Small take-out only. The food was adequate, maybe good by Baltimore standards, but I found the seasoning bland in my beef udon noodle dish.

Got some basic fried rice with pork just to try something close by. The food tasted like it was made in old oil, tasted burnt and bitter.

An extra star because the young lady at the register was very nice. All of the food was very bad and seemed like very low quality. The General Tso’s chicken was the worst I’ve ever had. The texture / consistency was not far off from beef jerky. There are definitely better options available.

The food prices was reasonable!! They were able to add special requests like putting and egg in fried rice :) thanks for the fast friendly service!!

Great customer service! For me to not have been in the facility and to have received great customer care over the phone I highly recommend for this alone. The food was great! My order consisted of bourbon chicken with lo mein, shrimp egg foo young with fried rice, shrimp egg rolls, dumplings and donuts. The chicken was better than any mall bourbon I’ve ever had. The donuts were warm even though it was delivery with an excess amount of sugar which I loved as I don’t eat them in one setting so there will be sugar even after being microwaved. Everything else was normal but still worth it as nothing was wrong with the quality, quantity, or price!!!

We ordered on Grubhub for delivery. The food is not good at all. The beef drunken noodles is so salty I can’t even eat it. The egg drop won ton soup and the shrimp with lobster sauce so bland no taste. The shrimp fried rice so dried. We ate a little bit of everything and not worth the money over charged. I was so disappointed and never would order here again.

Shrimp dumplings are ON POINT. The Xaio Long Bao were nearly as amazing, and the Dai Bao was good but light on filling. Sweet and sour chicken was phenomenal, all white meat chicken breast perfectly cooked and a generous portion. While it may be a few bucks more than some of the other standard Chinese options in SOWEBO it's the best I've had. I like that the menu is a little eclectic and has some different things you won't find at China House, Oriental Wok, etc. Excited to keep exploring the menu!

I wasn’t going to leave a comment and just take it as a loss but it’s been eating me up. I ordered shrimp egg foo young, tofu and egg rolls through Door Dash. The egg rolls were disgusting and mushy on the inside as if they were frozen then immediately dropped in hot grease. The most upsetting part was that each of my SHRIMP egg foo young patties came with ONLY TWO pieces of shrimp in them. WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH ONLY TWO PIECES OF SHRIMP? I don’t know if thats how the prepare theirs or they were getting over because I ordered on DD. I have never seen nothing like it before. I would have requested a return from DD had I not been eating with someone else and running behind on time. Do better.

Best Chinese place in Fells point area hands-down their food is super consistent and the customer service is so friendly.

Pretty good greasy Chinese food with decent sized portions. The garlic pork was actually bomb and so was the fried rice. Great for a hangover!

Friendly staff, fast service, huge portions, fresh food, reasonable prices. I will definitely be ordering again. Bonus: they don't serve fish (I'm allergic) so no chance of cross contamination!

We don't eat out often as we don't have money like that but today we chose Hao Chi based on the reviews. I wish we had gone elsewhere We ordered $70 worth of food for pickup and left a $10 tip. Out of all the food we purchased, all of the chicken was too dry to eat, the dumplings were burned to a crisp and sent out anyways, the noodles in the lo mein were dry and crispy. When asked for house mustard, they had none, when asked for chili oil they gave us chili sauce. And only 4 packs of soy sauce and 4 packs of mustard were given for a family of 4 . Terrible place I would not recommend. The chef has absolutely no pride in their food whatsoever. I truly hope they see this and stop giving this garbage to people. This is not Chinese food, this isn't even food. Absolutely terrible

It was not worth $14 for sub par mediocre orange chicken. The prices on the menu are misleading, it says $10 but they are "crossed out" lightly with pen and there are no replacement prices. It was a large portion but the broccoli was undercooked and the chicken was overcooked. Lots of leftover hard broccoli and soggy chicken. I wish i had walked a few blocks and gone somewhere else

Solid Chinese locally in Fells Point... reminds me of the Carry Outs in DC. It's what you would expect. Nothing more, nothing less...

I'm always on the quest for good takeout, and after seeing this place recommended on my delivery app for the 100th time I decided to finally try it out. I ordered the vegetable lo mein (with extra mushrooms so I could qualify for free delivery) and it was pretty good! Nothing crazy remarkable, but solid Chinese takeout which is something everyone needs. The veggies were all fresh, the noodles and seasoning were tasty, and it arrived hot! No complaints at all.

