15 Essential Korean Restaurants to Try in Orange County

"Inspired by Korean food wagons that evolved into outdoor food stalls, Hanshin Pocha serves street food and savory bar bites that pair well with soju and beer. Wedged in a cluster of casual restaurants near an Albertsons at Quail Hill Shopping Center, the location seems like an unusual place to set up a pocha. But people (many of whom are UCI students) wait in groups outside for tables. The tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and kimchi jeongol (kimchi hot pot), along with the pub-friendly whole fried chicken and stir-fried spicy squid are easily shareable. Dishes can also be taken to-go." - Jenn Tanaka

I visited on a Tuesday specifically for their happy hour, as advertised on their Instagram running from 5-7pm. Unfortunately, upon ordering, we were informed that happy hour was no longer offered, which was a bit disappointing. Despite this, we decided to stay and dine. We ordered the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue and kimchi fried rice, along with the mango ice-blended makgeolli. The makgeolli was served in metal bowls, which was unique as it kept the drink refreshingly cold! While the food was tasty, the portions felt a bit small for the price. The decor was stylish, and I could see this being a lively spot on the weekends, especially since they stay open late (by Irvine standards). Since it was a Tuesday, the restaurant wasn’t too busy, and the service was quick and attentive. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but the absence of happy hour and the portion sizes left room for improvement.

Google
I believe this is a restaurant run by Koreans. The young waitstaff all speak Korean, and the food is authentic. The key point is that the shops in this mall usually close at 9:00 PM, but they dare to stay open until 1:00 AM, and they are often fully booked. I greatly admire their wisdom and courage, highly recommend it.

I came here on a Friday around 5pm and got seted right away. We order Combo D which came with gyeran-mari, gochu-maneul chicken, and kimchi jeongol for $67. In addition to that, we also order the spicy chicken feet and mango makgeolli. Everything was amazing and our favorite were the gyeran-mari and gochu-maneul chicken. The gyeran-mari was so soft with melted cheese on top and the fried chicken sauce was delicious (not really spicy, it's more of a soy sauce flavor). The spicy chicken feet was my favorite when I got it the first time I came to Hanshin Pocha. However, this time it was way too spicy even for my friends who can eat spicy foods, seems like they're inconsistent with the sauce. The price is a bit on the pricier side for some menu items. Follow @hangrytrails.us on Instagram for more OC Foods

Love the fried chicken here~ Chill with friends after work and drink Soju

Google
this is the perfect late-night spot to grab some good food with friends. open every day until midnight (1am on weekends)!! they have all your classic korean gastropub eats. i've been to their RH location and for the most part i think the menu is the same, minus a few different items? portions here are HUGE, definitely meant to share with the entire party. chicken feet - this was actually my first time trying chicken feet and i'm SO glad i tried it here bc the flavor was amazing! they cooked it soo well - the texture was incredibly gelatinous and super soft to bite into. chicken mozzarella cheese fondue - i've gotten the pork before. both are really good. must get item!! egg soup (geran tang) - not to be mixed up with steamed egg. this is similar but just more "soupy" kimchi fried rice - surrounded with mozzarella cheese. would have been the cherry on top with a fried egg! overall, all good eats!! service/ambiance: there’s a call button if you ever need anything. more of a gastropub vibe - think dim lights + loud music. plenty of parking spaces in the plaza.

Google
I ordered Pork Mozzarella, it looks spicy but was enough and love the dipping cheese fondue. The price of food is decent comparing other places, opens until late night.

Google
First of all, the price of Tteokbokki was about $16 and it only contained 4 small wheat rice cakes. So I asked if this was Tteokbokki(spicy rice cakes) and they said yes. Originally, there were supposed to be 14 rice cakes, but they made a mistake and said they would make it again. The new one also contained only 9 rice cakes. Is it a joke? It's Koreans' favorite comfort food, and including many rice cakes costs a few dollars in Korea. I lived in the United States for about 30 years in every major city and ate a lot of tteokbokki everywhere. This has never made sense to me.

