Stopped by on a Thursday night and had a few drinks with friends on the patio area. The fire pits were great and lawn chairs made for a chill evening. The game area was super cool and I would go back. The music was a bit all over the place as classic feel good to house music to rap. Whoever the DJ was on this specific night felt like they had something against rap and changed from chill feel good to house and would play half a song and then skip to the next.

Google
Happy Does brings Happy Days! A delightful, bright, fun game environment reminiscent of a backyard sports party in the best of ways! A bright and cheery staff paired with an equally as bright and colorful venue space with a plethora of drink options - what more could they possibly do to make one happier?

Cold drinks, dog friendly, sports, cornhole, beer buckets. All right in the heart of the city. Cool spot for sure. Must visit if you are visiting!

Really unique bar in downtown San Diego, lots of games, and tables. The huge bar top makes it easy to get drinks even if it is packed.

Happy Does Bar in San Diego is a fantastic place to go if you're looking for a fun night out. It's a karaoke bar, so if you love singing or watching others sing, this is the spot for you. The atmosphere is lively and the staff is friendly, making it a welcoming environment for anyone who walks through the doors. The bar offers a wide range of drinks, including beer, cocktails, and wine, and the prices are very reasonable. They also have a menu with tasty bar food, such as burgers and wings, that are perfect for snacking on while enjoying the music. The karaoke selection at Happy Does Bar is extensive, so you'll have no trouble finding a song you love. The sound system is excellent and the song lyrics are displayed on large screens, making it easy for everyone to sing along. Overall, if you're looking for a fun, laid-back karaoke bar in San Diego, Happy Does Bar should be at the top of your list. With its welcoming atmosphere, great drink selection, and fantastic karaoke, it's the perfect spot to let loose and have a great time.

Google
All around amazing! There was a live DJ with indoor/outdoor seating, games and great food and drink options. Our food took nearly an hour to arrive to the table due to a mix up and that soured the night for a split moment but...it's extremely hard to be unhappy at Happy Does. I highly recommend stopping by.

Google
I was in town for a conference and hosted an evening event here for about 150 - 200 people. We bought out the game side of the restaurant and my attendees had a blast. They had plenty of space and there were lots of games options for them to engage in if they chose to do so. Lots of seating for people to gather and chat. The food was good as were the drinks. They were very easy to work with when planning our event and we had a dedicated person onsite the day of the event who continually checked in to make sure that we had everything we needed. I would definitely use this venue again to host an event.

Google
LOVED Happy Does!! Such a fun atmosphere with music, games and really good food. We went in the early evening and stayed until late at night and never got bored or satiated. We had great services, experienced great karaoke singers, and yummy margaritas. Definitely recommend for day OR night!

Yelp
From the many places that I've been to the ones that have been rude and treated people rude for a club restaurants location is open just a few days a week that sounds very strange for the location. Greeted st the front by the workers the club Happy Does it looks more like a playground for the customer service is not the best . Of the location n was the location for the Disks Last Resort that it was more welcoming to the public drinks that were much better . Many times that I've been the client vs seen the food they served when you ask the workers if they serve food for customers for the outside area looks of s kids playground with kids games. With the Gaslamp it has changed in many ways with the change in restaurants and the night clubs that with the Gaslamp and the sound of music that packes the clubs and the bars you could see many couples that were enjoying themselves.. the restaurant bar location cated near Mickey's and the rocking Baja to have a great bar you need to change the look. As a Yelp Elite the many clubs that I've been to there have been things that reach the customers to have great musicians the atmosphere that creates the best energy.

Yelp
What a fun new bar - we stumbled upon this spot before a concert at petco. They had pickle ball, shuffle board, corn hole, jenga, fire pits and more. A ton of outdoor seating which is great on a sunny day. We grabbed some fun drinks and got the chicken tenders and fries - they were pretty good for bar food.