I food this little "hole in the wall" place with my husband and we love it! We live about 35 minutes away and every time we are near the area, we specifically stop here. We've been about 6/7 times so far and will definitely be going back! My husband always gets his a very specific way and they are always super polite and make it just the way he asks! Mines always absolutely delicious. It always is hot and well worth the money! Happy to have found this place!

I sadly have not found a good Chinese place in Baltimore as be generous to rate the best as 3 stars until now. Only got once as delivery on Xmas and came quickly. Food was good as not overly greasy, decent serving size and Good flavor. For those that like it spicy mine was not even with eating the peppers. Will order again.

I only tried one dish -- the szechuan tofu with rice -- but it was fantastic and the price was reasonable ($13 including a bottle of water). It's basically a take-out place with a couple tables.

The food was pretty okay for Chinese. I got the orange chicken with white rice combo, and it came out hot and packaged very nicely. The chicken was just okay, and the white rice was simple. It's good food for when you're really craving Chinese, but don't expect it to be the best Chinese you have ever had. The young lady at the register was so nice to my friends and I. She was sweet and helped my foreign friend with ordering since he was having trouble understanding the menu. Props to her! The store was very cozy and calm, and the view through the window allowed us to look at some of the different restaurants. The door was wide open and inviting. I wish there was a little bit of quiet music in the background. Other than that, it was pretty good!

Hao Chi is located in busy Fells Point, right on Broadway. Their Chinese food is delicious--perfectly seasoned, not overly salted and nuanced. I love their lo Mein -- best in Baltimore. Their finish with fresh kale sets it off. I've also tried their pepper steak and bourbon chicken, both had high quality of meat which is tough to come by with the current food shortages. It's a family business and I enjoy supporting local whenever I can. I hope you do too! You won't be disappointed!

As others have mentioned, Baltimore doesn't exactly have good Chinese food (like Americanized Chinese food at least). That being said, Hao Chi is one of the best options in the city. Full disclosure, I've only ever ordered delivery from them. But every time, the food arrives hot and well packaged. Top food items include the general Tso chicken which I usually use a baseline, the crispy beef, the hot and sour soup. The spring rolls are fine, nothing special. The crab Rangoons are not great. For some reason the wrapper is so thick! And the crab seems to be initiation despite having so much crab in the city. But let's go back to those top options. The general Tso chicken is always plentiful and very tasty. It could be more spicy but it's at a level that honestly works for everyone. The crispy beef is really good! You can't have just one piece! And the sauce is delish. Finally, the hot and sour soup is both hot and sour ALL THE TIME unlike other places in the city. It comes with the mushrooms, tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. Always tasty if you like that tangy flavor. Try them for take out and don't be disappointed. I'll update as I try more items.

The orange chicken here is extremely tasty! I can tell the sauce is made from scratch. I would have loved a little more heat, so I may ask for extra chili next time. The combination fried rice wasn't bad! I think there could have been more seasoning added, but I'll definitely be ordering from this spot again. Thank you!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I've ordered from here a few times and always get the same thing, beef lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. I'll start off by saying the beef lo mein is very good. Unfortunately, this time the sweet and sour chicken was the worst it's ever been. Half of the the fried dough did not even have any chicken. The pieces that did include chicken had thin strips not even whole pieces of chicken. Pictures show the whole story. I called the restaurant to see if they could rectify the situation and was greeted with the worst customer service ever. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Ordered the combination Hunan Beef. Was very unimpressed. The egg roll was soggy and tasteless. Bleh. The Hunan "beef" was mostly...rice and veggies. Little to no beef. And what beef there was, had no flavor. And I asked for spicy. Ok...I dare you...google "Hunan Beef", look at pictures, and order it from here and you will see a vast difference. Nothing like it. As the old 80's commercials would say, "where's the beef?" I was really hoping for so much more. But this is Baltimore, and they just can't seem to come up with a real, authentic Chinese takeout spot. I mean, is this *really* 2021? Sigh.

Moved from the DC area several years ago and was always disappointed with most Chinese restaurants. So pleased to see this place just opened. Hai Chi is small, but bright and clean. A family clearly is managing it and they seem to work hard in pushing out the food. Reasonably priced dinner and lunch items. My Szechuan Chicken was fresh and hot, and the enroll was stuffed, hot, and crispy.

Definitely the best Chinese in the area. Best prices too. Opened late, which depending on the day in Fells- this may be the latest open, with convenience and best prices. (We've tried everything in Canton, surrounding Fells area) Quickly prepared, tasty Chinese take out! Very nice. Definitely beats any other Chinese in all surrounding areas, will quickly become top rated .

