The Best Asian Bakeries In Atlanta

"Hansel and Gretel is an Asian bakery with three locations in the Atlanta area, including their cafe in the Mall Corners Shopping Center in Duluth. This spot is well-known for their beautiful, show-stopping desserts, cakes, and pastries, which are displayed in the glass case by the register. Their designed cakes are so gorgeous it kind of feels like the knife cuts both ways when you slice into one. We also love their tarts, like their berry white chocolate tart, which offer a light, pleasant sweetness. And there’s always the allure of too-cute-to-resist items like their Kirby cream puffs. You’ll always be joined by a steady stream of customers, but consider the check-out line a benefit since you’ll have extra time to throw more pastries in your basket. Once you’ve got your goods, retreat to one of their cozy booths or to their outdoor tables. " - candy hom

While visiting Georgia, my daughter insisted that we try this place, and I’m so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were amazed by the wide variety of delicious-looking items on display. There were so many treats to choose from — drinks, cookies, cakes, and pastries — that we spent quite a bit of time just admiring everything before finally placing our order. The presentation of each dessert was beautiful, and everything looked like it belonged in a magazine. We decided to try the Sleeping Teddy mousse cake, Berry Surprise, Strawberry Cake, a cake pop, Thai milk tea, and an iced mango berry drink. Each item had its own charm and flavor profile. The mousse cake was adorable and rich, and the Strawberry Cake was moist and flavorful. The cake pop was a fun little bite, perfect for a sweet craving. The iced mango berry drink was refreshing and fruity, great for a warm day. The Thai milk tea, while flavorful, was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. The Berry Surprise turned out to be more of a yogurt-filled dessert than I expected, but still enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would absolutely return the next time I'm in Georgia to try even more of their tempting offerings.

Google
this is probably my favorite cafe in all of metro atlanta. let’s start with the inside, just really beautiful! i love how all the cakes, pastries and other baked goods are assorted as well, really nice presentation. i love the coffee here, this was always my late spot to come to for coffee after iron age nights. i got the iced vanilla latte, really the perfect amount of sweetness and so good ❤️ i highly recommend coming here it would be a great hangout and or date spot!

Google
The food taste good but it's a little overprice, it's not worth what we paid for. The drink was acceptable, but the cakes weren't. The cake you can see in the picture it's very tiny 😭 please adjust the price/ or the size. Or maybe your primary customers are just rich people ? I believe college student can't afford those food here.

Google
We wanted something sweet after dinner and found this place. Even at 10 p.m., it was hopping!!! We got what we wanted, and the service was super fast. I had a lemon delight that was so refreshing and zingy!! It was accompanied by a very berry smoothie, which was so mild and gentle, but it should have been run through a strainer, I was sptting seeds out nonstop. My friends had a fruit custard tart and an oreo creme cake, while my husband had an iced caramel macchiato. Everything was delightful!! We definitely will be going back!

Google
They offer a delightful assortment of pastries and a great selection of teas. While the Black Forest cake was slightly dry, their desserts are beautifully presented and visually charming.

Google
Lovely bakery! Oreos are over powering in the Oreo Matcha Frappe, however enjoyed Oreo cream slice of cake. At this price point I was surprised to see staff handling food and money as I waited for my to go order.

Google
I don’t think I’ve been so surprisingly disappointed at the quality of food from a bakery before. The interior decor of the venue is absolutely stunning, but it had to make up for the poor quality and taste of the baked goods. Upon trying the Mocha Light Cream Cake (sponge was very stale), Strawberry Tart (crust was too hard to cut into), and Oreo Macaron (incredibly stale taste and hurt to bite through), it was clear that the desserts left much to desire. Additionally, the portion sizes are too small for how much you pay ($7.50ish per small cake slice and $3.50ish per macaron). Would not recommend going if looking for a bakery that sells high-quality goods, but it is a great, quiet place to hang out or get work done.

Google
This place is very nice and clean. The staff were helpful and kind. The tea is amazing. The pastries were also good. You can visit with family, friends, or do some work or study. It was a pleasant experience to visit this place.

