Great Korean restaurant! Very juicy and crispy spicy garlic fried chicken, perfect with beer! Cheese pork has a strong milky flavor, which is delicious with spicy pork! The sauce of seafood pancake is sweet! I ordered fried rice, which I made into balls by myself and dipped in the sauce of spicy chicken feet, which is really delicious! The spicy chicken feet are very rich in flavor, but spicy, and the meat is very tender! The waiter is very nice and gentle! A perfect dinner, I will come again next time!

Google
A very cute Korean place with good vibes. The menu has a wide variety of food, Korean stew, fried chicken, and even marinated raw crab. Price is very reasonable given that the portion is quite large, it is recommended to visit this place as a big group so you get to try more food. They also open till late, so it will be a pretty good spot for those who want some late night food and drinks.

I was craving spicy marinated crab so badly lately — and I can’t believe I found such a gem so close to home after living here for a year! Their spicy marinated crab is amazing: super fresh, soft, and flavorful. Wrap it with rice and seaweed, or just mix it into a big bowl of rice — it’s heaven. We also tried their Hanshin Dakbal (spicy braised chicken feet), pork mozzarella cheese fondue, and sweet & spicy fried chicken. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Definitely one of my new favorite Korean spots in Oakland. Can’t wait to come back again!

loved this restaurant! the atmosphere was so chill and the music was awesome. the food was hot and delicious i enjoyed every bite. there service was fast and kind. definitely coming back i love the late night hours. we ordered, sweet and spicy boneless chicken and japchae.

Google
It's a Korean restaurant with variety of hot pot, fried chicken and bowls. Service was OK. Staff was responsive. Indoor seating with booths and tables. Ambient is a bit KPop style with KPop show playing on big screen with nice music. Ambient can easily get laud. Food was not as expected, bowls were so sweet watery, no ingredients, tasteless. Classic Fried chicken was so oily, fatty low quality meat. Items are very expensive. Just check the menu! For sure you can get better food else where! None (group of four) could finish their meal despite starving. We ended up MacDonald opposite street for a bite to just change the taste! They seem to play up the game much ahead of tariff/inflation hit! Understand it's a chain reaction and their cost might have gone up too and sorry for businesses :(

K-dramas totally got me craving Korean food—had to come satisfy it at this late-night Korean spot! Perfect for when you want to try a little bit of everything. Open until late! My favorites: 🦀 Spicy Marinated Crab 🐥 Hanshin Dakbal 🍲 Beef Soft of Jjigae 🍙 DIY Rice Ball

Google
Hanshin Dakbal 👏👏👏👏👏 Spicy stir-fried chicken feet—super flavorful and tender! Served sizzling in an iron pan, incredibly satisfying. Must pair with rice and take a big bite. Gochu Maneul Chicken 👏👏👏👏👏 Sweet and savory garlic soy fried chicken—crispy outside, juicy inside. Every piece is evenly coated in sauce. Absolutely delicious! Spicy Marinated Crab 👏👏👏👏 Authentic seasoning. Personally, I don’t find it very spicy. Love mixing the crab meat and sauce into rice and adding some crushed seaweed. So good! DIY Rice Ball 👏👏👏👏👏 Golden tuna rice balls are a must! You can make them smaller, but we were lazy and made four giant lion heads 😂 Fishcake Soup 👏👏 Soup is fresh, but the fishcake texture is a bit firm—kind of like tofu. Gummy Bear Soju 👏👏👏👏👏 Surprised they serve soju with gummy bears! Definitely eat the gummies after drinking—somehow tastes even better! 🍻

Went to Hanshin Pocha in Oakland after work for a Korean dinner with friends — the vibe was great, the food perfect for pairing with drinks, and prices were reasonable. Our server was also, not gonna lie, quite handsome! Must-try dishes: • Spicy marinated crab: Comes in spicy and original flavors. Pro tip: wrap it with rice and seaweed like a sushi roll — absolute flavor bomb! • Grilled whole squid: Super fresh, chewy, and the sauce is so good over rice. • Beef short ribs: Sweet and savory, thick-cut, and super satisfying to bite into. • Whole fried chicken: One of the crispiest I’ve ever had — eat it hot! Don’t skip the pickled radish to cut through the grease (their radish is amazing, wish they sold it separately). • Sides: Fries and fried rice were great value and delicious — $7 and $10! Parking: You can park on the street, behind the building, or at the T-Mobile plaza nearby for more safety.

Yelp
fun social vibe and good food! the service is pretty quick, and they are open super late. we got the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue, tteokboki, and DIY rice ball. these were all perfect for sharing and fun to eat. i will say they were super flavorful, so I recommend getting a variety of dishes. i came back here a second time, and the drinks are lacking. we got a blue lemonade and mango highball, and the blue lemonade one literally tasted like dishwater...