Yelp
Alcohol and games? You got yourself an adult playground! Discovered this place after a friend had recommended. They not only have happy hour but also a bunch of games, ranging from pickle ball, corn hole, foosball, connect four, and darts. For the pickle ball and corn hole you need to give them your ID to get the paddles/bean bags. They also have an outdoor space with individual fireplaces for a more intimate set up. Definitely became more busy on a weekend night but the space is huge and can accommodate a lot of people. For drinks, they have a wide range of beer options and cocktail options, especially on their happy hour menu. Their espresso martini was very sweet. While the coffee flavors could have been stronger, they did not skimp on the alcohol! Staff were nice and I really liked their energetic and friendly security guard/bouncer.

Yelp
This bar is large and has so much to offer. There were so many activities and they have a really good space! This appeared to me to be a tourist/transplant spot which is cool but was a certain demographic. I really enjoyed the karaoke and how it was such a large space. I can see myself coming back for a casual day drink.

Yelp
A great place for a night out with friends! They have plenty of drinks and holiday shots! Staff is super fun and friendly. They have games to play with a group, as well as Karaoke! There is both indoor and outdoor seating and just great vibes overall!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is fun if you want to listen to other people sing. Seems like they kept letting the same people sing over and over and not letting anyone new sing. Kinda a bummer if you are new and wanting to to sing Karaoke. Bar food was good. Plenty of staff walking around that kept trying to clean up our drinks before we were finished.

Yelp
Gaslamp doesn't excite me, but I was in the area after a Padres game and the group I was with wanted to go out for a little bit. It was a fun vibe, and there was karaoke. Truly a karaoke vibe, which was fun to be around. The service was slow, as it was super busy. The bartender was in a bit of a spicy mood, which made the customer service seem a little below average.

Yelp
Today we decided to hangout at The Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego, CA. We stopped at Happy Does Bar for appetizer and drinks. We tried the spicy chicken tenders with Nashville sauce and really enjoyed. We ordered a Michelada and Pacifico beers. The Michelada was okay 3/5. The service was excellent and really enjoyed the atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor has pinball machines and large screen TV's to watch sport games. The outdoor seating has a ton of fun games for adults to play with such as; Cornhole boards, pickleball, Jenga etc., etc. The restrooms were very clean and definitely want to come back to this bar to hangout. Happy Yelping!

Yelp
Cute bar with lots of activities to do. They have spots like pickle ball, basket ball, and air hockey

Yelp
Recently heard about this spot from a friend who wanted to checkout their indoor pickleball court. It's a really cool spacious bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside they have a bunch of games to play and you would need to give them your id if you want to rent any of the equipment (ping pong paddles/balls, pickleball paddles, etc). It's all first come, first serve for the games. The pickleball court was limited to 30 min per group. Downside was that they only allowed each group to play singles for pickleball and it was a little chaotic to try to save a spot in line since they didn't have a reservation system. You also need to have everyone in your group sign their waiver prior to playing pickleball. Also don't expect their court to be a standard sized pickleball court, it was definitely smaller that the norm (which is fine, because less running lol). Overall, I think this would be a fun spot to go to with a group of friends for a night out. They definitely provide a lot of activities to do along with a full menu of drinks/food. Didn't get to try their food during this visit, but will have to go back again sometime!

Yelp
We came during game 4 Padres vs Dodgers and we expected the place to be busy but there was a server that was extremely rude to us. I asked her if I could order food with her but she mentioned that it wasn't her section. She said she'll grab our server for us. We waited for 15 minutes so I asked a different worker and he brought us the same server and she looked so annoyed that I asked again. She said she was going to bring the correct server but she could've said it nicer. We continued to wait and our actual server came. She was really nice but that first server was just so unpleasant.