Yelp
My go to cafe for studying as there are plenty of tables and chairs, even for bigger groups :) there are outlets by the smaller tables by the windows and the walls. Wi-fi works really well too! The pastries are very delicious (haven't had opportunity to try all of them just yet) but they are well priced and very tasty. I do like the quality of coffee as well but I am biased as I drink a lot of sweeter lattes but my go to is the butterscotch cream latte. I usually study there for an hour or two or grab a quick breakfast with coffee as I work nearby. Staff is always friendly and fast. On weekends, they can definitely get busy (especially Saturday nights and Sunday noon).

Yelp
Made me start liking coffee again when I tried the honeycomb latte. The blueberry cheesecake isn't what you expect traditionally, but I enjoyed it. Not their fault, but I just don't go on my own because of the stalker/trafficker rumors that were going around last summer.

Yelp
Update: I was trying to order the cronut only to be told they don't make them anymore So I have been getting the mochi-donut i like them alot but still said about the cronuts

Yelp
Hansel & Gretel Bakery Cafe is such a cute spot with beautifully crafted desserts that taste just as good as they look! The pastries are amazing. I tried the chocolate bear mousse, mango cake, peach-shaped dessert, and a few more, including a rich chocolate-covered cake and a gorgeous blue dessert (forget what it's called but it's yogurt flavor) Each one was a work of art, both visually and in taste. The ambiance is cozy and elegant, making it a great place to relax with a coffee and a treat. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend the blue yogurt mousse cake!

Yelp
I have driven by this place so often but finally went in today. So many different bakery items and in the case has some cute baked goods. I did not try any of their drinks this time. Wide open spaces inside with tables outside. Prices are a little pricier than some of the other bakeries close by, but they have many options here. I will be back, especially to try one of their drinks.

Yelp
Great cafe with delicious pastries and baked goods. After visiting I decided to get a cake to bring back to Florida and had to get the tiramisu cake to share with my co-workers. The cake had a slight coffee flavor, delicious layer of cream and a moist layer of cake. If you love the taste of slightly sweet cheesecake and coffee I definitely recommend this cake! I can't wait to go back and visit again and wish Orlando had one!

Yelp
I understand that this place can get pretty crowded, but this time, they completely forgot my drink and I waited 20+ minutes. I ended up going up to the counter to ask if it was done yet and they seem to have put the ticket in the "completed" pile. When I explained further, the staff was quiet and just went to go make it without an explanation or apology. I was then handed a drink without any comments from the staff. They just handed me stuff and stayed silent. I ordered a matcha strawberry latte that just tasted like strawberry milk. I'm very disappointed with my experience here today.

Yelp
I was told by a local that this cafe has a wide assortment of Korean pastries, so I stopped by this afternoon. I ordered the honeycomb latte and mango yogurt, and bought a few Korean pastries. They didn't really have a variety of traditional Korean bread and pastries, but had a lot of desserts. I ordered the honeycomb latte half sweet, but it was still very overwhelmingly sweet so I can't imagine what the regular sweetness tastes like. When I asked the barista if it was made half sweet as requested, she said she had added more milk to it, which didn't make sense. The ice also melted really quickly, and the latte just tasted like sugar water. There wasn't really any espresso flavor either, which was quite disappointing. The mango yogurt was also extremely sweet, like it was doused in mango syrup. Interior is quite spacious with moody lighting. Overall, not bad, would be willing to come again but may need to ask for way less sweet!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised this last visit here! I've been here multiple times and was never impressed or even phased. But I came in this weekend and had a great experience, it does get a bit busy and rowdy but it's not a bad study spot. Drinks and foods were all average, really no complaints!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming to this bakery for years now and it's still as phenomenal as when they first opened! Things you should know: I. PARKING Hansel & Gretel is within a plaza and shares a free public parking lot with the adjacent businesses. Easy. II. SERVICE I like that this cafe has a water station, WiFi, and classical music playing for ambience. Most of the staff also speaks both English and Korean. They're timely about getting you your drink orders. III. QUALITY I can vouch for both the coffee and pastries, but the bakery items are what trumps. They're fresh daily and never stale. IV. CAPACITY This cafe can get pretty busy on weekends but has a great amount of seating availability on week days.