Yelp
I can't recall who recommended this spot, but it did not disappoint and was better than I'd thought it would be. I decided to stop by (without making a reservation) on a Wednesday night with my family and the entire restaurant was empty. We were the only customers there the entire time. I'm assuming more people come here for a late night meal rather than dinner? We ordered the following items and it was more than enough for the 4 of us. - Cheese Pork BBQ - the pork was tender and had a little kick to it and paired perfectly with the mozzarella cheese. - Hanshin Chicken - a whole chicken that is extremely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It even comes with seasoning on the side to dip the chicken in. - Stir-Fried Seafood - loved the crispy fried noodles and all the seafood that came with it but could have used a bit more flavor. I would stop by again to try other items on their menu. Telegraph Ave is known for many Korean restaurants but parking can be a bit tricky due to limited street parking.

Yelp
Food was excellent. 5 stars. Our server was really nice but our order got messed up and somehow the order didn't get placed. We waited for 25 minutes and then called them to find out where our food was. This is when they realized their mistake. We had our food 5 minutes later... And it was very good. We had never been here before but glad to find it. They give you a flashing light on your table to alert the server if you need anything which I thought was a really good idea. It's busy and loud so it really helped get their attention. We ordered the chadol Sundubu-Jjigae or spicy stew with tofu and juicy beef brisket. It was enough for 2 to share.

Yelp
I can here for late night eats after a concert on a Friday night and I really loved the vibes! I honestly love the chairs. They were weirdly so comfortable and low to the ground but something about it stood out to me. We ordered two dishes and I just remembered the pork with cheese being very salty. You were supposed to wrap it in the cheese, and so that would make things better. I definitely love a good spicy, sour, salty, cheesy, combo at night so it hit the spot for me! The portion sizes are also huge. Me and 2 friends were stuffed!

Yelp
Super fun + authentic pocha to get some drinks and finger foods with friends in the area. Only thing for me would be that a lot of things are pretty pricey. I would come for the nightlife vibes, splurge on drinks mostly, and only get small finger foods like jeon and chicken for a night out here.

Yelp
Stopped by here with a friend and it was relatively busy. They seated us pretty quickly. I will say, the vibes were very good. We were definitely the smallest group in the restaurant and after getting seated and our menu, we ordered drinks and said we needed some time with the menu and they gave us a lot of time. When we did order, food came pretty quickly and was solid. Is it my new favorite Korean spot? No, but it's a great place if you want to wow a friend with a cheese pull.

Yelp
This spot is perfect for late night eats or a night out with a group of friends! Service is super quick and attentive and I love how they added the fake siren light to notify them. Must orders: Spicy Pork with Cheese Kimchi Stew Whole Fried Chicken

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha stands out from other pochas for serving unique Korean dishes. I've dined in this establishment a couple times and find this place to be super packed, whether it be a weekday or weekend night. My favorite items are the whole grilled squid, chicken feet, garlic and pepper fried chicken, and soft tofu soup. All items were really flavorful and had the perfect amount of seasoning or spice. I've never experienced spicy stir-fried chicken feet, so this dish absolutely blew me away! I loved how the grilled squid was not too chewy as well. Generous portions of crispy and crunchy fried chicken. The cheese is so addicting to eat and pairs well with meat and fried items. This restaurant is great for small and large groups, but I recommend coming with more people to try more items. Most dishes are priced around $30, but I think it's reasonable in terms of quality and portions.

Yelp
This is just based on my DoorDash delivery order and I have not dined in person. I haven't tried soy sauce marinated raw crab before, but plenty of the spicy marinated kind especially when I lived in LA. I have been wanting to try since I see it all over social media and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. And it did not disappoint at all and I am so glad I was able to try it here. The flavor is perfectly balanced, and the crab meat is so creamy and with the rice mix that you pay extra for all blended together, it's just amazing. I would definitely be ordering from here again if I am in the area. Next time I would order two so I can have more leftovers!

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha is a fun late night hang out spot! They have a wide variety of Korean dishes. I came here with a group of 8, and we ordered family-style. This is the best since the dishes are large and perfect for sharing. We arrived around 7:30 p.m., and the restaurant wasn't as busy as it was later. I suggest making reservations if possible. The staff is friendly, and service is fast. Now for the food, we tried several dishes. -Chadol Sundubu, Spicy Beef Stew 5/5: this soup was delicious! The flavor was great and it wasn't salty. -DYI Rice Ball 5/5: I love this dish. It is simple but quite palatable. The mix of all the ingredients makes the rice balls very flavorful. We tried two kinds, regular and tuna. I have to say I like the simplicity and flavor of the regular ones but the tuna one was good too. Pork Mozzarella Cheese Fondue 5/5: This was a very delicious dish. I was surprised how good it was. I am always skeptical when I order pork because it can be dry at times. It wasn't here at all! It was very tender, and the spices with the cheese mix were perfection! - Yangnyeom Chicken 3.5/5: I'm not a huge fan of the chicken. Other dishes tasted better to me but some people in my party loved it. Fried Chicken Gizzards 3.5/5: They were good, a bit too oily for my taste, but the flavor was good. I didn't eat a lot of this dish. -Kimchi Fried Rice 2/5: this was not a good dish. I was pretty disappointed. The rice was swimming in cheese, and it didn't taste like kimchi fried rice. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, this is a fun place for a late-night hangout with a group of friends. The food isn't outstanding, but they have some good dishes. The atmosphere makes this place better!