Yelp
First time mid afternoon visiting downtown San Diego and I honestly had a great time at this place. Its open and has the indoor/outdoor option. Two bars, indoor/outdoor game areas and dancing. I was ecstatic with the amount of TVs and interactive social games that you can enjoy. Great atmosphere, great service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend you try this place. I especially recommend you visiting to watch multiple sports events while hanging out with friends. Definitely bringing a bigger group to enjoy this place again. I wish someone would've told me about how chilly it gets in San Diego. 4/5 Stars only because it was my first time & I really enjoyed it.

Yelp
I LOVE this place!! Such a chill spot to hang with a group of friends, grab some tasty libations, play games, and dance the night away! Our group stopped in here after hitting up Barleymash. It was our 2nd stop of the night, and it was crackin'!! DJ Bugz @djbugzsd was spinning that night, and he had it going on! There are 2 bars from what I saw, corn hole games, the giant Connect 4, and a bunch of other fun things to do. The bartenders were cool af and the drinks are soooo good!! I loved the drinks I had, and I'm eager to try more! I also loved the names of the drinks. They're super cute! They also have a Happy Hour on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 pm. If you're looking for a casual ambiance with a chill vibe, Happy Does will do it for you. It's right in the middle of the wonderful Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, so you won't miss a beat! Idk what time they start checking IDs at the entrance, but we arrived close to 10 pm, so have them ready for security. Have fun and be safe! =)

Yelp
Great place for family fun...kids welcome till 7p...lots of games & friendly service makes you feel like you're part of their family! Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
My favorite bar in downtown San Diego for sure! The ambiance is just too cute and aesthetic. There's an activity here for everyone, and best part yet, it's free! Karaoke, pickleball, ping pong, giant jenga and connect 4, darts, fooseball and more! Drinks are pretty good too. My group shared the margarita tower. Overall great vibes for a night out!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has so much potential but sadly fell a little under my expectations. I visited this place on a weeknight as I wanted to go to a bar that had activities for my group to do. The good thing was that all the activities/games here are free which is not the norm at other places in SD. My friends and I played a game of pickle ball (or 4) and then we played a game of arcade basketball which was free!!! You just have to spam press the buttons like we did. The interior is really beautiful as there's so many lights and there's an indoor/outdoor bar + area. I can see this place getting really crowded on a weekend though so not sure if I would stop by as waiting for a game can take a while. Drinks were lackluster at best. All the drinks were pretty much premade. The outside bar had an espresso martini machine where it just shoots out premixed drink which was meh. And then my group got a margarita tower which was really taxing for it to taste like your average grocery store margarita mix BUT it did come with a free side of fries which were super yummy for the drunchies. All in all, I'd probably come back after pregaming at another bar close by and then stopping here after ti play some games on a weeknight.

Yelp
We came by during a Padres game and Happy Does quickly reminded me of my college days. The ambiance and atmosphere was giving frat house. Lol The space is pretty large, but so crowded. It's hard to find a table so be prepared to stand, especially if you're coming in a big group. They have a ton of games to play but there weren't any regulations. We watched the same group play the shuffleboard and beer pong tables for 30 minutes. No one else really got a chance to play. It was also unclear how to get the table games like Janga. They had a booth that looked like a check out counter with signs on requesting games but there wasn't anyone working the counter. The bartenders were nice and friendly though. They have a couple of drink specials and they were pretty cheap. Definitely made for a younger, rowdy crowd.

Yelp
Stopped by after Padres game. Cool outdoor seating. Games - pickle ball jenga, corn hole. Fun spot. Friendly staff.

Yelp
Can I give 10 stars? What can I say about this place 1. Dog friendly!! 2. Great food. (Loaded fries... get in my belly) 3. Great drinks 4. Great happy hour 5. Great staff. Our waitress was amazing. So friendly. Loved my dog. Really did an extra great job 6. Games!!! 8. Great location. Great for pregaming a baseball game or SunDay FunDay 9. Outdoor heaters 10. Did I mention dog friendly? I would recommend you check it out. Especially once the extension opens.

