Happy Tuna Sushi & Crispy Rice

One of the best chicken sandwiches in town. Very crispy and juicy. However, the sushi itself is just alright, even though the box looks fancy

I was visiting the city and had a late night sushi craving and thankfully found happy tuna! The sushi rolls we got were spicy tuna, yellowtail scallion, and salmon. All of them were delicious and our delivery was so quick! I was worried the sushi wouldn’t taste fresh if it took too long but it was perfect. I also appreciated all the sauces and cutlery included in our order.

Love this place, go here regularly for lunch and get their BOGO promotion. Great value for the cost and their packaging is so cute.

I tried their sushi through too good to go app and it was absolutely amazing! 🤩 it was full of fresh sushi and I even got edamame. It was really good quality sushi and rolls. I highly recommend their sushi!!🍣

I absolutely love the crispy rice at Happy Tuna—it's so unique, and I haven't found anything like it anywhere else in the city! Their salmon roll is incredibly fresh too; once I start eating, I just can't stop!

Ordered on Ubereats and it came very fast. Got here in less than 20 minutes in a colorful, but simple box. Great presentation. We got a sampling of 6 types of sushi and they came with 6 types of sauces to add. The spicy tuna roll was a perfect amount of spice that didn’t overpower the tuna. The salmon avocado was the perfect ratio to make the perfect piece of sushi. Great option for quick sushi late at night with friends. Highly recommend.

My friend discovered this place after hanging out at the Dog Museum. We had the crispy rice lunch special and the food was delicious, reasonably priced and filling! Service was great too.

Ordered delivery and I am very disappointed at the quality. I ordered salmon avocado, cucumber avocado, and avocado roll. The salmon tasted like grinded up salmon. It was not in 1 piece. It was mushy and lacked texture. I could not see the usual white fat lines in salmon. The cucumber avocado roll consisted of mostly cucumber... some barely had any avocado. The packaging is super cute though. And the soy sauce comes in a teeny tiny bottle. Will not be ordering from here again.

Happy Tuna Sushi is located across from our Springhill Marriott hotel so we dropped in for some sushi. This is a take-out only spot. They have a buy one, get one rolls special that seemed like a good deal, but I went with the Happy Bite Lunch Box, which came with miso soup, edamame, 1 pc Albacore Nigiri, 1 pc Yellowtail Nigiri, 1 pc Salmon Nigiri, 1 pc Tuna Nigiri, and a roll of my choice for $21. I chose the salmon avocado roll. They packaged it in a cute box. It was good quality sushi and the whole meal was very filling. If I stay at the Springhill Times Square again, I'd return for more sushi! My friends enjoyed their meal as well.

The spot is just pick up only so don't expect to find seating here. They have a variety of items to choose from and they are all packaged in an easy to go box which makes it convenient. Service was quick. The sushi is pretty ok, I think you can get better sushi elsewhere for the price.

Happy Tuna is good delivery sushi and rolls. This is not "omakase quality" sushi but it is high quality, really much better than most for delivery. It was quick and good. We will definitely order again.

A perfect box to bring to the party and wow the crowd! I ordered the nigiri galore, only $39 for 8 salmon avocado rolls, 8 nigiri, 3 crispy rice nigiri, and a side of edamame and miso soup. I also tried the hojicha tiramisu, a very unique dessert! I loved the Asian twist, it tasted creamy with subtle smokiness The Chicken Katsu sandwich was crunchy and juicy, perfect for lunch!

The sushi is so good quality with great fish quality and is so neatly packed with such amazing quality. The spicy tuna was so creamy and smokey. The salmon avocado had fresh creamy avocado and quality salmon that was not overly fishy.

I ordered the salmon avo roll for delivery and it was cheap and so good. There was plenty of salmon in the roll and the packaging of the sushi was the cutest little box.

