"This International District spot is a maze of deep booths and long Game Of Thrones-looking dining tables with multiple vats of bubbling soup. Here, you don’t need to calculate how many slices of ribeye and orders of enoki mushrooms are needed to feed a hungry group of seven. Just defer to the restaurant’s all-you-can-eat option for $32.98 (or the weekday lunch version for $29.98). While the meats and sides are pretty standard for most hot pot places, we love the rich bone marrow-based broth amped up with a comforting curry or dried red chilies. And you’ll especially enjoy eating tasty lime cilantro lamb meatballs and head-on shrimp when you don’t have to ration." - Kayla Sager-Riley

"Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a large restaurant whose hot pot is made with flavorful broths (get the combo of original and spicy Szechuan) and high-quality meat, seafood, and vegetables. You can go AYCE for $21.99, but we prefer ordering a la carte because the menu is longer. This place gets incredibly busy and only takes reservations for 10 or more, so you can expect a long wait. Luckily they have a self-serve ice cream machine and free bags of chips to help." - Adrian Kane

Clean and nice environment. Excellent services! And they got lot of great food sections and all you can eat! They even have the Chinese beer which surprised me! Definitely be back again and highly recommended if you want a great Hot pot!

Simply wonderful Hot Pot. Lots of options - meats, vegetables, starches, noodles, sauces, drinks. and cooked foods. There is something for everyone. This popular restaurant is especially popular during the winter months. The resulting broth from the meats, seafood, and vegetables form the flavorful broth for everyone to enjoy. There is plenty of parking at Eden Center. Enjoy your dining experience!

Google
This is easily one of the best hotpot spots in the DC metro area! The spicy broth strikes the perfect balance of bold, enjoyable spices, adding a unique depth of flavor to every bite. The all-you-can-eat meat option might seem a bit pricey, but it’s definitely worth it for the quality and variety. While the veggie selection is standard, the assortment of sauces really elevates each dish, letting you customize flavors to your taste. Service is friendly and fast, making the experience even better. Highly recommended, especially on chilly winter days!

Google
It's a great location for hot pot focusing on lamb. There is also a fairly large variety of vegetables, some seafood and noodles but this is for the lamb.

Google
Happy Lamb is one of my favorite hotpot spots in the area. I love their communal pot setup—it makes the whole experience more fun and engaging, especially when enjoying hotpot family-style. The standard AYCE option offers several type of meats, and our favorite is the marbled lamb slices. The meat is incredibly fresh, with beautiful marbling that makes it so tender. It’s melt-in-your-mouth delicious when just cooked. I’m also a fan of the shrimp paste—you get to enjoy the light, plump shrimp meat without the hassle of peeling any shells. The self-serve area also offers a huge selection of vegetables, tofu, and seafood, so you can pick whatever looks good to you, which is a big plus in my book. For the soup base, I always go with the half-and-half. Why choose just one flavor when you can have two :) The staff is friendly and attentive, frequently checking in to restock our premium meats. The only downside is the parking. Eden Center can get pretty hectic on weekends. But overall, Happy Lamb is a fantastic spot, and I’d highly recommend it to fellow hotpot lovers.

Google
Overall, Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a delicious and enjoyable spot for hot pot dining. While I found some of the meat could have been a bit fresher, it was still flavorful and satisfying. My family and I visit this place from time to time since it's not only affordable, but it offers a variety of fresh veggies, noodles, and other side options, making it a great choice for anyone, including those looking for vegetarian selections. Afterward, we always visit one of the nearby boba shops to round out the meal. The lively atmosphere and extensive selections make it a wonderful spot to enjoy with family or friends. You and your family will definetly walk out feeling full and maybe even bloated. If you’re looking for a cozy and inclusive hot pot experience, Happy Lamb is definitely worth a visit!

Google
I last visited Happy Lamp Hot Pot in February. I wish I had known that would be my last good experience. We ordered the Spicy Beef broth today, and I couldn’t believe how tasteless it was. Unfortunately, when the broth, which is the main component of hot pot, lacks flavor, nothing else matters. It felt like we ordered plain spicy water instead of Spicy Beef broth. Zero flavor. Maybe it was just a one-time mishap, so I might give it another chance, but if I have the same experience again, I won’t be returning to this place.

