I thought it was terrific when this market was one of the few places open during the COVID lockdown some time in April - despite the apocalyptic conditions of ransacked shelves (no SPAM!), I found certain groceries (bag of red beans, frozen crab meat, rice, etc) to sustain me until the world (and other supermarkets) reached some semblance of normalcy. I returned recently to see what this place was like under (somewhat) normal conditions. Shelves were stocked (the return of SPAM on the shelves!), it looked cleaner - but it was quite bare of customers (it wasn't due to the time of day since I had just left Hmart which was packed). I think I was one of eight-ten people shopping. Terrific, I thought, no need to sidestep anyone to maintain social distancing. I get home and looked at my store receipt(s). One generated from their cash register, the other generated from the credit card register. Two different totals. $19.06 vs. $20.00. They actually take your credit card and swipe it for you, then hand you your card back. Normally after the credit card swipe, it asks you to OK the total charge displayed. So they have control of this part of the process, to perhaps punch in a different total. So they took an additional $.94 in their favor, not a huge amount - but you know what, guys? Do you know what one can't put a price tag on? Your lack of honesty and integrity. You will not keep customers around doing business this way- and based on the lack of customers, it's a lesson you will need to really learn.