Recently tried this spot, as it had good reviews on Yelp. It's small, with no indoor or outdoor seating. Menu on the wall or you can look at a paper menu. They have an extensive menu and the prices are very affordable (for big portions). You order at the counter, pay, and then grab your food when it's ready. The food came out pretty quickly and it was super hot. I tried the fried rice (good), and sweet and sour chicken (huge portion, but the only thing is that the sauce was separate from the chicken, probably so it didn't get soggy; sauce was good). The portion was very generous. Took the food to go and ate outside by Broadway Market at the little tables. Definitely want to try again given there were so many options! Would definitely try if in the area.

I have been here four times since finding this place. I am not a fan of the vegetable lo mein, but I am of the shrimp. The chicken has a spicy kick to it. The vegetable egg rolls can be peppery but not to much you dont enjoy it. The spring rolls are nice but order 4 at a time.

They were so sweet and nice, great customer service and good food! They didn't have what I wanted on the menu but made it for me anyway and honestly it was the best Beijing beef I've ever eaten. They were open late too so was was happy, they will surely be my 1AM stop when I'm in the area.

Ordered delivery from this place as a late night dinner (9:30pm) after a long flight. I looked at yelp reviews and saw 4 stars on this restaurant. Ordered the take out and it was easy and the order got here really quick and it was piping hot. Then I tasted the food and it was pretty bland. I had the chicken in black bean sauce and some chicken fried rice. The chicken in black bean sauce was ok. Nothing special. The chicken fried rice was not good. The chicken pieces looked like strings of white meat (chicken I hope) but it didn't taste good and didn't taste like chicken. Not sure who rated this place 4 stars. I love Chinese food and know what good 4/5 star places taste like because I frequent them, and this place was no where close to 4/5 stars. Sorry, but it's the truth. Won't order from here again when in Baltimore.

Dry overcooked rakes not very appealing to the eye I added a few things to give us some flavor ginger lemon pepper onion powder garlic and cumin taste great now

First time ordering from Hao Chi and we were not disappointed! We tried the shrimp pad Thai, pork drunken noodles, wontons in peanut sauce and general Tsos chicken. The wontons were our favorite part!! Would definitely order those again. The pad Thai and drunken noodles are definitely a Chinese place type take instead of authentic Thai but we are still not complaining! The drunken noodles were full of flavorful pork and the pad Thai had more shrimp than any place we have ordered! The Pad Thai was also cheaper than other places around the city so that was an added bonus. General Tsos chicken was very crispy and flavorful, not too salty. We ate before we even took pics!

We flew up from Florida this afternoon to be with our daughter who lives in Canton. We ordered take out this evening from Hal chi and it was excellent. Hot &Sour soup, shrimp egg rolls, orange chicken, lo mein, Kong pao shrimp, steamed rice. Everything was fresh and properly seasoned. This is a family run business and they clearly know what they are doing. My daughter is thrilled to have them in the neighborhood, and so are we. I urge you to try this wonderful restaurant.

Had an Uber eats coupon so tried it on a whim. Next time I'd take an Uber across town to pick it up (it was that good). Do yourself a favor and order from here. Enjoy

My husband and I went past this shop the night before and saw four or five works sitting in the dining area, no customers. It was very sad looking, so I promised myself I'd give it a try soon. Just had lunch there - it's their second day of being open so I cut them some slack. There was an older guy in a black apron and red T-shirt at the street corner handing out their menus. There was one customer at a table (waiting for his take-out order) and an older Chinese woman who nodded at me politely as I entered. Two young kids - like maybe high school? - in red STEM T-shirts were at the counter and they took my order with excitement. I sat at the only 2-top to wait for my order. There were maybe eight others who came, only one other dined in, like me. As I waited, I could hear the main woman cook loudly directing the two kids at the counter. It was in Chinese, so actually, it sounded like mean yelling. At one point, the cash register malfunctioned and I could hear the young girl, as only a teenage kid can, plaintively wail, Can you fix this? The woman came to the front to fix the register and reprimand the girl (it sounded like). As I sat, I had a view of the dirty windows and beat-up trash can. Despite this place being brand-spanking new, it needs a scrub. Music playing overhead would make workers' "conversation" less jarring. My Broccoli Beef was ready shortly, cost less $7, and was pretty good! The rice was light and fluffy, the beef was tender and well sauced, and there was lots of broccoli! So, they definitely need work on customer relations. But my dish was good. I'll be back to try something else.