Yelp
We always go here and it's our go to Korean spot in Oakland. We've even shot a food review here and the service is always top notch. But today, our first time meeting and being served by Daniel and he's got to be one of the best servers we've been helped by. Always attentive and always checking in at the RIGHT TIME. We felt comfortable right away and he made it better with his presence. Ambiance and food is always great here but the service we have received was another cherry on top. Thank you Daniel. What a great dinner once again from Hanshin Pocha. Also wanted to add the tall lady who's always wearing glasses and long skirt. She gives me wholesome manager vibes but very attentive and helpful as well. Wish we got her name! Kimchi Jeongol 10/10: spice level is at a medium and tolerable. Fried Gizzards with fries: 9/10 - flavor is amazing and addicting. Perfect pair with your alcoholic drinks. Giving it a 9 cuz it could get quite greasy but the flavor was just too good to not eat it.

Yelp
08.12.2024 - Post hiking dinner Plenty of seats available on a Monday evening around 8pm. Service is quick and friendly. Ordered from every page of their menu. Loved the spicy chicken feet. Wish it was cooked more for tender chewiness. It was on the tougher side. But the flavor was good. One of the better seafood pancakes I've had. Corn cheese comes with pork potstickers so the presentation was good. Added bell peppers slightly ruined the taste of a classic cheesy corn. Next time, will ask to withhold bell peppers. Whole fried chicken was lacking seasoning and the meat tasted dried. Chicken butthole aka gizzard was good. Loved the generous garlic portion. Served with a side of sesame/salt/pepper sauce which enhanced the butthole. Spicy mussel jjamppong was tasty. Extremely salty though. But with a balanced seasoning, this will be my go-to. They added pork meat which was a little disappointing as I didn't notice the description mentioning any pork. As someone who's allergic to pork, this was a surprise. Thursdays and Sundays they offer happy hour. Thursdays - B3G1 soju Sundays - I forgot. (Lol) something to do with beer and soju prices. Anyhow, whenever I'm in the mood for a late night dinner, I'll definitely consider dining here again.

Yelp
Solid Korean food. The kimchi fried rice came out hot and was delicious. Cool spot to come with a group of friends and spend the night. They use table sirens to signal for help- quirky touch that gives some personality. Stop by if you're in the area, won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We were stoked to try this place! To start with the good, the service is quite stellar since they have the flashing siren light as a way to grab their attention. The fried chicken was the best item here ! The spicy crab comes in next as it's quite flavorful, just wish they had rice, seaweed + other bonchon to pair it with. The rest was allright. We got the stir fry squid, cheese and pork, and tteokbokki and those were decent. Great place to try out!! Not sure if I'll be back. It is one of the few marinated crab places in the east bay so that's a standout Seats are not very comfortable.

Yelp
My fiancée and I really liked this place! He got off work really, really late and needed to find a place that was open late. Hanshin stays open until just past midnight. Luckily we found street parking right in the front at around 1030pm. We got seated right away. It's such a fun, lively spot! They play music and people are def enjoying soju/beer with their meals. They give you a flashing light to turn on when you need attention. We ordered soy marinated crab, fried chicken, galbi, and kim chi rice. Portions are large and probably could've fed 6 people with the amount we ordered. My favorite was the crab, I've never had it before. It was so flavorful and I practically whacked the whole thing by myself. The chicken could've been crunchier and the galbi more tender but we still def enjoyed ourselves. Service was quick and attentive!

Yelp
Didn't realize I was sleeping on the hidden gem in the Temescal. I ordered the raw spicy marinated crab with the DIY rice balls, and they were both great and went well with each other. I'm thrilled to be visiting again very soon to try some other dishes too. Keep up the great work!

Yelp
I came here around 7pm on a Saturday night with some friends. There wasn't a line. We ordered several dishes to share: beef belly tteokbokki, kimchi jeongol, sweet and spicy korean fried chicken, 2 fried rice and 1 white rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! All the flavors were on point. I wish I can handle spicy more so I can eat more of everything! The prices for the portion sizes were fairly reasonable. 10/10 recommend! I encourage you to come with more people to share the dishes because they have a lot of large portion dishes.

