The food here is everything and more. Authentic, flavorful, and amazing prices. We had the beef bulgogi, spicy squid dinner and toppokki! Highly recommend each dish.

Google
Happy Time is excellent Korean cuisine, ran by a super nice family. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something new or different from hamburgers, pizza and other common food options!

First time here and we were not disappointed. We came during rush hour and the service was still great. The food was amazing as well.

Google
This was an amazing restaurant. Some of the best Korean food we have had in a long time!! We had beef bulgogi and a the N9 soup (cannot remember the name) we did family style. We also had a kimchi pancake and Gimbap. Highly recommend this place!

Google
When I say this is the best Korean food in town…. my boyfriend’s Korean & he was absolutely shocked by how this tastes just like his mom’s cooking. This was so delicious in every way. We got the kimchi stew 10/10, spicy bulgogi 10000/10. This is going to be our normal spot once a week.

Google
If you give them a try, only some lunch offerings offer any value for your hard earned money. Obscene expensive for anything other than some lunch specials, even then, be careful. $20 for lunch 갈비 (Galbi box) is freaking insane unheard of expensive. Food was good, not great, but really only okay at these prices. Small portions and few quality ingredients for entrees $25+. Anything Korean seems to command a premium these days. Suspect this joint is capitalizing on Korea's recent surge in popularity by overcharging for average Korean food.

Google
We got Soon Tofu stew and Bibimbab. We were glad to find a decent Korean restaurant in Colorado Springs. The food was good, but not as authentic as Korea or some restaurants we are use to eating at.

Google
Happy Time is on the top of our list as one of our favorite Korean restaurants in town. Delightful table setting of 5-cheop banchan, nice music playlist, and remarkable display of Asian hospitality. Authentic cooking, and use of ingredients. As for the taste, I would love more pungent seasoning, but overall it always worth the while coming here.

Yelp
Such good Korean food! I am an avid fan of any Asian cuisine but Korean food has my heart. We got the spicy and regular bulgogi, with the spring rolls as an appetizer. Such such such good food. I loved all the sides we got and the buckwheat tea was so good to accompany this meal. The spicy bulgogi was just enough to dance around the mouth without needing water. The service was very attentive and on a Friday night, we were one of four others inside. Very great restaurant and can't wait to try their soups!!

Yelp
We got gimbap, pork kimchi soon tofu, & beef kimchi soon tofu. Definitely recommend the soups especially when it's cold out. I like that it doesn't have a strong kimchi taste with the soon tofu (my preferred taste) - it's delicious, like a homemade dish. I would say the gimbap had lots of rice The lady was very sweet, quick service. Not too busy which is great especially when you're very hungry for lunchtime! Too bad we didn't get here on time for the lunch specials, the prices are great for the lunch time specials. The kitchen is out but don't worry, you won't smell like food when you leave!

Yelp
I just love this place. It's homey, and is a good placeholder for when I don't have Korean food from my momma. The owner always greets us and is attentive. The menu is simple and everything I've ordered has been good.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place. Good amount of items on the menu and so delicious. This is my second time here doing take out. I haven't come to sit down and eat yet, but even the takeout food is so delicious. I'm so happy to have found another yummy restaurant to add to my short list of good food in COS.

Yelp
It's a rare occurrence here in Colorado Springs wherein you visit an ethnic restaurant and don't miss the food in a larger city. I ordered the spicy beef bulgogi. What ensued was a culinary feast for the senses. Spice level was just right. Flavors were pungent. Everything from the beef itself, high quality with no discernible gristle or fat, a mouth watering array of fried vegetables, tantalizing sauce, with wonderful sides. This was fantastic. I've frequented my share of Korean restaurants. It's an expensive menu usually due to the sheer amount of beef present. Even the pricing of this restaurant was favorable. I am leaving with enough food for a full dinner tomorrow. Friendly, caring service welcomes you. I cannot recommend Happy Time enough.

