I went to Little Sheep for dinner with a friend. We came in on a Saturday night around 7 PM. It was very busy, but the wait was actually short - maybe 5-10 minutes. The host was friendly and our server was nice as well. We chose the full pot of spicy broth this time because we didn't like the mild broth when we did the half and half during our previous visit, as it was pretty bland.
This time, we knew exactly what we wanted to order and how the system works. But this time, I also realized that the number you write on the paper doesn't matter because you will still only get one order of that item as opposed to the three you requested. When you order from the meat section, the portions come out pretty big, so I've never had to order another round of fatty beef with just one eating partner. Also, the fresh thick noodles disappointed me last time as they weren't thick at all, so I ended up ordering udon noodles this time, and it was a much better experience.
When we got our broth, we scooped out most of the chili peppers this time so they didn't end up in our food when we ate it. If you want to doctor up your broth, there is a sauce bar near the complimentary soft serve ice cream machine. You can find sauces as well as garnishes like vinegar, chili paste, cilantro, and green onions. If you've never had hot pot, I recommend not cooking too much at once, that way nothing gets overcooked and rubbery. Also, just dip your meats yourself when you're ready to eat because they cook super fast while the water is constantly boiling. One thing I wish Little Sheep had was thai/ tom yum hot pot which is my favorite broth to eat with hot pot at home. Hot pot is a cool experience and it's good for groups since Little Sheep has bigger tables in sectioned off rooms as well as booths for the average party sizes.