Yelp
My friends were craving Friday late night fried chicken after our friend's wedding, so we decided to make a stop at Hanshin since I've seen good things about it on Instagram Reels but never had a reason to go to Oakland!! It worked out quite well, we ordered two orders of fried chicken with fries and kimchi fried rice. Really nice ambiance. My friends and I got take out to take to our AirBNB a few minutes away and it took around 10-15 minutes to come out for us, but I definitely feel like I missed out on a good experience! The fried chicken was made with dark meat and very juicy/well breaded. Fries were kinda eh, not really any seasoning or flavor on them. Texture was okay, like fresh McDonald's fries (no soggy ones, to my discontent). The kimchi fried rice sat on a bed of cheese, which ended up hardening and taking on the form of the plastic to-go container since typically they're supposed to sit on a hot plate when you order it in the restaurant (duh). I wish we just got a good portion of kimchi fried rice instead of an obscene amount of cheese- even if it sat on a hot plate, the amount was frankly overwhelming and seemed like a cash grab to keep profit margins up? Which is strange, considering kimchi fried rice is also inexpensive. That's the only explanation I can come up with. The kimchi flavor isn't super present and it tastes a tad sweet, wish it was more fermented.

Yelp
Came here after a concert at midnight - they closed at 1230am but we made it for last call! Love the vibe, very clean interior with round tables like the ones you see in K-dramas in the center and more spacious booths along the walls. Servers were nice enough even though we came in so late. The menu is extensive with nice pictures of all the food. Pricing is to be expected - $15-25 for larger plates. I loved the pork jiggae or stew. Came out with a large portion piping hot. Nice chunks of pork and sausage with that quintessential sour kimchi taste. The pepper chicken was good but a bit more soggy than I am used to eating at more traditional Korean fried chicken joints. I wanted a little more crunch. It's a HUGE portion though! The corn cheese Mandu was tasty. I liked the addition of fried Mandu on top. The kimchi fried rice was a miss to me because it was surrounded by too much cheese. I normally like it just on its own with more rice. The cheese was overwhelming. Good for late night eats. They have deals on soju and beer too but we weren't drinking that night.

Yelp
Arrived around dinner time on a weekend. Parking is street & it was fairly safe. There was no wait and staff are attentive. The ambience is lively with Kpop songs. I came here mainly for the marinated raw crab but ordered so much more. I was blown away by the food. Everything was delicious, esp paired with soju. Spicy marinated crab: fire! You eat it with the rice & not hard to eat. They give you gloves 5/5 Soy marinated crab: pretty good, but prefer the spicy one more. 4/5 Boneless chicken: super crispy and paired well with their sauce 5/5 Marinated chicken feet: it was good, but spicy for my friends. 4/5 Spicy pork belly with cheese: fire, but was overwhelming 4/5 Kimchi stew: perfect portion and really good. 5/5 I def would come back.

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha appears to be a well known chain of Korean restaurants. I've gone there a few times with my wife and we've particularly enjoyed their pork dishes, their rice balls or fried rice, and we really enjoy that there are a few different squid options on the menu (fried, grilled, or stir fried). This location used to be the Oakland Bowl'd and while we miss that place, we're glad they're in this spot now and their team offer great service. When we've gone on a weekend it has been pretty busy with a lot of a full tables, but their staff have been super responsive. Parking can be tricky in that Temescal commercial part of Telegraph but I'm glad when it's busy in Oakland. Good place! This place is now in our rotation of Asian or Korean places.

