something I am used to getting from other classic Korean restaurants, but as I heard this place was authentically Korean maybe my expectations were too high. The soondubu was watery and did not come with an egg, and only had tofu and pork. I was a bit underwhelmed with the taste. My friends got their other soups (tang) and it looked better but I'm not sure if they were super amazed by it. I got a pork bulgolgi to-go for the next day and I liked how the portions were pretty generous for their meat plates as they came with a side salad, miso soup, and rice. The space is very intimate and quiet, suitable for smaller parties of people. I think it's a good place to visit if you're hungry for Korean food in the neighborhood but overall it was not somewhere that will make me go out of my way to that area of Seattle.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing Korean spot. Simple no frills. Tiny shop so make a reservation if you want to dine in. Seems like a lot of folks in the neighborhood do take out here (but then you lose out on the stone bowl as part of your meal!!) The food is absolutely amazing - very classic no frills Korean food. Great prices. If we were closer we'd be getting takeout from here all the time! On a weekend night, they seem to run out of certain things towards closing - so you know you're getting fresh food!

Yelp
Really liked the ghimmari and tteokbokki! They were even able to do the tteokbokki vegetarian for me! Lots of veggie options on the menu too. The bibimbap was good and my partner liked his bulgogi, but felt the sauce could have been a little more flavorful and mixed. The service was a bit slow but I think it was just one person for all the tables so we didn't mind at all. It's a small and cute little spot in the Madison Park area with indoor and outdoor seating. We would definitely recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
Hanok is an okay Korean spot. The dishes are more individual rather than shareable however the food is good. There's no banchan that accompanies food however staff are really nice. In the summer it can be a little hot as there's no fans or air circulation. Overall, an okay spot but not sure if I'd be back.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time to attend a friend's birthday dinner, and it was fantastic! The place is cozy. Definitely make a reservation if you're eating in. Han (one of the owners) served the entire restaurant, including our group of 9, with ease. His wife, Jade, is in the kitchen slinging out amazing dishes! We tried nearly every appetizer as a group and my favorites were the spicy rice cakes (perfect amount of spice and sweet), the cheese corn, and Korean pancakes. Also tried the beef bulgogi (comes with rice, salad, and soup at a very reasonable price). Excellent japchae!! I ordered several glasses of wine and Han was kind enough to make sure I wasn't driving (I wasn't). I returned home safe and pleasantly stuffed! I would highly recommended checking this place out when you're in the mood for Korean food. Great service and food, very reasonable prices, and we felt right at home.

Yelp
Really cozy spot near Madison Beach Park! Service was amazing, really appreciated our server's recommendations. Size of portions was also great, although was slightly hoping they might serve some banchan. But if anything, it just allowed us to order more apps!
google avatar

Alice K.

Yelp
First, the service is amazing and the server (man) was so friendly. However, the food was only ok. The soon tofu soup didn't taste like a true soon tofu soup and tasted more like a gochujang-flavored soup? My companion ordered the bulgogi, which was fine. And! No banchan that comes with the meal?! Extra money for kimchi? I have literally never heard of this before. Dismaying and baffling.

J L.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and just right...family owned and service was very good.. definitely will go back.

Yelp
Great food! I don't know what it is with Seattle and Korean food but everything we have had here is incredible. The Bulgogi was very flavorful... and the service was great! Check this place out.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved their presentation. Food tasted great. Loved their kimchi trio but the cucumber kimchi was the best. Ordered dorsot bibimbop, galbi, spicy udon & jun.

Yelp
Such a cozy, charming Korean spot in Seattle! We came here as a party of 4 on a Friday night and were seated pretty quickly. I ordered the galbitang which was super good. The broth was rich and the beef really tender and cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were generous and we were stuffed after our meal. We also ordered a few appetizers which were also delicious (especially loved the Fried Ghimmari!). Everything from the food to the plating was impeccable and the staff was incredibly kind. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Been there 10+ times, and finally writing a review. My favorite Korean spot in Seattle. I'll go whenever I'm around downtown/Madison Park. The food is great, and the service always attentive. Seems like a family-owned restaurant, and they're sooo friendly.

