Happy Mediums

Absolutely stellar dining experience. Happy Mediums is definitely a gem of the Inland Empire. Food was on another level, flavors balanced and bold, textures perfect. A lot of thought and care put into each dish. Everything we tried was delectable and I did not want to leave any morsels. Friendly staff as well.

THIS WAS THE MEAL OF MY LIFEEE and if a restaurant EVER deserved 5 stars this is the one. The atmosphere is your first impression and it’s a very pleasant one. The service was kind and welcoming. BUT THE FOOOOOOD man the food was incredible. We got the avocado toast, passion fruit pie, and breakfast sandwich. Will definitely be coming back for more.

The fact that this spot is a true 5-star establishment, with literally no reviews under 5-stars should be reason enough to check it out. HOWEVER, the food, service, and atmosphere, even in this simple cafe are completely worth it. We ordered the dip plate, the tri-tip sandwich, the roasted cauliflower sandwich, and the bread pudding. As other's have noted, if it's your first time, you're offered a free slice of passion fruit pie. DO NOT DECLINE THIS PIE. It is INCREDIBLE. The dip plate was a surprise. It comes with their herbed flatbread, a "smokey carrot dip" (very much a hummus consistency), and crudite. THe one thing I would suggest is that they mention they put almonds on top of the dip, as it could be an allergy for some. Otherwise, the dip was delicious, the flatbread tasty, with great tooth chew and well herbed, and the crudite was exceptionally fresh. I asked the staff what they recommended from the menu, and was told the roasted cauliflower sandwich was a 'sleeper', and goodness were they not lying. RICH with flavor and textures, this decadent and filling item comes on their homemade flatbread almost like an open-faced sandwich. But it was easily 'taco'd' for ease of eating. I don't even know all of the ingredients but what an absolute flavor bomb in your mouth. Just incredible. My lunch date ordered the tri-tip sandwich and said it was very tasty, although he shared wishing the meat wasn't cold. Finally, the desserts were just the cherry on top of the entire experience. While the breadpudding was delicious, the true star of dessert was the free slice of passion fruit pie. The crust was buttery, flaky and perfectly thick, and the passion fruit 'filling' was heavenly. So rich, fluffy and decadent! I will definitely be coming back and encourage anyone passing through to give them a visit! This spot is genuinely worth making a trek for!

Happy Mediums has the best sandwich I’ve had so far in the IE! I got the tri-tip sandwich and was absolutely blown away. I told myself I’d save it for when I got home, but I ended up eating half of it in the car, it was that good. The sandwich was beautiful and generously filled, and the combination of flavors from the pasilla, garlic aioli, cilantro, and orange was truly artisanal. My only small qualm was the ciabatta bread. I wish it had a bit more crunch instead of being entirely soft. Overall, I’ll definitely be back! I’m already excited to try the mozzarella and pesto sandwich next time!

I world definitely recommend. I soak they open in Florida. Omg so much delicious options for veggie lovers.Flat bread with roasted cauliflower must try and avocado toast.Won't disappoint.

A gem in Calimesa. I tried the muffuletta and it was... perfection! Hands down the best. We also had their house salad and passion fruit pie which were phenomenal. Fresh ingredients. Chill vibe.

Tiny place with fantastic food. There were too many things to try so I'll have to go back. My friend had the smashed potato with horseradish, an (enormous) house salad and papaya tart. I had the smoked fish tartine (with capers and pickled lemons) and the bread pudding (served with lemon curd and basil). Everything was delicious. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. This is a gem.

Shea helped me put together a lovely menu for a corporate breakfast I was hosting and my team loved it. Everything was delivered on time. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Passion fruit pie, french toast pudding, fresh fruit, fresh coffee and assorted breakfast sandwiches. Thank you Shea and Bonnie!

Halfway through my Breakfast sandwich, I was already planning my next visit! The food was delicious, so fresh tasting. We also had the Muffuletta sandwich. They offer this one as a half, but get the whole so you have another one to enjoy the next day. Also, because we were first time guests, they included a slice of the passion fruit pie. Wow! It was tangy and creamy. So good! The service was friendly and welcomed. The space is small but very comfortable. Guests were kind about moving on and cleaning up after themselves so you can grab a table. Like I said, when can we make another visit to Happy Mediums?