Yelp
Honestly, this place is great. We stumbled upon it, and it was so much fun. There are so many activities to participate in or you can just hang out and have fun. Despite it being very busy when we went, we didn't have to wait long to get drinks at the bar. I'm from out of town, and wish there was a place like this near my hometown.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a brunch event and we had a blast. The drinks were amazing. The ladies did mimosas but I stuck with my ole faithfuls. We eventually got around to playing some of the games in the outdoor section and it just added to the vibe. The french toast sticks are a must during brunch. The are the right level of crunch and so flavorful. The corn dog and chicken tenders were okay, but the tenders with some syrup definitely changed the game. One of my favorite places to go, so you need to check it out.

Yelp
Drinks are not watered down. I'm happy right now . The corn dogs are pretty good too. As a lover I have to say I'm impressed. Pets I mean. Love dogs and the corn dogs were good to be clear !

Yelp
Such a cool bar, I've never experienced anything like it. We happened to stumble across this bar on the 1st Thursday of the month, which is live band karaoke! That was an amazing, loud and fun experience. The other things they had were foosball, corn hole, big beerpong, pickleball (only 2 players at a time) a ping pong table, basketball arcade game, other arcade games, a photo booth, and a bunch of big Jenga & Connect 4. I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but that was enough to keep us super entertained throughout the night!
google avatar

Diana F.

Yelp
We came here two nights while in San Diego. The first night was a Friday and great. The place was packed! We couldn't order food due to how late it was but we got drinks. The best part about this place was the space. We had a group of like 25 people and we could all hang out and congregate here. This was amazing. There was a line but that's to be expected. One of the bartenders was rude and not personal able which is why a star was knocked off. Additionally the second evening we went here -- a Sunday, it closed earlier and had little to no space for a party of 5 -- nor was the bigger area open. This was a disappointment but we peaked at the menu before deciding to go else where this evening.

Yelp
This is such a fantastic find! My friends and I stumbled upon this place and came in with a massive group of 20 before a game. There's such a fun vibe and atmosphere here- we had the espresso martinis, a few of the margarita towers, some of the seltzers, shots etc We ordered all of the food items and everyone was jealous of my massive salad!!! It's worth $25 Seriously delicious, I had it with a burger patty (gluten free) and skipped the cheese for it to be (dairy free) it comes with crispy chicken tenders (I wish!) The fries were good; everyone liked their food and we had the best time. You can sit inside and there's music, a ton of photo ops, a bar or outside it's like someone's back yard. We never made it to the other side with games but we heard it was a blast from people playing pickle ball Everyone that works here is in a great mood, there's bubbles going and great decor. Highly recommend People were there with kids, dogs and we all got a long just fine. Come for a party, birthday, celebration, on a date, with a group, and enjoy yourself! Worth all the stars, please open one up in LA and in OC!!!

Yelp
My experience at this establishment was incredibly frustrating. To open a tab at the bar the bartender asked to hold onto my ID and my debit card. Unfortunately, I left without closing my tab. Happy Does isn't opened Monday-Thursday so I wasn't able to retrieve any of my items. When they did reopen the following Friday evening they didn't answer any of my calls or bother returning a call. When I showed up the manager (short guy w long hair and glasses) was beyond rude to me. He informed me he shredded my debit card and dropped off my ID in a USPS box. I asked him if it was policy and he said "If I don't like it take my business elsewhere" so I will. I was so excited about this spot but the staff are rude and inconsiderate. Happy Does bar more like Sad Don't bar. I urge customers to take there business elsewhere

Yelp
Lauren was are server today. It was our first time here. Me and my friend from Texas sat down and she welcomed us right away. This place had gotten our attention as I was showing him around. It was aesthetically pleasing and you can feel the vibes from the outside! She greeted us and had some recommendations after we gave here information on our preferences. She definitely knows what her guest like. She was attentive and timely. She is so sweet! Her energy definitely created a warm and welcoming environment.

