NYC’s Family-Friendly Restaurants Are Upping Their Cocktail Game - Eater NY

"Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will open his first restaurant in Connecticut this spring through a partnership with Aurify Brands, the company behind Le Pain Quotidien, Little Beet, Melt Shop, and other chains. The Greenwich restaurant, called Happy Monkey, will infuse “Latin cuisine with a Jean-Georges flair,” according to a spokesperson for the chef." - Luke Fortney

Everywhere They Eat in ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot ‘And Just Like That’ - Eater

"Carrie meets Big’s brother Richard at this Jean-Gorges restaurant off the West Side Highway in Greenwich village. Over this four-dollar-sign lunch, Richard asks what’s going on with Big’s ashes and suggests Carrie inters them at the family crypt in Connecticut where one day, if she’s interested, there’d be room for her to join him." - Madeleine Davies

I had such a great experience at Happy Monkey by Jean-Georges, located right on Greenwich Avenue. This spot has such a fun, energetic atmosphere with beautiful décor and a lively open kitchen concept that makes the whole dining experience feel special. The menu is creative, Latin-inspired, and perfect for sharing. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell the staff really cares about the experience! Whether you’re looking for a trendy restaurant in Greenwich for a date night, a weekend brunch, or dinner with friends, Happy Monkey is one of the best spots in town. Great cocktails, fresh ingredients, and a vibe that makes you want to come back again and again. 📍 Happy Monkey – 376 Greenwich Ave, Greenwich, CT ✅ Latin-inspired small plates ✅ Lively atmosphere & stylish interior ✅ Perfect for brunch, dinner, or cocktails

Happy Monkey offers a stylish, lively atmosphere ideal for sharing Latin‑inspired small plates and cocktails with friends. The food strikes a balance between elevated flavor techniques (inspired by Jean‑Georges and executed by Chef Ron Gallo) and accessible, vibrant presentations. While the experience is fun and polished, some diners feel prices are steep for portion sizes, and service can be uneven. But if you’re craving creative plates like garlic shrimp, flavorful tacos, inventive guacs, and standout cocktails in a sophisticated yet casual setting—this is a solid pick.

Being honest: it was just okay. I was expecting a lot more from a Jean-Georges branded restaurant. The food was bland, but for the brisket tacos which were really nice, and a little on the cold side. The service was uneven. A bunch of plates came out quickly and then a big delay; water was never refilled. That was surprising because the restaurant was empty. There are better places on Greenwich Ave.

Pricey modern Mexican restaurant, food and drinks were delicious but on the smaller side, quality and flavor were great. Service was prompt and courteous, we were seated at a nice table and the vibe was cool and relaxed. I would definitely be back.

Three Times a Charm at Happy Monkey! This was my third visit to Happy Monkey, and once again, it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with vibrant energy, warm service, and a lively atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The food continues to impress—creative, flavorful, and consistently well-executed. Whether you’re trying something new or sticking with a favorite, every dish feels thoughtfully prepared. Cocktails are just as stellar, perfectly complementing the bold menu. Special thanks to our waiters Brian and Christian, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming—they truly added to the charm of the night. It’s rare to find a spot that delivers every single time, but Happy Monkey truly lives up to the hype. Three visits in, and I’m already looking forward to the fourth!

This restaurant truly made our trip to Greenwich. We sat at the bar, where Carlos, our bartender, provided outstanding service and made the entire experience unforgettable. It felt like dining at a Michelin rated restaurant. Everything was full of flavor. Short rib and street corn are out of this world. Whenever we’re in the area, we’ll always make sure to stop by.

Great experience last Tuesday night at Happy Monkey in Greenwich!  We were immediately greeted by a welcoming hostess and waited for our guests to arrive by the bar. The bartender immediately welcomed us and offered us a drink. The restaurant was lively, sophisticated and welcoming. Our server, David, was friendly and attentive as well as the manager, Mehmet, who stopped by our table just to say hello and make us feel welcomed. The menu offers a creative approach to Mexican fare and everything we ordered was delicious! Few standout items included the Ham and Cheese Fritters, Sweet Pea Guacamole, Sizzling Shrimp and the Smoked Brisket Tacos! To finish, try the churros - they melt in your mouth!

Love the atmosphere it was really quaint. And Christian was a great server. I even forgot the choros when I left and he ran after me to give me my plate to go. The ambiance is comfortable and casual. I had the fried fish taco. It was good but the cabbage on top was kind of tart but the espresso martini was good! Really like this place.