Yelp
3.5/5 stars We ordered a soy sauce raw marinated crab ($35) which came with a bowl of rice, DIY rice balls ($6), and a squid ($18). I also ordered a beer with a shot of soju ($10). The crab was not as great as expected. I didn't think it was very flavorful. There was a lot of meat but there was no roe which was a pity. However, we squeezed all the crab out into the DIY rice ball bowl and added the extra bowl of rice into it and it was sooooo good. But it was super flavorful with the sesame seeds and seaweed. No need to roll it out since the rice is super soft and doesn't form a ball easily but it is quite fun to make a few for fun. The squid was hard and tiny portion sized so I do not recommend.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 TL;DR: Looks like such a fun spot to come & have drinks with friends at night. There's plenty of tables & booths but it still feels quite spacious and love the vibe they have going on. We came for dinner during the weekday so it was fairly empty and no wait for a table. Parking can be hard to find since it's only street parking and it's in a busy area (but park in the walgreens down the street if you have to lol. They have a huge menu and I loved how there were pictures for each item. Everything is a little on the pricier side but for how good it tastes, I think its worth it. The staff is really nice, but for how empty the place was, the service is quite slow. So far, one of my favorite pocha places in the bay. Definitely want to come back here at night with more friends next time! Fried Rice: *3/5*: personally not a huge fan of this because it was incredibly spicy. I believe it's made with the dakjjim sauce but it was way spicier than it needed to be. The flavor of the fried rice is good but your mouth is burning after one bite. Even my friends who eat pretty spicy thought it was too much. Also, I wished the bottom of the rice was a little more "burnt" Soy Marinated Raw Crabs: *4/5*: This was really good, not as good as what you could get in LA obv, but pretty good for when you're craving marinated crab. The meat is really creamy and packed with umami and great to eat with rice. I also love how it came out on a bed of sliced green onions which you could eat with it. Cut the richness of the crab & super delicious since it's soaked in the sauce too Fried Gizzard: *5/5*: This is was my favorite thing of the night. It comes with deep fried gizzard, onions, peppers, and french fries. The fries were super soggy but it soaked up all the flavor so still good. The fried gizzard was so delicious -- the batter is very flavorful and crispy and the gizzard is soft yet nice and chewy. This would be perfect as a late night drinking snack -- def ordering this every time Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken: *4/5*: The fry on this was amazing -- super crispy and yummy, even though it's covered in sauce, it's still so crunchy. The sauce was really good, but reminded me more of a Chinese sweet & sour pork sauce, it wasn't spicy at all. And they give you A LOT -- looks like a whole chicken. We took a little more than half home, and eating it as leftovers, we still couldn't finish it all. Overall, personally not a huge fan of this sauce but my friends loved it Chadol Sundubu: *2.5/5*: This tasted more like yukgaejang with tofu added to it than it tasted like sundubu. The meat was soft & tender & I liked the veggies in out. However, it has this weird Chinese medicinal herb / medicine taste to it that I couldn't quite get over so not a fan of this. They do give you a lot though so for the price, might be worth it to try.

Yelp
I can't believe it's been almost a year since my last visit to Hanshin Pocha! I stopped by with a reservation on a Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. with a group of 8 and the place was pretty crowded. If you have a large group, I would definitely recommend getting a reservation beforehand to avoid a long wait. We came for the seasonal soy marinated crab, but also ended up ordering a seafood pancake, a kimchi pancake, a fried rice, and a platter of both of their wings. This ended up being the perfect amount of food for our group. The highlight of the night was definitely the soy marinated crab. This was my first time trying out the dish and I was shocked by the texture (or lack thereof) of the crab. There is so much briny goodness with each bite. The crab meat oozes out of its shell with the smallest amount of pressure. By itself, the crab eats a bit salty. I would recommend ordering a few extra bowls of rice to go with the crab, as each order only comes with a single bowl. Plastic gloves are provided so you don't dirty your hands eating the crab, and you'll also have a container for your discarded crab shell. Very cool experience worth trying out if you're in the area around this time of year.

Yelp
F O O D: 3.5/5 - raw marinated crab (soy) - as soon as the plate was put down i was hit with the smell of the ocean, so if you're reluctant around fishy smells/food then i would advise against it. personally, i'm a seafood lover but i prefer cooked crab just because im not a huge fan of how raw crab is super jelly and mushy like 4.5/5 - pork belly with cheese - yuuummm this was so good with a beer and white rice. on the heavy side bc of the cheese but flavorful profile was good, you can get sick of it so i suggest ordering other dishes. S E R V I C E: 10/10 - our server was super cool super chill very responsive E N V I R O N M E N T: 11/10 - played all the hip hop bangers, nice red lighting inside, very spacious, lively even late at night (we dined at midnight), a place to go to def with friends for a good time

Yelp
I arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 PM on a Sunday to find it relatively quiet with no waiting time. Opting for a variety of dishes, including soy sauce raw crab, Korean Fried Chicken, grilled squid, kimchi fried rice, and a boiled egg, our anticipation was high. Regrettably, the culinary experience did not meet expectations. The soy sauce raw crab lacked the anticipated sweetness and flavor profile. While the grilled squid and boiled egg were deemed acceptable, they failed to impress. The kimchi fried rice was notably oversalted, detracting from its overall appeal. Moreover, the service aspect left much to be desired. Despite the modest occupancy, there was a considerable delay in food service, surpassing 30 minutes. Additionally, a communication lapse occurred with our waiter, resulting in the incorrect order being brought to our table. Subsequently, there was a notable absence of apology or acknowledgment for the oversight. In summary, while the restaurant offered a diverse selection of Korean cuisine, the underwhelming flavors and service shortcomings detracted from the overall dining experience. As a result, I am not going to revisit this establishment, as it fell short of meeting the expected standards of culinary excellence and service professionalism.