Yelp
Wow! I am so glad we decided to try this new (to us) Korean restaurant! It's n a little strip center with several other highly rated restaurants, so this is a great area for lunch. We walked in just after they opened and were greeted and seated immediately. There were menus on the tables and the friendly server brought hot tea (?) and ice water along with napkins, forks, and chopsticks. (The hot drink tasted a bit like VERY weak coffee so my husband didn't want his - I enjoyed it.) We ordered Jab Chae as an appetizer. I decided on the Spicy Bulgogi Bento Box lunch while my hubby chose the Vegetable Soon Tofu. The Jab Chae is described as "sautéed clear noodle with beef and vegetables" while my Bento is "thinly Sliced beef marinated in a special house sauce." The Vegetable Soon Tofu is a bubbling hot "soft tofu soup mild or spicy in a pot with vegetables, egg." (He ordered it spicy but it was pretty mild - next time, he'll ask for extra spicy!) The Jab Chae came out first - looking and smelling delicious. It tasted just as good and was a large portion - I could have eaten just that dish and been sated. The sweet potato noodles (similar to Chinese mung bean or Crystal noodles) were perfectly tender with delicious pieces of beef, onion & bell pepper stir-fried in with them. The Banchan followed soon after. Banchan are small side dishes They represent a category unto themselves: snacks-within-a-meal that function as complements, contrasts, and condiments all at once. They are set in the middle of the table to be shared. Here, they served 5 dishes: Baechu kimchee (spicy pickled cabbage), Danmuji (pickled radish), Oi Muchim (Spicy Cucumber Salad), Gamjajeon pancakes, & Kongnamul (seasoned soybean sprouts). When my husband murmured his delight at seeing the Kimchee, the server immediately brought out another serving for us. All the dishes were wonderful! We were still trying all the Banchan when our entrees arrived. My husband's soup was boiling in its bowl and smelled wonderful. It came with a big covered bowl of rice - he ate every bit and declared it excellent. My Bento Box held a large serving of spicy Bulgogi Beef, a huge portion of rice, and 3 more Banchan items (pancake, cucumbers, & radish). The bulgogi was savory with a hint of sweetness - perfect! Since I had more Banchan, I let my hubby have the "table's servings." And then the lovely lady who served us brought out 3 more Banchan bowls (bean sprouts, cucumbers & kimchee). It was soooo much and SO good! We were both stuffed despite not even making a dent in the Jab Chae (which I happily took home). This stands out as one of our favorite Korean restaurants and we WILL be back!

Yelp
This is our go-to spot for korean food. We ordered way more than we could finish between two people, but that's also because I didn't expect the portions to be big. For the price point, it's definitely fair. We ordered the japchae as an appetizer, which was sooooo good! The portion was larger than just an appetizer size though. We also ordered the spicy bulgogi and bibimbap-both were flavorful and authentic. Everything was excellent. They were pretty fast with coming out with the food. I love the side dishes. All in all, a wonderful locally owned spot. Will definitely be returning again and again.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service, cleanliness, and food at great prices! $15.99 for more than enough food. They open at 11 and I was the first here.

Michael P.

Yelp
Good selection in menu, dishes were flavorful with authentic flavors. Service was friendly and prompt. Seating was comfortable and clean with reasonable space and number of tables.

Yelp
Exceptional service, nice atmosphere. Food quality solid, but Sura remains my go-to in Colorado Springs. Recommend this restaurant if you're nearby and craving Korean food. Price point is just right, portions are bigger than equivalents in the area.

Mindy K.

Yelp
Food was mediocre at best- I had the Bibimbap bowl. Had no flavor except for the only sauce offered which was a hot sauce and completely dominated anything else in bowl. Everything g was cold except rice on bottom. Egg rolls tasted like they were frozen from a box. Service was fair. Honestly I'm confused at the 4.3 average stars this place has. We were very disappointed.

John R.

Yelp
This restaurant was great and had authentic Korean food. The waitress was very kind and provided us great service. The ambiance was nice and cozy as it was a cold day. The soup was delicious as well as the bulgogi. Highly recommend!

Yelp
There's something about Korean food that just leaves you so satisfied when you're done eating. It feels like home (so jealous it wasn't my home when I was growing up lol), it's comforting, and it doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Now, with all that said, that's how I felt when leaving here. I was full, but not heavy. The food was packed with flavor. Every bite left me happy. I may have done my happy dance while eating. Idk, why I do it but I get so excited lol. The location is easy to get to, the signage very clear and visible. The restaurant it's self is clean, fast and friendly. I'll happily be visiting again any time I'm up north.