Our visit was absolutely soul nourishing in every way imaginable! Walking in the eatery, it's humbly artistic. From the moment we walked in, the warmth embraced my partner and I. We were greeted with great enthusiasm and calmness at the ordering counter. Upon looking over the menu, we noticed the simplicity and intentionality. I ordered the grain bowl. Partner ordered the breakfast sandwich. We shared the passion fruit pie.. and literally, with every bite tears began swell. This place meets a lot of what I'm looking for in a 5 star food establishment: delicious healthy food, friendly and fast service, and aesthetic/chill ambiance. I ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and it definitely surprised me. It has so much flavor. It was about $20 which is still a lot for a single order in my opinion but I think it's worth it. The bread it's served on tastes like garlic naan bread. Roasted Cauliflower: 5/5

We went back when we were in town and it's as good as last time! My partner and I shared the classic hoagie which is enough for 2 people. I also ordered the crispy potato and we loved it! It was so good!!!!! Both were flavorful and yummy.

Wonderful little cafe. Clean modern decor. Friendly and helpful service. We had the reuben sandwich and the mozzarella pesto hot sandwich. Great value. Fresh and tasty. Got a free slice of passion fruit pie as first time customers and it was delicious not too sweet but just right. We will certainly be back

Cute little spot in Calimesa. With surprisingly healthy options. A small but intriguing menu. Cute, quaint and simple. Employees were nice, patient and knowledgeable. Decor is at a minimum. You can eat in but it's more of a pick up and go vibe.

Well I have found the hidden gem I our little town of Calimesa. This place is amazing the friendly people and the food is great. Fresh baked breads. Everything is delicious and made with lots of love. This is a must stop if you are in the mood for some delicious food with a little hospitality.

It's a small cafe with minimal seating , but the service is friendly service the staff is very helpful. I had the avocado toast my first time. Went back for more just a week later. Also enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee.

Stopped by this small brunch spot in Calimesa next to Village Bread last weekend and it was pretty good. It's not easy to find places like this in the area with creative menus and quality ingredients. We decided to go with the grain bowl (tasty with good mix of components), ricotta toast (never had asparagus and herbs with ricotta before, it works!), and the smashed potato (horseradish crema goes well with perfectly prepared potato). They even gave us a free slice of passion fruit pie since it was our first time there - very delicious!

Once a month happy mediums serves food at The Overland in Redlands, on Monday nights. The BF and I, as well as my friends listened to vinyl records and ordered one of everything on the menu. Cocktails may have been involved .

Had the best Avocado Toast!! What a cute little spot!! Came after apple picking to grab some lunch and the food was great and I really appreciate you guys hand picking the eggs firmer eggs for me- it was truly the perfect toast. My friend has a gluten allergy and they were really accommodating, which we really appreciated. Truly worth checking out, I can't wait to go back. Thank you!

WOW! This place is amazing! If you like unique and fresh flavors this is the spot! I had the Tri tip, my 7yo had the sausage breakfast and my 9yo the muffaletta sandwich. Each one was perfect and the kids really enjoyed all the flavors. We received a complimentary slice of passion fruit pie and again amazing. Price may seem high but it's really not for what you're getting. I'm so glad to have found this spot and will be coming back.

I went back today. It was incredible. I just can't describe how amazing their cauliflower flatbread sandwich was. It boggles the mind.

My wife has a gluten allergy, so we asked for the gluten free sourdough bread when we ordered the tri tip and muffaletta sandwiches. We shared the sandwiches, they were both amazing. They even took to time to confirm it was an allergy, not just a preference. Would highly recommend

Bar none-- one of the best restaurants in SoCal. Just had a friend in from LBC and he was blown away. The food is unmatched-- and Shea and the team are excellent hosts. I've tried the coffee, breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, smoked trout, French toast, crispy potatoes, and the passion fruit pie. All EXCELLENT. Special shout out to the crispy potatoes though. I go to bed at night thinking about them sometimes.

