This place meets a lot of what I’m looking for in a 5 star food establishment: delicious healthy food, friendly and fast service, and aesthetic/chill ambiance. I ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and it definitely surprised me. It has so much flavor. It was about $20 which is still a lot for a single order in my opinion but I think it’s worth it. The bread it’s served on tastes like garlic naan bread. Roasted Cauliflower: 5/5

If you like decadence and outstanding flavors this is the place. The chef here understands gastronomy and how to delight taste buds! He obviously has passion for flavor and the culinary arts! Believe me when I say as a CEC this chef has put in the work to make people smile from enjoying his creations! I don't just endorse any restaurant. But this chef goes the extra mile and then some. From his tasty soups and sandwiches to the out of this world Passion fruit meringue (can you tell I love this 😍) I challenge you to try everything on the menu because you'll have my guarantee he will not disappoint, on the contrary the chef will make you wanting to try more and more and more!!

So delicious! Everything is so on point! Please don’t sleep on the Smoked Fish toast, it was bright and lemony yummy! Even the dessert was tasty! I can’t wait to go back and I hope youguys give this place a try and it’s worth the drive :)

Probably the best gluten free sandwich I’ve ever had! The staff was very helpful and made sure to ask if I was celiac or just gluten sensitive. We had the Classic Hoagie (not gf bread) and the turkey mozzarella, and pesto on their gluten free bread. 10/10 Supper good food and friendly staff!

Incredible food. We used to frequent them when they were based in LA I fell in love with their food. The first time I had the Muffuletta it changed my life. While their new Calimesa restaurant is a bit of a drive it’s absolutely worth it. If you live anywhere remotely nearby and love delicious food then I implore you to check out Happy Mediums. Bonnie and Shea and the whole team are wonderful and I’m always impressed by the dishes. From the deceptively simple ham and butter sandwich and the aforementioned life changing muffuletta to their toasts and salads, everything is made perfectly. Also get the passion fruit tart. You’ll thank me later.

Cozy and intimate neighborhood sandwich shop offering a good selection of breakfast and lunch items. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Sandwiches are delicious and an excellent portion, enough for two if you’re willing to share. Looking forward to returning soon.

Let’s start a simple sandwich shop but blow everyone away by making each simple item on the menu turn out to be the best they ever had. That’s what Happy Mediums has done! Best Reuben I’ve ever had! Best roasted eggplant sandwich I’ve ever had! This place is a Michelin star going incognito as a sandwich shop - the level of craft is very very high. Thanks for bringing this gem to our community!

I’ve been coming to Happy Medium’s for almost a year. Maybe once per month or so. The owners and staff are ridiculously friendly. Always giving me free food trying to get me to try something new on their menu. Always asking for my feedback. The chef is amazing. I heard he worked at several Michelin Star restaurants in Chicago. The food is fresh, made with high quality ingredients, and played so beautifully every time. Always consistent and I always run into some friends or make friends with new people here. Can’t wait to come back again and again. Also, the passion fruit pie is to die for! Not sure if it’s seasonal, but get it while it’s still available!

Fresh and delicious! A small place with a limited menu but cannot beat it for well presented, delicious food. I had the muffuletta sandwich, it tasted fresh with beautiful flavoring. It was pricey, $19+ for just the sandwich, no sides. Was it worth it? Yes! But will not be able to go as often as I would like with that price tag.

I'm driving from LA to Palm Springs and used yelp to find this place. The food service and the ambience are killer. Gabriel was super friendly. Music was good. The accommodated my picky order with a smile. I met owners and while not sure on her name, she was extremely awesome. I see why this place is top-notch. 5 Place is amazing and a great place to stop on the way to Palm Springs if you don't live around here I would Stop in. I missed the breakfast, but hopefully I'll get that next time. Good place for sure!!!

Stopped by this small brunch spot in Calimesa next to Village Bread last weekend and it was pretty good. It's not easy to find places like this in the area with creative menus and quality ingredients. We decided to go with the grain bowl (tasty with good mix of components), ricotta toast (never had asparagus and herbs with ricotta before, it works!), and the smashed potato (horseradish crema goes well with perfectly prepared potato). They even gave us a free slice of passion fruit pie since it was our first time there - very delicious!