Yelp
This was my first time having a Korean dish besides Kbbq and it was so good!! I got the kimchi jjigae stew and it was delicious. It was a lot of food but I ate it all. It's the perfect thing for a winter day. The staff was so kind and helpful-- I felt right at home! The restaurant is very cozy and casual but nice! Very clean and organized. Definitely will be coming back to try more Korean dishes!
google avatar

Yelp
Happy Time is a perfectly executed fast casual Korean restaurant. The menu is expansive, the decor is comfortable and the service is impeccable. The flavors were spot on both dishes I ordered. Happy Time is also reasonably priced considering the massive levels of inflation. The banchan was pretty good too! I would strongly recommend anyone eat here.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I really like all of their soups and the sides that come with them - so good! Staff are always so nice! Thankful to have such a great Korean spot nearby!

Gulayim S.

Yelp
Food was amazing, so tasty and delicious! Service was excellent and other thing we noticed was amazing atmosphere with wonderful music background! Everything is clean! It's first time when we enjoyed everything and it became our must visit place! Strongly recommended!!!

Yelp
Very good food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. My family enjoyed a variety of dishes but the soups were our favorite!

Yelp
Great food. Had the spicy beef bulgogi and it was so lean, there was zero fat on the meat which I appreciated and it was so flavorful. Loved it!

Yelp
Having a mother that is Korean I have eaten and dozens of Korean restaurants. I was a skeptical that there would be good Korean in Colorado Springs but I was pleasantly surprised that this was just as good as any place I've been to here in the states or in Korea. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We recently relocated to Colorado Springs and this is the first Korean spot we ate at here. My family loves their food, and we will become regulars. We've lived in Korea for a couple years so our expectations are pretty high when it comes to Korean food - and Happy Time Korean meets our expectations. I ordered the hotpot bibimbap, and it was amazing! Their portion is very generous so I had left overs and I wasn't mad about that! We also had one of their soups, I don't remember what it was called but it's S12 in the menu. It was flavorful and yummy - not as spicy as we would like it to be though. We ordered the Korean pancake - one word: AH-MAZING. My daughter ordered the teriyaki chicken, and it is probably the best teriyaki chicken I've had in a very long time. She's a picky eater so for her to clear her plate of it, says a lot. Definitely a must try place!

Yelp
Happy Time is one of the best Korean Restaurants I have tried in Colorado Springs. I ordered Japchae (noodles) and the Short Rib, both dishes were amazing. The staff was very helpful and courteous, which completed my great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy or would like to try Korean Food.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Exceptional service and the food is full of flavor! The restaurant is very small so more of a homey ambiance.

Dennis W.

Yelp
When I got to where the GPS said the address was. I had to really look for the place. Very dark windows, not a big flashy sign, etc.. Inside it was well lit. Though my arrival was about a half hour before closing and I was only customer, they were happy to serve me. My menu choice of grilled mackerel was what one would expect, which is simple and tast appropriate. I'd go back with more time and try some more things. Based on my limited experience I'd give it a 3.5 star rating.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! I was looking for a good Korean restaurant to take my aunt to, but this one wasn't listed. It wasn't until I looked at the other suggestions listed under a mediocre-reviewed Korean restaurant that I found it. And, thank goodness! It's a small, strip mall restaurant. It's cute and comfortable with the typical layout and furniture. However, the food and service were both incredible. We must have had the friendliest and most helpful server ever. She was absolutely lovely and really good at her job. Based on the other reviews, we started with the pancake. I added the dumplings too, because I couldn't resist. Delicious! Two of us had the spicy bulgogi dinner and one hat the hot stone bibim bap bowl. We loved our food. We also loved each of the banchan dishes. I took two women who had never had Korean food before and they loved everything! Even the kimchi! Other reviews did mention that the price point is high here, but with the portion of food, I think it's quite reasonable. I definitely have more than one meal of leftovers and am excited to get back here to try some of the other dishes. Highly recommend! Like, extremely high!

Yelp
The food here is absolutely THE best!! Portions are generous and the spices are perfect. It's as close to Korea as you'll get stateside. Make sure you don't miss out! Go try them. (This was a lunch portion)

Yelp
I ordered japchae and I love it! The lady there was very friendly and welcoming. The place is clean and quiet.