Yelp
Very pleasant atmosphere and very nice pastries are the reasons why I come here. The pastries are unique and not over-sweetened, largely sized windows and clean restrooms are a plus. I find this place better than their competitors around, including La Madeline!
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Cute bakery in the area. Service was fast and friendly. The pastries were delicious, the boba tea not so much.
google avatar

Ruthy M.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop, which opens late. They have a variety of pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth. It's cute inside and they offer outdoor seating. I ordered the strawberry Macaron and it wasn't quite to my liking. The outside was a little too hard, but the strawberry filling was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambience is great to chill to hangout at for sure. Many people come with their laptops to chill and be cool cats lol. However, not so happy about the bathroom situation (I'm non-binary) lol. I know it's common for there not to be gender neutral bathrooms, but just a note for my other Queer folks. The food isn't bad, though there are no vegan options, which is why we don't come here as often if we can help it. Other places do have some vegan options even if it's basic with low effort. The drinks are good though and they do have alternative milks for it. I got a cafe latte with oat milk in a large with two pumps of hazelnut and oat milk. My partner got a matcha latte with oat milk as well. O well not a bad spot to come and hang
google avatar

Yuka T.

Yelp
My favorite dessert right now! Their yogurt is sooooooo good. It's not too sweet so the strawberry go great with it. I'm not a big fan of cheese cake but I ordered it as it. Nice clean bakery. You can see them making you drink. Cashier was nice and helpful. Definitely come back for more yogurt
google avatar

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to this bakery and she got a mocha croissant, it did not say that it contained pieces of nuts, she had an allergic reaction. Raised concerns about how products are labeled and received silence in return. I don't recommend this place, there are many other better bakeries around that care about their customer's wellbeing.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Neat place. The bakery looks interesting, but I only tasted the one thing I ordered and it was good. The coffee is excellent!!
google avatar

Tanni D.

Yelp
I've tried several beverages here and most are too sweet for my taste. However, I mainly come here for the baked goods. I love the assortment at this establishment. My favorite are the Fresh Cream Puffs; they just melt in your mouth!
google avatar

Yesenia B.

Yelp
I really like their cakes, the whole cake. The shop is very small and it provides some seating. But it still feels pretty cramped if you have more than three people in your party. I said I like the entire cake because when I stopped by to get a slice..it was dry... They are not the friendliest so make sure you know what you want, order and get out of their way. Don't ask questions or try to make conversation...as a matter of fact if you don't know what you want to order just stay out of the way.... But the cakes are good.
google avatar

Sydnee T.

Yelp
SO MANY YUMMY THINGS TO TRY! every time I come here I find something else yummy to eat, and every drink I've gotten has been good! I tried their egg sando this time and there was a crunchiness with the carrots and apples along with the softness of the bread, eggs and potatoes -- SO GOOD! We got the Vietnamese latte which was strong coffee with the sweetness of the condensed milk, and the strawberry matcha latte was not super matcha forward but the strawberry syrup was lovely with chunks of tangy strawberries in it! My partner loved the garlic sausage roll, and he gets it every time we come! The bakery prices are so reasonable and have sales usually on the items that are not freshly made, but still taste delicious. We didn't get it this time but I would also recommend the GARLIC BREAD !!! Lovely place to sit and study, the cashiers and service is always kind here. Coming back every time I'm in town :)))
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
Massive mango bingsu with NY cheesecake and mango sauce. Giant serving fed 5 people!! So light on the stomach and delicious. Service was good, cashier answered all of my friend's questions since he's been as mocha before, and it was very sweet of the cashier to do so while they were intensely busy. It's incredibly lively at night on the weekends, practically the place is without seating, but people are really kind and let you share spaces! I love this place and bringing my friends here to chat. Will be coming back to try their pastries!
google avatar

Shawnte T.

Yelp
A cozy Asian bakery with delicious treats I got the peanut butter baked good l, cheese cup cakes I wished they had icing on top! Omg the Mango yogurt 10/10 so good!
google avatar

Kat T.

Yelp
Super cute Asian bakery. It's feels super fancy and the ambiance is really nice and relaxing. There baked goods are super good. A good variety baked goods. It's definitely a bougie place compared to like sweet hut. Very coffee shop feel to it as well. Definitely a good spot to come and work on school work or work or just to hang out. Everyone is super nice and friendly.