Google
Nice concept but for a person that’s is doing hotpot a lot, not for me. The first room was nice and cool but somehow the back room was so hot, not fun doing hotpot by 95 outside and the inside is nearly the same. Also no desserts or juice. The selections is very slim in my opinion. I don’t want to start about the customer service, I failed by asking nicely if we could do anything about the temperature since my 5 year old son was sweating like a lam at this point. since that they took away our Menue and never stopped by the table again even when we called. So we had to walk up every time we wanted order more or get the check. In my opinion if they can regulate the temperature in one room with running Hotpot’s I was just asking if there is anything we can do in the second room. Somehow the management felt like it was wrong for me to just ask. So… never again.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a weekday and there was a small wait but we got seated in like 5 minutes. I've been to other happy lambs and I think that this one was the best. I really liked how the only thing you order is the broth and the sliced meats and then everything else you can get on your own. It really adds to the experience and then I can feel comfortable eating at my own pace. Out of the two broths we got I think that the spicy one was not as good as the non spicy one. The bone marrow broth was really flavorful and went well with everything. All of the other dishes were good since I got to choose what I liked. We only ordered the non marinated meats and they were all pretty similar. I think the only thing that I wish was better was that the rice cakes had a better texture since they had cracks. Other than that everything was great.

Yelp
My friend took me here and introduced the place. It's all you can eat where you order as much meat as you want from a menu and self service for veggies and some other items. I enjoyed the freedom to get up as many times as I want and not have to choose everything at once from the start. The two broths we chose were also very flavorful so I'm very satisfied with that. This restaurant has one pot per table so if you prefer one pot per person, as some places have, or if your group can't agree on broth maybe this isn't the place. It's delicious though, reasonably priced. I'm taking off a star because there was a fly in something but they immediately took it away and apologized and everything else looked fine and tasted good so

Yelp
Prepare your taste buds for a flavor-packed adventure at Happy Lamb Hot Pot, where the broth flows as richly as the good vibes! From the moment you step into the world-famous home of Inner-Mongolian hot pot, you're hit with the enticing aroma of their legendary 8-hour bone marrow broth--a culinary masterpiece that sets the stage for a memorable feast. The process is a bit of a mystery at first (pro tip: brush up on your hot pot strategy beforehand!), but the staff are so warm and attentive you'll feel like you're in great hands. Be ready to flag them down for refills of your favorite proteins (like the must-try garlic beef, which was hands-down my favorite). And oh, the seafood! The variety is so vast, you'll feel like Poseidon at a buffet. While there are plenty of beef and chicken options to keep meat lovers happy, I was mildly let down by the lack of a dessert option. Ending a meal on a sweet note is my thing, but maybe Happy Lamb is telling us that the hot pot itself is dessert-worthy! One little hiccup: the team doesn't walk you through how the restaurant works. So, you may find yourself doing a bit of culinary detective work. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's smooth sailing--and so worth it! So grab your chopsticks and dive in. Happy Lamb is a feast for the senses, and your belly will leave as happy as their mascot promises. Pro Tip: Pair that broth with garlic beef and thank me later!

Yelp
My party of 3 arrived on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm and we were able to get seated immediately. They have two options for AYCE (regular and premium) and your entire party must choose the same option. We were initially going to choose premium but the staff was nice enough to give us a heads up that some of the options weren't available that night so we ended up going with regular. They have a wide variety of soup bases and our table went with the 1/2 and 1/2 option which is their house broth and a spicy version. This is the safest option if you're not too sure what type to order! I thought both broths were flavorful but definitely enjoyed the slight kick from the spicy one. All meats are ordered with the server and the rest of the goodies (vegetables, seafood, fish balls, noodles, etc) are self serve. They also have a soft drink station included in your meal. The meat quality was pretty solid which kinda solidified the idea that premium isn't really necessary. Make your monies worth and get everything but the chicken! My favorites were the marinated garlic beef, hand sliced beef short plate, and kurobuta pork. Not only that, I went crazy at the self serve area and probably grabbed like 10+ mussels. Price is justifiable because you easily make your money's worth and the quality is good. Bonus points because you leave feeling stuffed without feeling gross. My only qualm from my experience was that the floors were incredibly sticky and not well-maintained. Overall, great spot and would be down to come back again!

