Google
Greta atmosphere and vibe, and the variety of unique coffee drinks is amazing. We tried the Grandma’s Bag and the Lumberjack, which were fantastic. We also had the raspberry donut which was to die for. Def recommend.

Google
Actually the best coffee I've had in Chicago!! I got an iced mocha and it was a delicious balance of coffee, milk, and chocolate goodness. The barista was also very sweet. I was there on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't busy; I was in and out in 5 minutes.

Google
Cute and trendy coffee shop in the heart of downtown. I had the Thyme is Honey and it was served in a cute bear cup. They partner with a local bakery and the donuts were scrumptious! The filled one was a sweet treat. Would like to return to try other drinks and snacks on the menu.

Google
Visited Happy Monday on a Monday and I was in for a big pleasant surprise. It was very busy and the girl working was still very pleasant despite how busy she was. I had a bee latte and she recommended it iced as her preference and it was absolutely delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich and bag of chips and enjoyed every bite of the sandwich. My feedback would be considering a light salad to go with the sandwich but overall was delicious! I’d love to recommend this coffee shop. I think it’s always very busy but my food and drinks came out fast considering the big lines. Thank you for the experience Happy Monday!

Google
This place is a nice vibe but that’s all it has going for it, they only allowed me to order from a kiosk which was confusing for someone who’s never been there. I ordered a coffee that I thought was a normal size came out to be a shot of espresso size… the food was cold in the inside on both the ham croissant and the bagel egg sandwich could not recommend this place at all

Google
I recently visited this coffee shop, and I have to say, it’s hands down the best I’ve tried in Chicago so far! I’ve been to many coffee spots around the city, but this one really stands out. I ordered two coffees, and both were absolutely perfect—smooth, flavorful, and just the right temperature. What really made the experience special, though, was the barista. She was incredibly friendly and patient, taking the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and never rushing me, unlike some other spots where you can feel hurried. If you’re reading this review and considering whether or not to give it a try—just go. Don’t overthink it. You won’t regret it. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the coffee is top-notch. I’m definitely coming back again!

Google
First time here , the place is cute. They have a nice variety of coffee options. We got the hot chocolate, the Spice Girls that's a seasonal coffee and two cheese omelettes. The hot chocolate was really watery. You couldn't even drink it. The cheese omelette was a big disappointment those were cold. the cheese had not even melted. The only thing warm was the bun and the omelette patty whatever they had was super cold the cheese was really bad. L We bought two and barely ate it. The only thing good was that spice girl coffee and I got otherwise it was a complete disappointment.

Google
Little coffee spot in the heart of downtown. I absolutely love the atmosphere and had a cinnamon roll with cream cheese that was so delicious and hot mocha. Nice and cozy spot highly recommend

Yelp
The omelette sandwiches are a decadent, flavorful option to start your day right! I loved the soft bread it was served on. The iced galleta is fantastic, nothing better than a bit of cookie butter! For a Saturday morning, it was relatively quiet and a great place to relax before starting the day. The women working were friendly, and I absolutely love the coffee here!

Yelp
There is some seating indoors, but can get packed and hard to find a spot. I ordered the Bee Sting and it has chili-infused honey, which was very different but interesting. My first sip, the chili was stronger than I thought, it stung my throat a bit (nothing serious, but you can feel the chili). The drink was interesting, but not for me. The chili-infused honey was too much for me, but interesting concept for a coffee drink. I'd come back and try something else again in the future. Recommendation(s): - None Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Accept Apple Pay - Limited indoor seating

Yelp
This place is so cute inside with nice chairs & unique interior. The barista working was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We loved both drinks we tried!! The grandma's bag latte was incredible and the ube purple haze was equally as good, just did not have coffee but you can add espresso to it. Loved it and would definitely go back to try more drinks here :)

Yelp
We were looking for a coffee shop and quick bites near jewelers row and were so pleasantly surprised to find this local coffee shop! Goddess and the grocer had long waits and we were able to be immediately served here! They had a nice tea selection and our drinks were great. We wished we'd come earlier, they were sold out of bakery items before we arrived. We did try their breakfast sandwich though and that hit the spot. The bun was soft and it had a sharp cheddar cheese, I loved it! My partner ate it, but would have preferred a milder cheese. The space is clean and inviting and they have some fun merch including mugs and cards available for purchase. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area. The exterior branding is subtle and easy to miss, and GPS can get wonky in that area - look for the faux hedges outside.