Jayson F.

Yelp
My party showed up without a reservation. The host was very accommodating and kind. Food was great. I had the spicy pork bibimbap. If you're in Madison park, I would recommend this spot for Korean food.

Jorie M.

Yelp
This was my girl's first time EVER having Korean food, so I said say less. I have never been to this restaurant before but the location is in the cutest neighborhood on the outskirts of the UW arboretum. The menu had so many yummy options to choose from, but we stuck to some classics for my friend to try such as beef bulgogi, cheese corn, rice cakes, and glass noodles (Japchae). The food came out fast, and the server was really kind and attentive. I could tell this place was well liked by the neighbors because there were constant to-go orders the whole time we were eating. Come check out this cute restaurant next time you're craving some Korean comfort food !

Yelp
Hanok is very busy and they're trying their best on busy weekends! I wouldn't mind going back, but it's not high on my list: - no banchan - pork belly is thin and doesn't haven't enough flavor on its own - pork katsu is good though!

Yelp
hours on yelp and maps are wrong. actually closes at 8pm. save yourself the drive if youre coming thinking it closes at 9!

Yelp
Amazing food very fair priced and han was our very attentive excellent server. Thank you for a great birthday dinner hanok.

Yelp
Nice little place to grab a quick bite if you are hankering for some Korean foods in the Madison Park neighborhood. Soon doo boo: I usually get mine spicy with Kim chi. It's a solid SDB. Sort of wish it was a bit more molten hot lava hot and bubbling but it'll do the job and is tasty. I usually get the purple rice as my carb to go with it. Assorted pajeon. I am a sucker for tiny appetizer sized savory pancakes since they come out with nice and crisp on the edges and are perfect snack sized! Fries ghimmari: fried glass noodles wrapped in seaweed. One of my favorite appetizers that is not commonly found on restaurant menus. Sort of like jap chae in as a fried finger food!

Agnes L.

Yelp
Cozy warm Korean neighborhood spot with some Japanese flair. No frills, just great food and warm service. Fresh, flavorful, and healthy ingredients! Glad I finally found a solid Korean spot to eat in Seattle.

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite places for dinner in Madison Park. The food is fantastic and the portions are crazy big. Great prices, and the service is amazing. Food is so fresh and very tasty. Be sure to make reservations because this restaurant is small, and please be patient if the food takes a little bit longer, because it's definitely worth the wait. Love this family owned business.

Amy B.

Yelp
Really great spot! Nice place to eat inside. Awesome service. Delicious bi bim bap in stone pot with crispy rice on the bottom. Chicken karaage was also quite good. Easy parking on Madison. Can't wait to go again!

Jose S.

Yelp
This is the best Korean food in Seattle PERIOD. You will have to go to Korea to get this amazing food. I will be going again and again. It is simply delicious. The owner, and server, is simply a delightful man who ensures you have a great time. I recommend the sake. They will serve it right. I congratulate the owners for giving us such a great time.

Emily H.

Yelp
Unreal bibimbap, spicy rice cakes, seaweed salad and incredible service!!! Ambiance is also unmatched. Loved every second of this experience and would 11/10 recommend