Yelp
Such a fun spot for good Korean food in Temescal! Would recommend coming with a group so you can try more dishes. I've been meaning to come by here to try their raw marinated crab, and finally had a chance to do so last Saturday. My party of 3 came for an early dinner around 6, and it was quite empty when we arrived. I think this spot is definitely more popular for late night drinks and food. Because it was early, we found free street parking easily a block away. I loved the vibes here. It's a large space with plenty of tables and booths, and it didn't feel cramped at all. They really blast the music (mostly American pop songs while we were here) so I loved the ambiance. The menu has a good variety of options (not much for vegetarians though, sorry!). I appreciated that there were pictures and clear descriptions for every dish, so even if you're not super familiar with Korean food like I am, it was easy to decide what to get. We shared: Soy sauce raw crab ($35) - this was SO good! I didn't see it on the menu, so we had to ask for it directly from the server. They have both spicy and non-spicy versions of this, and we opted for the non-spicy version because I'm a spice wimp. It comes with gloves for everyone, which is very necessary since it gets messy to squeeze the crab meat out. While the raw crab meat is creamy and tasty, it is quite salty, so you'll definitely want to eat it with rice. We actually ordered a second bowl of rice for an extra 2 bucks because we found one to be not enough. Chicken and green onion muchim ($18.95) - pan fried chicken served with a spicy chili sauce and a wasabi-based sauce. I didn't like it that much as I found the chicken a bit bland without the chili sauce Korean fried chicken - garlic and pepper ($28.95) - solid KFC, what can I say? My friends and I were all pretty impressed with this dish and devoured it. Also, portions are huge since you're getting a whole chicken fried. We all really enjoyed the food here. I'd love to come back with more friends so we can try even more items!

Yelp
Came here because we heard great things about their food. We tried the Korean fried chicken and what's odd is it came out less minutes. Never the less we decided to eat it. Sadly it seems like it was already fried and refry again. Usually when we get fried chicken it will be around 15 mins or so and when it comes out it should be really hot and crunchy. We did not get that. It wasn't crispy nor crunchy, it was not hot or fresh... we mentioned it to the server and the manager however they said we sat under the vent so that's why the chicken isn't as hot. Hmm long story short we're disappointed. The atmosphere is great though ! Super clean inside !

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha is the spot for a good time! The dakgalbi is a cheesy, spicy masterpiece that'll have you saying "chef's kiss" with every bite. The vibe? 1000/10 -- huge space, perfect for stuffing your face and sipping drinks with friends until the night's gone. Just beware: the spice is real! Service is as easy as pushing a button -- literally! press a button and your table flashes for the waiter to come to you!

Yelp
As far as I know, this spot is the first in the SF/East Bay Area to offer authentic Soy-marinated Korean raw crab--a true delicacy and a must-try in Korean cuisine. Originating from LA's Korean town, this restaurant recently expanded to the Bay Area. While they offer some traditional Korean fare, the vibe and menu here seem to cater more to the younger crowd. Open late every night with a bar-like atmosphere, they serve trendy street-style Korean dishes popular among younger Koreans. Surprisingly affordable, the marinated crab is fresh and delicious, embodying quintessential Korean flavors--an acquired taste due to its rawness and texture for most people, but I would say, worth trying at least once. Raw crab: 10/10 Rice ball (vegetarian): 8.5/10 Pork belly + melted cheese: 8/10 Excited to return and explore more dishes like the hot pot and seafood pancake from their extensive menu! Special shout-out to the friendly and sociable waitress with glasses--she made our experience even better!

Yelp
Came on a Friday shortly after they opened and were seated immediately, it's a big space with lots of tables for groups. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, the whole fried chicken, spicy bbq pork with cheese, and the donkatsu. Everything came out piping hot, and was delicious! It was more than enough food for four people and easy to share. The dishes with cheese were so good, eat it fast though because it'll start to harden as it gets cooler. The flavors of everything was great and the fried items were crispy. A great place to come and catch up with friends!

Yelp
I had a great time at Hanshin Pocha! We came on a Wednesday night and were seated instantly by the server. The place was dim-lit, I was nervous it would be bar-like but the place was still pretty open. We ordered the Chicken Feet with Rice Balls, BBQ Pork with Cheese, Chicken with Scallion Salad, Stir Fry Seafood, and Soy Raw Marinated Crab. This was my first time trying raw marinated crab, and it was SO GOOD! The crab was cold and had a nice sweet soy flavor that paired so well with rice. It was jelly-like and melted in your mouth. I also really liked the Chicken with Scallion Salad. They had a chili oil and wasabi dressing on top which made the entire dish so much more elevated. The chicken itself was grilled and tender. I thought the BBQ pork was also very well done. It was spicy and the cheese helped add more creaminess to complement the spice. However, it was heavier and I was only to take a bite or two. The stir fry seafood was also good, but it wasn't anything special. The seafood were flavored well with this soy-based sauce, and the noodles were crispy. The chicken feet were not my favorite though. It was incredibly spicy, which is fine, but the feet had too much of a chew to it. I think all I could taste was spice and was not able to enjoy the meat as much. But definitely the rice balls were very delicious. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go again for special occasions!