Yelp
Happy Lamb offers authentic Mongolian-style hot pot with unique options that set it apart. This location is situated in Eden Center, a vibrant hub of Vietnamese small businesses in Falls Church. The pricing is reasonable, particularly during lunch hours. However, be aware of holiday pricing, which is slightly higher--we experienced this on Christmas Eve. The restaurant operates on an all-you-can-eat model with a large, shared family-style hot pot. You have the option to choose a single soup base or a split pot featuring the Original and Spicy Marrow broths; we opted for the latter. Toppings and sauces are self-serve at designated bars, and drinks are also self-serve, adding to the convenience. The quality of the meat is impressive--fresh and not overly fatty. Even as someone who isn't typically a fan of lamb, I appreciated that it was neither gamey nor had a strong aftertaste. One area that I would consider changing is the presentation of ingredients at the sauce bar. With peanut allergies being common, I was concerned that crushed peanuts were left uncovered, posing a risk of cross-contamination. As someone with a severe allergy, I hesitated to use the sauce bar due to this setup. I recommend the restaurant consider placing peanuts in a sealed container to mitigate this risk and accommodate guests with allergies. Overall, the service is fast and efficient. The only items we needed to order were the meat selections and broth. The restaurant's spacious layout makes it a great choice for larger parties.

Yelp
It's been a while since my last review and many things have changed here. They are now AYCE and have a sauce bar. That said, they are still the best hotpot place in nova. Get here early to get on the waitlist and prepare to wait at least 20-30 min. My advice is to take some time and walk around Eden center and take in the local culture, sights, and especially smells from all the delicious food places. My go-to is the lamb. I used to try and rotate between the lamb and pork but the lamb is just so good. Get yourself the best of both worlds so you have one side spicy and the other non-spicy. Load it down with vegetables to enhance the flavor and then the meat last since it doesn't take long at all.

Zarin B.

Yelp
My favorite place when I'm craving lamb. I get their premium menu and order all the lamb specials. Last time I went I got some stewed lamb spine (like oxtail) which had some lamb marrow, and their chef special was lamb belly which was so yummy. Ordered a bunch of wagyu and spring lamb off the premium menu as well. Overall def worth the price ($33 ish for dinner). I love the veggies but sometimes they don't have lotus root which is sad. Favorite broths are mala and cabbage and tomato. Broths are good but not crazy flavorful like at some places (it's a bit watered down). But still good.

Ricardo R.

Yelp
Overall is a cool and different way of eating other than what we normally have in western cuisine. The bone broth is delicious. The spicy broth is very spicy, very, very spicy. And before you judge, I can usually tolerate most cuisines considered spicy. With all this intro, let me give you how it works. Get a reservation as it is normally packed. Order the type of broth you like, stand up and choose your veggies, noodles, and proteins. Everything is cut so that it cooks on the table. The table does have a stove to keep the broth hot. It's a cool experience and the food is very good. It's a must try for sure.

Geddy Z.

Yelp
Really good selection of broths, hot pot fish balls, vegetables and meats. One of my favorite hot pot places in the area!

Valery L.

Yelp
I don't usually go out for hot pot but having already been out all day, we didn't have time and heard great things about this place so had to try it out. There were two selections and since we don't venture to Virginia that often, we went with the more inclusive option. Unfortunately one of the meats was not available but we still had plenty to choose from along with various veggies and seafood we could get ourselves. Going during peak dinner hours, we often had to flag down a server to place additional orders of meat. Despite all this, I would recommend people trying this place out! Definitely expect to wait a bit if you go during peak busy hours. Google said that there was no wait time for when we wanted to go but had to wait ~45 mins as we couldn't reserve ahead of time. I appreciate when other restaurants provide iPads that allow its customers to place orders to the kitchen so hopefully they'll think to incorporate this idea.

Yelp
This was fun with a group of friends. They had weird rules about how or where you could sit there were 6 of us and 2 of us are non-meat eaters- we had to get our own table to get our own broth pot. The extra weird part was that we were at a table with a divider and you could just take the divider down and let the 2 of us sit there which is part of the "same table" but had it's own hot plate. We actually had to move to a booth next to our friend group and they sat 2 others at the table with the divider. Very strange.... There are lots of options at the buffet but things could be labeled better and refilled more. Overall a lot of fun but would want to try somewhere else vs coming back to here

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my first hot pot experience! I've heard great things about Happy Lamb and the $28 AYCE experience lived up to its reputation. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night and were seated at a table right away! You order your meat selections at the table. You serve yourself veggies, noodles & sauces from the buffet. The price includes fountain soda as well. We enjoyed a split pot of the best of both worlds - original & spicy marrow broth. My favorite protein was the marinated garlic beef - it was so great we ordered it twice! The shrimp paste was delicious and fun to cook in the broth! This was such a fun date spot for a great price - we are already looking forward to our next visit for happy lamb!

