"Hapjeongok is a restaurant born of nostalgia. As they were reminiscing one day on the father-in-law’s beef bone soup and boiled beef slices, the latter suggested to his daughter-in-law that they should open a beef bone soup restaurant. The establishment stays true to the inspiration — deeply flavorful beef broth, rice rendered soft and sweet in the piping hot soup, tender slices of beef, and a generous serving of boiled offal. The restaurant’s cabbage soybean paste soup is also a must try. Only around 100 portions of soup are served daily, so go early." - Michelin Inspector

Hapjeong Ok, a Michelin-selected restaurant specializing in gomtang, is amazing. The price is only 12,000 KRW, which is unbelievable for this quality — you won’t find better at this price. The staff are very kind, but be prepared for a long wait on weekends. Highly recommended!”

I ordered beef stew/soup with more meat, 만육천특 which cost 16,000. if you can't eat offal(organs or intestine parts), this may not be for you. Maybe you can ask to exclude them and eat only muscle or flesh meat parts.

It was nice. Subtle flavors. Big bowl full of offal. Not crave-able per se but pretty darn good.

Simply sublime, this will be a so called the epiphany of beef bone soup with rice. It’s so simple and so basic that you can’t help but appreciate it. The soup is white from the simmered bones with a bit of innards, meat and rice. They give you a pot of kimchi, onion and sale & pepper to season the soup to your liking. It’s perfect for a winter day.

Nov 2023. Excellent Gamja-tang! (Pork and potato stew) Our group of 8 was seated quickly. We arrived around 12pm on a Sunday. 2 large soups fed all 8 of us. Easy to add fried rice also to soak up all the leftover sauce.

Reasonable price considering the overall price of gomtang in seoul. You should try putting many pieces of green onion. Also two kinds of kimchi was sooooooooo nice even I eat kimchi every single meal. If you are not familar with inner parts, just try yangi gomttang. This soup is definitly the best!!!

My first time having gomtang so I can't really tell if it was a good one or not. Preferred the kimchi stew more. The kimchi they provide was really good too. English menu available.

beef-based broth 곰탕 Gomtang! Clear, rich broth with generous portions of brisket, cow innards, and beef slices! Delicious!