Yelp
This is my second time trying Hanshin Pocha. Starting with the plus, I love that the interior is very clean and modern while staying open pretty late, offering a great hangout spot to drink with friends. As for food, this is the department I think they're lacking. It's one of the very few places where you can find the raw marinated crab dish. They offer it in both spicy or soy flavor. For $40+ each, I think this is veryyy steep. It's worth trying but I wouldn't order it again (this is actually my second time ordering it because my friend wanted to try). Another dish we ordered was the spicy chicken feet. It was served over a flame and a bowl of bland beansprout soup. I did not like this dish at all and it was very very spicy. We also ordered this iced, milky alcoholic drink which was really nice and complimented the spicy food. Overall I'd maybe comeback to have some late night drinks, but I definitely think there are better food options nearby.

Yelp
This is definitely a poppin place to be at, it's in north Oakland so the area isn't too bad. Waited maybe 20 mins for a table. Make sure you come here early! We got here around 8ish, because it does get super busy here! This place is has a lot of young folks here eating and chatting it up. It's not too far from UC Berkeley so I def understand how this could be the go to late night spot. We only ordered the marinated crabs because I haven't had any in a long time and was so happy to see them offer this. The spicy marinated crab was so good!! Had so much flavor and it was kick in some spice in it!! I highly think you should order that one it's by far my favorite out of the 2. The soy marinated crab actually threw me off because when I think of "soy" like soy sauce I think of salty. Maybe I'm just used to the salted soy crabs like how a lot of SEA eat so this one took me by suprise. It was more on the sweeter end. It wasn't my favorite but it was def good. For 35$ a plate you get a good amount and the quality is good and fresh, no stinky fishy/ sea water smell and the flavors are there. We only came for the crabs but next time I will have to order more since the menu has some good stuff I wanna try. Overall I think you guys should come, not only is the food and ambience nice, but there are cute people who come here too and staff is so friendly

Yelp
Disappointed in the Tiktok advertising We came here early on a Friday night. There is no way to call you back so you have to wait there. There were about 6 parties ahead of us. We were excited to try a new place but were incredibly disappointed. The pork and cheese came out 30 mins after we ordered but we expected a wait since it was so busy. We were confused why the raw marinaded crabs were taking so long because they are supposed to be marinated the night before to make it safe to consume. The owner wrote in another review that they ran out of items that needed to be prepped on the fly.I hope they didnt serve us crab they prepped before serving but the flavor was so light i think they might have. The other food took a long time to come and when it finally did the female waiter with glasses said something rude to us about waiting for all the food. I understand she was busy but no coming to check on us and giving us additude was uncalled for. The food was good but pretty spicy. For some people in my party it was untolerable. They also dont disclose all of the ingredients on the menu. We thought the chicken would just have green onions but were met by a spicy wasabi sauce on top which made it hard to eat.

Yelp
We got here just in time before the huge dinner rush since discovering this place on tik tok! The food overall was good. Everything had a good kick to it. The soy marinated crab was really good and very popular. The DIY rice balls were so good and fun that you get to make your own. Soft tofu Soup was piping hot and very good. The cheese and chicken were also a hit! Will definitely be back! Service was so so once they got really busy.

Yelp
Came here for a friends bday and they accommodated us pretty well. We had a large party and broke up the checks but it really wasn't an issue for the servers, which I really appreciated. This place had such good vibes inside too so it was the perfect place to go for a bday. Now the food - let me tell you it is BOMB! We got the Pork bbq with cheese (10/10). This is one of the popular menu items and I can tell why with the cheese pull and spicy meat combo. We also tried the Bulgogi tteokbokki (8/10). It was very tasty, I just wish it came with more rice cake and beef. They also have soju and soju towers.

Yelp
Love this place and it reminds me so much of a Korean Hof/Pocha. We got a few items with Korean rice wine (makgeolli), which was a perfect combo on a hot day. The spicy pork with cheese was balanced with the cold rice wine, made it a perfect drinking food. Also got that seafood pancake, one of our staple items and the DIY riceballs (jumeokbab), which was fun to make. One good thing about this place is that they open late so if you want some late night drinks and food like in Korea, this is the place for you. Great ambiance with lively atmosphere and music being played.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday for a friend's birthday and were so excited to try a new place with great ambiance! The dishes we tried were fresh, flavorful, and tasty. We ordered the chicken wings and they were huge! Wish it was a bit more on the crispier side. The only downside we experienced was the service was quite slow, and they forgot a couple of our items until we reminded them. While the staff was friendly and apologetic, it did impact our dining experience.

