Excellent premium hot pot buffet experience at HLHP and I'd happily come back, but when it's less busy and chaotic -- like *not* a on Friday-Sunday evening.
Broths I've tried and enjoyed are original marrow broth, spicy marrow broth, and golden cabbage marrow broth (sour &spicy). Like all hot pot places, the broths are salty and you'll need to hydrate a lot after your meal.
Of the premium meats, my favorites were the crispy baked lamb shank, crispy fish filet, natural spring lamb, and the ribeye. You have to put in an order with the server for these items. But on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. round of meat requests, the servers completely forget to bring them to you and you have to repeatedly place the order or complain before they bring it.
What I especially love about this hot pot location is the buffet style of veggies, carbs, seafood ingredients, noodles and other carbs, appetizers, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages so you can have a full meal experience and only eat as much as you like to eat on other non-red meat items.
Tip 1: Wear clothes you don't mind stinking up. Leave your jackets, hats and wigs in the car or at home. Or bring a plastic bag to put in your items to prevent it from stinking. My winter coat stunk for days even after airing it out outdoors over night and finally gave up and had to get it washed.
Tip 2: Ask for bibs so you don't splash on your clothes that you're going to stink up.
Tip 3: Apparently the person dining there on his/her birthday (with ID proof of birthdate) can eat for free
Tip 4: Reserve a private room if you have a large party (maybe 6-8 minimum) so it is not as loud and chaotic.
