My son and I discovered Happy Cat Café completely by chance during an evening walk. We had no idea it was even there, tucked away quietly in the neighbourhood. It was getting late, so we decided to return the next morning to see what it was like in daylight. We arrived shortly after opening, and there were still plenty of tables available, giving us a nice chance to settle in before it got busier. The staff greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel comfortable. They were friendly, patient, and clearly cared about both the cats and the guests. The café itself is cozy and relaxed, with soft lighting and an atmosphere that feels peaceful despite the energy of the cats. The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the experience. As soon as you walk in, the presence of cats is unmistakable — from their playful curiosity to that familiar “cat smell.” I was very glad I had taken my allergy medication beforehand, which allowed me to enjoy the experience without issue. The cats were adorable, friendly, and clearly well cared for, each with its own personality. My son was completely enchanted by them and spent most of the time playing and petting them. While one visit would have been enough for me personally, my son loved it so much that we’ve returned together a few times since. It’s one of those unique little places that leave a smile on your face, especially if you’re an animal lover or looking for something different to do with family.

Happy Cat Café was such a fun and heartwarming experience! We enjoyed tasty cheesecake and drinks while spending time with the most adorable cats. The whole visit felt cozy and joyful.

Google
The food at this café was good. If you're not a cat person, you would question the smell. The cats are adorable, very friendly. I would replace a lot of their toys and beds just to give the place a little update and give the cats some new things to play with. I wish they had more cats though.

Came to visit on a weekend for some refreshing lemonade drinks. The drinks were cooling but tasted okay. The place is quite spacious, with a few interesting decor. I like how we have information about the cats to learn more about them. However, the space did feel a little unmaintained and dusty in some corners. *cat toys are available *it was very noisy. The staff let the children run around, scream, and chase the cats away. It was also very distracting to have such loud customers 🙄 the kids almost spilled my drink a few times too *the washroom stank 😒 of unmaintained cat litter. You have to hold your breath when you open the door to the washroom until you are out of it. Overall, not a perfect experience when I visited. You'll need lots of patience when visiting the place. I wouldn't recommend the place for people who seek to play with cats while relaxing with a drink or small snack. It is quite disappointing as the space has lots of missed potential.

Google
Love this place. Used to live right beside it. Always fun to go to, great food and staff. When family visit Montreal it's always on the list of must-do experiences! 🩵 We love all the sweet kitties!

Google
This is a big decent size cat cafe that I've seen so far. Several resident cats roaming around and they are pretty relax with strangers visiting them. Order drinks or desserts.

Google
great cat café! i liked getting to see the cats wander around. plus, the food was delicious! the yogurt i got was super yummy without being too sweet, and the homemade jam was super good! definitely recommend to cat lovers and people who want a nice meal. they speak both french and english for anyone wondering!

Rahul R.

Google
Cozy spot with a warm vibe and adorable cats roaming around. The coffee is solid, and the snacks are tasty. Perfect place to relax and unwind, though it can get a bit noisy when busy. Definitely worth a visit for cat lovers!

Yelp
This was my second visit to this cat cafe. It's a favorite of my stepsister and stepmom's! The cats here aren't for adoption and some have been there for over a decade. There are tables throughout the cafe as well as some couches and you'll see cat toys and beds spread throughout. This time, I ordered the yogurt which came with granola, honey and jam. My breakfast was yummy as well as a Diet Coke. My dad ordered a grilled cheese panini with salad and vinaigrette which was also good, and my step mom ordered La Pèle-méle, a curry seasoned cauliflower dish with chickpeas vegetables and pecans which was the best in my opinion. My step sister ordered the banana pudding which she loves. Personally, I think the food is a little expensive for the quality, but my family and I are happy to come in and support this longstanding business that cares for their kitties. There's a little shop inside with cat toys, accessories and food, so you can pick up anything you might need for your furry friend at home. The cats are very well acclimated to humans and will sometimes jump onto tables nearby you. They're friendly but most are very calm. Note that one of the rules is to not disturb any that are sleeping. Definitely stop by, give out some pets, and sign their visitor book at the front!