Yelp
Stopped by this cute cafe on a Saturday morning before my Pickleball practice. They have a limited but very creative drinks menu. I ordered Thyme is Honey which is a Cinnamon Iced Latte with Almond milk and it was so delicious. It is served in a cute bear plastic bottle that you can take along with you! The aesthetic of this place is modern, chic and classy. They just have undertones of white and gold which looked pretty good. They barely have any food options but a lot of creative drinks with ingredients like Ube or Kachava. Definitely coming back to try more drinks from them. They have a lot of seating space too. I spotted a lot of people just working from the cafe! Good spot in the city to enjoy your coffee and get some work done.

Yelp
I went in there very pretty slow. It was only me and a few other people in there and I was able to get my order right away. I haven't been here in a while so I took a look at the menu and got the purple haze. The staff was very nice. It was only one person in there so they did a pretty good job of getting things done pretty quickly which I loved. Super cute on the inside. I love quiet, coffee shops so this bar joy. I was gonna go ahead and work the rest of my workday from here but I had in office meetings
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday looking for a nice quiet place to get some work done and was SO happy to have found one here. The place is a comfortable size and there is enough seating that a good number of people can fit. I got their thyme latte which came in the most adorable bear cup! The latte was incredible and you could just taste a hint of thyme. I found the work space very comfortable and was able to be quite productive. Note that they don't have their own bathroom. Docking one star because it was ridiculously hot inside.

Yelp
It's not often you find a spot that truly lives up to its name, but Happy Monday in Chicago certainly does! This cozy little gem tucked away in the loop is a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done. I indulged in the Thyme IS Honey, a delightful concoction blending Honey, Almond Milk, and Cinnamon in an Iced Latte, garnished with a sprig of Thyme, all served in an adorable bear plastic glass. Accompanying this treat, I savored a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich nestled within a flaky croissant. Both were absolutely delightful and come highly recommended! The staff members were exceptionally amiable and attentive, offering helpful suggestions for food choices. Moreover, the preparation time was impressively swift, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Yelp
Kind of hidden, unless you know it's there. Such a lovely find. I would recommend this for a day of remote work or to catch up on a book, it was nice and quiet. Service was fast, even with a steady crowd. All of the drinks sound so tasty with some wonderful combos. I got the grandma's bag latte, iced, and it was delicious. The croissant tasted good, but it was a little hard.

Yelp
Strong 3 Stars. Nice place and good coffee. The coffee scene is aggressively competitive, and this is a MAJOR CITY, so expectations are high. I know. I'm from here. For the location and proximity to great transportation, I need this place to be more creative on improving the experience here so we can impress the locals and tourists with something spectacular! Keep up the good work, Happy Monday! You will get there! I'm rooting for you! Pay less attention to the social media buildup... it's temporary. Your true, core customers won't give you 5 stars outside of Yelp - and that's a problem. Don't put so much weight on that. Fact: Every 5 star reviewer for your establishment, orders Starbucks in the Loop during your Open hours. You must figure out where and how you're unique. You can do this! I'm a fan!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here and really enjoyed the coffee! These staff were patient and made all our drinks great.
google avatar

Mel D.

Yelp
Place was cute. Maybe I caught them on an off day, which I have sympathy for, but the woman working there was incredibly rude. No customer service at all. My drink was ok but not worth it, would not come back.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I'm staying at The Palmer House and was looking for a morning café with excellent matcha. This place has a blueberry matcha situation, and it is delicious! Not only was the drink good, but the vibes were great as well - they placed old school soul music. Service was excellent. I highly reccommend.
google avatar

LaTosha S.

Yelp
I enjoyed it so much the first time I had to go back the next day. I've added it to my favs for future Chicago visits and have already recommended. Each drink taste exactly as you'd expect based on the ingredients. And the little bear is so cute. You can have any drink put in it. You can even save the bear container and get a discount. The staff is great. So friendly. The shop is so cute. I say back and relaxed while I hopped on a zoom.
google avatar

