Where to Eat Chinese Hot Pot in Greater Boston

"Happy Lamb — which has locations in Allston, Cambridge, and Chinatown — is best at a Northern-style, meat-heavy hot pot with clear broth and less heat. Don’t miss out on the cut beef and lamb, sliced so thinly that it only takes a few seconds to cook the meat to a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The restaurant group is also known for running a seasonal “all-you-can-meat” lunch special." - Valerie Li Stack

The Happy Lamb Hot Pot Restaurant Chain Is Expanding to Allston | Eater Boston

"A hot pot chain that operates two nearby restaurants — one in Central Square, Cambridge, and another in Boston’s Chinatown — and is seeking to open a new Allston location at 130 Brighton Ave. pending transfer of the former occupant's food and alcohol license. The chain has been the subject of at least one federal complaint in which 14 current and former employees allege multiple labor violations, including wage theft, refusal to allow use of accrued sick time, exposure to potentially hazardous cleaning chemicals, retaliatory cuts to hours, and other claims; the company has formally denied all allegations in filings with the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts. No opening timeline has been announced for the Allston site." - Terrence Doyle

Came here for hot pot and had a really good experience. The food was fresh, soup base was good, and the place felt comfortable and easygoing. Big shout-out to Ann — she took great care of us. Super friendly, checked in often, and made sure everything was smooth the whole time. You can tell she actually cares about customers, and that honestly makes a big difference. Will definitely come back again.

We got the regular which came with 6 different selection of meat. They had a handful selection of hotpot ingredients, but I wished they had enoki mushrooms. I also wished that they brought the meat out faster, we waited around a lot. They had hot food such as rice and noodles. They also had a handful selection of desserts and fruits. But overall the place was a vibe, clean, and the food and broth were great. Would recommend.

I am from Baotou. And the founder of this happy lamb is from Baotou. Their hot pot is so authentic! Waiters and waitresses are nice!

All you can eat hot pot was definitely worth it! There were so many options to choose from, and all the meat selections were good quality. The service was amazing too. Highly recommend!

Google
Pretty decent hotpot. Their beef stew is delicious. I would advise against going 2 broths half half. Doing one full beef stew is honestly the way to go. It's rich in flavor. Their veggies and seafood selection is decent. Nothing to rave about but decent. My gf likes the spicy stew to cook meat in for flavor but I'm not about it. Budget about 2 hours for this place.

AYCE hotpot is pretty decent. The sliced meat is pretty good, but some of the marinated meats tasted strange. Decent amount of options you can select at the buffet, but definitely got full faster than normal here. Overall, decent food, good service, but probably wouldn't go twice.

Amazing experience! A vast selection of veggies and meat. Really great customer service. We went in as a party of six but ended up paying for 5 people because eof a surprising discount from the store. The lamb and beef were outstanding good.