Yelp
Obsessed with this cat cafe and the cats who reside here. My group and I had the pleasure of spending time with Gustave, a sweet baby who demanded pets and laid on our table. What I love about this cafe (aside from everything) is that there's no entrance fee. Instead, you order from the menu. I got a coffee, other people in my group got food - it was so fun. The kitties are sweet and you need to follow the rules: don't wake them up and respect their boundaries! Such a cute experience and I would highly recommend.

Yelp
The cats? Fluffy. The food? Could be better. Will I still come back to sit with the cats? Of course.

K S.

Yelp
Welcoming and cat-forward, comfortable seating options ranging from classic tables to oversized plush chairs & sofas, banquettes. Creative grilled cheese, salad & smoothie options. Friendly and bilingual staff!
google avatar

JoAnn Y.

Yelp
Such a great experience. The cats are free to wander about the cafe and are residents there. They are not for adoption and live there. I had the Cat Lady sandwich and the specialty pain. Both were distinctly Canadian Montreal. One cat jumped on our table, touched his paw to our dessert, and proceeded to lick its paw. If you're OK with this, you'll love it here. Homey and cat-first atmosphere.

Yelp
We had a friendly, helpful staff member who explained the history of the café to us which was nice. Our group just ordered drinks, so I can't speak towards the food. The Sheldon (banana chocolate) smoothie was good. This is a very casual place that's good for small groups and solo people. The cats were mostly asleep or far enough away where you couldn't touch them. They treat the animals very well. I thought there'd be more cat-action, but it's really a café that cats exist in rather than get much interaction with. There was a very sweet fluffy one at the cash register that liked pats. I've never been to a cat café, so can't compare it to others, but the overwhelming smell when you walk in (especially in the bathroom) was really unpleasant. I got used to it after a while, but some of my friends didn't. Paying at the end was a bit slow and confusing, but not enough to stop me from going another time.

Yelp
This was a must see stop in Montreal! Located in a homey, fun neighborhood, the Cafe Chat L'Heureux brings you delicious food and feline fun. We got the grilled cheese sandwiches, which were some of the best we've had ever, and got to hang out with kitties! The cats are calm, friendly, and very fluffy! One even joined us at our table for a while!
google avatar

Yelp
Kind of a silly place but it was cute. They definitely do have cats on the premises, and it is designed very well for them. Didn't really get much cat-attention but that's no surprise. We just had a couple of drinks, rested our feet, and looked at cats ignoring us.

Yelp
Food was great the cats and the waiters were great! I LOVED THE CATS. It was a nice calm cafe environment perfect for studying while getting some kitty love!!

Diana L.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. I ordered a 7up drink that was suppose to come with a shot of strawberry syrup. Did not taste any of it. The hot chocolate was rejected by my 6 year old. He said it was bitter tasting. Also ordered the cat lady. It was decent. However there were alot of cats out and about which was the purpose of the visit. I think they may have been napping. It was around 2:30

Kolton M.

Yelp
Very excited to have their second location just blocks away from me! I will be spending my afternoons here, especially as the winter approaches. My landlord doesn't allow pets and I am huge cat person. I will say that in the first few days of the new location opening I witnessed too many people and children not respecting the posted rules. Running, shouting, waking up various cats and not giving them their space. I know it just opened and the staff may be new, but I think it is a very important part of the experience for them to enforce these rules. -Parents please make sure your kids are respecting the boundaries of the animals. Remember, this is their home and we are guests. -Staff please don't hesitate to remind patrons of the rules. I know sometimes it can feel scary to intervene, but the more you do it the easier it will feel to approach people.