Fantastic sandwich, fantastic pie, fantastic service. Super cute shop with good music and great lighting. I want to come back and try all their Sammies.

Once a month happy mediums serves food at The Overland in Redlands, on Monday nights. The BF and I, as well as my friends listened to vinyl records and ordered one of everything on the menu. Cocktails may have been involved .

Amazing fresh friendly sandwich shop! I recommend the Ruben. My husband had the hoagie and enjoy it very much. Good bread!

We finally tried Happy Mediums after hearing so much about it (we frequently visit Village Bread and Lucid Coffee). I tried the breakfast sandwich with the sausage, it was good but next time I would try it with the bacon. The bread was soft and delicious, but could have used more aioli sauce. My partner tried the pimento cheese sandwich. I would come back and try something else.

Wonderful brunch with my mom and super delicious meal. Got my pimento sandwich hot and grilled versus cold. They have gluten free bread for my mom since she needs that. The crispy potato flavors sOoooo good.

Happy Mediums has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and everything else I've tried has been delicious. One reason their sandwiches (I've had the muffaletta and classic hoagie and tried the roasted cauliflower) is that they use Village Bread products (if you haven't been, run across the way and get something, you won't regret it). The sandwiches are filling and you'll be thinking about them long after you've eaten. Also, the first time I went I told the person at the counter that I hadn't been before and he gave me a complimentary slice of passion fruit pie. It would have been worth going just for that. Support a high-quality, friendly local place!

Food was fantastic and flavorful! Service was awesome! Very friendly and welcoming, took time to describe things and answer our questions. We will definitely be back. The avocado toast was the best I've ever had. The passion fruit pie was delicious and so flavorful. Family members also enjoyed the smoked fish toast and the Ruben. We will definitely be back!

Ahhhh finally a local spot that feels like you're having brunch in downtown Redlands. The vibes, food, and service here - how lucky to be so close to a gem like this. There were lots of vegetarian and healthy options as well which we appreciated since there are not many local restaurants nearby that gives such a variety of options. We ordered an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich, and grain bowl for our first visit. Each item just felt very well thought out, fresh, and you can just tell by the way the dishes were presented that food is a passion for the masterminds behind these dishes. I loved that that while their focaccia bread was made in house, they used the bread from Village Bakery a few stores down as well (definitely appreciate a small business who also supports other small businesses!). We also got to try a slice of passion fruit pie which the owner, Shay, said he gave to all first time customers and OMG AMAZING!! I have never tasted anything like that before with such vibes flavors and for sure, will be ordering this delicious treat again. My family and I will definitely be back at Happy Mediums to support a small business that chose to open their doors locally in Calimesa. Looking forward to trying other options in the menu in the near future!

This is my fourth time here, it's become my new favorite place. The dishes are amazing, a real chiefs kiss! And the staff is so friendly. The ambiance is quiet and quaint.

ABSOLUTE AMAZING eatery in calimesa! I tried their Brussels sprouts ceasar salad, grain bowl, avocado toast, and passion fruit tart. Every single item was incredibly delicious! Perfectly balanced in flavors and textures, this place does it right! You can taste how high quality their ingredients are and each dish is made with love! I was blown away by their passion fruit tart with a buttery graham cracker crust, perfectly sweet and tart passion fruit filling and a torched meringue on top. This tart will live rent free in my mind. Please support this local eatery, you won't be disappointed! There's free parking in their lot and the prices are amazing!

YUM! My husband and I were pleased to learn about Happy Mediums while we were at Village Bakery. The sandwiches here are quality! They don't skimp on anything. I loved the ham and butter, and my husband said the muffuletta was amazing. We can't wait to try more! Service here is super friendly, you can tell they are passionate about what they do, and they are excited for you to be there. The inside is cheery, bright, and clean. Plenty of parking available, too! Great shop, great location.

Our food was amazing! One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. We got it with a sausage patty, & the aioli was perfect. We also got the muffaletta, which had such refreshing flavors. The service was amazing as well, you could tell how knowledgeable the staff was about the menu & they made sure everything was perfect. Will definitely recommend this place & absolutely have to come back to try the desserts, they looked amazing but we were too full to try them!

Best spot is the table by the window, good spot to hang out alone or with a friend. Sandwich portions are big and you could easily share.... If you're willing to share. This will definitely be my go to place for delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, dessert and lemonade.