Jacob C.

Yelp
We recently tried this place for lunch, and though the food was fine, it was markedly worse than on previous visits and not as good as other places in the area at the same price point. They used to have more hot items - this time only 2, and they weren't as good; the broth was a lot less flavorful; the meat choices were more narrow; and their noodle offering no longer included fresh noodles (which were a favorite). One bright spot was the Mongolian Kimchi, which was delicious. This will probably be our last visit.

Laura H.

Yelp
We went during Christmas Eve and got seated right away. The service was really friendly and nice, our server was the sweetest! I'll definitely be coming back Broth had a lots of flavor, this place has the best broth I've ever tasted. Meat was very fresh and high quality. Their dumplings are my favorite, it was restaurant made and was so soft and packed with delicious protein. The restaurant is mostly self serve besides meat. All vegetables, seafood, drinks, and sauces are self serve through the side of the restaurant. I can see this restaurant has a lot of passion and care for their customers!

Angela S.

Yelp
Happy Lamb is an all-you-can-eat Chinese hot pot restaurant. It offers a nice variety of meat, veggies and seafood at a reasonable price. The price even includes soft drinks which makes this a great value. For those who are not familiar, Chinese hot pot typically comes with a choice of spicy and non-spicy broth in which you cook the food. We tried both and liked the flavor. The marinated garlic beef was also very good. Hot pot is great for winter months. The downside is that the restaurant is warm in the summer.

Kitchen B.

Yelp
The food and the service is great. Plus, they have halal lamb option which makes the place more attractive than others.

Nina T.

Yelp
Favorite hotpot place in VA! They have a great selection of fresh ingredients, from meats to vegetables, all served with flavorful broths.

Sharon M.

Yelp
Good value AND tasty All You Can Eat Hot Pot! I don't remember what I got, but since it's all you can eat, we just got one of everything from the menu for starters, and then ordered more of the things that we actually liked. The premium experience is only a few dollars more than the regular (~$35), so we got that one, and it was definitely worth it! It was tasty, and you can definitely eat enough to get your money's worth. Plus, they gave us free ice cream at the end, so the service is great! Definitely going back in the future. WARNING: The wait time at this location can be as bad as an hour, so be prepared to hang around Eden Center and to check out the other stores!

David C.

Yelp
Classic hot pot experience with one large pot in the center with soup(s) of your choosing. Perfect for a group of four - we tried the premium VIP meat selection with the best of both worlds soup. Good selection of side dishes to select from, and you get free refills of some fountain drinks as well. It was all you can eat for about $34? per person. Reservations are only for very large groups (so my group couldn't reserve in advance), but we were still able to find seating on a Saturday night (barely). Plenty of parking spaces around the shopping center as well, so you don't have to worry too much about if you can find any parking nearby. If I am ever looking for food in the area again, I will definitely consider coming back!

Judy C.

Yelp
Food was ok, has lamb and beef and normal vegetables for a Chinese hotpot. Service was not good, was ignored for a long time and charged two people's price although only me ate there, they later corrected it but it's really careless.

Karla P.

Yelp
I love love this place! I've been to a few hot pot places around the NOVA area, I will always want to go here. Their small buffet option is really nice! I won't lie the fried rice isn't always the best but with the soup and food it goes down pretty good. I enjoy this place a lot and I highly recommend it to whoever wants to get hot pot with a large group! Eden center is a great place to be at in general because they have many sweet treat options such as BOBA! So highly recommend.

Janet G.

Yelp
Hot pot at Happy Lamb is my comfort meal, and I love coming here with friends and family! It's always a great experience and value with their prices at $21 for lunch and $28 for dinner/weekends. There's a max of 90min eating time and an auto 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Once you get seated, you order your broth and meats with your server. The veggies, noodles, and other meats (seafood, fishballs, shrimp paste), as well as sauces and sodas (included), are self-serve near the entrance. I always get the Best of Both Worlds broth (half original, half spicy), and I love the beef short plate. My favorite extras are the fried bean curds (dip for 3-5 sec), glass noodles, mushrooms, and daikon! The service can be slow at times when it gets busy but the staff here, especially Mandy, are very friendly and helpful. Decor is very cute with dried flowers hanging from the ceiling! Plenty of parking in the lot, since it's in Eden Center.

Moriah L.

Yelp
Cool place, great service. I love the self serve drinks. Good variety and quality of food. Lots of greens, seafoods, and mushrooms to choose from. Super flavorful broth. I'd definitely go back. It's a cute little restaurant.

