Craft cocktails shaken by professional mixologists in a basement

"A lot of Shoreditch bars go for some kind of theme, but Happiness Forgets is a place that just focuses on the fundamentals. The cocktails are always on point, your table service will be friendly, and the ambience is perfect for holing up with friends or a date for a few hours. It’s a gimmick-free spot that’s also popular, so book a table. If you fancy trying your luck, we’d go earlier in the evening." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"Happiness Forgets is an intimate basement bar in Hoxton Square where cocktails take priority. It never ceases to surprise us just how great a simple Sazerac here can be. Straightforward, high-quality drinks mixed with low lighting is a definite recipe for success. Outside of winning gimlets and a world-class Old Fashioned, this place gets bonus points for being open every night of the week. Just be sure to book ahead." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"Arguably the most aptly named bar when you’re trying to casually show someone that your life is 100% better since they stopped being in it. This tiny Shoreditch basement bar has excellent bartenders that can make a mean cocktail and the kind of broody lighting that would make even The Predator look like a keeper. Although they keep a few tables for walk-ins, this place is popular, so book ahead." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"Arguably the most appropriately named bar we’ve come across - okay, excluding Cheers - Happiness Forgets is a little basement spot in Shoreditch that’s a favourite amongst locals for creating high-class cocktails with none of that Mr. Big energy. Heads up, you can also book a table here if you’re worried about finding a seat during peak times." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"Same-day delivery within 3 miles of Hoxton Sqaure. Next-day delivery within 9 miles. In our former lives as People Who Shower, Happiness Forgets was one of our favourite bars to go and drink an excellent cocktail in. No, we’re not crying, you’re crying. But the good news is that this Shoreditch spot with a speakeasy feel is now doing same-day delivery of their cocktails within a three-mile radius of Hoxton Square. They’re open from Wednesday to Saturday and there are plenty of creative cocktails available. Plus ice and garnish is included." - heidi lauth beasley