Yelp
Korean restaurant in Madison Park? Really? So many 5* reviews, so I had to check it out. If you're looking for a traditional Korean restaurant, Hanok is not it. MP is old Seattle, affluent, white, million $ manses, last place one would expect to find a Korean eatery. Located close to the park/lake; service was friendly, attentive, efficient, fast - 5*. Atmosphere is cozy, combination of 6 indoor tables for 2 & 4 ppl, outdoor tables available (weather permitting), clean, well maintained - 4* (restroom 3*). Food was 3*. Fresh, quality ingredients but bland, lacking personality/flavor. No traditional side dishes (wasn't expecting anyway from a non-traditional K-restaurant). Protein salad with chicken was fresh, simple, healthy, loved the greens & especially white radish and sesame dressing. The chicken soup 닭곰탕 was basic. I suspect the chicken meat was Costco rotisserie chicken meat or else prepared in a very similar method. Broth was decent but nothing special. It was hot & came with a small bowl of purple rice. A few side dishes to compliment the soup would've been a plus. One word to describe the food is: sterile, meaning the food quality and preparation were a passing grade; by no means bad but lacking significant flavor & character; cuisine lacking Chosun tradition & depth; modern Korean food that kind of has the appearance of Korean food but taste/flavor tailored for inexperienced non-Asian . Perhaps the reason for its location. Overall, got a full stomach, generous portions and the bill was a touch more than expected. Good luck neighborhood street parking. If you're hoping to taste a traditional Korean grandma's home cooking secret recipes or a Korean Iron Chef, this ain't it. Hanok is a decent place and glad it seems to be doing well but look elsewhere for authentic, traditional tasting K-food.

Yelp
Their flavors are spot on, good portioned and the overall ambiance is very cozy. However, as a Korean person i did expect the restaurant to serve side dishes but there was none :( and korean dining is all about the combination of main & side dishes. On top of that, the location being a bit far from my usual route it may be a while until i come back. I would recommend the meat dishes since it comes with a side salad and soup. They have two flavors for the fried rice cake and the soy flavor tasted like donuts (perhaps a bit too sweet). Presentation wise i think itd benefit from sesame sprinkles or some green onions. It looked a bit bare on its own. The staff were very friendly

Yelp
I was so excited to try Hanok. The menu had many of my favorite dishes. It is close to work so could enjoy a healthy fun meal when I work late. They have healthy offerings at reasonable prices. The owners are so, so nice and the place is cozy. Alas, the food is prepared for the market they cater to and it is not Koreans. The flavors are bland and very underwhelming. No spice whatsoever. And they charge for banchan -trio sampling. What is up with that?!? I wish the food/flavors were more authentic. The search continues.

Yelp
Pretty good! It's an unassuming, small, but cozy Korean spot deep inside of equally cozy Madison Valley. The food is good, the service is very nice, and the price is pretty reasonable. The space itself is fairly small but it's nicely considered and complimented with jazz music playing in the background. I wish most family Korean restaurants in the PNW would take a cue from Hanok because it demonstrates quite well how just a little bit of attention to interior space can go a long way to making customers feel good. The menu has some greatest hits of Korean cusine: galbi, bulgogi, tteokbokki, kimchi jigae, and so on. There are a few non standard things on the menu too like various udons and other basic Japanese eats. I've tried the galbi, the spicy pork, and the bulgogi, and everything was well-prepared and tasty. Everything is prepared by a wife and man couple who are very nice and accommodating. There are a few nitpicks to talk about: * No bonchon but given the scale of the operation it's not a huge deal; this is rare case where the absence of bonchon for the meal doesn't signal ahead of time that everything else is going to be underwhelming as well. * They don't appear to have liquor license so that means (gasp) NO SOJU! They do have a good selection of sakes, wine and beer though so just embrace change and enjoy something else. * It's located DEEP inside of the Madison Valley close to Lake Washington so it'll take you a while to get here (just a heads up!) I like it!

Yelp
We love this place. Small, down-home mom and pop restaurant. The wife is the chef and the husband is the business manager and waiter. The dishes are a wonderful fusion of Korean and Japanese. Clean, tasty, high quality, without the high prices. This restaurant is our go-to comfort stop when we just want a good meal and husband Han's friendly, even-tempered presence.
google avatar

Jacob F.