Jin S.

Yelp
Happy Lamb is one of the only places that still offers AYCE hot pot at a great value AND quality broth/meats. Lunch prices are as low as $20.99 and dinner/weekend is just under $30, there is also a premium option with more lamb and beef cuts. Happy Lamb is one of the few restaurants where the broth is rich and flavorful enough that sauce is optional. Most of the meat cuts are ordered on the menu and brought out to your table but the rest of the food is available buffet style up front where you serve yourself and bring it back to the table. There are plenty of seafood, vegetable, tofu, and noodle options available. There is also a limited hot bar with fried rice and some other cooked items plus desserts. Soft drinks are included as well. The restaurant does get crowded and have wait times during peak hours. This is a must try for anyone into hot pot!

Patrick G.

Yelp
I am typically not a fan of hot pot, but this place was awesome! A friend recommended this restaurant, and advocated for Mongolian hot pot. The broth was extremely hearty and rich, which was very enjoyable. For $27, this all-you-can-eat hot pot is hard to beat! Definitely recommend this place to anyone; come hungry!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Super yummy hotpot place! They have really great deals for those who come in as a group on certain days. We got a half and half broth, and the spicy one was soo spicy and good! They have a self-service bar for vegetables, carbs, and seasoned meats, while you order the raw cuts. The waiters were extremely kind and were not stingy at all with the meat, even coming by to give us an extra plate because the kitchen was busy and they didn't want to keep us waiting. They provide large bibs to protect your clothes, which is great for hotpot and a bit comical when you're with friends. We all had a great time and rated it an overall 9/10 for hotpot places we've been to. I would definitely come again, as this is definitely my go-to hotpot place!

Annie S.

Yelp
WE LOVE THIS PLACE. Honestly our favorite restaurant, so much so that we came here on Valentines Day. It is V day worthy. $28 for AYCE meats, veggies, noodles and soda. Everything you need, they got it. UGH it is the best place. When you sit down, you choose the broth you want. We always do a double broth of spicy and traditional. The broth has amazing flavor. The spicy is spicy and they come by and refill the broth as needed. You then choose if you want the regular or premium meats, we've only done regular and are happy with it. Our favorite is the beef short rib, but they also have pork, lamb, chicken and many other beef choices. Once you've ordered you can pick up everything else. They have 4 choices of noodles, veggies like potato, sweet potato, bok choy, daikon, and so much more, a few tofu options, fish options like shrimp, shrimp paste, calamari and more, and fried rice. Every time we go, they have different stuff. We've even seen dessert options out like cream puffs. There is unlimited soda and a make your own sauce stand. The staff is amazing. They are so nice and hard workers, running around making sure everyone has what they need. You can park in the lot for the Eden Center.

Evangeline L.

Yelp
Came as a party of two over the weekend and was seated almost immediately. If you're looking for quantity and breadth of options, it's definitely the place for you. The buffet is large with a variety of meat and veggie options. However, I wouldn't call this the best hot pot spot in terms of quality. Not all the buffet options were fresh and it wasn't the highest quality ingredients.

Billy T.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in a long time, but I'm glad I came back. Happy Lamb does AYCE hot pot with a buffet section as well. It's not cheap, but the food is great here. There are two options for the AYCE hot pot, with the more expensive option featuring more cuts of meat. The buffet is open to everyone, and has vegetables, noodles, some seafood, and lamb dumplings (so good). The food overall was wonderful, and the service was good too. It gets pretty busy on weekend evenings, but that's because it's good!

Bradley L.

Yelp
Good hot pot place that provides the veggies and seafood through an open bar option along with the sauces and beverages. Made it easy to order food and not get stuff lost as orders for large tables get larger and larger.

Yvonne W.

Yelp
Oh boy! This place is really down DOWN HILL and the service is full of crap. Right when you walk in and head into the appetizers aisle - there are only two things. Fried Shrimp chips and sesame balls. ( both are soggy as hell) and then the quality of food goes into saying that the shrimp they provide is not cleaned at all- it has the black stripe of poop entirely contained within the shrimp. Other things that makes this place bad is that the quality of service you receive is horrendous. Literally have to walk out to a waiter or waitress to flag them down to get anything. We also had a party of 5- and we had to share a pot !!!! Yes we were made to share ONE pot meanwhile the small table next to us had to be blocked off but no other guests were using it the entire time while we asked if we could have two pots and were refused! The quality of meat is also not there- esp don't get the marinated meat! They taste nasty! They marinate it so you can't taste the un- freshness !!! Will never come back unfortunately !!!!