Yelp
Hansen and Gretel Bingsu has quickly become my go-to spot for a refreshing and indulgent escape. This place is a haven for dessert lovers, and it never fails to impress. The star of the show here, of course, is the bingsu. Each variation on the menu is a masterpiece, combining the finest ingredients and creative flavors. Whether you're in the mood for a classic matcha bingsu or a more adventurous fruity delight, you're in for a treat. The shaved ice is wonderfully light, and the toppings are generous and fresh. What sets Hansen and Gretel apart is the meticulous attention to detail. The presentation is a work of art, making every order look almost too good to eat. It's a testament to the passion and craftsmanship that goes into creating these delectable bingsu creations. The service is prompt and friendly, and the ambiance is both cozy and trendy. It's a fantastic place to unwind, chat with friends, or even enjoy a solo dessert date. The decor and music create a pleasant atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. In conclusion, Hansen and Gretel Bingsu is a dessert lover's paradise with an array of bingsu options that will leave you craving more. If you're looking for a delightful and refreshing escape from the ordinary, look no further. This is where your sweetest dreams come true, one spoonful at a time.

Yelp
Not gonna lie the axe drinks are very tart even when the ice melts all the way down. In love with the honey toast though
google avatar

Yelp
Located in Duluth with easy parking. Upon entering it smell like fresh bread, cakes, apple pie, etc point is it smell delicious!! I come here for the cheese cake and boba tea... but I'm sure everything here is good!! They have the cheesecakes, fruit tarts, and other assorted desserts in a display and you decide what you want. Then the server will slice it right then and it is a generous slice. This is also a good place to chill and pull out out your laptop check a few emails or sit in on a webinar Anyhoo just check out my vid. Until next time SYOY!

Quanta S.

Yelp
I ordered the cheese danish and the sweet potato latte and they were absolutely delicious! The service was great and the food came out really quick! We went there as part two of our first date. My date thoroughly enjoyed his macchiato and chocolate muffin as well! I definitely plan to go there again as it was worth every dime!
google avatar

Matthew O.

Yelp
This is a really really excellent bakery in the area! So many bread and pastry choices to select from! The service is excellent, with super friendly people working here who are efficient in helping you checkout. The ambiance is really homey and comforting. The perfect spot to chat with friends, de-stress after a long day, or to get some work and studying done. Only downside? You're going to find yourself buying bread and pastries nonstop haha. All in all, one of my favorite places to go to in Duluth :)
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I don't know why I haven't been here sooner?! The selection of pastries, desserts, and drinks were amazing! I really needed coffee so I opted for the honeycomb latte because it sounded interesting. H&G offers oat and almond milk alternatives which is great for me! I did not know what to expect, but the latte was topped with crunchy and sweet dalgona pieces. They were so tasty and made a lovely presentation! For later, I grabbed an almond custard toast and a bacon egg pastry. Both look delicious and I can't wait to try them! There is so much seating and the tables were clean. They have space for large and small groups, as well as sitting solo. My latte came out very fast and I didn't wait very long to be rung up. Will be back to have another honeycomb latte!
google avatar

Ginny S.

Yelp
Loved the cake! It was not overly sweet and was very delicious. The bakery was very delightful and nicely decorated. Had a very homey feeling. The casher was also very knowledgeable about the products they sale and very warm, helpful and friendly. I look forward to coming back here soon. They sell more than cakes!
google avatar

Minna A.

Yelp
Loved the bingsu for the price ratio!! The mango one was HUGE and tasted so good! The matcha one seemed smaller, but also they put strawberry jam in it which made it taste not as good.
google avatar

Truc P.

Yelp
If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I LOVE strawberry matcha lattes. This was pretty spot on and just the right amount of sweetness for me mixed in with fresh strawberries! A must get are the Veggie Croquette and Curry Croquette....SOOOO FLAVORFUL and yummy. The vibe is also great for studying! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Mehwish K.

Yelp
This was a new location for us and we loved it. Baked goods and service as usual was awesome and on point.
google avatar

Monika B.

Yelp
Overly sweet and too artificially flavored. Looks great but not even close to Paris Baguette.
google avatar

Zohal Z.

Yelp
Nice cafe for studying and they have a really good variety of desserts and drinks. My go to is an iced honey comb latte (half sweetened).

Jok N.

Yelp
Food is not good. Only perk is that it stays open later in the night. Other than that, I've never found anything in here worth the price.
google avatar

Sulian W.