Google
I drove all the way out here with a group of 5 and didn’t get served. Says they close at 12am online and printed on their door - yet last call is at 11pm. What is the point of posting a closing time 1 hour after your last call? You think we care about how much time we have to take a dump in the bathroom before you lock the doors? Terrible service via public communication. Also, terrible ambiance. Looks like Chinese massage parlor lighting inside.

Yelp
I really like this place! I could truly enjoy the time here with my friend!! The ambience, especially at night time was good:) The food I got was Jjamppong soup and IT IS BOOM The service is amazing and supportive which made the time here even better:) Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Went here for my sister's birthday dinner and it was a solid choice. We were worried we wouldn't find a place to seat 15 people but they allowed us! They also held the cake we brought while we were eating dinner. At first you would think it's a small place but they had more space towards the back. The place really gave the night life vibe but also very chill/fun with the music. Food was delicious, definitely consider choosing a combo instead of choosing individual items for the price unless you want something specific. Overall, really enjoyed our time here.

Yelp
Finally! A pocha in Irvine I honestly hate commuting to go to pocha with friends so when I heard this place just opened, I was ecstatic. We came at around 10:30 pm and there was a wait so be mindful of that. They have a variety of dishes and drinks however since we were there for the vibes and drinks we didn't get that much food. I did want my friend to try the chicken with cheese because there's not many places down in OC that have it. It was really good! The chicken was nice and flavorful and was not spicy! My friends got 4 bottles of soju I believe and they were pretty pricey but they gotta make money somehow

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday right when they opened and there was no line and got seated right away. I've been to another Hanshin Pocha location (Rowland heights), but this one is newer, bigger, and cleaner. I ordered the whole fried chicken and the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue. The fried chicken was super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The mozzarella was super cheesy and added an extra flavor to the chicken. I also got the diy rice balls and it's the perfect combo to any item you get. Their soju ball cocktails are creepers! Really good, but they hit lol in a good way though. Definitely check them out!

Yelp
The place is relatively new restaurant owned by Paik Jong Won as in Korean Chef TV celebrity. He has several different franchises including the Korean Chinese restaurant at the H. Mart. This one is located in the posh clean shopping center owned and operated by the Irvine Company at the Shady Canyon. The neighborhood restaurants include BBQ Chicken and other Korean restaurants next to the anchor tenant that is usually a large grocery store. This place is mainly for evening beer and soju cafe with decent food options that go well with the libations. The service and prices are by far above average but not five stars. They also have several gaffes in their website which needs immediate attention but the waitress was not very helpful. One is the $8 special dumplings with photo showing dozen potstickers but they offer eight pieces for the $8 special that misleads you. If you order them they bring out 12 pieces and charge you $15 regular price. There are other mistakes with discrepancies that will affect your final price but doesn't seem worth the argument with staffs who are obviously clueless or not very interested in knowing the details. Overall if you press the button one of the two servers will show up immediately and serve you whatever you order. All of the foods have sugar in them making attractive to younger customers. For me the foods are too sweetened. Absolutely clean and nicely decorated upper class drinking and eating place for you to take your close friends to unload and downright have a good time without pressure. I would definitely go back once.

Yelp
This is for the late night drinkers and food cravers. Mostly comprises of street food best with beers, soju or whatever your alcoholic preference is. I could sit all night and order drinks and there small portion dishes. Ambience creates the atmosphere for drinking. Clean and quick service.

Yelp
For a party of 4, we waited about 15min around 8pm on a Friday. We had: 1) grilled squid - 5/5. Loved the flavor and felt like it was somewhat healthy compared to other stuff we got. 2) fried chicken (whole) - 4/5. Rather small so we each had a quarter. Pretty juicy and flaky. 3) egg cheese roll - 3/5. Kind of boring. 4) ddokboki - 3/5. Watery version and it didn't have much ddok in it. 5) rice balls - 5/5. Delicious combo and fun to make. We'd go back!