Yelp
This is a cute little cat café! The staff was friendly and welcoming. This is the first one I've seen where they cook and serve food instead of just offering snacks and canned/bottled drinks. We tried a couple of their grilled cheese sandwiches and they were great! I definitely recommend this place if you love cats and find yourself in Montréal

Yelp
So much better than the movie "Cats"

Yelp
Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Before entering the building, the smell of cat urine was so strong and even moreso inside where people were eating and drinking. I have two cats myself, so I'm no stranger to the usual pet smells, but it was so overwhelming on a 30+ degree day since they also didn't appear to have turned on the AC. My sister felt sick from the combination of heat and smells, so we ended up leaving without trying the food. The cats we did see were super cute though! :)

Tara Lee G.

Yelp
My son and I have found a new cafe to add to our FAVORITES! Atmosphere is so calming. The owner, Anne-Marie Leishman, is such a joy to chat with. Her cats and kittens are ADORABLE. The food was DELICIOUS. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. DEFINITELY recommend

Yelp
I was a little unsure about going into this location given the presence of all the animals, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was both very quaint and very clean. There were probably 10 or so cats anywhere in the store and it did not feel too cluttered there's enough space for everybody to get their own table, the workers were very friendly, but they did take a little while to take my table's order. The order also took around 20 minutes to come out. This was not too much of a problem as we enjoyed seeing the cats play while trotting around and enjoying the atmosphere. I ordered a lemonade and the chaud pain perdu, and both were excellent. The lemonade was sweet but not overpowered by sugar. The dessert was spongy, flavorful, and a good filling quantity. I would highly recommend this place for a cute cafe and cat experience.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, mostly to see the cats and enjoy their drinks. The drinks I've had have always been good. One of the people I was with had a grilled cheese and said that was very good as well. And the cats seem happy and well cared for so if you're interested in cats, this is a place worth visiting.
google avatar

Igor K.

Yelp
Very cozy atmosphere. The cats look happy and well cared for. Some are friendly some are polite. As in they politely avoid any pets you might try to give by partially turning the part below your hand to liquid and just gently moving aside. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The space is big enough that it doesn't feel cramped. If you understand how cats are this is the place. Also the food is quite good

Yelp
There's no other cafe in all of Montreal that brings me greater joy than Cafe Chat l'Heureux! I bring all of my friends who are visiting from outside of Montreal here because of the ambiance. There are many cats who call this cafe their home, and there is also food for purchase. During the pandemic, they scan your COVID vaccination passport (as of September 2021) and you have to wash your hands immediately afterwards in the washroom. Service is sweet and you can tell that they really love their cats and the work they do. The cats also really love the owner (who can be seen with Mousse on his shoulder all the time!) and they also seem not to mind socializing with their cafe visitors which is great. It seems the cafe itself has also grown in size, as they are now occupying a second room and a cat store right beside it! I've only ever had drinks here and the marshmallows shaped like paws so I can't speak too much about the food. The drinks were very cute and had cat puns (catpuccino for example). They are great pick me ups for an afternoon. During the 2021 federal election, they have campaign posters of their cats that look just like the actual human posters. It's a hoot!

Yelp
I love cats and was so happy to find a cat cafe near my Airbnb. There were about 9 cats when I went shortly after the cafe opened. The food was good and the service was great too. There was plenty of space for the cats to run around and guests to find tables to eat. Highly recommend this place if you like cats.

Yelp
nothing totally remarkable in my mind but a very fun experience nonetheless. the cats were pretty sleepy when we went, but they are adorable and fun to interact with when they come around. the food was tasty - standard breakfast / brunch fare. my boyfriend and i both had the cat lady (i think?) and liked it. the lattes and teas are also good. food is not the star of the show, of course, but it was solid. the staff are friendly and efficient.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to be hehhe been here twice since I've been here in Montreal traveling!!!!! I LOVE it here. Just have some tea/coffee, dessert or some food while playing with the kitties!!!!!
google avatar

Joyce A.

