London’s Best Chinese Takeaway | The Best Chinese Restaurants in London | Eater London

"The truth is, the best Chinese takeaways are the ones nearest to home, the ones which nightcap a potentially disastrous evening and send anyone off to bed with a smile. So in this spirit, the best takeaway in London is actually Happy Valley on Southampton Way at about 11.30 pm when the drunks are congregating outside and the older bald chef has finished his cigarette break and is back at the wok seasoned with a generation’s worth of chow meins. Crispy noodles with black bean sauce please. —JN" - Jonathan Nunn

The food here is great and the value for money is good. however the service is awful and they never seem to open at their advertised times. i stood outside today at 12.20 they had their door locked and an old woman staring through me with a blank look. Very strange and has put me off using this place going foward.

The food is good , but the person on the phone is rude , has no manners and does not take any accountability. Not too sure he should be on the phone. The guy is rude.

Super super yummy. The price is unbeatable and the hours are great for a night owl like myself. It’s right across the street from where I live but they also deliver free of charge! This is one of the best late night spots in Camberwell especially when I was having lots of people over

Thought I’d try somewhere new but wish I hadn’t. Salt and pepper chips were just french fries with some chilli flakes on them. Starters tasted like they’d come from a freezer that didn’t work properly. Beef in blackbean sauce was nice. TL;DR I wouldn’t bother

I come here once a week and get the stir fried beef hor fun (#222, £4) for lunch. Can't really vouch for anything else but this one hits the spot every time. Ask for chilli oil, fruity, fermented and spicy.

Had a terrible sweet and sour chicken here once. It was only £4 but I should've gone hungry instead. Unfriendly staff, dirty looking, bad vibes

The lunch time deals are amazing. £5 for soup, mini spring rolls and a main. I go there anytime because the food is really tasty.
