For a smaller store, Hansen's punches way above it's weight. In the summer the sell local produce. All year long they have an amazing selection of homemade brats, smoked fishes, a grab and go section and everything you need to make spring rolls or egg rolls. They even have gochuchang and all kinds of other Asian goodness. Their butchers will cut your meat to your liking. The bake their own breads, have an amazing cheese section - everything a cook really needs. I adore this store and it really is a culinary grocery store. They have a large selection of wine and spirits. Everyone is super friendly. They will order things if they don't have what you're looking for. A store of my dreams - just the right size with everything you need. Go there and check it out if you are in Silver Lake. You owe it to yourself! As there motto states "life is too short to eat mediocre food!"

This is the local grocery store, which is not comparable to the big chains. I only go here to grab emergency items or last minute items i forgot at the big chains. The prices are high and some employees are nice and friendly. They don't have a fresh meat counter. They have bakery items and deli items at a fresh counter. I only recommend this grocer for quick pick up necessary items. I still go to the big chains to save on groceries.

I always love coming here to stock up on food and supplies when we go to silver lake sand dunes! They are always stocked with lots of great stuff, and a lot of local items available. Plus a good selection of gluten-free items!

Cute little grocery store. Has an incredible selection. The produce was great and the meats were locally sourced. Had a decent selection of beer in their “beer cave”. Bottom line if you are staying locally this place is a good place to stock up at.

An oasis in what is sadly a food desert. They know this and price accordingly high. Makes me feel bad for the locals who have little choice. Selection is pretty good. They do carry local produce in season which is nice. The locally grown lettuce is a winner. Decent wine beer and liquor choices.

My absolute favorite grocery store! They have the best deli food ever, and tons of options. All homemade. Yum! Also very clean, with a large selection in each department along with friendly staff.

I am visiting from Maryland for the summer, so I do most of my shopping here because there’s no other grocery store nearby. There’s one in Shelby, but I think it’s stuck in the 1980s and is limited on updating its shelves with healthier options. Nevertheless, Hansen Foods has very limited options if you are bent on keeping your foods free from chemical additives. There’s not much healthy cereal options that don’t have yellow 5 or Red 40. If you don’t care what you stuff in your mouth, then it’s the perfect grocery store for your overall health.

The best grocery store in Oceana county is Hansen's! They shelves are always well stocked, the staff are helpful and it is clean. The pricing is a little above average on some items because it isn't a corporate owned grocery store, so that is expected. They offer so many wonderful homemade options such as dips, pasta salads, sandwiches, etc. They have a great meat department serving any cut you could think of. You can also return cans and bottles at Hansen's. My favorite part about Hansen's is that it is family owned and their recipes for their deli are above the rest. My favorite pasta salad is the rotelli from there. It is worth the stop if you are in the area for sure!

Love this store. I look forward to shopping here every summer. I can always find what I need. Plus, I find lots of new products to try. Service is great. They carry local produce as well. Great music on the system while you shop. If you get there at the right time, fresh popcorn is being made too!

We saw a tiny billboard just off 31 recommending Hansen's asparagus, bratwurst, and lots of wine. Let's! The produce was labeled local, and tasty, as a small but mighty produce section should be. Seasonal strawberries and ripe avocados were just the first bonus. The wine section was decent for such a small grocery, including some of Michigan's own. Beer wasn't large as wine, but wasn't limited to Bud and Coors--and still a good selection for a small store, and a local brewery's s just down the road. You're in a smaller grocery, but what a deli! If you're not local Hansen's makes it easy, with plenty of pre-sliced selections or ordering a sandwich from the numbered menu. No need to explain yourself, just order like you're picking lotto numbers. Our subs were only $1 per inch, and yes you can get cheddar instead of Swiss on that #2. Tillamook, Cabot, and other yummies are found here while you wait for your sandwiches. If you're passing through on your way to the lake, this is the oasis to stop by. Enjoy your sandwiches in the shade of a cottonwood tree on the Silver Lake dunes. Then feel less sore that night with a bottle of red or whatever by the campfire. Whenever we're lucky enough to come back to the dunes, we'll come here too.

Grateful to have such an awesome store near us! Deli is remarkable. Store is owned and staffed by truly nice people. Cozy ambiance. Excellent selection of food items for relatively small store.