Yelp
$110+ for 3 dinners and one app. We called in a take out order and my husband didn't check the bag before leaving. He got home and we only got sides for one of the three dinners. Huge rip off. The portions were super small and mediocre for costing $30 per dinner.
google avatar

Cassandra And Paul P.

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing! My boyfriend loves the spicy bulgogi and I love the regular. It's a little pricey but worth it, especially compared to other places in the area.

Yelp
This was a pleasant find. Visiting the family in the springs this weekend, our in-laws asked if we would like to go to dinner at a Korean restaurant. One of My hubbys favorite types of cuisines, we found this place! Nice small restaurant, there was only one other full table when we arrived. By the time we left, all tables were full. Service was friendly and quick. Plenty to choose from on the menu. They even had a kids menu and that's quite different from our normal Korean bbq place up in Denver. Kiddo got the chicken teriyaki and I'm not a huge teriyaki fan but damn that was good! It came with a side and rice, perfect! Hubby ordered his fave dokbagi bibimbap and loved it. My father in law and I both ordered the beef bulgogi dish. That's my go to order and this did not disappoint! We only wished it came with a side of rice. My mother In law got the spicy chicken bulgogi and liked it but didn't expect it to be as spicy as it was. The meals all came with some sides to share as in most Korean restaurants like kimchi and tofu dishes. We really enjoyed the food and would love to come again for maybe lunch next time as prices are pretty high for dinner.
google avatar

M M.

Yelp
This is a favorite for our family! We love the spicy and regular bulgogi and they haven't done us wrong so far! Thank you for always getting the food right and for the great service!

Shelby K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it's always delicious. I crave Mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) in the summer and this is my go to place. Husband got the Spicy Chicken Bulgogi and really liked it. We also had the Gimbap as a starter and it was so delicious! The lady serving us is always nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommend if you're wanting to try some Korean food!
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
I know next to nothing about Korean food. The lunch was delicious but a bit pricey. The service was very good and speedy. I would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Tim R.

Yelp
GREAT! Their hot stone bowl Bibimbap is awesome. We make this a routine dinner now. Great service & atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried the Spicy Beef Bulgogi Box for lunch. It was good, but no wow factor. I liked that the portion of meat was about equal to the portion of rice. The beef was tasty but a little more on the chewy side and on a scale of 1-5, I'd give the spice level a low 2. The kimchi... shouldn't be called kimchi. Square pieces of cabbage with out much flavor. I don't know why they bother to put a California roll piece on the plate because it was dry and very unappealing. I agree with Matt H's review where he said it was Americanized Korean food. Since it's over on my side of town I was hoping for yum yum good, and not bad, but if you're looking for authentic, this isn't the place. I think if you have very mild taste buds and would like a taste of Korean food, this would be a great choice. The restaurant itself is small-ish... maybe had 15 or so tables. Simply but tastefully decorated. A fireplace which is probably cozy on a cold winters eve. Clean. My fork had a wrapper on it, so I know it was clean and sanitized. Friendly service with a smile. Maybe half the restaurant was full at lunchtime on a Thursday, but not overwhelmingly busy.

Yelp
Time for a years later update: This has become my new favorite Korean spot not only because of it's close proximity to me but because of the way they cook. You know how you can take a dish, say lasagna, and have 3 different people cook it but your grandma's will always be the best? This is how I feel about Happy Time. It's wonderful to see a lot of new Korean restaurants open in recent years but the chef at Happy Time just feeds my soul. I admittedly order out from here a lot when hungover and let me tell you, their soup HEALS.

James P.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the place. My only regret is we didn't come sooner. Great food, attentive staff, and just fun. See you soon. We had the seafood soon tofu stew with all the extras, bibimbap, and appetizer of topoki. Ate. Everything. Oof.

