Hanover is the one. Read up on their vertically integrated business model - it is the ideal, and it shows in just about every way you could imagine.
There are several beautiful new buildings in Austin, and I'm guessing a few have this or that split-hair edge in amenities or features, as will always be the case with the latest building. But once you get to a certain level of luxury, what you're really looking for, or at least what I'm really looking for, is all around excellence, outstanding service, a truly pleasant experience.
I showed up unannounced, no appointment, around 5pm the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, looking a bit raggedy - 50/50 I'm a bum or I'm in tech from the Bay Area. It would have been so easy, especially given the holiday, to politely tell me it's not possible and I'll need to make an appointment for another day. That would have been entirely justified - indeed I really should have made an appointment. Alas, not only was I given a tour, during which I was blown away by everything - the amenities, the apartment interiors, the thoughtful design and attention to detail, the sheer luxury, the views - but I can't imagine the quality of the tour would have been any different if I'd been dressed to the nines. It was excellent.
If this is how they treat a somewhat questionable walk-in right before a major holiday, I can only imagine how they treat their residents. Again I think it goes back to their business model, and Republic Square is Hanover's crown jewel. From conception to development to management, it's been their baby, their prized possession, their pride and joy. There is a level of care that comes with that, that I don't think I'll find anywhere else. 4.8 w/450+ reviews doesn't exist outside of HRS. This is why.
Hanover, you've won me over. Looking forward to calling Republic Square, home. Special shout-out to John Hastings and Mohammed.