A local gem We ordered a few sandwiches to-go and everything was absolutely delicious! The pimento cheese sandwich is full of flavor and just melts in your mouth, the ham and butter sandwich is perfect in every way, and the muffaleta is impressive in size, beautifully put together,0 and packed with flavor. All of the ingredients are spectacular and the locally sourced bread from Village Bakery located a few doors down is an absolute plus! Can't wait to return!

Service was great. Small cozy spot with about 3 small table, yet the employees would still bring out the food to everyone eating inside, refilled coffee, and were all very polite. Food: had the breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. Both very fresh and tasty. Love the fennel on avocado toast and sourdough for the sandwich was delicious. Very tasty aioli/mayo type of sauce on the sandwich. Overall, great little gem. Bit pricey but the quality ingredients and tasty recipes are worth it for me. I feel the love in the food. Will definitely come back to try other items.

Happy Mediums Café is everything a great café should be--warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. I came in for a quick bite and ended up finding my new favorite spot. Let's talk food: the menu is thoughtful and creative, but the real standout for me was the muffuletta. Hands down, the best I've had outside of New Orleans. The bread was perfectly crusty, the olive salad was tangy and rich, and the meats were layered just right. I'm still thinking about it days later. The service was just as memorable as the food. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind--everyone there made me feel like I was a regular, even on my first visit. They took the time to explain the menu, check in at just the right moments, and seemed to truly care that I was enjoying myself. And then there's the people--both staff and patrons. There's a community feel here that's rare. It's the kind of place where conversations flow easily, and it's not unusual to see the owners chatting with guests or someone buying an extra pastry "just because." Happy Mediums Café is one of those rare spots where everything clicks: the food, the vibe, the people. Do yourself a favor--go try that muffuletta. You can thank me later.

So bomb. $19 for a sandwich is a little steep but I love seeing more small businesses in town!

This place is delicious! I got the corned beef sandwich and the flavors are AMAZING! Please keep it on the menu! We always go to village bread on the weekend and now this will be added to our weekly stop as well! Very clean and the happy yellow color inside makes me want to just stay in there all day! I'm already excited for my next visit!

Two different people raved about the AVOCADO TOAST at this place, and I concur....ingredients are seasoned perfectly, fresh dill garnish. Breakfast sandwich which my husband ordered was tasty. The chef/owner is a delightful person who engaged in conversation with us and treated us to "First Time Customer" slice of the Passion Fruit pie which is superb. I appreciated coffee and water served in washable, re-usable containers instead of the omnipresent styrofoam or plastic. I'm sure we'll return and also recommend to others.

What an amazing find! My wife and I just had the pictured dishes and they were so delicious! The breads are baked in house and the flavors come through so well. We also ordered the butternut squash soup and beet/zataar dip. Everything was simply delicious and had a healthy high quality taste! This is a gem that will please everyone!!

Food was so good! I got the roasted cauliflower sandwich and their house made wrap was amazing. Staff were very helpful giving food suggestions and the interior was super cute! We were also given a slice of passion fruit pie for being first timers! Going to Coachella in a couple months and will definitely make a note to stop back here!

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Three of us ordered three different meals and everything was excellent. The ingredients are so fresh and it's obvious that everything is handmade with lots of love. Their brick and mortar establishment is very new, but I'm already looking forward to a time when they are able to expand so I can bring everyone I know! The food is complex and delicious. There are multiple layers of ingredients with a sophisticated finish. It's special occasion food with a gorgeous humility.

The food is fabulous! Each selection I've had (grain bowl, smoked fish toast, sandwich, both desserts) has been outstanding. Easy to order online and pick up, or, fine to eat in.

Everything was exemplar. From the food to the service. Everything is made fresh with the finest of ingredients. The butternut tumeric soup with a drizzle of balsamic on top was heavenly! The roasted cauliflower sandwich with home made flat bread was so delicious! And the avocado toast with spiced feta was incredible. I think because we came late (closing is at 3) they even gave us some passion Fruit Pie with graham cracker crust which was out of this world. All of the dishes had amazing flavor profiles. Apparently two chefs in the kitchen had gone to culinary schools and worked in some of the finest restaurants but came back to Calimesa. You must try this place. I'm sorry to give such a glowing review because next time i may have to wait longer in line to get a table. Oh there is only about four tables in the restaurant but everything is very clean. You must try this place. Oh yes, the lemon spritzer was refreshing!