We're transplants from the SF Bay Area, where good Chinese-American food is abundant. We've been disappointed with Chinese food in Baltimore for coming on 3 years now, but tonight we had a yearning for chicken chow mein (lo mein here, whatever), and so took a chance on Hao Chi. Dang, no regrets at all! Good flavor, not overly oily, lots of chicken. Looking forward to trying out other favorites!

The fried dumplings and spring rolls were great. The beef pad Thai was terrible. It had a funny taste like they added tons of ketchup to it and I have ketchup! I might order from there again but will never get the pad Thai.

Ive ordered from here a few times. The chicken lo mein is pretty good-could have a little more flavor. But this past time I got the chicken with broccoli with fried rice and it was AMAZING! The egg roll that came with the dinner special was so good too! I was very happy! The service is always friendly and fast too!

This is one the best Chinese restaurants in Baltimore. I've had multiple items and find it to be consistently tasty. Sauces are fresh and flavorful. Egg roles are crispy but not overly wrapped. House special fried rice has a great mix of proteins. Hunan chicken blends vegetables with white meat, real chilies (not flakes) and a good heat. The hot and sour soup though is the best I've had in the city. Actually spicy and sour but with a good assortment of vegetables and fresh pieces of tofu that give it more umami than usual. The lunch prices are on point too if you are looking for a deal. They're finally a spot I would consider a go-to.

Hole in the wall that will surprise you. Food and services are both on point. Not much of a sitting area, but I always do take out. Best Asian food to-go in Fells.

This place is my go-to for Chinese takeout in Fells Point! The combo deals are all great, and they are super accommodating with substituting for tofu in the meat dishes! Their vegetable lo mein is also delicious. Great prices too!

In town for a quick trip, great Chinese food for a great price. Steamed dumplings and hot and sour soup were very good

We just ordered Steamed Dumplings, Pad Thai, and Chicken Yat Ka Mein. They were the worst food We have ever ordered and tasted. The meat in the Steamed Dumplings smelled and tasted like it had gone bad. The Pad Thai was only very spicy and had no other taste. The Chicken Yat Ka Mein tasted extremely salty without any other flavors. We could not imagine any food could be worse than this. Everything tasted very bad and spoiled. We threw out more than half of our food away. We were left in a bad taste in our mouths even after brushing well and a stomachache.

The food is okay- BUT they always get your order wrong. This is the third time that I ordered chow mein and they send me Lo mein. I'm done buying food here there are LOTS of other Chinese restaurants that get your order right.

Very good egg foo yung. I have been searching for a Chinese restaurant in the city that's not rat infested and the food taste good! The egg foo yung was flavorful and hot when it arrived. Keep up the good work!

Steamed dumplings and orange chicken were excellent. However, the Kung pao chicken was overly salted.

Incredibly GREAT FOOD and a very friendly staff! Don't miss out on this gem! Their orange chicken and wonton soup is absolutely DELICIOUS! So we will be making a special trip to Fells point again and this time we're bringing friends!!!

I have ordered multiple times at Hao Chi. Their service is always super friendly. The food is always made up of fresh ingredients and they fill you up. Yesterday I decided to try one of their new dish, the crispy chicken and potatoes. This is one of their best dishes. I would definitely order this dish again!!

I ordered here since China house is closed on Tuesday. The food was fine the general tso was more sweet than my liking. Would give a 2nd chance. Big disclosure that the pricing for pick up and delivery is different, for example you can't order the dinner specials and items on the online menu are all above menu prices by $1-3. Called the restaurant to confirm and they did. Not cool.

Worst food I've ever experienced in my lifetime as a professional Chef... SAVE YOUR MONEY... The food I've ever ordered was very expensive and inedible. I'm a chef myself and this food was absolutely not possible to be consumed. What a waste of $80.00 on the absolute worst and greasiest food I've ever seen. The Drunken Noodles are so spicy nobody on this planet should eat them and expect to have a healthy digestive track for the next month or two. It was insanely hot. Highly do not recommend. Please save your money.

Had the shrimp with black bean sauce and it was delicious. A mix of very fresh veggies-- mushroom, cabbage, carrot, zucchini and onion with plump, big shrimp and a great, tasty bean sauce. The owners threw in a free order of spring rolls because of the holiday. Really nice people --I'm glad they've come to the neighborhood!