Vivian T.

Yelp
Happy Lamb is an amazing AYCE hot pot spot if you like a variety of meat and vegetable options. All of the non-meat options like vegetables and fish balls are laid out in a buffet/self-serve style for you to grab as much as you'd like to eat. There's a sauce bar to make whatever dip you'd like. There are also non-hotpot options like fried rice or stir-fry and desserts like oranges and ice cream. In terms of drinks, you can refill your own drinks at the fountain drinks machine. The hot pot broth was pretty good. The spicy option wasn't as spicy as I'd like, but in general, I'd recommend getting the split pot so you can try the original and spicy broths. In regards to the meat quality, the ordered meat is pretty fresh and portion sizes are generous. All the vegetables seemed fresh too. Some of my favorite meat/veggie options they had include the lamb dumplings, mushrooms, and shrimp paste. A few issues I had include how some of the meat options served at the self-service bar didn't seem as fresh as the meat that you order at table and there weren't enough tongs for each individual ingredient at the self-serve bar so the tong used to get raw seafood or meat could've been used on veggies. Just a warning that the restaurant is a bit crammed at the entrance so there's not much space for you to wait indoors for your table. Overall, the food is delicious and the service is really quick and nice.

Nick S.

Yelp
High quality meats and other assortments. Service is great and the vibe also the same.

Amy K.

Yelp
I like the different selection of food plus you grab all the food from the buffet. Makes it go so much faster I think. The waiters still bring the main meat to you cause I think they cut the meat as it gets ordered. Will def go back.

Alice J.

Yelp
Good value (cheap all you can eat hot pot with a sauce bar and veggie / seafood bar). You do get a lot of food for what you pay for. The hot pot is in the middle of the table, a big pot shared by all at the table. Noisy, "cheap" ambiance (though prompt service); music was way too loud and lighting too harsh. Powerful A/C (felt quite cold!), but I guess it promotes consumption of hot pot. There are a lot of tables (the place is bigger than it appears outside). Lots of crowds and crowding especially around the salad / sauce bars. Our order of "VIP" all you can eat dishes came super fast (we were barely back from the veggie bar and the pot, meat, everything were set up on our table already). Kudos to them. We ordered a carafe of kumquat tea (warm) which was very nice. Due to the crowd (we came at 6 pm on a Saturday night), the sauce bar, veggie / tofu / seafood bar area was messy; several trays emptied out by greedy people; unkept and even dirty. It puts a dampener on your appetite. On the plus side, they do offer some small hot dishes at the bar that you can enjoy immediately: fried rice, pot stickers, calamari, and some pickled olives. The pot stickers and calamari were dry, rubber-y, and overcooked, sadly. The real minus (nearly a deal breaker) was the ladies' room. Two stalls, but one was disgusting and unusable. No one flushes the toilet here? Or under-staffed and didn't clean the toilet? The other stall barely usable. One can always tell the quality of a restaurant by looking at the condition of their toilets.

The N.

Yelp
Decent variety of options, great sauce bar selections too. Freshness and cleanliness varies, have been several times.

Yelp
Amazing. Best hot pot in the area, especially if you like lamb. Meat is fresh and delicious and the buffet choices are phenomenal. Not only do you have a lot of additional choices to select from the buffet outside of the meat menu, it is such a great idea to reduce waste and get exactly what you want. Buffet options include fish, seafood/lobster/meat balls, an assortment of noodles, tripe, shrimp, other meats and veges. When selecting from the meat menu options I would say not to waste your money on getting VIP everything that you would want to get is on the basic menu. The lamb is particularly delicious. Oh and make sure to add yourself on the Yelp waitlist, wait times can be an hour or more wait at peak times

Yelp
Definitely one of the better hot pot places in the area and also one of the cheaper options. The meats were very tender for the price point.

Yelp
This was our families first experience at a Hot Pot restaurant. My children are pretty picky about food as well as my husband. They were able to find food to eat and then some! They tried new things and loved it! My son ate Lamb never would have happened anywhere else! Veggies were fresh, meat was good and the broth was super tasty. The server seemed new and didn't speak English very well. She was very nice and did her best but she did bring us the wrong half & half broth. Ordered Original and Tomato but we received Original and Spicy It was a bit too spicy for my kids, my husband and I used it and it gave more flavor to the meat and too much to the noodles (if you don't like spice!) Restaurant was clean, with beautiful bouquets of dried flowers hanging from the ceiling. A great experience and wonderful local spot for people to visit!