The fish is expertly prepared and all the ingredients are high quality. This is the perfect takeout spot for your next summer picnic or office lunch. They don't have any seating so this is a takeout only spot! What we ordered: -nigiri galore $39 -hit the combo $49 -hojicha tiramisu $8.50 -miso caramel pudding I absolutely LOVED the spicy tuna crispy rice. The rice was very well seasoned and perfectly crispy, the tuna tasted fresh and the jalapeño on top gave it the perfect kick. Second favorite was the eel, the eel to rice portion was HUGE. All the fish melted in my mouth and none of the rolls had too much rice. My favorite roll was the yellowtail scallion, the mix of textures was perfection. The hojicha tiramisu was nice and light and not too sweet. Overall this was the perfect lunch spot.

A trendy spot where ur paying for half the experience. Its moreso about the box and the little soy sauce than the food id say. But its super cute The food is high quality and larger than expected for a basic salmon and avocado roll. My only complaint is the salmon was more little bits/scrapes put together. I was more expecting a solid cube of salmon for the price. Great takeout option in nyc!

to-go only I think! basically a Sugarfish without the pictures/labels/instructions on the box. I would have ordered a few different items (like the booomb looking crispy spicy tuna app) but I was surprised with this for dinner with fam. regardless, everything I tried was really fresh, perfectly portioned, and came beautifully packaged with a well-labeled and plentiful amount of condiments. avocado rolls, spicy tuna, crab, and what I believe is shrimp (all white one.) just took a look at their menu and I love it. Tons of options, really cool featured sets of boxes. the value is there. I cannot wait to stop by again soon to try a few other things!

Overpriced, as they are not premium fish, none of them have the fresh shine look on them and looking very dull. The portion is quite big tho, you can share this among 2 people. You can easily get way better and more premium sushi in the city for similar price. ~ Hit the combo $49 ~ Spicy Tuna Roll (8 pc): The typical spicy tuna roll that Americans love where the sauce is the main character and fish being the sad supporting role. If I close my eyes I won't know I am eating tuna at all. But then the sauce is tasty, I mean who doesn't like a sauce mixed with mayo, sriracha and a bunch of other things? They are tasty. Crab roll (8 pc): My favourite sushi in the box, because you can actually taste the crab, plus a bunch of mayo, who doesn't love mayo. Yellowtail (2 pc), Albacore (2 pc): Not fresh, as you can tell by the dull looking fish with a yellow tint, not what a yellowtail/albacore should look like. It should look white with a pinkish/reddish colour. Salmon (2 pc): Average salmon, nothing special. Not very fatty. Tuna (2 pc): Not fresh, the texture is very mushy (kinda like it's frozen and then defrosted) and tasted fishy Unagi (2 pc): Tasted good, because it's like any average tasting unagi that you can get from a jp supermarket Shrimp Nigiri (2 pc): Pretty bland, not that fresh Crispy Rice (3 pc): Can't really tell what's the fish on top of the crispy rice because it's covered by a sauce, but I guess they could be tuna. The crispy rice is crispy in a sticky and stuck between your teeth kinda way. Happy Tuna Salad: it's an ordinary salad. Veges are pretty fresh. Will I be back? No I have had way better sushi in the city for $30 and none of this crap. This shop do have very pretty to go boxes and presentation, nice to bring to a picnic and what not if you don't care about quality. But I'm not that person.

This is a to-go only sushi place that is pick up or delivery ONLY. Call or place your order online, and pay at the restaurant when you arrive! The storefront is easy to miss but once you see the cute sushi painting through the door, you'll enter and see the pickup counter to your left. The sushi comes in a bento box style with a whole other box full of condiments including soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, spicy mayo, garlic ponzu, and yuzu pepper juice. Super cute packaging! I got the 3 roll option which on the menu is priced at $27 - spicy scallop, salmon avocado, and tuna toro. My friend got the lobster one as well, and that was my favorite after the spicy scallop. The rolls are 8pieces with a decent amount of fish and everything tasted super fresh. I liked that the lobster roll wasn't super minced and was good sized chunks of lobster. A hidden gem in this part of the city!