Yelp
Great food with reasonable prices. Excellent service in a small restaurant, highly recommend! We got the Chicken Katsu and Stir-Fried Udon
google avatar

Generous Y.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting too much viewing some of the photos, but I don't think they're an accurate representation. In regards to quantity, I was happy and the meal was filling. Quality was good too! Katsu is nice and crispy, very tender, and pairs well with sauce. All entrees come with miso and have vegetables included, whether on the side (i.e. katsu) or inside (i.e. bibimbap). Chicken katsu seems to come with slightly more meat than the pork, but barely so not really a big deal. It's interesting that the pork is whiter meat and the chicken is darker though. You can taste the difference, however, so it was definitely a surprise. I personally loved the katsu but not sure about the others. Four for above average, but nothing blew me out of the water. Tasty but not didn't melt in my mouth and that's what a five is reserved for. Wish there were more options for things like drinks or desserts, but pleased!

Yelp
The server was excellent in recommending gluten-free dishes to me. While this restaurant does not have a lot of gluten-free options, we managed to eat a full gluten-free vegetarian meal. For appetizers, we ordered the boiled edamame beans. The edamame was quite crunchy and well-done. For the main course, we ordered the Stir-fry Korean glass noodles and the Dolsot Bibimbap. They did not have a lot of flavor but were were entirely gluten-free, vegetarian, and well-cooked. My review for this restaurant is mainly because of the server but the food was quite delicious as well.

S P.

Yelp
Wonderful Korean restaurant in Madison Park. We got 3 different dishes and each of them was delicious. Very warm hospitality in a family owned and run restaurant. This is a real gem.
google avatar

Vicki S.

Yelp
It's a small family-owned restaurant with just a handful of tables but it had a good rotation of customers where it didn't seem to be a problem. At least not when we got there around 6pm. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait long to get our food. I ordered their Dolsot Bibimbap which is beautifully served in a hot stone bowl atop a wooden box. I chose beef for my protein and added on some kimchi for $1 more. The miso soup it came with was delightful since I am still nursing my cold and it was very soothing to my throat to sip on the hot broth as I ate my main course. I highly recommend getting this dish in the stone bowl because it helps to crust up some of the rice on the bottom which is very authentic and tastes amazing mixed with their spicy red sauce which is a must to give it that familiar flavor. My daughter enjoyed her Grilled Pork Belly dish that came with a side of Purple Rice, Salad, and a miso soup. This is a wonderful small, family-run Korean restaurant located in a fancy and upscale part of town. But the business itself is very low key, casual, and there's a decent amount of free street parking available. I'd definitely come back here again with the rest of my family. They do accept reservations for parties of four or more. Although, it would be difficult to accommodate more than a party of four.

Yelp
A small neighborhood eatery (~ 6 or 7 tables) in a simple setting serving clean tasting mostly traditional Korean entrees on individual trays. (Somehow feels more Covid friendly this way.) Kimchi is ordered & charged separately. Had no wait when it first opened for the day. Food & Price A La Carte Kimchi Trio 3 kinds of kimchi: radish, Napa cabbage, & cucumber. Was a bit overripe but good. $5 4.* Entrées Dolsot BiBimBap w/ beef, zucchini, carrots, bean sprouts, sunny side-up eggs and rice in a hot claypot for socarrat type of crust but was over toasted and had a slight but noticeable whisp of burnt flavor. Comes with miso soup $15 3.5* Galbi was of good quality, not fatty, & slightly sweeter than usual. Came with purple rice, a simple good salad and miso soup. $19 4* Noodles Udon Soup w/ Shrimp Tempura has a great flavorful broth albeit slightly sweeter than usual. $8 + 2 pieces of Shrimp Tempura for $4 4* Service very nice Located -deep in Madison Park just 3 blocks from Madison Park Beach -just after McGilvra Blvd but closer to 41st Ave on (the south side of) Madison St. -just before Red Apple Market (on the north side of Madison)
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
The food was pretty average. The flavor was there but there wasn't much behind it. Didn't seem authentic. The pork in the soup I thought would be pork slices. The soup was good, wish they had an egg. The portion sizes were good though.
google avatar

Yelp
Run, don't walk to Hanok! This place has outstanding food: we got their fried rice cakes, japchae and bulgogi. All were so well balanced... the rice cakes spicy sweet sauce was a flavor I wanted to come back to. Their japchae was steaming hot and all vegetables were cooked to perfection while the chicken held its juicyness - that, coupled with the soft noodles tossed in sesame oil, made this one of my favorites. The bulgogi bowl was great too, from the purple rice and sauce to the meat and fresh veggies. My absolute favorite part about this establishment is the owner. The calmness he exudes makes me feel like I will be taken care of -- which he fabulously did.
google avatar

Lucy C.