Yelp
My second time going to Hansel and Gretel! I love all of the goodies that they have, they have great pastries, breads, and drinks. I really enjoy the Iced Citron Tea. It was so refreshing. They have a lot of seating, it's a great place to study, get some work done or just catch up with a friend. I especially love the fried mochi ball. It's like a large version of a sesame ball without all of the sesame. I can't wait to go back to ATL just to go here.
google avatar

Nargiza S.

Yelp
The pastries are pretty good, one of my favorite pastries is their sesame donut. (It's a bit oily tho)
google avatar

Raul G.

Yelp
I'm giving this a 5 star rating on the CRONUTS (croissant & donut) and treats on their own... so good!!! Their THAI TEA is also excellent and is normally my go to drink when I stop by. This spot is very convenient because they close late so you'll always be able to grab a late night treat. They can get very busy but last time I went I saw they were getting ready to expand with more space. Definitely worth a try for their breads and treats and spacious inside (even when busy).
google avatar

Dana M.

Yelp
Consistently high quality food, drinks and service keep me returning to this bakery again and again. The selection of fresh baked goods is varied but I often find myself getting the strawberry almond croissant or cronuts. The coffee is strong and there are non-dairy options. The made to order cakes and pastries are out of this world and perfect to take to an event. There is plentiful outdoor seating in good weather and inside is spacious and comfortable. There are booths large enough to accomodate larger parties. I've never experienced any significant wait times, even when business was booming. Coffee bar orders will be given a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready to prevent counter delays. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
Very traditional Asian style desserts. Keep in mind many cakes are not very sweet (as they shouldn't be) unlike american ones. Many of their cakes are fruit infused & are light & spongy. Wonderful tasting bakery with croissants & bagels & such
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
Cute, cozy atmosphere. Good for grabbing a snack and studying or hanging with friends. Lots of dessert options!
google avatar

Xee V.

Yelp
So much pastries to choose from but opted not to get any because we'd just ate next door. I got the strawberry yogurt and didn't really like it. The yogurt was too tarty for my liking. The rest of my family enjoyed their drinks. We're in this area often so will definitely be trying something else next time.
google avatar

Brittney F.

Yelp
This place is so unique and the food and coffee was amazing. The only thing I didn't care for was it seemed a little dark. I'm already blind so it made it a little hard to see.
google avatar

Lesa M.

Yelp
Upon walking in at 8:55am no greeting not even hello. Got my tray to see what kind of pastry bread they have and not everything was stock! Why even open at 8am? Saw two workers stocking up with fresh pastry on the shelves. I wanted to get some cream puffs but nobody acknowledge me. Got a few items and went to the counter not even hello or how are you doing. She just rang my order and hand me the bag and I said thank you !! but no response back! Pastry was okay but stale probably got the one from the day before. Would I go again!! No!! The vibes was not there and I feel unwelcome.
google avatar

Sonjachardé M.

Yelp
Was looking for a late night spot to get coffee or a snack after going to the movies at SMG with my dad and son. This place was right up the street so it was a no brainer. It's a Korean cafe where they make every delicious pastry known to man. I'm Partial to bread so I got a croissant. It was perfectly baked and just the right amount of flake. We all asked the barista to surprise us so I don't really know what we got as drinks, but they were coffee based and really delicious! I like that they are open late. It was very energizing to see so many people out and about enjoying themselves at that time (11 pm or so). My dad got two chocolate cakes which were both really good and my son loved his macaroons! We've been back twice since our initial visit and it's always packed with people and really tasty snacks.
google avatar

Nghia V.

Yelp
Cakes are not too sweet, which I love. Cake selection is also great and price is slightly better than sweet hut. I love the matcha pastries, tastes even better then beard papa. The mochi donut was too sweet for me. Inside decoration is very cozy. Customer service is great every visit.
google avatar

Manuel M.

Yelp
One of the best places to get your pastries and delicious drinks. The service provided here is exceptional and everyone is super friendly. Been coming here since we found it 2 years ago. I will definitely recommend this place. Very reasonable prices as well. Come check it out!!
google avatar

Virginia M.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. We decided to try some bakeries near our hotel and this one was the first. It did not disappoint. My son had the mocha slice and I got the Mango tart. Both were delicious. My sister got a slice similar to my son and loved hers as well. She got a latte and said it was really yummy. We also picked a couple options from their pastries and everything was delicious except a pumpkin thing we picked that was stuffed with a weird pumpkins gelatin mixture.