One of my favorite sushi takeout bento boxes! This is my go to bento takeout box when I'm craving sushi. I always get the combo boxes that costs $39 which has over 30 rolls. It's got an incredible amount of variety like nigiri, sushi rolls, edamame, and tuna crispy rice. The decor is beautiful too, each box comes packaged in the cutest box and most colorful sauces. Happy Tuna has good deals and the fish quality is fresh! I would recommend the spicy tuna rolls and the salmon avocado rolls. I tried both and I liked both!

Ran over to grab a quick bite. It is to-go, and it was fast. It was delicious and very convenient. The fish was fresh and came with soy sauce, wasabi, ginger, and a spicy sauce. All of the spicy tuna rolls were $15 in total and the nigiri had a BOGO deal.

I went to Happy Tuna Sushi on 8/1 and the Sushi/Sashimi was delicious & it was presented in a very cute box. I will visit them at my next visit to NYC

The price was really affordable for NYC sushi but there's a reason for that. I wanted to try out their variety, but everything in the box I ordered fell short. The Happy Lux has everything they offer essentially, but the quality of the fish was so bad and I had shells and bones in my sushi. I would much rather spend a little more for another establishment in NYC.

Super cute packaging and very fresh fish. Loved the crab rolls (made with LEGIT crab, not the imitation stuff). The fish to rice ratio is also decently high, and the food is very reasonably priced for it's quality in midtown manhattan lol.

There's a spectrum of sushi quality but no matter how high your standards a deal is a deal. Happy Tuna is a newcomer to the sushi in a box submarket and is dishing out deals worth your order. I have a late night sushi tooth and work night shift so I love how it's open till midnight. I hope the buy one get one free deals stay because I tell all my work friends about them as one of my take out go to's. Have probably ordered from them 6 times. Sushi quality 7/10, value 10/10. You could never get this much value at a brick and mortar sushi restaurant or grocery store.

I got the sushi box for $29 and it wasn't bad but you can tell that the quality of the fish is just okay. The fish in the sushi is all chopped up. It's cute that they give the sushi in a to-go box with a few different sauces to try. It's a to-go place with no seating. Overall, I'd probably not come again since there are many other sushi places that have better quality for the price.

Big Tuna: delivery! Came in a fun box printed with "happy bite : happy life." Creamy tuna w good ratio of sauce to fish, rice a little on the dry side, not glutinous. Nigiri was a little on the meh side-- ordered a cut of fish that should have been melty soft but felt more rubbery. Altogether satisfactory, especially with a 2 for 1 deal. three and a half stars. Lil Spice: Spicy tuna felt a tad bit too salty and a little too mealy. Its nori was that kind of a-little-too-thick nori, a bit too resistant to the teeth and sticky in the mouth. Not exceptional in any way, but it was convenient and cute! Big Toon's 3.5 stars is fair, but my Real Temp™ forecast is 3 stars.

What a great experience. The space they have is very NY. Small can't even describe the space but Happy Tuna exists solely for takeout. There is absolutely no room to sit or stand, no dining in at all. The decor is minimalistic and very Japanese. I ordered the salmon avocado roll and I really dig it. It's not inside out (which I really appreciate) and it's simple but tasty. I'm excited for takeout sushi in this area again....there IS hope.

Gave this place a try due to its promotion on Uber Eats; however it was very disappointing. The packaging is beautiful and friendly service when I picked up my food; however the sushi is not good. -Salmon Avocado (2/5): Salty sushi rice for some reason and the salmon was for some reason mushy rather than a sliced cut of salmon for salmon avocado. The mushiness of rice and avocado with the mushy salmon is not a good combo, there should be other textures to make this sushi good. -Eel Cucumber (3.5/5): This was good, but the eel texture was a bit slimy, which was offputting since it's supposed to be cooked. -Lobster Roll (4/5): Good, fresh lobster. -Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna (2/5): The rice was no longer crispy and it stuck to my teeth. The spicy tuna as well as the sauce on top was way too salty. I had to drink so much water to eat this. Would not come back again because the sushi is just not good. Expected a wowing experience for its price as well...