Yelp
Such a fun place to hang after work or in the weekend for Korean food and drinking! Highlights of the menu: 1. Pork mozzarella cheese fondue 2. Kimchi jeongol 3. Fried chicken 4. Fried rice 5. DIY rice ball - they give you gloves to mix the rice with seaweed and sesame oil by yourself 6. Soju ball cocktails: peach and blue ade Just what I need, casual and fun. They open late hours too, perfect!!

Yelp
Came here late on a Sunday there wasn't much of a wait and got seated right away. Employees here is very attentive and nice you wouldn't really need to get their attention but if you really have to there is a bell you can ring. We got the chicken and cheese plate it was around $25 which wasn't bad and the portion was enough to feed 2. Drinks here is decently price like every other restaurant or pub. Would want to come back to try their other dishes! Our server also gave us both a pink frog keychain so cute.

Yelp
I was surprised that this casual eatery took reservations, but it was helpful as I had a large party and didn't want to have to wait. Half of us decided to share combo C and it was a really good price, the portions were big. Everything tasted good but nothing was amazing. The service was good. The ambiance oddly felt like a club/party.
google avatar

Yelp
The beef tofu was probably the best thing we ordered. The fried chicken was plentiful, but average. I didn't feel it was super unique. Service and ambiance is always a good time as expected from the Hanshin Pocha franchise.

Yelp
Delicious! Coming from San Diego, it's hard to find places with Korean street food. It was pretty busy on a late night, great vibes. It's located in a shopping plaza where all the other restaurants close earlier, so it's funny to see that this was the only restaurant popping. Food was delicious. Here's what we ordered: Whole fried chicken: I didn't expect there to actually be an entire fried chicken. The skin was fried so light, yet still so crispy. It was accompanied by salt and pepper, such a simple flavor to elevate the dish to the next level. Since it was a whole fried chicken, there was both white and dark meat. The white meat was still very juicy, but nothing beats delicious dark meat. Gyeran-mari with tomato sauce: This dish was LARGE. I didn't expect it to be so big and it really filled the both of us up. It was even filled with cheese, which I didn't expect. The sauce was very yummy. It was a sweet, yet savory meaty tomato sauce. The dish came together so nicely. It's open late so lots of university students. Would love to come here again and try their other dishes!

Yelp
Been a fan of the chef and decided to come to check out this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive and also they have the bell on the tables if we need anything from them. We ordered a seafood stirred fry, a pork belly with cheese, chicken and fries, chicken and a beef jingae and everything came fast and it's delicious...if you are sensitive to chili or Chili oil, you will need to be careful. It's a pub food style restaurant and meant to be shared with groups.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the spot to come with your friends for a drink + food! They also offer wonderful happy hour as well. They have a wide selection of items on their menu and the portion sizes are great too! It's a perfect size to be shared with friends and is more than enough! I reccomend the DIY rice balls! It's such a cool experience to mix everything together (with gloves of course) and make it into a rice ball!

Yelp
The atmosphere of this restaurant is great, lively and cool! Food is good (ordered the spicy chicken with mozzarella & the kimchi jeongol). Service is great as well! A nice place to drink with friends.
google avatar

Sherri Z.

Yelp
I'm so glad this opened nearby! It stays open quite late in Irvine, and their menu has great offerings. Their kimchi jeongol with ramen added is so good, and we love the fried chicken. If you are in the mood for Korean food, you can't go wrong. Everything is tasty, and even when we order pick up everything was packed well and steaming hot.
google avatar

Yelp
The trifecta with the bonus of open late in Irvine! Very friendly customer service, yummy food and cool atmosphere. Will definitely go back and try other foods!! We tried a variety of dishes and a pitcher of alcohol. A friend ordered the food so u fortunately I don't have the names - but everything was really flavorful!