Yelp
dang this place is unique! i'm used to bars with nothing but music and a dance floor. this place had an indoor pickleball court lmao. they also had ping pong, shuffleboard, jenga, connect 4, i mean so much fun. the drinks were pretty strong too which i liked. i could see myself pregaming here with the homies and going to a club after. super fun experience.

Yelp
I came to San Diego for a birthday trip and wanted to go to a bar with my husband and have some fun! I definitely enjoyed this place, many different games to choose from! The corn dogs were my FAV, I enjoyed the mineral drink as well. Some of the employees weren't happy and some were.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance. Bartenders were amazing. Great for drinks and games. Definitely worth the visit. Looking forward to stopping by next time I'm in San Diego.

Yelp
Fantastic fun bar... it's both backyard and cocktail. I started with a PBR tall boy and my bar tender Tim suggested the holiday cocktail... I got the naughty or spice and it rocked the socks right off my feet. This place has fantastic service, games and lots of drink options. Perfect before or after a baseball game or just to watch football on a Sunday. Ask for Tim at the back bar... he'll set ya up
google avatar

Haley Y.

Yelp
Don't bother coming here for a padre game unless you want to only listen to the game in their main room that has no seating. How does that make any sense that they open for the games specifically... and then only play music in 90% of their restaurant. So dumb. Decided to leave.
google avatar

Yelp
Phenomenal DJ and games! Absolutely loved coming here! Great place to stop by if you're from out of town!

Yelp
This is a fun little bar/restaurant that is located in the Gaslamp Quarter. It is decent sized with a huge dining area with a stage, a full bar with seating, and an amazing patio. There are televisions located over the bar and throughout the patio. The patio has its own bar, some fun games like connect four, corn hole and Jenga, some heaters, and is on artificial grass. it is very nice and a fun spot. The place also has outdoor seating out front on the street where parking spots use to be. There is a huge screen playing music videos, with audio, in the dining area. It is the stage's backdrop and they were playing some hot hip-hop. Most nights they host karaoke on the stage, where you can be the star. The bar has some signature cocktails and a compact food menu that includes burgers, chicken tenders, wraps salads and corndogs. They offer beer and slider happy hour specials from 3 to 6 every weekday. I ordered the the Smash Diego Burger with fries. It was ready in about 10 minutes and was fresh and hot. It was not the best burger that I have had, but was pretty good and tasty. The staff here was very friendly and helpful and the place has a chill vibe. There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance and a few commercial garages/lots that you can park when visiting. The street in front of the place is blocked off Thursday through Sunday to vehicle traffic. I really enjoyed my meal here and I may even jump on the mic next time. This is another Gaslamp restaurant that is worth a visit and that I recommend checking out.

Yelp
Meh... We came in on a Saturday afternoon with another couple. The inside bar was not serving, only the bar outside. No taps, only bottled and canned beer, which doesn't thrill me. 16-ounce prices in a 12-ounce container and it just doesn't taste as good. $7 for a can of Modelo. The indoor bar area is huge with a stage and a bunch of TVs, but on a Saturday afternoon there was nothing happening in there. Probably starts hopping at night. The giant Connect Four game by the indoor bar was fun. The outdoor area games looked fun as well. The overall laid back, chill vibe was cool, service was adequate and the bathrooms were clean. The menu has 10 items and is fairly lackluster. Nothing jumped out at us. We stayed for a couple of games of Connect Four and one drink, then moved on. I don't really envision us returning. It was just okay. Happy Does Bar charges a 4% after tax surcharge which makes Happy Does Not Petey. AFTER tax. You're adding a tax to my tax? I thought that double taxation was illegal. Stop with the surcharge!
google avatar

Anna D.

Yelp
Such a fun spot! Love the vibe in the outdoor area. Fun yard games you can play. Inside you can play some arcade games, or take a photo in the Barbie box. Love coming here in the afternoons with my dog.
google avatar

Sam C.