We ordered late night (11p) delivery using Ubereats after getting one of those postal mailers with a discount code for $15 of $30+. The restaurant itself is also running a promotion deal with BOGO for the salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, and lobster roll; we got the salmon avocado roll and lobster roll. Delivery was FAST, packaging is neat and makes it very portable, love the little containers of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger, excellent portions; as for freshness, it's decent for this price. Will we order again? Probably; it's a decent option considering the late hours.

Happy Tuna is the newest sushi delivery brand near Hudson Yards. The entire process is quick and seamless. Their to go packaging is super sleek and travels well! I picked up my box and ate it at Hudson Yards for a little family date with my sister. My favorites in the box included the salmon and the crab rolls.

So so good - cannot recommend it enough. We loved the scallop role, shrimp role, and crispy rice. The packing is so cute and love all the sauces on the side. 10/0 would recommend and order again

I am actually surprised by the food quality there in a good way, it doesn't taste like machinery or fast-foody anything, the sushi and sashimi are fresh even the miso soup, you can taste the original flavor of soy. Please keep it up, it's so important to stay consistent, (we wanna come back again)

Skip this place. Wegmans sushi is better and fresher. The crispy rice was so over cooked it couldn't be eaten. They clearly have never heard of sticky rice as this was mushier and and fell apart worse than if it had been uncle bens. The fish tasted okay, but smelled a bit. And they give you miso soup but no spoon. Move on.

This place was a random walk in but when I arrived I was so delighted! The lady who took my order was very helpful and lovely and showed me the options they had with patience. Would definitely recommend!

I went here with my friend when we were looking for a late night eat on our visit and we both loved the rolls we got!! We got the salmon avocado roll and the shrimp roll. The fish tasted high quality and super flavorful. I was honestly satisfied with every bite. The service was okayyy but I wouldn't say it was bad. Would definitely recommend for the yummy sushi!

I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll via Uber Eats. The quality and taste was surprisingly good. While the fish is minimal the spicy tuna sauce and fish go nicely with the rice and salty soy sauce are satisfying and yummy. The packaging was great. I plan to reorder.

The luxe box including two different types of sushi, edamame, crispy rice was fresh and plentiful. The box of different sauces was a treat. All the sushi was very fresh. We will return.

Hard to explain but everything is well executed, it's just that the sushi is not at all exceptional nor is the price. It aspires to be a chain I think. I will not order again, just not for me.

This place had some amazing sushi. It's very similar to Bondi in terms of quality and pricing. I definitely recommend the salmon avocado roll (it's my favorite). I've ordered from here a few times will continue to do so!

I order frequently from this place. They have very good 2 for 1 deals on some delivery platforms which I have liked a lot. Some orders have been hit or miss (I recommend ordering non-white fish) but I genuinely recommend it

Was going to order from them on ubereats because I have a $15 coupon but was extremely disappointed at the service fees they charge. Why offer a coupon code if you're going to charge $8 in fees anyways? Insane. Would be open to trying them for takeout in person only

Love the concept and after seeing a ton of cute tik toks about it I knew I had to try it. Sadly it didn't live up to the hype, except the packaging which is downright adorable. The nigiri was pretty sad and the sushi rice was bland and fell apart when picking them up to eat. The spicy tuna crispy rice was also just fine (low on flavor, rice overly fried), but I'd probably have it again if the price point felt better suited to the experience. Definitely, more of a $12.95 crispy rice than a $19.95 one.

Ubereats is a nightmare but the customer service and food is incredible. Will be ordering from them frequently and directly.