Yelp
This place is perfect for cat lovers. This place is cozy and welcoming. Several cats to play with. Although most of the cats were sleeping and the owner doesn't want to disturb them. The food was okay. I ordered grilled cheese and homemade lemonade. Though, I wouldn't come back here again since I just discovered after I left that I was allergic to cats. I had teary eyes and non-stop sneezing. I don't blame the café though. The cats were so adorable!
google avatar

Yelp
Can we just take a moment and thank these fine cats for being so friendly? Cafe Chat is a very relaxed and tasty Cat Cafe. The cats are super fluffy. Like, s.u.p.e.r. fluffy. The most note-able is Milady who you'll find sleeping on the checkout counter. Fun fact: unlike most cats, She loves having her belly rubbed. You come in to a mud room and take off your shoe an they have slippers inside if you're one of those people who are weird about feet.. Food was good. Staff was super friendly and helpful. There are a lot of cats here. Come check it out you will fall in love just like I did

Yelp
As a fellow cat lover, I was absolutely thrilled to come across this café while exploring. The space is very cute and bright with lots of sunlight. The cats were all friendly! We only stopped in for light refreshments before dinner but the latte my boyfriend ordered and the fresh lemonade I ordered were delicious and refreshing. We were more than happy to know our purchases were going to the upkeep and care of the cats. We will definitely be back next time we visit Montreal!

Yelp
We visited this lovely Cat Cafe during our trip to Montreal. I enjoyed watching and playing with these lovely cats, they are very friendly and adorable. I highly recommend this spot if you're a cat lover :)

Yelp
Best part about my trip to Montreal Love that they are supporting such a great cause! Thank you!

Yelp
ATMOSPHERE: Although a little bit rundown, the interior is really cute. It has a vintage feel to it all while being surrounded by cat furniture and accessories. FOOD: Honestly, the food was pretty good! I came here for lunch and got a goat cheese sandwich with fig sauce (I forgot what the plate was called) but it was quite tasty. It also came with a light salad. It's a nice little relaxing place to come by if you wanna hang with some cats and have a light meal. PRICE: Although it's a tad bit overpriced, it's still affordable. And besides, you're coming here for cats and they have to be financed somehow so the prices don't really come as a shock to me. SERVICE: The service here was pretty good. They explained to us about the different cats here and their personalities, feels like they were really connected to every feline which was nice.
google avatar

Shakira H.

Yelp
I expected a feline frenzy in here, but a lot of the cats were comatose. You're not allowed to prod them awake and rightly so - how would you appreciate being roused that way? But without any of the kitty cat interaction this place loses its novelty pretty quickly. The place is furnished quaintly with an assortment of seating including a long couch or dining chairs situated near a bright window and makeshift fireplace. The menu seems slightly overpriced but you're obviously paying for the experience. I got tea which came in a cat-themed teapot. While waiting for the tea to cool, we got a chance to play with one of the cats who decided to awake from his slumber. They had some toys to engage the cats. The fishing rod with catnip was a general crowd pleaser because it shows you how stealth cats can be. Overall, it was a wonderful place to spend an hour as long as you have a few cool cats to party with.

Mischa H.

Yelp
We had a lovely dessert with Sheldon at our table. Sheldon was friendly and enjoyed luxurious pets and rubs. He finally got up and left when we wouldn't let him eat our banana pudding. Sorry Sheldon that pudding was delicious I wasn't about to share. Sheldon retired to a cat walk where he aggressively licked his butt. The cheesecake was also wonderful. Service was agreeable and the other customers were fun to chat with about Sheldon. The only reason we knocked a star off is that the whole place did smell of litter box.

