Chug’s Gets a Refresh, Hoja Taqueria Debuts on Miami Beach, and More Restaurant Openings | Eater Miami

"Positioned as a self-described “Chinese Dinner Club” in South of Fifth and led by executive chef Weng Choon “William” Lai, the kitchen serves Cantonese-style dishes including honey-roasted pork, spicy and sour seafood soup, black truffle sticky rice, and tea-smoked beef tenderloin in a space that fuses Chinese, Art Deco, and tropical décor with Chiang Mai dragon-veiled walls, rustic wood accents, bamboo chandeliers, and a 12-person wrap-around marble bar." - Olee Fowler

The current English name of "旺旺美食" is Han's Kitchen, not Jia Jia Kitchen. The restaurant opens at 11 am, but their people work so hard and start working at 9 am to prepare the delicious food for their guests today. Because the weather is very hot today, I came to the restaurant to buy a cup of blueberry green tea to cool off and quench my thirst. It tastes delicious and not too sweet. After drinking it, the heat is gone and I felt energetic and refreshed. I would like to emphasize that the service attitude of the staff here are excellent, very empathetic, and treats others as they treat themselves, which is really precious.

I used to like this place, until 06/08/2025, the dishes in the bento box all spoiled, except the noodles. You can smell and taste the sour from the foods.

This restaurant has really good food and authentic Chinese flavor. Has many options to choose from. I personally really like the Explosive Chili Pepper Chicken 新派辣子鸡.

The Chinese chive pocket tastes like deep fried, and the inside is not warm. The dishes are so so. Besides the bento dishes, they offer pork dumplings and some noodle soups. It's a place for a quick bite, but not good food!

Tips: Bring cash otherwise you will be charged for a small fees using credit card. Quick and easy cost about $11.50 for a meal with one entree (rice, porridge, or noodles) with 3 sides. Come early because close to the end of the night food are mostly gone. Staff suggested if you cant make it in time, call in and they will hold food for you. They also offered family meal. Food: Average, but portion size is decent. 4 stars because they are eager to help and friendly most of time.

Somewhere mentioned this place needs you to speak Mandarin, find out this is Fast Chinese Food. You can point to order, and choices of big or small boxes, that’s it! Warm food and/or cool food, both ready to eat. Use cash preferred, credit card payment will be charged with extra transaction fee.

Extremely authentic food at such an affordable price! Freshly handmade buns with super thin skin!

Although the setup is like ranch 99’s food court, but the taste is far better and most dishes beat the restaurant food . And compare with the money you pay for, you get more . Their cold dishes, such as cucumber, the spiced chicken, tofu noodle, ... are very good, can’t left the spicy mung bean jelly, yum yum!! The other dishes are very good too. Not too salty, not too much oil, not like a lot of other restaurants, when I order I have to keep on telling them less salt and less oil. I ordered the veggie dumplings from them for a long time and I went to other restaurant to order (for cheaper price), now, I still have those dumplings sit in my refrigerator and I’m going back Wonderful to order.

Yelp
I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. One time while checking out, I needed some napkins and reached for them. The female cashier (around 50 years old) gave me a disgusted look and said in a very rude way, "Take fewer napkins, they cost money." I was totally shocked by her attitude. Such discriminatory and disrespectful service is unacceptable, and I swear I will never come back. It's a shame because I thought the prices were okay and the food was decent, but the service ruined everything. 女Cashier 狗眼看人低+非常不礼貌, 大家远离