Yelp
Happy Lamb used to be my favorite restaurant. I loved their seafood combination platter with fresh oysters, scallops, shrimp, and fish. However, ever since it transitioned into an all-you-can-eat buffet style, it has gone downhill. There needs to be more variety of green vegetables. Now, the fish and meat lack flavor and freshness. The worst part was the shrimp paste balls; they used to be on my order list, but now they lack flavor and the right texture. Every time we ate there, my husband had digestive issues. We complained about the moldy tofu to the manager, but the new manager couldn't speak English and ignored us the entire time. No one took our order until a friendly Spanish-speaking boy came and attended to us. He was the only one who paid attention to our table and provided excellent service. The dining hall is decent; however, the buffet area is tiny, with not enough space for more than two people to get food at the same time. Customers have to wait in line for food, drinks, and condiments. In short, the overall experience at Happy Lamb was not as good as it used to be. There are no more friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the food lacks freshness. There are other hot pot places that offer better food, service, and ambiance than Happy Lamb.

Yelp
Come every Friday for dinner. Truly wonderful experience and food, half-and-half pot recommended and short plate beef was amazing. Good service with hospitality all the time. Definitely worth for coming.

Yelp
My favorite meal in the world is hot pot. There are a lot of good hot pot restaurants around, but Happy Lamb has become our favorite. They used to do a pay per item model, where each plate of sliced meats was charged, and it was probably near the top of our hot pot restaurants. But now that they have become all you can eat, it is our favorite. What is nice is that you can go up to the bar, take a little of this, little of that and sample a bite of everything on their food bar. Meats are still ordered and they bring you a plate, but it is now one price for as much as you can eat, so come hungry and expect to leave stuffed! They didn't used to have a dip making station either, and they added one just prior to going all you can eat, so I used to make my own at home and bring it, but the dip bar now has nearly everything I use to make my favorite dip. We always get the best of both worlds soup, half spicy half original flavor. I like spicy, but kids like original. Highly recommend Happy Lamb, I have tried lots of hot pot places, and the price is reasonable, and the meats are high quality.

Yelp
Signed up on the waitlist on yelp and said the expected wait time time was till 9pm and the restaurant closes at 10pm. We got there at 8:30 to check in with the front desk. Did not get seated till around 9:50pm. We were sitting waiting for so long that only until the person running the front to check up on us there was table was available. We get seated 10 min before closing and quickly ordered the Best of Both Worlds. Came out wrong and only had the non spicy one on both sides so had to get it sent back. It was so close to closing that we were barely able to get any of the buffet dishes on the side since they cleaned up. Finally got the right soup and ordered meat. The meat was good quality and the basic broth was good. The spicy broth was good but was just spicy, felt like it was lacking some flavor to it. Definitely was not a good experience first time.

Yelp
WORSE SERVICE EVER. I'd give zero stars if I could. Not sure if it was due to racism or what (just FYI I'm black), but I waited an hour for a meal and during that time, I had to order my meal twice (food never actually came so I left after others who arrived after me received their meals). I don't even usually write restaurant reviews, but it was so bad that I was motivated to download the yelp app to warn people about this lousy excuse for a "restauant" and tell people to avoid this place at all costs!!!

Yelp
Ok. With the caveat that I've never had hot pot before, I will say that I enjoyed this very much. I was getting my car fixed nearby and was starving and needed a place I could walk to. The staff was very welcoming and happy to help out someone who had no idea what they were doing (me). It's buffet style. You pick out your broth base and then proceed to pick out your meats, veggies, noodles, etc to add to the broth. I felt like the selection was really good. They also had egg roll appetizers and some sweet rolls (kind of like Nigerian puff puff) but you dip it in condensed milk. Both soup bases (the spicy and non-spicy) were really good. I had a great time and I would definitely go back. When I reported my experience to friends who are more experienced with hot pot, they told me that the non-buffet places are better. That makes total sense to me, but for the hospitality I got as a hot pot newbie, I'm still giving it 5 stars.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best hot pot places in town. Though not yet AYCE, I was told yesterday that the restaurant may try to implement an AYCE option next month, with a small sauce station! So the broth here is what makes it so special. Boiled for 6-8 hours, the flavorful broth is what separates this place from the rest of the hot pot joints. It is true the broth is so flavorful that no sauce is needed. I think the sauce stations these days are trendy, so I told the server it's essential if the restaurant wants to compete with other places. Business is noticeably slower these days, and I think a lot of it is because currently there is no AYCE option. Also, it wasn't cold outside or raining, so not really hot pot kind of weather. Also, parking can be a pain at Eden. For what you get, this place is really awesome. It's not bad because I can get full off of $30 worth of a la cart items, compared to what it'd cost at an AYCE place. Come here for hot pot if you're in the mood for good quality, delicious broth and ingredients!