Yelp
A bunch of friends decided to go there on a Saturday afternoon to grab a coffee/bite and plays some games we brought, while seeing/petting cats. The good: We counted at least 8 cats there. A good healthy menu with vegans plates also available. Clean place. Warm place (which is important as we have to remove our boots/shoes before we come in). Our waitress was friendly. Cats roam around the tables, when not sleeping. We waited for a few minutes before we got a table but really not long. The bad: Bathroom small. Waiting room is also small. Waiting room also smell. Waiting room has boots lying everywhere which makes it very difficult to walk around, and it is cold. Food is pricey. Coffees are small. Some waitresses did not feel as friendly. The cats are just that, and they ignore you, or sleep. If the place is more quiet, then they will be more active. It is a cute little cafe where you can go and live an experience. Food is great but pricey. But they really need to upgrade the waiting room.
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
I freakin' love cats and have always wanted to visit the cat cafe. I visited this one because I was waiting for a friend nearby and thought I'd go spend some time with the kitties. The first thing I'll say is that there is no AC. But after 5-10mins, you get used to the temperature. Besides, the cats are a good distraction! There were around 10 cats but I think it was nap time when I visited, as most of them were asleep. There was a sweet, fluffy black cat that likes to hang out in the women's bathroom lol and a cute kitten sleeping in a giant mug! The lemonade I ordered to cool off was bland and overpriced. I only spent around 20 mins here so I'll have to go back and give these cats a proper visit :)
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
I'm a passionate advocate for cats in the dog vs. cat debate and somehow had never been to a Cat Cafe so I was super excited when we happened across this one. It was a lovely experience overall. My boyfriend got a basic coffee and I had a chai latte (which came with the most adorable little cinnamon paw prints!) but it was quite pricey. There were probably 5-7 cats roaming around and they were very friendly. Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing and smiling because the decor was so ridiculous. There were HUGE portraits of the cats on the walls and they had such adorable names (i.e. Mousse or Sheldon). Definitely a worthwhile experience but unless I was seriously deprived of cat company or was showing a friend around the city, I wouldn't go back for the food and drink.

Yelp
SO BLOWN AWAY. FIVE STARS EASILY (and i DONT give five stars often)! I felt like I was in heaven for a couple of hours. Ottawa's new cat café was my first experience at a cat café, but this established café met and exceeded my expectations! I went after dinner, so probably around 7pm and stayed for a couple of hours. Cats: there were almost 10 cats, and most of them were active! There was about half kitties (smaller cats) and half full-size cats. My favourite was Luna, she has a grey coat and green eyes, and her fur is SO SOFT!!! They all don't mind being touched; some will seem annoyed, but usually won't leave. There are little "treat stations" where the cats have to get treats out of cups, which is fun to watch. They fed the cats around 8pm which was so amusing to watch since they all became active, ran out, and settled down to a food bowl. One really cute part was when a male server put a cat on an electric skateboard, and the cat sat on it while he moved the skateboard with the remote back and forth! Then he would give the cat a high five and a treat. It was adorable, plus he put a mini tie collar on the cat. Everyone was taking pictures and aww-ing. Food/drink: I had a black indian tea, and the teapot top had a cat's head which was cute! I had to ask for cream though. My friends got a cheesecake and pudding, and both were actually really well done, although I preferred the pudding. The chai latte has two cat paws shaped out of cocoa powder! I saw others getting savoury food too; the entire place was pretty packed the entire evening I was there, so I guess their food is well received! Service: they are friendly, but somewhat slow as there are so many clients, so you may have to flag one down to order or to pay. However, you can tell they really care for the cats, and the cats' coats are all in great condition. The male server seemed to be the one to teach them tricks, and you could tell he loved cats. Overall: exceeded my expectations, and will be back for sure! I will probably also try the other cat café in Montreal too, and hopefully the Toronto one next time as well!