Yelp
This place has a cozy, family-run vibe. This may mean there isn't always seating available, but we went on a Saturday night at dinner time and a table cleared up in about 15 minutes. There was one server running everything but he was very nice and considerate, and the food came out without too much delay. The food was also great--the yukgaejang was perfect for warming up on a chilly night, and there isn't too much green onion like in some other recipes. I wish there was banchan (side dishes) to go with it, but it looks like the grilled meat dishes like samgyeopsal (pork belly, also really good btw) come with salad and miso soup. The menu has quite a variety and even some Japanese dishes as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I have not finished a meal so satisfied and excited in a long time. I would order exactly what I got today for tomorrow's dinner and life would be excellent. Kimchi fried rice with pork: this was the best kimchi fried rice I've had. So flavorful and not overwhelmingly like kimchi flavor. It almost was like the rice had a flavor of its character and the kimchi was a side / ancillary flavor. You can see the rice is not very red like the stereotypical jar kimchi. The kimchi was cooked in a way that really complemented the rice. Salad with calamari: awesome that they separated the calamari and rice in the takeout bag so nothing got soggy. The squid was perfectly fried and not greasy. The salad was simple... mixed greens, carrots, avocado but came with the most amazing dressing and sauce. Bibimbap with spicy chicken: People from Ohio or the Midwest might know Bibibop the fast casual chain where you can make your own bibimbap bowl Chipotle-style. It was an HONOR and a privilege to experience what the Bibibop chain was replicating (and Bibibop does a damn good job I'd say... they have every one of these toppings plus egg, cheese and potato lol to make it more American diet friendly). The Hanok bibimbap just took the Midwest chain to another level...fresh and great mixture of flavor with a perfectly cooked over-medium egg on top. Sooo good. Oh and the dishes come with miso soup which was a nice bonus. Didn't quite taste like miso soup from a Japanese restaurant but couldn't put my finger on the slight variation. A little salty though for my taste. I just may order this again tomorrow.

Dennis I.

Yelp
Probably should have read more reviews before going, fusion is about right. I thought with a name like 'Han-ok' which is a traditional Korean style house that this would be traditional (or a little more so) Korean food. So if you are looking for Korean food this isn't it. There are no side dishes and they served my dish with a salad and Miso soup. My grilled chicken was ok, but strikingly pretty much Teriyaki. My wife had the Spicy chicken which was essentially gochu-jang with something else mixed in we couldn't quite figure out. Maybe curry? That combined with us driving around the block several time trying to find it, which I admit was more my fault. It is very stealthy and hard to see with almost no parking. And this was on a weekday.

Yelp
Great new Korean spot in Madison Park! I'm so glad there are more and more Korean restaurants moving towards Seattle. We showed up without reservations, and we were quickly greeted. In hindsight, it's a small restaurant, and unless you show up early, I would recommend making reservations. Service was quick and efficient! As for the menu, it has great Korean offerings I'm used to seeing, galbi (kalbi), bibimbop, bulgogi, etc... But while perusing the appetizer menu, I was intrigued by Fried Ghimmari, fried seaweed wrapped glass noodles. We ordered it and it came with a dipping sauce, we really enjoyed it! It was different from anything I've ever had, I would definitely order this again. We also ordered the kimchi trio (Napa cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and daikon kimchi). Although it was good, I am accustomed to having complimentary ban chan rather than as a $5 side, this is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I ordered the galbi rice entree and it comes with salad, miso soup and purple rice. I would definitely order this again, it was really good!

Viswa V.

Yelp
cozy Korean spot, but they have both korean and japanese food which makes them less authentic. no banchan also makes them less Korean. food is 7/10.