Yelp
Spacious and lively ambience, ideal for groups. We celebrated my bestfriend's birthday here and they accommodated for a large group of 15+. We called our reservation the night ahead so I'd plan early since the weekends are packed. The highlight was the food, everything was sooo tasty but what came to the top for me were definitely the steamed eggs and the seafood tteokbokki! A nearly perfect experience until our server got snappy with our friend's question. They seemed overwhelmed managing a big crowd, but the challenging communication was unnecessary. That dampened the experience and knocked a star off for me.

Yelp
Spicy lovers unite! Yangnum fried chicken - sweet, spicy, tangy, savory sauce crispy crunchy double fried skin and the juicy meat were all perfect, just like Vons Mandu - crispy skin dumplings, a Lil reminiscent of Ling Ling with extra tapioca/ rice flourish fried crust was a good mouth feel. Chicken feet - full of collagen for good skin, even the soup coagulated when cooled and you know it's both good and bad for you. The healthy collagen mixed with the ultra spicy peppers. This did not turn out well coming out the other end but was very tasty. Had this with the DIY rice balls to cool my tongue down Atmosphere was lounge like, like an Asian club Service was friendly though we could've had some more check ins for napkins (very messy or sticky foods and had to grab napkins from other tables Overall I think I would be back but with a larger group , it would also be a good place for casual drinks

Yelp
Really enjoyed the ambience as my a group of friends and I came and got to eat family style trying different items. I really recommend their udon and their spicy chicken as well. The servers were kind and helpful with all our requests and needs. The fried rice was at a really great price but spicy, so I hope you have a good spice tolerance (for all their dishes!)

Yelp
Unique Korean restaurant nestled in Oakland. This place is legit and they're open for lunch on Friday and the weekends! They have stuff that is not common. It's not just the same old Kalbi or fried chicken. Soy marinated crabs were delicious. Fried gizzard was perfectly breaded and absolutely scrumptious. Fried chicken was perfectly fried, light breading on the outside, super tender flavorful chicken inside. Service was friendly and attentive Plenty of seats in the restaurant but still feels spacious instead of cramped. Definitely recommend this spot.

Yelp
I didn't realize that "pocha" is bar food. I was initially surprised by the limited menu and lack of KBBQ meats. Most items are also quite spicy and/or salty, but it makes sense since the food is meant to be paired with drinks. Overall, it's not my favorite type of Korean food, but the ambiance and service is 5-stars here. The staff is very nice and attentive, and provided us with menu recommendations.

Yelp
Hanshin Pocha finally opened in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood. Yay! The Best Late night spot for Korean Street Food and it's so good!! Everything we ordered was so delicious and full of flavors! The Korean Fried Chicken was delicious, it was sweet, spicy and crunchy. The chicken feet is a must order- fall off the bone collagen deliciousness with a hint of sweet and spicy, it would be so good with some beer or Soju. The DIY Rice ball was so much fun to make, and the BBQ pork with cheese was so good. Make sure to bring your friends and family for a yummy dinner or late night snack with delicious drinks! So much fun.

Yelp
Since this place opened in temescal, I cannot stop coming back it's just so damn good! My favorite here is the bbq pork with cheese (10/10) - I dream about it. It pairs really well with rice, or eating with the steamed egg (another 10/10). The squid wasn't too bad, it was good for what it was. Our hostess was so funny and friendly - great service overall, had to leave a nice tip! My only qualm with HP is that the menu is pretty limited - not much options for my vegetarian friends. Which is a bummer since I would say this spot is a place you would go to with friends because of the layout.

Yelp
Visited this spot for the first time in oakland and it was delicious! I ordered a few things on the menu with my party and would definitely come again. My favorite was the chicken mozzarella cheese fondue! it was served on a hot plate and each piece of meat was coated in a spicy sauce. overall, the flavors paired really well together. The kimchi jeongol was also a great choice as well. the portion was huge and kept warm from the small fire underneath the pot! not too spicy and would be good with an order of rice to accompany the broth. would love to try the raw marinated crab next time!

Yelp
Lunch specials are wonderful and filling. Pictures show the tofu beef stew and the beef and cheese specials. Plenty of spicy leftovers! Highly recommend. Service was perfect.

Yelp
I actually first tried this place in LA and so I was excited to try the Oakland location! Service was fast and inside was super clean. Fish Cake Soup - super comforting and warm. Broth was light and fish cakes were tender! Steamed egg - star of the show and my personal favorite. Loved this dish!! So flavorful and light. Pork Belly & Cheese - flavorful as well and super good. Pork was tender and saucy! Would recommend this for a late night hang out w friends!! 10/10