Yelp
They have such amazing fish cake kimchi! I get it Every time! And the kim bap (drool face) I love this place

Yelp
Can't believe it's been seven years since I've been in Colorado Springs! Since I was back, I had to take my family to my favorite Korean restaurant in town and everyone enjoyed their food and the experience. We came in for lunch around 12:30 on Friday and my almost 4 year old was being very demanding about sitting next to grandpa, but also wanted baba beside her and...oh pre-schoolers! The waitress was really sweet and patient with this whole situation :) We all ordered individually - Jason and I each ordered naengmyun (he also added kalbi), my mom had veggie ramen, my dad had the bulgogi plate (there's also a lunch box / doshirak option for cheaper), and Miss A demanded tofu soup/ soondubu. We ordered her soup completely mild and it was very savory and flavorful. She also grubbed up almost the entire kalbi order, it's always so helpful that Korean restaurants have scissors handy! Overall the food is good here, but the thing that sets them apart is the service - so friendly and prompt. They are observant about which panchan you prefer and bring refills right away. Our waitress even packed up two small containers of the kkakdugi radish kimchi for us to take home!

Yelp
Small business lovely lady served us and the food was delicious. Nice place for a quiet meal.

Yelp
My first time coming here was a good and decent experience. The waitress was attentive. She asked how the food tasted and if we needed anything else. The place was also very clean and cozy. The food wasn't that bad. The rice was fresh and the bulgogi that I ordered was okay. It was marinated really well. I think I have had better bulgogi before though so I can't say this place gave me the wow factor. The sides given were fresh as well. They gave out fish cake, Kim Chi, bean sprouts, pickled cucumber, and pieces of Korean pancake. Overall, the place was decent, customer service was outstanding. The food? Not super impressive compared to other bulgogi I've had before. I'm sure it'll be a great place for other people's taste buds though! 4/5 stars for me!
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
When we were seated,, we we're served with lovely tea immediately. The food had very wonderful flavor! It was hard to choose because most items seem to be made with sugar and the owner/waitperson was not very forthcoming on ideas for a less sweet option. I'm just not a huge fan of sweet savory combos so maybe Korean isn't for me. I ended up with a very spicy soft tofu soup. There were a few clams in shell, a few small shrimp, a lots of broth with great flavor. The toppings to share were very delicious, especially the seaweed. My friend had generous portions of Korean beef, and one friend a vegan option. If you love Korean you will appreciate the care this place takes.
google avatar

Alyssa J.

Yelp
I have been craving great Korean food since I left the Bay Area. I was impressed with the pictures and views left on the place and to mine and my husbands surprise this is the best Korean food we have had in the states!! All of the food was beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, portions were great for the price, and all the food was perfect! The service was good. We felt a little rushed to leave once the bill was brought to the table however the place got pretty busy with the dinner rush. Wish they had drink options but I would 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
The prices out outrageous! Everything on the dinner menu is $22+ for a single thing. I know with the whole CV and the worst administration, things are all inflated like a mfo, but all other korean restaurants are cheaper than here with not that much difference in taste or ingredients.
google avatar

Tamara C.

Yelp
Used to live pretty close to this restaurant and of course I tried it but had to make sure I did not order anything that was spicy. Checked with the waitress to make sure what I ordered was cooked mild because my stomach cannot tolerate spicy food anymore. The older I get I have realized that I can no longer eat spicy food.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic food and incredible service! Love this place! Everyone is so nice here. We always look forward to Happy Time night :)

Yelp
My favorite Korean spot in Colorado Springs, and I've been to almost all of them. Clean, friendly staff, and great home-cooked style meals. I go here whenever I need some comfort food, especially the jigae's on a cold day. Prices might seem high but they are fair and consistent with other restaurants considering the ingredients and location. I can vouch for almost all the menu items, here are some of my favorites: Korean pancake, galbi, bulgogi, kimchi and dwenjang jigae, bibimbap, dumplings, soft tofu soup. They serve solid banchan as well. I take friends and family here all the time and am always greeted with a friendly smile by the ajuma. Go here for Korean food in Colorado Springs!

Yelp
Had the beef short rib plate for dinner. Plenty of food and generous portions. The food was cooked fresh and came out just right. Some of the sides were a little to eccentric for my taste but still fun to try. Only diet sodas was Diet Coke. Oh well can't win them all.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Short ribs were expensive (34.99) and tough as shoe leather. The soup was full of slimy tofu. Appetizers-fried egg rolls and fried dumplings are the reason they got 2 stars. Beef bolgagi (sp?)was decent. So expensive and could have gone to many other restaurants and enjoyed a meal. Won't be back, unfortunately. Too expensive for a disappointing meal.