Yelp
Went to hanshin pocha Friday night around 9:00pm. Put our name on the waitlist and got seated fairly quickly without too long of a wait. Ordered some fries and fried chicken to share. In Irvine, it is the only pocha similar to the 626, Buena Park, and the La area. One thing to note is hanshin pocha in Irvine is more family friendly.
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
Finally a pocha style Korean bar in Irvine so I don't have to go all the way to Ktown. The vibe is a lot more family friendly and wholesome than typical Korean bar in Ktown. It's definitely not somewhere I feel comfortable getting rowdy, but it's all we get here in Irvine so I'll take it :') For food we got the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue, fried chicken gizzard, fried whole squid, and beef tofu jjigae. The gizzard and squid had a nice chewy and crispy texture, which was perfect for drinking food. The mozzarella fondue was so melty that it was hard to pick up, and the chicken was well seasoned. The only thing that kinda lacked flavor was the tofu jjigae. The waitlist system was a little strange. When I first signed up, it said the wait time was 5-10 minutes and I was 3rd in line, then I got pushed to 4th and then 5th. They're still new so I think they're still figuring it out.
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
Like your typical Korean food, but also not really the typical Korean food. Sure, they have Tteokbokki, fried chicken, Jjigae, but Harshin Pocha also offers other unique dishes, such as Dakbal, and cheese fondue. We ordered the tomato sauce Gyeran-mari (cheese egg omelet with tomato meat sauce) , and Gesal- Gyeran Tang (Egg soup with crab) with added ramen. Both were very savory and delicious. Portion was decent. The restaurant is new and clean. They do get busy though so I would recommend to come early or join their online waitlist ahead. There are many other things I would like to try, so I will definitely return.
google avatar

Adithya B.

Yelp
I loved this place for a pregame vibe with friends eating great chicken wings, dumplings and cheesy corn on a stone plate that was curated for us upon request meaning the service is phenomenal. This is a great value for Korean comfort food that open late at night. Music is like being in a club so it isn't for the folks who dislike music from a subwoofer. I came out happy with a belly full of soju and fried food. 10/10
google avatar

Louise C.

Yelp
a new korean pub in irvine! it was so good, they have a service button on the table so it was easy to get their attention. we got the pork mozzarella cheese fondue, egg roll & kimchi fried rice! everything was so filling & really tasteful! we got the soju cocktail which was good but we were expecting a fishbowl type soju cocktail. will definitely come again!!
google avatar

Yana R.

Yelp
Came late on a Tuesday night, pretty empty! A lot of the shops around were already closed but this one stayed open. I really liked the interior, nice pocha vibes! Tried their fried chicken and pork with mozzarella cheese. Both did taste good, but I wished they were able to keep the cheese warm, it cooled up pretty quickly, so no more cheese pull :( seemed a bit overpriced for the size they served. Also, drinks were overpriced in my opinion. $15 for soju and $10 for beer? I feel like other places have them for a few dollars cheaper. I'd come back to try their other food options.

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha has recently opened in Irvine! I've been to the Rowland Heights location so it's great to have one closer to me now. We were a party of 9 and had to wait over an hour and a half to get seated, and it was really busy. Since it's located in a nice plaza, there were lots of chairs and areas to sit down and wait so it wasn't much of an issue but we definitely wish we went earlier to join the waitlist. What we ordered: - Chicken Mozzarella Cheese Fondue (pictured) - Pork Mozzarella Cheese Fondue - Yangnyeom Chicken / sweet and spicy chicken (pictured) - Gochu Maneul Chicken / sweet and spicy garlic chicken - 2 Grilled Whole Squid (pictured) - Egg Soup - Mango Ball Cocktail (pictured) Overall, we enjoyed the food! We didn't expect the chicken to be a big portion which is why we ordered two. It was a lot of food so next time we will stick to placing one order at a time. The dish that our party enjoyed the most was the Grilled Whole Squid! It was so delicious we placed another order. The sauce was so good and the squid was well-cooked, making me want to come back for more. We also prefer the Pork Mozarella Cheese Fondue over the Chicken. Lastly, you can never go wrong with the Egg Soup (steamed egg). It's a great addition to the meal and warms up my stomach! A good comfort dish and also comes in a big bowl. The Mango Ball was good but more on the sweeter side so you can't really taste the alcohol. Great service and recommend this place for a good night out with friends!
google avatar