Smaller but well stocked food store. Prob the best deli I've ever seen. Not a huge selection, but really, who needs to choose between 300+ types cereal. They have frequent sales (eggs: $1.29 dozen, cream cheese $.99) and seafood sales (I need lobster and crab cakes to stay happy!). Largely pleasant staff, especial shout-out to cashiers Kellie and Ginny, Cashier Sue who went the extra mile in finding out if I can return refrigerated unopened coffee-creamer (YES YOU CAN! JUST BRING THE RECEIPT), take-out helper Joe and the man in the vegetable section who thinks he's funny. I was asking about sweet potatoes v. yams and he punned: "It's the same thing as my yammy used to say". Ha ha ha. A nice shopping experience, thanks!

My family rents a cottage on Lake Michigan in the Pentwater/Hart area pretty much every year, and this is our go-to grocery store! Very well-stocked, amazing fresh-made meats and deli products. Also lots of high quality local produce! Friendly & helpful staff round it out.

So I went on my sisters family vacation a few weeks ago - my little niece was turning 5 and I was so excited to bake her a homemade cake, decorate our rental house, and make everything super special for her. I had a baking DISASTER at 6am. My cake pans overflowed in the oven and the whole house smelled like crispy cake for 24 hrs. I had to throw away my attempt at making a perfect cake and ended up at plan b, buying a store bought cake. This was the only place around us that made cakes that you could walk up quickly and pick what you wanted. It ended up being so much better than I planned! It was just me and my niece walking around the store looking at all the cakes - she got to pick the exact one that she wanted. Then a little sign under the cakes said that they would write on the cake for free- so I had them write happy birthday on it. The staff was so incredibly friendly at the bakery. Making a fuss about her birthday was adorable! My niece got to watch her birthday cake come to life. It was really special and I thank you guys for helping making my little niece feel awesome on her birthday! The cake was super delicious too!

Best Deli ever! Wine Beer & Liquor selection is the BOSS! Produce like none other! Ummm they carry out you're groceries....YES PLEASE!

They have the best fried chicken but they won't fry later then 3pm. Who eats dinner that early. I guess it's lunch only. They used to make it up to 5pm. Disappointing!!

Kudos to Ginger for great customer service in handling my Amazon return at the UPS drop off / customer service desk. We are on a volunteer RV mission trip to Pentwater, so didn't have a box or printer to use for the return packing and label. She helped us out and provided great customer service. It was also my first time in the store and was impressed with the produce and prices.

None of the deli workers were wearing mask and I asked one of them about it and he said he was leaving it to god . I left . Quite disappointing because in normal times I like Hansen's. They are on the do not shop list now .

I have shopped at Hansen's for 15 years, mostly during the summer months, and I like the selection. Last week I had a full shopping cart including one cucumber, however, I was charged for 131 cucumbers - an extra $196.00! I noticed it on the receipt as I walked away from the store. I went back in and got my money back right away. The person at checkout has been with the store for years and I'm annoyed that she didn't notice it first. If it happened to me, it could happen to you!

Great small-town grocery store with a good variety of products. Some of their own products are the BEST - try their homemade breads, or the smoked cheddar. MMMMMM... Friendly, helpful staff and always lots of fresh local produce. I recommend it!

Great grocery in a small town. Plenty of selection on day to Day goods and in store made brats and sausages. Wine, Beer and Cigar selection also on par. Friendly service and quick check out even on a packed Saturday afternoon. It's going to be my place every time I'm in the area.

Extremely rude staff and ridiculously overpriced products. Don't waste your time and money, just go to Walmart or Meijer.

The workers in the food department are rude as soon as you enter they start whispering to eachother very unprofessional and rude. Once they have served your food they basically throw it to you over the counter. Usually only to race of color. If I could rate it a half a star I would.

WAIT!! Love shopping there when we're in town on vacation at Silver Lake, but bought the worse corn EVER there this week! It had no kernels!! Indiana doesn't grow 'diet' corn like that! Think Ill try the Brubaker Marker! I hear they're corn is great!

Usually love this store but utterly disappointed this year. The deli workers were not wearing masks, the cashiers and baggers were wearing masks incorrectly with their noses outside the mask and the owner himself was wearing his mask on his chin. The blatant disregard for the safety of their customers and staff is appalling and makes me never want to go back.

Great customer service , they have local produce , local food , and local wine . They support the local economy . Good variety .

This store is really as good as it gets. Family owned and recently taken over by the founder's son, Dave and his wife Leslie. Dave and Leslie are dragging us into the modern age whether we want it or not. Yea!!!!! They now have the best selection of Liquor, Beer and wine for 50 miles around. All their beef is choice...not the crappy select junk. Once in while they have prime beef also. Everyone around here loves the place! Really nice cake decorating also!!

Ordered a snickers cake for my dad's 70th birthday from Hansen's Bakery - it turned out perfect! The staff were really friendly and helpful and the cake helped make my dad's day extra special!
