Happy Lamb - Review - Lynnwood - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Lynnwood just landed a location of a popular hot pot restaurant, joining outposts in Bellevue and the CID. Happy Lamb boasts a large selection of meats and sides, and we particularly love their rich bone marrow-based broth amped up with comforting curry or dried red chilies." - Gabe Guarente

Happy Lamb Hotpot has officially become the new star near Alderwood Mall, and my husband and I walked out wondering how we ever lived without it. From the moment the pot landed on the table, the aroma alone felt like an invitation to settle in and forget the outside world. The broth is extraordinary — deep, rich, and so flavorful it almost tastes slow-cooked by someone’s very patient grandmother. Every sip felt like a warm spark running through you, the kind that makes you pause just to appreciate it. We chose the Prime All You Can Eat ($46.98 per person), and honestly, it’s worth every penny. The meat quality is outstanding — super fresh, clean-tasting, and sliced just right for that perfect swish through the broth. Even after round three… or four… the plates kept coming out pristine, like the kitchen was determined to impress us with every batch. Veggies, noodles, dipping sauces — everything tasted thoughtful and well-prepared, like the restaurant wanted each bite to be as memorable as the one before. The staff was attentive but relaxed, letting us enjoy our slow, indulgent feast without ever feeling rushed. By the time we finished, we were in that blissful hotpot haze — full, warm, and already planning the next visit. If you love hotpot or you’re just craving a meal that feels both comforting and exciting, Happy Lamb Hotpot deserves a top spot on your list. A delicious new addition to the neighborhood that we’re thrilled to have so close 🥢💛 Tips: You can join the waitlist on Yelp before coming in to avoid the long wait time.

We are so glad that Happy Lamb is open in Lynnwood area. Their place is more modern than the Bellevue one. It’s nicely decorated, the atmosphere is great, clean, organize and we love the individual hotpot that they also have. Our server Her-Cheng is amazing. Very attentive to our needs. He is patient, respectful, and he made sure that we have a good experience dining here. We are definitely coming back. Would be nice to know about their rules on free AYCE for birthday person somewhere online. I somehow can’t find it in their website or in this google post

The new store in Lynnwood has a luxurious and spacious interior design with plenty of seating. It’s in a great location, right next to a mall for shopping. The hot pot tastes excellent—the broth is so flavorful that it’s delicious even without dipping sauce. We ordered the spicy pot and the mushroom pot; the spicy broth was fragrant but not overwhelming, while the mushroom broth was rich with tasty mushrooms. There’s a wide selection of meats and seafood, all very fresh. They also offer special snacks made with great care—the lamb wontons were especially delicious. It’s an all-you-can-eat experience without feeling heavy. Our whole family really enjoyed it, making it a perfect spot for both dining and family outings with kids.

This was my first time at HL! I’ve been to plenty of hot pot spots around here, and most tend to be pretty low-key—but this one stood out, likely thanks to its prime location. The ambiance was great, and the service matched it. We chose the mild broth to keep things lighter and less oily, and went with the standard AYCE option (skipping the spice bar since it costs extra). The meat, shrimp, and veggies all tasted fresh, but we just don’t have the appetite to make AYCE worth it. My only gripe: they don’t offer a basic sauce! Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience. 5 stars – Exceptional: Outstanding food, service, and/or overall experience. Truly worth going out of your way for. (For example, we frequently make the drive from San Antonio to Austin just for Uchi.) 4 stars – Very Good: Exceeds expectations in quality, service, or ambiance. 3 stars – Good: A solid experience that meets expectations. I consider any place with 3 stars or above worthy of a return visit. 2 stars – Disappointing: Falls short in food quality or service. 1 star – Poor: Not recommended.

We made reservations for 8 people a little over 2 weeks in advance for a Halloween hotpot night with family. We were seated at a 6 person table and were given 2 additional chairs. That would not have been a problem if it weren’t for the rude server who was not our server making a snide remarks that we were blocking the aisle due to the chairs being in the way and looking at me directly with a dirty look. First of all. It’s a party of 8. That should have been planned by the restaurant scheduler. It’s not our fault we were seated there. Had the restaurant done their job properly. I wouldn’t be putting this restaurant on blast for the worst service ever! Does it make any sense to seat a party of 8 at a booth that seats 6? It was hard to eat due to the lack of room, but since we were with family. We tried to make the best of it. Overall. The food was good. Our waitress was very attentive and handled us with care. We won’t be going back to this restaurant. It’s too chaotic and after being treated like that at the beginning. That’s the last $540.00 bucks this restaurant will ever get from me. Aldo. I think the 20 minute wait time to re order more food is tyrannical! People at a high premium and waiting 20 minutes to re order food is simply unreasonable! This was our first time going to this restaurant. Never Again!

10/10 absolutely amazing! Our server Kim was so kind, too! The restaurant itself is clean and very aesthetically pleasing. But the food!? I was absolutely blown away. The curry soup base was my favorite. Everything was perfect! I honestly think the 20 minute wait between servings is brilliant. It gives you a chance to eat what you ordered and decide what you do next versus just ordering to order and then wasting food. Smart move! Edit to add: I loved my experience so much, I made my friend join me for lunch 4 days later. I asked for Kim specifically 😆

We visited during the soft opening and opted for the à la carte menu instead of AYCE, spending about $70 before tip for two people and still having plenty of leftovers. My favorite was the grass fish. So fresh and crisp. For meats, we tried the Angus beef and beef short plate. The Angus was definitely better ; it’s more tender and less fatty. Dumplings were just okay (frozen, not really worth it). The napa cabbage came in a generous portion. Service was okay, though they’re clearly still figuring things out. We waited about 40 minutes just for our broths. Overall, the food quality is good, and we’d come back.

We really like the Bellevue location, so we were super excited that Alderwood was opening one too! We made a reservation a few days in advance (for 9/27 at 5 PM) with the soft opening discount. However, when we arrived, the front staff said our reservation was at 5 AM, which was odd since the restaurant isn’t even open then. 😅 We ended up waiting about half an hour before being seated. It seemed like they were a bit short-handed, as several tables were still waiting to be cleaned. Once seated, we got a table with individual hot pots, which was great since we could try different broth flavors. We really liked the broth at first, but after they refilled it with plain soup, the flavor was completely gone. It would be nice if refills could be done with the same flavored broth that was originally ordered. We ordered the premium AYCE option, but later found out that several items on the menu were not available. Love the freshness and quality of the ingredients. We also paid extra for the sauce bar, but unfortunately, most of the side dishes didn’t taste quite right — the fried chicken wings were the only thing we really enjoyed. The kimchi and marinated cucumber tasted really weird. We used to love the sauce bar items at the Bellevue location when we visited before summer, so maybe the recipes have changed. When we started ordering food, it came out in very small portions — sometimes just a few pieces. But toward the end, everything suddenly started arriving in double portions, and it got confusing which items we had already received. After the meal, we also found out that ice cream was out, which was a bit disappointing. Lastly, when we got the check, the soft opening discount wasn’t applied, and our server had to ask the manager to fix it. That said, all the staff were very friendly, and Ben in particular was super attentive and explained everything to us clearly. The new Alderwood location is spacious, bright, and beautifully decorated, and we’re hoping that once things smooth out after the soft opening, it’ll live up to the great experience we’ve had at Bellevue.