Yelp
I liked the coffee. Small cafe so can get lil crowded over the weekend. Nice interior too. The teddy coffee is for take away or in cafe only. Can't order it online.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Hands down, this is one of my favorite coffee places. Their lattes are always so good. Very little seating and they have missed my pickup orders a couple of times. But I still give them five stars because the lattes are that good. Some baristas are nice, some meh. If you do manage to get a seat, it is a nice place to work at. Just don't get lost trying to find the bathroom Lattes I Have Tried & Recommend: Bee Sting The Birds & The Bees Horchata Latte Thyme is Honey (The Cutest!) Iced Chai with a Shot of Espresso Note: I haven't tried any of their infused or cbd products but I love that they seem to support small businesses by having their products to sell to their customers at Happy Monday!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love trying out local coffee shops when I'm in a new city, especially one like Chicago where the options are plentiful. The place is a little tucked away, but they make it easy with a sign directly in front of the shop if you look a bit. I opted for a Bee Sting and it was absolutely delicious...exactly what I was hoping for! I loved it so much I ended up bringing my husband the next day. Sadly, the second day the Bee Sting wasn't at all like the first day and was lacking flavor in all aspects. They were definitely busier the second day and seemed like they were rushing to keep up with the demand, but it was disappointing the consistency wasn't there. Overall, a cool place with unique options!
google avatar

Sydni M.

Yelp
We got the pumpkin latte with the marshmallow! It was amazing! The barista behind the bar was super kind! Inside was clean and quiet.
google avatar

Kit C.

Yelp
I tried the "id date myself" which was made with red date- they definitely have some super creative name Ns recipes for their coffee selections! The cafe itself is decorated nicely and cozy. If we weren't on our way somewhere else, I wouldn't mind sitting here to enjoy my coffee. Over all I'd come back and try and different flavor next time. Loved it!
google avatar

Nisha C.

Yelp
Happy Monday offers a delightful start to the week with its inviting atmosphere and scrumptious pastries. The cinnamon roll croissant is delicious, and if they don't offer I would recommend asking them to slightly heat it up for you. My friend got the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious on a nice brioche bun. She added ham which made it that much better. The café has a very chill and relaxing ambiance, coupled with friendly staff, enhances the overall experience, making it an ideal spot to get some work done or just sit for a minute and enjoy a latte with a pastry. If you're in the south loop looking for a nice coffee drink this hits the spot.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Perfect little coffee shop tucked in the Loop. The Purple Haze and Bee Sting lattes are both delicious! Definitely worth stopping in. My wife and I also shared their cheese omelette sandwich. Really good on the brioche bun!
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
This place would drain my bank account if I lived in Chicago! Had such a unique and delicious coffee to start my day while enjoying such a friendly barista and beautiful coffee shop. I had an iced birds and the bees - lavender and honey? Yes, please!
google avatar

Mahsa S.

Yelp
This cute coffee shop has a large variety of creative drinks available and you can pay a couple dollars extra for it to come in a teddy bear container (that you can keep after). The drinks were sweet and delicious but a bit on the pricey side. The cafe was in a building's lobby so they didn't have their own restroom but you could go upstairs to the office lobby. The space was open and empty with tons of seating!
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
Super cute shop. It's got seating and tables for people to sit, rest, study, work, and so on. Lots of merchandise to look at and admire as well. The purple haze latte is an absolute delight. It's got used, hazlenut, and oat milk. It's foamy soft and warm so it was perfect for the gloomy weather. It isn't too sweet and the ube has a great flavor which isn't too strong. I agree with the description- it's a perfect latte. Thyme is honey is a cold drink in a cute honey bear cup. Once you finish the drink you can ask to wash and keep as souvenir. It's more of an ice coffee with light sweetness with hint of spices to give the warm flavor. One of the best coffeeshops I've been to for sure.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Four words - - - Dirty Purple Haze Latte!!! The spice girl & the thyme is honey we're great drinks too. But I'm all about the ube & hazelnut. This place is AMAZING! Great coffee & pastries The staff is amazing too. So friendly. Great urban vibe and lovely seating options. Took home some espresso beans and made another great latte at home later. Parking is an issue in the neighborhood. But it's not bad on the weekends. And if you're already in the area or taking public transportation it's an easy stop.

Dede L.

Yelp
Coffee was good, but man was this place hard to find walking. It's located at the bottom of THE ALFRED apartment complex. Service was good, but just another basic coffee shop. Just to clarify, basic coffee does not get you 4 or 5 stars. There are too many of you - so you have to do a bit more to earn more than 3 stars. Don't be upset. I won't be bullied into changing my mind.
google avatar

Christopher G.