Debbie K.

Yelp
No side dishes, not super flavorful at all. The guy who served us was incredibly rude, and every interaction that I saw him have with everyone else was about the same. Need to work on their service, if someone is being nice to you, there's no reason to take out your anger of the day on them!

Yelp
Cute little Korean restaurant in the beautiful Madison Park area. We came in at around 6 p.m. on a Friday night, just the two of us, and were able to sit quickly. The service was extremely attentive and I don't think there was ever a time that we needed to call someone over. We ordered the samgyeopsal and the chicken katsu to share. The presentation was cute, with rice, soup, and salad that comes with every entrée. I was a little bummed that there was no banchan, but it didn't take away from my dining experience. The prices were also fairly reasonable. I see some people saying that the portions were not big enough - I couldn't finish my meal because I ended up being so stuffed! If you're craving certain Korean food, you should definitely try this place out.

Yelp
Wow a great new addition to the Madison park scene. At the former location of a pho place, this family run restaurant is awesome. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly with the husband cheerfully running the front of the house while his wife prepares amazing home cooked Korean food. The space is compact but there plenty of seats by the window and its tastefully decorated as well. They do make deliveries so that's a good option if you are local. We've been here a few times and have loved the grilled pork belly (Sam gyro sal). It's sliced and sizzling hot when you get it. The seasoning is perfectly done and not too salty. The rice is delicious as well. And the miso soup and house soup is good too. The shrimp tempura udon was also excellent with a nice flavor and the shrimp were crunchy and delicious. The Soon Doo Boo with kimchi and pork was really large and really nice and spicy. Perfect on a rainy day like today. The bulgogi was terrific nice spice and the beef was. Perfectly cooked. The bibimbap was also a great dish. We loved the egg and the purple rice. A nice flavor balance. During lunch and dinners it can get busy so just be prepared for a short wait. But they are so friendly and helpful it's great. Nice family run addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
We are fans pretty much if everything and Han can advise you if it's your first foray into Korean cuisine. 5/5 for me because I can say that coming here since some time not long after they opened, we have always experienced excellent service and consistently delicious Korean food. *some challenges of meeting everyone's needs when everyone comes all at once but he handles it with grace and speeds around to take good care of all. They can do takeout but I'd suggest eating in or outside weather permitting if you feel safer. The crispiness or perfect doneness of certain dishes just doesn't do as well under takeout conditions. Some favorites: Pork katsu, bibimbap (regular or dol sot), salt and pepper salmon, kalbi, Jeon sampler (fun crispy pancakes - appetizer), yukgaejang (slightly spicy glass noodle beef soup- superb for clearing out your sinuses. I swear by it if I am feeling chilled or like I am on the verge of a cold.)

Yelp
The owners of this place are so amazing. So kind and they really put so much love and effort into the food. Everything we've eaten is so yummy and feels like it was made with love and care. My favorite is the rice cakes and the dolsot bibimbap. The owners went to Korea to bring back all the dish ware used. Just an example of ways they put so much care into the experience.

Yelp
I just finished my take-out Spicy Chicken and Vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. The miso soup was sublime. Next time I may order a few extras. Perfect size for one person. Was ready exactly on time.

Yelp
We enjoyed having a birthday celebration for 6 at Hanok on a Friday night. It's a casual, cozy spot so we felt lucky to have a larger table (reservations encouraged). The food was excellent and nicely presented, and service was attentive even though the dining room was full. The proprietor spent quite a bit of time with us explaining and recommending dishes for our group which included two nine-year-olds doing a Korean culture research project. Every dish we had was exceptional from the Pork Bibimbap and Korean pancakes to the veggie Japchae glass noodles (my personal favorite), Pork Mandoo dumplings (another favorite) and the Kimchi trio (the cucumber kimchi was a winner). Our meal for three was ~ $120 including 5-6 entrees, beer, wine, tip which I thought was a good value for what was served. We ate well. Highly recommended.