Yelp
Already pretty crowded at 6pm on Saturday, but got seated quickly! It was pretty loud, but the vibes were super social and good! A good mix of folks socializing and some families having dinner. Bathrooms were clean and gender neutral. Only thing I'd complain about is that it was a bit stuffy inside and can get hot easily. My group of three got Combo B to share + a peach makgeolli cocktail. Combo b comes with fried boneless chicken, the pork mozzarella fondue and a fish cake soup for $60. Chicken was crispy and came with some pickled radish, fries and ketchup. Pork was smoky, with a spicy, salty and sweet sauce and paired amazing with the mozzarella which gave lots of stretchy cheese pulls. Fish cake soup felt pretty standard and came with a decent amt of fish cake. The makgeolli cocktail was slushy, on the sweet side and super fun to drink. Definitely one to drink quickly before the blended ice melts. Overall a little bit on the pricey side, but plenty of food and definitely a great place for drinks and food, especially for late nights in Irvine.

Yelp
My family and I went here for my friend's mom's birthday. We were excited to try this place because my friend had seen this place on Instagram. It's really cool to have more of a traditional Korean bar vibey restaurant in OC and more specifically in the Irvine area. We definitely waited a really long time though. At least an hour. We didn't get in until almost 8pm, so definitely get there early. The restaurant was quite loud and servers were running around everywhere. It's also not very big inside, so just prepare for that. Food - 3.5/5 I will say we had to limit ourselves a bit because my friend's dad can't eat spicy food. We ordered the tteokbokki (mild) 3/5, mandu w/cheese 2.5/5, boneless fried chicken 3/5, pork mozzarella cheese fondue 3.75/5, and the gochu maneul chicken 4/5. Honestly, what we ordered was quite mid. My family was a little picky, so some of the stuff I wanted to try, we didn't end up ordering. The only dishes that I really liked were the gochu chicken that had good flavor but wasn't really spicy and the pork mozzarella cheese fondue. The flavor was there and the cheese pull was satisfying, but I do wish the pork was a little meatier and less fatty. I think my experience was a little isolated, so I think if I get to come back, there are other things like the chicken feet, odolppyeo, and grilled squid that I'd like to try. I'd definitely try this place again though!
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to trying this place, but after ordering, I don't know... The fish soup was just tiny little pieces, the fish cake was overly salty, maybe it just wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for and have had better.
google avatar

Alyssa G.

Yelp
To round up I gave a 4 but my real rating is closer to a 3.5/5. Kind of bummed because I am a big fan of the Rowland Heights location and I was excited that it opened closer to me but this was just ok. Tried the spicy squid, jongeol(?) stew, and diy rice balls. The squid tasted good but the texture of the fried noodles on the bottom was all over the place. Too hard or too soggy from the sauce, would have rather just have regular al dente noodles that would have complemented the sauce nicely. The rice balls tasted good but I felt like they didn't really stick together nicely like rice balls should. Wouldn't get them again. And the stew was very tasty but I found it pricey for what I was getting. Overall if you've never tried Hanshin and you live in OC you should go because their menu is unique and the dishes are tasty, but I do prefer the Rowland location.
google avatar

Van V.

Yelp
Food here was really yummy! the fried chicken was juicy and the flavor was savory with a hint of sweetness. the army stew was warming and packed with so much meat. definitely gave korean pub vibes with the decorations and the atmosphere. the only issue was service... no matter how many times we rang the bell and saw our table number flash, no one would come to our table unless we made eye contact and flagged them down. overall, food was good and would probably return if i'm looking for a late night meal.
google avatar

Chenghui W.

