Happy Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Arrived in a clean, comfortable store to a friendly lady at the front counter. She was patient with my order and answered questions I had about menu items. The food was cooked fresh and hot. Crab rangoons were stuffed with filling and had a nice crisp wonton shell unlike some other places that don't deliver on the crunch. I've been hesitant to try this place simply because they don't have a menu listed. Posting some updated pictures of their menu so others don't miss out on this gem. Pricing is great 👍🏼 to top it off. Only discrepancy was they wouldn't cook boneless ribs crispy, upon request, I was told no, an otherwise pleasant experience and id recommend them.

The rice was not hard like so many places are, the eggroll was perfect, and I really liked the rib tips. The chicken wings didn't have a lot of flavor but it was no biggie, I used hot sauce. I would definitely try again and do recommend.

I ordered a general gaus chicken with rice and egg roll. I saw that this place only accepted cash. So luckily I only lived 3 minutes away. I ran back home after arriving and grabbed some cash. The people are very nice and on my first bite the food was so delicious. The chicken was tender and the rice was cooked to perfection. The food last me a couple of days. Very generous portions. Will definitely come back again. Just remember to bring straight cash, other than that, I’d give this place 5 stars 🌟

Usually never a problem here ,but ordered later then I usually do because of working late ,spent $54 dollars and one of thr dishes I ordered had nothing but onions ,some carrots and that's all barely any shrimp ,rice tasted old and chicken tereakyi tasted burnt, I dont think I'll go back again I should have went home and made dinner instead of wasting over 50 dollars on shitty food .

I wanted some spare ribs so bad and I gave this place a try . I wasn’t disappointed wow! Nice portion it wasn’t dry tender and the rice was good thanks so much. I hope it’s like this when I come back 😂💕it’s hard to find decent and or good food in Waterbury. I plan on going on a diet soon.

I have been eating here for 20 years. The food has never changed. Was amazing 20 years ago, is still amazing today! Chicken cooked fresh to order everytime! Rice is flavorful and fluffy and they even make fried plaintains! CASH ONLY!!!

Best fried dumplings I've ever had. Rest of the order was very good. Accurate time given for pickup during a busy time.

My go to Chinese place! White rice, not yellow used in fried rice (my personal preference), requests are always followed, and food is fresh-i watch them cook it if I'm early for a pick up. Cash only-but so what-bank atm across the street if an issue. Fried dumplings Chicken Wings wonton soup -double yummy when sick Egg Rolls- all great Lo mein- all flavors (only thumbs down is amount/variety in veggie lo mein) Pork with rice noodles Pork with mushrooms beef or chicken with broccoli -what we get and enjoy.

Restaurant needs updating: Does not take credit card, suggest they only do delivery. Feels like sitting in a storage room

Food was good got beef fried rice golden chicken fingers ordered. Yelp said takes credit cards. Get there they are only cash no big deal ATM next plaza over. Place was clean and friendly. I'm definitely going to be ordering from them again.

We wanted to try this place, called, asked if they take credit cards, and the woman said, "Sorry pick up, cash only". So, no credit cards (and no delivery, which I personally don't care about). For people like me who pay with cards for the 5% cash back rewards and rarely pay with cash, this isn't a sound business practice imho. Maybe one day I'll try this, but with today's inflation, I'm opting for a restaurant that does take plastic. C'est la vie.

Honestly best rice!! Foods always fresh and the owners are amazing. Hidden gem!!

Very good food, nice people, have not ever been disappointed best Chinese take out I found in Waterbury

Ate here a few times. First time I walked in and ordered a lunch combo. Barely any chicken and all rice. Next few times I ordered and picked up. Food was nothing special. Much less greasy than some places, but nothing to draw me in either. If you live in the area and are not a fan of all the buffets or the other Chinese places I reviewed on here, then this is your place. If you are searching for something special in a Chinese meal, look elsewhere. Prices are just as high as other Chinese take-outs in Waterbury.

This spot is truly a gem in Waterbury! Reminds me of NYC Chinese spots (with the exception of no free egg rolls, or soda etc). The staff is very nice and clean. Cash only though. Always order from them.

I came here late at night for some takeout. The proprietor was very friendly. The food was made hot and fresh and there was a lot of I took it home and it was delicious, really hit the spot. Only issue: cash only, no credit cards.

My friend and I were in the mood for chinese and not being from around this area we yelped and came across this place. After ordering it took awhile to get the food but it was worth the wait. Delicious! I was not expecting such good food. Warning though, cash only.

Recently moved to CT from Queens, NYC and this place is a real hidden gem. Tucked in a random plaza, the friendly staff are more than happy to take your order. Food is good and portions are large. Fair prices and short wait time.