Yelp
Amazing coffee concoctions. I mean yeah they are expensive but Happy Monday is the only place I can get a nice Thyme Honey Latte. Actually thinking about this, I'm not sure why I haven't tried some of these coffee concoctions at home. We also got our breakfast here (such as perfect bakery items). All in all a pricey coffee experience, but a good one. Everyone loved their options form a kid's hot chocolate to my spicy coffee (I'm still dreaming of the bee sting) be warned, google maps seems to put this next door. Odd Note: Bathroom is available, they put you to this guard who takes your ID and you have to go up to the top of the building. So ask if you need to!
google avatar

Yelp
Always looking for a good, local coffee shop in the neighborhood, and saw that Happy Monday recently opened in the South Loop. Went for a morning pick-me-up, and definitely will be coming back soon. Happy Monday has some really creative drinks on the menu to satisfy any latte lover. I got the "thyme is honey" latte which comes in a cute bear glass (and it was delicious!!) The space inside was also very cute & chic, and just had a good vibe all around for studying or catching up with a friend. There was also some items for purchase at the sop including lots of snack items.
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
Stopped by while I was here for Lollapalooza 2023! The coffee was really good and the specialties were unique. I tried the bee sting, and it had a nice kick to it. I also managed to grab a cinnamon roll (last one bc it was so busy!!) and was also pleasantly surprised! I'm kinda desensitized to coffee but my friend said it was pretty strong haha. It's a really cute spot, and the interior is super clean. Probably better to grab and go though bc seating is limited.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop, but their drink definitely look better than they taste. I ordered their latte served in a bear cup (honestly got it because of the bear cup lol) and although it was cute, it didn't blow my mind. The matcha with strawberry boba was also just ok. Overall, really enjoyed the ambience but I don't see myself going back.
google avatar

Briana H.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop, snagged an ice latte and chilled before my tour in these cozy chairs!
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Cute spot in the Loop for some unique drinks! The ambience was really aesthetic and the staff was nice. Got the "Thyme is Honey" because it came in an adorable bear glass - the drink had a bit too much cinnamon for my taste but good nonetheless. They also have outlets - convenient for remote work. Will definitely be back to try some of the other options + CBD add-ons. Hidden gem for sure!

Kelly Y.

Yelp
The ube latte is super good!! Its creamy and isnt too heavy. Theres cute seats to relax in too. Very cozy.
google avatar

Trisha C.

Yelp
I walked in for a shake and coffee. Both were great. You can order ahead and pick up. It's also comfy to sit inside if you have more time.

Kolete K.

Yelp
I'm coming in from Los Angeles / DC , and 7.76 for coffee is so absurd. I got a horchata latte so maybe it was a specialty latte, but even then it wasn't anything spectacular and it was sort of watery. Absolutely not worth the price. Edit: The business owner's response is crazy like your coffee is still not good for 7$ anyways fair grounds which is like 2 streets down to me is worth the price
google avatar

Danny K.

Yelp
Visited during a business... def passed the vibe test! Incredibly cozy and inviting interior as you take a sip of some amazing coffee. Specialty lattes are unique in the flavor profile as you can double into some earl, gray, purple haze, or even my personal favorite, mocha. Definitely a cute spot if you're ever in downtown Chicago!
google avatar

Lark W.

Yelp
The coffee options are incredible. I got the bee sting, iced. it was yummy af. my go to drink is a miel so a spicyyy miel is very slay. this is a coffee shop that is part of an apartment building so it's quite small but still plenty of seating and places to work. the barista was super nice, didn't get their name but they were a gem. slay.
google avatar

Claudia H.

Yelp
Completely misleading to advertise this unappealing place as a place for great breakfast. You can have a coffee and a muffin and that's about it
google avatar

Elle R.

Yelp
I loved every bit of my visit. Customer service, atmosphere, and recommendations were spot on. I am one of those people who order a different espresso drink anywhere I go, I don't stick to a latte, cappuccino, macchiato, etc. I love to switch it up. I gave my likes to the person that was working at the time, sad I didn't catch their name, and I feel like my description of what I was looking for was listened to and my drink choice hit the spot. The store front is unassuming and could be missed easily but I was on a mission to find it because of Yelp! The decor is simple and chic and I would enjoy hanging out at a spot like this for hours, I had my teenager with me sleeping in the hotel near by so not possible during this visit to Chicago. I visited around 8:10-8:15 and there was only one other person in the store so service was quick. Price was less than I expected. My total for Thyme is Honey was $7 and some change and with tip less than $10, which to be honest, compared to what we had been spending on anything & everything in downtown Chicago this wasn't bad.
google avatar