Yelp
We went during dinner time and it was fully packed but we were still able to get seated super quickly! Staff were also friendly and efficient with ordering. chicken with mozzarella cheese 9.5/10: I really liked the pairing of chicken with cheese and there was a small kick to the chicken, making it more flavorful overall. only thing to keep in mind is to eat the cheese in a timely manner as it will harden after a bit. Portion was good enough for 2 people. rice balls 10/10: it was really fun to make the rice balls ourselves and the flavor was also really yummy. I dipped some of the rice ball in the spicy chicken sauce and it was really good! soy sauce and butter squid 9/10: squid was cooked to a good degree where it was not tough to chew. Very tasty and portion would be good for 2 people as well! overall really nice experience and would come back to try some other dishes and drinks that they have!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with my best friends today and wow all the food we ordered were so delicious. My friends couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. My favorite two dishes that we ordered was the pork with cheese and the Korean fried chicken. It was so good. Overall service and food were great and the restaurant itself is a great place for a hangout spot with friends to eat and drink. I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Excited to be one of the first to review this place! I've been to the Rowland location plenty of times, so I was excited when I found out they just opened an Irvine location. Would never have imagined they would have opened in the quiet area of Quail Hill, though. We ordered Combo A, which includes: - Fried Whole Chicken (not pictured): 5/5 Fried perfectly, seasoned well. - Hanshin Dakbal (added fried rice at the end): 4.5/5 Compared to the rowland location, the sauce at this location was better. The rowland tastes too cinnamony and too spicy (according to my friends). We added the fried rice at the end. They were so thoughtful to think ahead and prepare it in the kitchen with new sauce/pan bc the pan it comes out in has bones in it. - Egg Soup: 5/5 This one is always one of my faves. Its more of a steamed egg than a soup - DIY Rice Ball: 4.5/5 This is always a safe choice. I just wish they gave me 2 gloves instead of 1 which would have made it much easier to form the balls. We also ordered: - Fried Chicken Gizzards and Fries: 4/5 The fries were fried well but it does taste like the chicken. (Probably bc its fried in the same oil) but the gizzards were over fried for my preference. - Chicken Mozzarella Cheese Fondue: 3.75/5 This is one of their new menu items. It was pretty good but it was lacking the fire/smoke-y taste the pork one usually has. It wasn't anything special. Everything was really good for the most part! Hanshin is always a good place for food and drinks. Plus, they're open till 2am from Thurs-Sat and 12am on Sun-Wed. The only thing lacking for me was the ambience. The Rowland and LA locations have lively music and darker lighting but this location felt like a family restaurant than a pocha so it was a little confusing. Hopefully, this will change since they just opened.
google avatar

Alice S.

Yelp
Fun place to meet up with friends for some bar type korean food and drinks! We got a combo B as well as some grilled whole squid. Everything was good, but my favorites were the pork with mozzarella and the grilled whole squid. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Lucia L.

Yelp
Finally got to try out the newest location of the famous @hanshinpocha.us , @hanshinpocha_irvine , and its 100% worth the hype! As a franchise by celebrity Chef Jong Won Paik (basically the Korean version of Gordon Ramsay), @hanshinpocha.us features an extensive menu of Korean comfort dishes and a fun pocha environment for drinking and socializing with friends. My favorite dishes were the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue and seafood soft tofu jjigae (which were very well executed especially for a pocha), and I would highly recommend ordering their soju bomb cocktails and @sangmakgeolli . If you're adventurous, I recommend checking out their signature dakbal (spicy chicken feet)

Yelp
In our Quail Hills neighborhood, there's a cozy Korean bar that's easy to find and perfect for hanging out with friends. The food there is amazing - we tried fried chicken, spicy rice cakes, and rice balls, and they were all delicious. Plus, they have tasty drinks, including cocktails with a Korean twist. It's become our favorite spot, and we'll definitely be going back soon for more yummy food and good times. Service was excellent - our server gave a great recommendation on what to order. Everything turned out great.

Yelp
The offering is enticing but the food itself is just meh. Service is pretty good and the food is okay but all forgettable

Eugene C.

Yelp
Fun place to hang out and get Korean bar food and drinks. Spicy chicken with cheese was great!

Danielle P.

Yelp
Only ordered 2 of the soju cocktails but they were both very good! The restaurant itself is very clean and not too loud. Service was also great and the staff is friendly. Wish I could have tried the food but the group was too full.
google avatar

Yelp
The food tasted pretty good, an average late Korean spot. Truthfully, I thought the portion sizes of the meal option we got was smaller than expected for the price. Service was nice and fast as we had the service bell and the decorations inside provided a great late night ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally a little bit of Ktown in Irvine! Food was good. Faces included diy rice balls and the spicy pork with cheese. Friendly service and they're open late for an Irvine place. Will be back again!