Yelp
First time doing a hotpot restaurant especially on vacation. I learned that Washington DC is a hot bed for Asian communities and restaurants. And so, my friend had recommended coming here after visiting the Steven Udvar Hazy center near the Washington Dulles international airport for dinner that night. I didn't mind the hotpot but it was an interesting departure from what I'm used to. Still, it was a good experience here, other than my friend paying for the meal. Lol The restaurant was busy when my friends and I walked in and we had to put our group on the wait list to be seated! During the wait, we browsed the many ingredients that they had to dip into the broths. We do have Happy Lamb hotpot back home in Honolulu, so the concept is not new to me. We eventually got seated in the back of the restaurant and ordered the original and spicy broths. The restaurant itself was clean and it's nice that it was busy on a Thursday evening in January 2023. I wasn't sure about the WiFi connection but I had to tether my phone with my friends so I could stay anchored at the location for Pokémon Go. We basically ordered a lot of meat in the interim and throughout the course of the meal, we shared conversations and life experiences with each other over dinner. All three of us ended up going 3x for additional ingredients to put into the broths and the server refilled the broths twice before we ended the meal feeling full and satisfied. Quite awesome actually. The overall experience here at the Happy Lamb Hot pot in Washington DC was nice and fun, while being casual dining at the same time. I did enjoy the selection of the assorted extras that they had for every customer, including the shrimps and the fish fillets. I also had the tofu cold and didn't put it into the broth. We must've ordered 2 rounds of meat from the menu and we really brought our appetites for sure. The soda fountain for drinks was a cool touch, although I had to make several trips to refill my cup with ice and drink of choice. A bit annoyed when we were seated way in the back of the restaurant but it is what it is. Lessons learned for ordering the spicy broth and too much of a good thing leaves your mouth not tolerant of the spicy broth anymore. The service here was nice and friendly, while being casual and funny at the same time. The enjoyable part of the meal was seeing my friend trying to ninja the check away from us and gave the server her credit card before the rest of us got our credit cards out to satisfy the check. It was cool to see that they had a regular menu for meats and a premium menu for it as well. Obviously one set is cheaper than the other but they all really do taste the same when it's soaked in broth, but that's just me. And so, if you are a hotpot junkie and are in the Washington DC area, consider coming to Happy Lamb hot pot restaurant. It's always a happy time with friends and families. This Happy Lamb hot pot restaurant is located at X Main Street in Washington DC. They accept major credit cards, which is a great thing as well as cash. I was glad that I didn't have lunch that day due to travel to Washington DC, so I could put away a lot more during dinner at Happy Lamb hot pot. Lol The food is fresh here and made to order. The turn over time for the additional ingredients tends to be quick, depending on the ingredient itself. For the most part though, it was a nice introduction to Washington DC, food wise and happy to return here if my travels permit me to do so in the future. I did enjoy the ambiance although we were seated in the back. Great for social distancing but a little hassle for getting more ingredients for your meal. As far as parking goes, they are situated in a strip mall, so parking can be limited but generous, depending on the time of day. Not sure about public transportation in the Washington DC area, but best bet would be to look online and find the best routes to get here. And so, if you love hotpot or something different than the usual fare, consider Happy Lamb hotpot in Washington DC. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.5 stars for the food and service. 3.0 stars for the pricing but its all you can eat. Support local! B

Yelp
Great place of great value. BEST hotpot in the DC-VA area. I was here 8-9 years ago and really enjoyed it. Visiting DC again and giving this a try. My Chinese stomach loves this. The hot pot has a very similar to what I used to have in inner Mongolian around 20 years ago. The all-you-can-eat setting is great as well. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for some authentic Chinese hot pot.

Yelp
Really big selection of options in terms of AYCE for hot pot! Will admit the place didn't seem the cleanest but they were packed so it makes sense. Service was also quite rushed but understandable since it was a huge dinner crowd when we went. Prices are quite cheap for AYCE!