Yelp
There are very few independent coffee shops in Chicago's Loop, and even less that are open on the weekend. To my recollection, other than Goddess and the Baker, the only other coffee shop options in the Loop on the Weekend are Starbucks and Dunkin. So, Happy Monday Coffee being open on Saturdays and Sundays is a huge plus right off the bat. This is, however, not the only plus. Their coffee is great. On a recent visit, I ordered the Iced Salted Caramel Latte. I loved it. It had a nice coffee taste, just right amount of caramel favor and the it wasn't too salty. I have found the salted caramel drinks are often way too salty, but thankful it was not in case. Also, the price of my drink was reasonable. I got a 12 oz for just over $5.00. Specifically drinks at Independent coffees are not cheap, but lately I feel the price is on the rise. I tried a new independent coffee shop in Pilsen (I won't name the place here) that changed over $7.00 for a tiny hot latte. In comparison, while not cheap, the price for my drink was reasonable. Next, I loved the vibe. The interior has sleek white walls, plenty of comfortable seating and lots of plants to make the place feel homely. They were even playing a chill-hop YouTub chancel for their music on a big flat scream TV that I have listened to in the past. I took my coffee to go, but I can see myself hanging out here. There are some negatives. Given the location, this not a place you want to drive to as parking is expensive and scarce. While this is just life in this area of Chicago, and not the fault of the coffee shop, it limit how I can foresee myself coming here. I drove here, and had to park around the corner illegally. However, if you are on foot in the area this is the perfect spot. It is even close to an L stop. The chocolate and raspberry croissant was over priced and forgettable. It was soft, not crispy and flaky, but did have a decent chocolate and raspberry flavor. It tasted like it had been sitting in a plastic bag, and not freshly baked. To the barista's credit, she asked me if I wanted it heated up. I declined because I wanted to rush to get back to my car. At $5.00+ it was not worth it. In sum, this coffee shop is a great find and must visit, especially if you are walking around the loop or work in the area.
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
Cute cafe with a clean refreshing vibe! Honestly came for the bear jar, but glad I did! Thyme is Honey is cinnamon-y and Grandma's Bag was sweet. My friend and I split the croissant and we both loved the tartness of the raspberry jam in the center with the chocolate.
google avatar

Adele B.

Yelp
grandma's bag plus 30mg THC - incredible coffee and great THC! Would 100% recommend :)
google avatar

Paul T.

Yelp
8.5/10 It is a small, intimate place with a chic ambiance with low-fi background music. Perfect for working/studying with your laptop. Too quiet for dating. Coffee beans are from Columbia and Mexico. It would be nice if I can try more coffee beans before I buy a bag. It supports third-party vendors, including various snacks and beauty products.
google avatar

Kylie A.

Yelp
Cute space off of the green line in south loop! I tried the ham and cheese croissant and the honey latte in the bear glass. Super creative idea to serve a latte in a bear for honey , the croissant was delicious and huge could definitely share!

Gianna B.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by this place and got Thyme is Honey, which came in an adorable bear cup. Although it was lovely in the eyes, the taste did not meet my expectations. It had a very watery taste with a mild espresso flavor. Another downside was that the barista was not friendly- he was very blunt when asked questions about the drinks, and we had to wait quite some time to get his attention to order. I do think this place is good to get some work done or to chat with a friend. The interior design of this cafe is aesthetic, with cute furniture.
google avatar

Charleene R.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop. I tried the trendy Thyme is Honey with an extra shot of espresso since it only comes with 2 shots. I also had a cinnamon crunch muffin. The coffee was good, although I didn't taste any thyme. The muffin was a bit dry but still edible. The employees were friendly and welcoming and the vibe inside the place was relaxing. It's worth checking out.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Such a pretty coffee shop! I love the interior, and I got their popular bear latte. It was super yummy, and it had a pretty strong coffee flavor too. I sat in for a few hours to do some work, and it was relatively quiet and had good Wi-Fi. The only downside is that there isn't a restroom nearby (you have to go next door to the apartment and ask to go up to use the restroom, but it's a hassle of a process). The latte itself was a bit expensive ($7), but for the cup and how good it is, I don't mind. I recommend!
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
This place has relaxing music (jazz, piano, modern) and decor (white, minimal, plants) and really high quality and delicious coffees. The special drink was definitely a highlight. Everyone's so nice too. Highly recommend!