What a great find! Their food is unique and healthy and high on flavor and texture. Absolutely delicious! We had quite a few dishes, loved the Caesar salad , the Roasted Cauliflower focaccia flat bread sandwich, the scrumptious Butternut Squash soup along with Pimiento Cheese sandwich. The Valentines appetizer with Burrata cheese complimented by blood orange, beets, etc was amazing flavor! If that wasn't enough we splurged on a dessert of tasty bread tartine with preserves and ricotta based cream! Oh man was that good! Then we tried the Passion Fruit Pie with the purest passion fruit flavor with graham crumble crust and meringue. This was my absolute favorite! Overall the place is pleasant and friendly, like the chef and his wife! Lovely people! Give their business some love!

Absolutely amazing food here...down to the tropical tasting iced tea and the fruity coffee! Highly recommend the two sandwiches we split: the dreamy roasted cauliflower sandwich on an herby foccacia flatbread that I think is up there with my all time favorite sandos ever, and the hot pimento cheese which we also loved. Couldn't get over the picked apples and extra dill on it. Don't sleep on the passion fruit pie! Cannot WAIT to return and eat the whole menu!!!

Went there for the first time today. The owners are wonderful they suggested to try the avocado toast. Was wonderful the best I've had. there's a lot of flavor going on there but wonderful. I will be back and don't forget the coffee store next to them!

I am very scrutinizing when it comes to new places and new concepts because so often times they just do not work. This place is a gem of all gems. I am thoroughly impressed with every item that my family and I ordered. The quality of food and the creativity literally blows my mind. I need to mention that the passionfruit pie is by far the best dessert I've ever had in my entire life on this planet!!!

This is THE best brunch place. Mom and pop shop, recently became a brick and mortar but very recently was a just a pop up! The chef has gourmet experience and tries to bring gourmet style to masses and it's a 10/10. They have worked hard to bring Happy Mediums to Calimesa and it is the #1 new place I am recommending my friends, coworkers and strangers! Everything is amazing, get the Fish Toast, they source a lot of their bread from the fresh bread daily Village Bread next door, or they make it themselves (focaccia for mufuletta for example). Love everything they have - passion fruit tart, mufuletta, Burrata appetizer, crudite appetizer, the fresh orange juice, coffee from next door neighbor Lucid coffee roasters. Stop reading and just order online, it'll be ready when you get there :) Next goal of mine is to have them cater a big life event! Their website mentions they can craft special menus which is amazing

I decided to try this spot, and I am so glad I did. Everyone was very friendly and the food was amazing. It's refreshing to find a nice little sandwich shop with vegetarian/vegan options. I ended up coming back here with family and can't wait to go again.

The food is fantastic with unique flavors. The service is polite and friendly. The ambiance of the tiny restaurant is average. The only note is the cook aprons were dirty. We will be back. We will probably do takeout most of the time.

Much needed breakfast and lunch spot in the area We tried the farro bowl, Caesar salad and was graciously given to try the passionfruit pie. Everything was super tasty and love having real plates and silverware to eat on. The service and food here was amazing! I got the pimiento sandwich and my partner got the roasted cauliflower wrap. I'm someone who doesn't not usually order vegetarian options but I would 100% take the roasted cauliflower as my go to order. We also stopped for coffee at Lucid and apparently they bake the bread fresh and you can taste the quality. We stopped for a casual bite to eat on our way home and are so sad we can't make this a neighborhood go to eatery!! Also they gave us free passion fruit pie since it was our first time

Outrageous food! The flavors and creativity are unmatched in the area. The flavors and sauces are incredible. Love their vibe!! We also go to The Overland in Redlands for the monthly Bangarang for their incredible food(as well as the wine). Happy Mediums does the food and Hermman York does the wine. Service is ALWAYS spot on as well. Highly, highly recommend!!!

So glad to see Happy Mediums open up their brick and mortar. Everything I have had from them is so great. Really go out of their way to do the simple and difficult things right. Their Muffuletta sandwich is so good I can never put it down. The ham & butter sandwich is simple but everything ingredient adds another level of taste to the sandwich. Really really great stuff coming out of Happy Mediums. Will be back again and again.