ABSOLUTE AMAZING eatery in calimesa! I tried their Brussels sprouts ceasar salad, grain bowl, avocado toast, and passion fruit tart. Every single item was incredibly delicious! Perfectly balanced in flavors and textures, this place does it right! You can taste how high quality their ingredients are and each dish is made with love! I was blown away by their passion fruit tart with a buttery graham cracker crust, perfectly sweet and tart passion fruit filling and a torched meringue on top. This tart will live rent free in my mind. Please support this local eatery, you won't be disappointed! There's free parking in their lot and the prices are amazing!

YUM! My husband and I were pleased to learn about Happy Mediums while we were at Village Bakery. The sandwiches here are quality! They don't skimp on anything. I loved the ham and butter, and my husband said the muffuletta was amazing. We can't wait to try more! Service here is super friendly, you can tell they are passionate about what they do, and they are excited for you to be there. The inside is cheery, bright, and clean. Plenty of parking available, too! Great shop, great location.

Cozy and intimate neighborhood sandwich shop offering a great selection of breakfast and lunch selections. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Best spot is the table by the window, good spot to hang out alone or with a friend. Sandwich portions are big and you could easily share.... If you're willing to share. This will definitely be my go to place for delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, dessert and lemonade.

Our food was amazing! One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. We got it with a sausage patty, & the aioli was perfect. We also got the muffaletta, which had such refreshing flavors. The service was amazing as well, you could tell how knowledgeable the staff was about the menu & they made sure everything was perfect. Will definitely recommend this place & absolutely have to come back to try the desserts, they looked amazing but we were too full to try them!

A local gem We ordered a few sandwiches to-go and everything was absolutely delicious! The pimento cheese sandwich is full of flavor and just melts in your mouth, the ham and butter sandwich is perfect in every way, and the muffaleta is impressive in size, beautifully put together,0 and packed with flavor. All of the ingredients are spectacular and the locally sourced bread from Village Bakery located a few doors down is an absolute plus! Can't wait to return!

Wonderful brunch with my mom and super delicious meal. Got my pimento sandwich hot and grilled versus cold. They have gluten free bread for my mom since she needs that. The crispy potato flavors sOoooo good.

Ahhhh finally a local spot that feels like you're having brunch in downtown Redlands. The vibes, food, and service here - how lucky to be so close to a gem like this. There were lots of vegetarian and healthy options as well which we appreciated since there are not many local restaurants nearby that gives such a variety of options. We ordered an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich, and grain bowl for our first visit. Each item just felt very well thought out, fresh, and you can just tell by the way the dishes were presented that food is a passion for the masterminds behind these dishes. I loved that that while their focaccia bread was made in house, they used the bread from Village Bakery a few stores down as well (definitely appreciate a small business who also supports other small businesses!). We also got to try a slice of passion fruit pie which the owner, Shay, said he gave to all first time customers and OMG AMAZING!! I have never tasted anything like that before with such vibes flavors and for sure, will be ordering this delicious treat again. My family and I will definitely be back at Happy Mediums to support a small business that chose to open their doors locally in Calimesa. Looking forward to trying other options in the menu in the near future!

LOVE this place!! It's my new favorite quick breakfast stop. Their avocado toast is absolutely delicious and actually filling. Everyone who works here is so welcoming and friendly! It's also so cute inside! You have the option of dining in or take out. Went here 2 days in a row and I'll definitely be a regular now :)

I'm driving from LA to Palm Springs and used yelp to find this place. The food service and the ambience are killer. Gabriel was super friendly. Music was good. The accommodated my picky order with a smile. I met owners and while not sure on her name, she was extremely awesome. I see why this place is top-notch. 5 Place is amazing and a great place to stop on the way to Palm Springs if you don't live around here I would Stop in. I missed the breakfast, but hopefully I'll get that next time. Good place for sure!!!