Yelp
Loved it! We'd already had lunch so we got a brownie dessert and bread pudding - yum. Fresh lemonade wasn't quite sweet enough but that was fine because there were packets of sugar so we could adjust to our taste. The cats were wonderful and we took a lot of photos. The two kittens mentioned in a previous review are half grown now and very friendly.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
I will say that I was skeptical of the idea of a cat cafe, but Chat l'Heureux did a really nice job. The cafe is very clean and was relatively empty when we were there. There were probably 5 cats wandering around, they were all quite friendly. The cafe has a cool series of platforms and connecting walkways for the cats to traverse. The staff was very helpful, and the smoothies were very good. If you want to hang out with a bunch of cats and get a smoothie, this place is perfect.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Tucked away in Mont Royal, this kitty cafe is spacious and full of cuteness! I especially love the one cat on the skateboard - I believe her name was Milady(?) The staff were very friendly to the patrons and made the visit all the more enjoyable. I would suggest coming in to the cafe earlier during the day as they seemed really tired by the time we showed up (it was about 4 or so).
google avatar

Rach P.

Yelp
Well it's a cat cafe, so what's not to love! There were about 6-8 cats around and two kitten. Most of them were lounging and sleeping and it was very adorable. We didn't try any food but had the lychee grapefruit spritzers and they were okay, a little too sweet for our taste.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Came for the cats and was not disappointed! Staff were absent some of the time but it did not affect us as we got our teas quickly and yhe cats kept us busy the rest of the time. No purchase minimum and the cats were quite friendly.
google avatar

Toby F.

Yelp
I had a purr-fect time. I give this place 5 Stars due to the experience. The cafe was inhabited by friendly felines that joined me for lunch. The menu is limited. It consisted mainly of grilled cheese sandwiches and salads. I had the Mexi-Chat and a Chai Latte. Everything was tasty.

Jeff H.

Yelp
What a charming and interesting cafe! Worth a visit just on the originality and pleasant experience of dining in a cafe while you're entertained by 8-10 cats roaming around. The place could use a little sprucing up. Service was ok. I was a little nervous since it's only vegetarian foods but the grilled cheese was great.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
This is a must and a hidden gem if you're ever in Montreal! Cat cafes are far and few between in North America, especially ones you can walk into without a reservation. The cats are very well treated and there's a variety of couches, chairs, tables, furniture, cat toys available for cats and customers alike. Yes, the food is a bit pricey but their homemade hot chocolate ($4.75) and banana pudding ($6) are not to be missed!!
google avatar

Lesley L.

Yelp
Kitty cafe! I took allergy meds just to come here - but who needs sinuses when you're surrounded by fluffy kitty cats? Came here after a heavy breakfast, so I can only comment on the drink I bought here as no food was ordered. Got the chocolate banana smoothie, which wasn't bad. I think it was chocolate syrup blended together with a banana and possibly some ice. Not much to say on that beverage. But oh, the kitties! In the cafe are several bistro tables typically seating tables of 2, but can be pushed together for larger groups. There are a couple of homey sofas and armchairs with cushions and nearby living room tables close by to rest your food or drinks. Worried about the cat hairs or cats getting into your edibles? This place was pleasantly free of cat smells, and the shop keep (cat keep) train cats to stay off of tables and away from the food & drinks. The one and only time that I saw a cat on a table was when a couple of guests were leaving and the empty smoothie glasses were not yet picked up. Even then, it was only a brand-new black & white kitten, 6-8 weeks old and had only been at the cafe for 7 days that dared to (cutely) drink from the straw before being promptly being gently shooed away by staff. Though there's a list of house rules on the entrance door which includes relinquishing liabilities should you be bitten or scratched by a cat, all the cats seemed very docile, so I doubt this is of any real concern. There was a small family on the day I went which included a delighted 2-ish year old, who squealed "Les chats!" every time a new cat passed by and promptly took chase - and even then, some of the cats would stop to allow themselves to be petted or at worst, would keep on walking. Wonder if this is cruel to the cats? As part of the house rules, guests are asked not to touch the cats while they are eating or sleeping. There's also a partitioned area in the back of the room with empty boxes and kitty homes so if the cats feel the need for a bit of alone time, they are free to run to the back. The partition wall has clear Plexiglas at the bottom halves, so you can still watch the cats if you'd like to do so. The walls are lined with empty shelves so they are free to jump, wander, and display their general cat-like behaviour. A glass display case of cat-shaped porcelain goods like teapots can be seen, and a small handful of cat toys and accessories can be purchased at the cash register as a memento of your visit. I picked up a coin purse shaped and printed like a cat as a souvenir. The 12 or so cats available are adopted from an animal shelter, encouraging guests to do the same. Are there any sayings about putting cats in your bag? Hmm, maybe there should be one...