Yelp
I'm starting this before we get there because their reservations policy is confusing. According to the man I spoke to, they don't take reservations after 1645h BUT they don't even open until 1700h. How can this be? More to follow. OK here's my review. As to the above, it is 1745 that they cancel taking reservations. The restaurant itself is very nice. The food is 95% spicy +2 to +5 but is very tasty. It is based on Korean street food so it is not your usual foods. It also is very nicely appointed - comfy & comfortable. Two related negatives: they don't have hot or cold coffee/tea. And they serve their nonalcoholic drinks in paper cups which is tacky for a midscale restaurant. I definitely recommend them for interesting & different types of food.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Irvine. Love the atmosphere. Food was tasty, great portions. Love their adult beverages selections. Staff was attentive despite being very busy. Fri and Sat nights can get very busy. Great place for friends hang out.

Yelp
Great pocha spot with large portions to share with friends. My must order is the spicy chicken and cheese it's so good and tender and their Kimchi stew. I love that the stew has pork belly inside. Their dig rice ball is also really fun and yummy to eat especially with the soup together. I wasn't a huge fan of the egg with spaghetti sauce inside. I think the one without tomato inside would be better.

Yelp
Went late night with some friends. When you first come in, it has a somewhat of night life restaurant bar/pub vibe like the ones in Asia. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly. We ordered the Spicy chicken with mozarella Fondue, spicy pork with mozarella fondue, and the whole fried squid with fries. The squid and fries was good. We as a group preferred the Spicy chicken with mozarella Fondue compared to the spicy pork. But this could just be purely down to preference. The Spicy chicken and spicy pork is not spicy, in my opinion, but we like spicy food. So if you love spicy food, you can handle this one. The whole fried squid was fine. Also got the Apple Mojito Soju Ball and Peach Soju Ball. I would recommend the Peach Soju Ball, but not the Apple Mojito Soju Ball. The Apple Mojito Soju Ball tasted more watered down and it just wasn't good in my opinion. I told the staff and they were really nice about it and willing to take it off the bill or change my drink, and that's how I ended up with the Peach Soju Ball. That one had more Peach Notes in the drink, and it tasted better. Overall food was standard and good and fine, but I wouldn't say it was spectacular, but good. I would still come back here.

Yelp
Overall, I would give the actual vibe of this place a 4.5/5. The music was good, service was attentive, and overall vibe was super lit! We were surprised at how packed it was; it's one of those places where you go for a good time, there's a young crowd with good energy and overall I had a really good time here. But the food itself was disappointing unfortunately. Because the vibes were so good, I would go back and give it a second chance. However the food cannot compare to the late night Korean joints in Buena Park. The chicken wings didn't have much meat on them, was just bone and a lot of skin/breading, flavor was subpar, I usually love chicken wings but couldn't eat more than two. The pork pancake was not very crispy, and the tteokbokki was ok. Overall it's a neat spot to hang out for sure! Just don't expect really good food. Our whole groups favorite thing we ordered was the fries..

Yelp
Went on Saturday around 7pm. Was told wait would be 30mins-1hr (we had 11ppl and didn't do Yelp waitlist) and then told to stand outside to wait while it was sprinkling. Ended up only being ~15min wait. Irvine location is on the smaller side so I wouldn't go again with a large group or feel comfortable hanging out and drinking for too long. My favorites were the grilled chicken gizzards and chicken mozzarella cheese fondue. Nothing we ordered was bad just didn't stand out and the servings were on the smaller side. Won't be my first choice for future outings but I wouldn't be upset about being back.

Yelp
This place was bumpin with lots of people and music. The food was pretty good too. The favorites were the whole grilled squid, whole fried chicken, and jumok bap. Super good! The egg roll was pretty standard, nothing special but just bigger than expected! The ddukbokki was not good, I would not recommend it. It was too soupy, the rice cakes were a little hard, the fish cake was a little discolored and the sauce was just ok. Service was great! Push the bell and the server shows up within a few seconds.