Yelp
We only came here for a drink prior to the game. We didn't plan on going here but the curb appeal of the lively patio was a vibe. My husband got the lychee drink and I got the jalapeño marg (these were a bit expensive with a lot of ice), so we just switched to wells after, which were still good. We played cornhole and met some fun locals.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Fun spot to go to before padres game to grab drinks and play some games! It is self seating but there is plenty of space indoors and out.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Probably one of the fun things to do at The Gaslight Lamp District! An outdoor and indoor space with games such as jenga, connect 4, cornhole, etc. Before walking in, your ID gets checked then you seat yourself. I love the smiley faces and the bright colors of this place! The outdoor area is a lot of fun if you're with a good group. Kids are allowed only until 7pm. So plan wisely. My party and I were lucky to find a great spot towards the back where we got to play with the jenga blocks, cornhole, beer(?) pong. We ordered some drinks, too. Our waitress was great! 5 stars for her! Drinks Yelp elite Dario O. and I got: For The Hell Of It and Just Because. Both drinks were palatable-- didn't taste the alcohol too much which was fine with us because we rather taste the sweet/ tangy flavor then the alcohol hehe aka these are probably creepers esp if you order more than 1! Inside, they have a big screen where you can comfortably watch games while sippin and eatin. Anywho, coming here was a fun evening! Fsho coming here again!
google avatar

Alicia B.

Yelp
Not sure why people hype this place up, it is literally the size of a studio apt. The bartenders are rude the few boring games they have are ALWAYS taken and the vibes are wack! Wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL!
google avatar

Jenn W.

Yelp
We came here two nights in a row for karaoke and I don't even like karaoke. Super fun spot with great music and if you don't want to listen to people sing inside, there are tons of games to play outside. This place is definitely great for hanging out with friends.
google avatar

Jasmin E.

Yelp
Great. Great. Great!. Good ambiance. Good music. Karaoke inside. Backyard-style bar outside. No cover fee. Jenga games. Plenty of seating with lawn chairs and picnic tables. I had a blast.
google avatar

Yelp
I was skeptical about this place but the old fashion, the smash burger and chicken tenders were delicious. Burger especially. Service is boo.

Yelp
The former Gaslamp Strip Club space in downtown has been turned into Happy Does Bar which is supposed to be a country-inspired American bar and restaurant. While the inside has its own bar and lots of seating, the action seemed to be outside in the courtyard where there were picnic tables with bright yellow umbrellas and lawn games. The menu was very simple with only seven choices (burger, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, loaded fries, salad, steak fries, wrap). You place an order at one of the bars and then wait for the food to be brought to your table. The first time I stopped by this place, the staff member who was checking IDs before allowing entry said you could order food inside. It turns out she was only partially correct as the kitchen had already closed for the evening. To shut down food service at 8 pm was quite early, and I left disappointed. On a return visit, I picked the Smash Diego Burger and the Steak Fries for my lunch. The former was made up of two smashed six ounce patties, American cheese, pickles, mayo, and mustard on a buttered bun. There was a healthy portion of thick cut fries in the serving basket. The burger was served upside down which made for an unusual presentation. There were crispy edges to the patties which I enjoyed. The $10 price for this 3/4 lb creation was a good value. The steak fries were exactly like anywhere else that serves them so there wasn't much to comment on. A broader menu and longer kitchen hours would be areas that need to improve for me to rate Happy Does Bar with more than three stars.

Yelp
Enjoyable atmosphere, came during a karaoke night. Singers for slow to come by and sometimes the choices weren't ideal for the mood. Maybe the person running it could've been more enthusiastic but wasn't a gigantic problem. Got drinks in a timely manner but the way a table was put right in front of one of the bars can be problematic sometimes.

Yelp
Music was good. Service was bad. The food was okay. Took a while to get a host to pay with cash.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for some drinks and karaoke! JP the karaoke host is fantastic and always makes it fun. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It was just ok. Plenty of other better spots in the area. Service was slow and good was ok.