Yelp
Love this cozy little corner! The sofa seats are the best, and the kittens are so cute

Yelp
Lots of cute and friendly cats roaming around including some kittens (not super tiny, but older kittens maybe a few months old). We went early in the day not too long after they opened (maybe about 11:30) and it wasn't too busy yet. We had cappuccinos which were average. We did not eat anything. Note that you have to take off your shoes, so make sure you are wearing socks. They have some shared slippers or you can bring your own. If you have allergies or a sensitive nose you will notice mild cat smells. Take your allergy pills BEFORE you visit. I have mild allergies and got just a little stuffed up. Not bad at all though as they keep it very clean! The cats appear to be brushed regularly and I did not see any fur accumulation on the furniture. I was very impressed with the cleanliness. Some other reviewers have complained about the pricing, but I found it to be fair especially considering that there is no cover charge. Remember that they have to take care of the cats and that really adds up. They have all the costs of a traditional cafe then add in vet visits, vaccinations, food, litter, treats, toys, beds. This place is great! Definitely worth a visit to spend an hour and grab coffee and smoothies.

Yelp
I would go for a coffee but not for the food as it was over priced and I left feeling unsatisfied but, it's a fun concept and I would go back. We did like the puréed veggie soup, not the grilled cheese of the day (guacamole, red onion and tomato) it was oozing cheese but felt like they used margarine to grill it. Just wasn't worth $45 for two vegetarian sandwiches and soup.

Yelp
This neat cat café is a good place to meet with friends or do a little bit of work. The menu is vegetarian but there are some good finds there too. The onion soup is awesome and I love the lemonade. The most important reason, if you're a cat lover you will love it!

Yelp
Cool experience that I really wish we had in Toronto! I came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with my family. The place was packed full and there were two other groups ahead of us waiting to be seated, so we had to wait about 15 or so minutes. My first impression of the place is that it is quite small and also pretty cramped. Tables are placed pretty close together and there is not that much room to walk around, unfortunately. I wish there was more space for us to actually play with the cats. All of the food we ordered was delicious. I had the Cat Lady, which is a gourmet sandwich with fig jam, honey, goat cheese, cheddar, and caramelized onions. It sounds so simple, but it was so tasty, and the perfect blend of sweet and salty flavours. It also came with a very refreshing and fresh tasting salad on the side. We also ordered La Jardiniere, which was basically fresh seasonal vegetables on a piece of crispy fried dough, and Tartine du Jardin, which was another sandwich loaded with lots of ricotta, vegetables, grilled nuts, and peaches. Although I didn't try either of the other items we ordered, the general consensus among my family was that the food was very fresh, very delicious, and very filling. Everything on their menu is vegetarian, and they also have some vegan and gluten free options too! They own 7 cats, and on the day I went I managed to see 6 of them. The cat part is kind of hit or miss, because it's kind of luck of the draw depending on when you go. There were three cats awake when we first arrived, so we got a chance to play with them a little while we were waiting for our seats. However, later on they all fell asleep, so they weren't as lively and didn't walk around as much as I expected. It was a little disappointing for me, but what can you do. It is still a cool concept though and I enjoyed my experience. The cafe is very bright and clean on the inside, so it's really nice to be in there. I read some reviews about odours, but I didn't smell anything unpleasant at all. Everything on their menu is pretty pricey - lunch for three ended up being about $60! Two of us ordered hot drinks (hot chocolate and chai latte), and while they were both good, they were $4+ dollars each. That being said, if you are a cat lover like I am, this is definitely something neat to check out! If you are lucky you might encounter the cats when they are actually awake.