The menu - every single offering is from the sandwiches to the toasts to the salads to the desserts- no one will be disappointed. Every single dietary restriction/preference is the kitchen's priority. The cleanest happiest atmosphere you will ever find. Service will never disappoint. I can't say enough!!

We as a community MUST protect this gem at all costs. Ever since my wife and I discovered happy mediums, it has become a favorite of ours. Coming to the shopping center on the weekend, getting a matcha from lucid, and coming to HM to enjoy their delicious food, amazing customer service, meticulously curated playlists, and overall vibey ambiance is something that we genuinely look forward to and Notably miss when we're unable to make it. I genuinely have been hoping they purchase the vacant space next door so that they can build and expand to their already dope aesthetic. We moved to Beaumont a few years back and our biggest bone to pick with the area was the lack of delicious food options but HM has definitely filled that void. Prices might "seem" high until you actually try the food; then you immediately taste the freshness, quality, and love thats put into their dishes. I've tried almost everything on the menu and can honestly say that everything is delicious and unique in its own right (mufaletta, roasted cauliflower, and the potato dish are all top tier). Shea is a super cool guy who always shares a smile, says hello, and makes sure we're enjoying our meal whenever he sees us. Definitely grateful to have a place like this in our back yard !

Owners are super friendly. Really impressed with the quality of food and service. The owners are from Chicago and worked at fancy restaurants there. He brought his flare to this little town for sure. I can't wait to go back to taste his creations.

Fresh and delicious! A small place with a limited menu but cannot beat it for well presented, delicious food. I had the muffuletta sandwich, it tasted fresh with beautiful flavoring. It was pricey, $19+ for just the sandwich, no sides. Was it worth it? Yes! But will not be able to go as often as I would like with that price tag.

Service was great. Small cozy spot with about 3 small table, yet the employees would still bring out the food to everyone eating inside, refilled coffee, and were all very polite. Food: had the breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. Both very fresh and tasty. Love the fennel on avocado toast and sourdough for the sandwich was delicious. Very tasty aioli/mayo type of sauce on the sandwich. Overall, great little gem. Bit pricey but the quality ingredients and tasty recipes are worth it for me. I feel the love in the food. Will definitely come back to try other items.

This place is delicious! I got the corned beef sandwich and the flavors are AMAZING! Please keep it on the menu! We always go to village bread on the weekend and now this will be added to our weekly stop as well! Very clean and the happy yellow color inside makes me want to just stay in there all day! I'm already excited for my next visit!

Wow!!! I had enjoyed Happy Medium back when they were doing pop ups. I was in Calimesa and saw their permanent location. I got the muffeletta. I love sandwiches. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever enjoyed. The giardiniera was so fresh. They must make it in house. The bread it was on was homemade-it was pure bliss. They have grain bowls, toasts, homemade pie and more. I can't stop thinking about the food.

So I had a bit of time to kill in Calimesa this morning and I ran across this little place . I walked in not sure what to order , so I figured you can't go wrong with avocado toast. Let me tell you it was amazing, so full of flavors . The to Gentlemen there where very nice , music was great . I really enjoyed myself just sitting there eating. I will definitely be back

This place is spectacular. The place is small but, comfortable to dine-in. We had an amazing person who was attentive and welcoming. The food was so tasty and not just a regular sandwich. It had different components, texture and flavor to it and I recommend 10/10!!

What an amazing find! My wife and I just had the pictured dishes and they were so delicious! The breads are baked in house and the flavors come through so well. We also ordered the butternut squash soup and beet/zataar dip. Everything was simply delicious and had a healthy high quality taste! This is a gem that will please everyone!!

Two different people raved about the AVOCADO TOAST at this place, and I concur....ingredients are seasoned perfectly, fresh dill garnish. Breakfast sandwich which my husband ordered was tasty. The chef/owner is a delightful person who engaged in conversation with us and treated us to "First Time Customer" slice of the Passion Fruit pie which is superb. I appreciated coffee and water served in washable, re-usable containers instead of the omnipresent styrofoam or plastic. I'm sure we'll return and also recommend to others.
