"Happy’s Irish Pub, a Baton Rouge import that opened in the CBD in 2011 with bartenders dressed in fetishized school girl outfits and the slogan ‘Happy’s girls make happy boys,’ has closed its doors and buttoned up the blouses to make way for something the owner hopes will be a better fit for the space: Copper Vine Winepub." - Stephanie Carter

The live band was great I enjoy being able to have a smoke while I drink and listen to the music. Great friendly atmosphere

Ryan Martin

Google
The most authentic Irish bar in all of Baton Rouge. Sarah the bartender is straight from the motherland. I can't recommend this place enough. Great people and great fun.

Came into town for the LSU / Florida football game and stumbled across this place. When you think of a neighborhood Irish pub this is it. We had great service along with some great cocktails. The next time we are in town for a game it will be on our short list of stops to go back and visit. Cheers!

Chelsea is the shit and all the girls are hot. No wait, great service, and friendly atmosphere.

Google
Awesome deals on drinks! Live music across the street the night we went

Google
Courtyard dive with cute bar staff, solid selection of LA draft beers, well constructed shelter roof that covers about 2/3 of the yard, big stage, picnic benches, plastic cups, mixed crowd 30ish. A guy without shirt with friends on a table seemed normal. Overall a tidbit seedy, just what a dive needs.

Google
Best Irish bar in Baton Rouge. Great mix of old and new inside. Love the add-on space. The patio space is excellent!

Google
This place and the staff are awesome. I've never had a single issue, the food is fantastic, the beer is cold, and I love the environment. I bought a T-shirt months ago that wasn't in stock and they shipped it to me at my current duty station. Absolute class and devotion. 10 out of 10 from me. I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night, the night before my friends wedding. There was a $5 cover charge and of course checking of IDs. There was live music, but there was some bad feedback from the mics. We got 2 cups of 16oz blue moon. This place has a pool area with some tables, a bar area with some tables, and an outside patio with a stage and some tables. Great place for friends to hangout. It could be a little hard to have conversations because it can be quite loud.

Yelp
I have had a love-hate relationship with Happys for many years. As with most bars, they have excellent servers mixed with those who just won't cut it. The servers are all females whose uniforms are very skimpy usually with their rears hanging out, and the bar backs are males. Being mostly a beer bar, I am always surprised when asking about recommendations of their new beer rotations or about what type of beer something is, there are always several of the girls who say they don't drink beer so they can't answer -- probably need to learn to adapt to the taste to help your customers make selections. Most of the ladies are good at the bar, though, and that helps when it gets really backed up. They adjusted during the pandemic and did table service for a short while, but thankfully that was short lived because that did not work out. Additionally, we have had issues on nights with large expected crowds (Live After Five on Fridays, Happys Running Club on Tuesdays) where they did not schedule enough people to work. I get staff shortage, but this has always been the case, and the girls who do show up are sometimes very unhappy about it and complain a lot to customers. i won't judge them for running out of beers (primarily Guinness all the time) as of late (pandemic time and on) because I am aware of the supply issues out there, but I find it annoying when they open the outdoor bar and don't test the taps. Several popular events happen throughout the week, and many times I have walked up as the bar just opened to request a beer and it sputters because the keg is tapped. Testing the taps would be helpful and lead to less frustration for the ladies as the line grows and they're flipping a keg out. Most of the time, a manager or bar back is nearby, but when it's multiple going out, the line can grow quickly. They have a pretty steady menu of beers inside, but their outside bar has the rotating taps. They have some great selections most of the time. Go during the week, and it's 2 for 1 (read: big cups of beer), and that's what makes it worth it for me. If you need to really loosen up, get a Happy Hooligan, their signature blue drink - i don't ask what's in it, but it's good. If you haven't been in a while, during the pandemic they updated the outside patio. A cover was added with a lot more (unbroken so far) picnic tables. Patio tables and chairs were added as well as some high tops. It looks a lot better and more welcoming, but it holds the sound in and the smoke from people's cigarettes and cigars. They added some TVs as well, and with the cover, they're out there even in cruddy weather. I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me. They have a side bar with a couple of pool tables and some seating if you want to get out the way. The bathrooms in this area are a lot nicer too than the main one. I think you can rent that area out as well. They have live music most weekends with a cover to get in. I try to avoid the weekends there because it gets way too crowded and way too loud. I guess that's a sign I'm getting older, but I really never have liked a weekend there.

Yelp
Happy's was recommended by someone we asked at a restaurant we were eating at. Nice place to hang out when you don't have anywhere else to go. It's just I didn't know they automatically add gratuity to your tab. I understand the credit card fee but an automatic gratuity 20% for 4 people!? I think they should say that somewhere, a sign, on their social media page, somewhere.

Timothy M.

Yelp
Last went tho Happy' son a Tuesday night. Only outdoor drinks. Place was hot and empty. Depressing. They should just close on weekday nights. Will only be back on a weekend.

Kevin M.

Yelp
$5 cover ??? For what? No live music.. worst of they don't even poor Guinness correctly and it's an Irish Pub!!! WTH

Billy R.

Yelp
We just happened to be there on St Patricks day and let me just say they did not disappoint. The band was great, the outside seating was perfect and the drinks were so cold, good, and cheep. The line for the bar was looooong but the drinks made up for it.

Robin C.

Yelp
$5 cover is crap... not enough business downtown to bother with that but we found that the cover paid at one place will also cover other places- so we paid it. Honestly the crap-rap music they were playing when we arrived was more a turnoff. The live band was good and the outdoor venue is cool but serving Guinness doesn't make you an Irish pub.

John R.

Yelp
As far as bars go, not bad. For an Irish pub? Pretty bad. ZERO Irish beers on tap (out of Guinness... 8pm on a Thursday night.) Irish beers in a can/bottle? They had two Guinness cans left... drank one and longingly look forward to my next trip to the Emerald Isle. (They did have a nice selection of Irish whiskey.) And the music? Couldn't figure out what they were going for. Initially hip-hop gangsta rap, went straight into pickup-truck country.

Lyle S.

Yelp
Pretty cool venue in downtown Baton Rouge. The place is small inside and very divey and warm. Outside offers a nice stage made of stained wood. The bar is full and offers all the standard stuff. The staff is nice and the uniforms that the wait staff wear are very easy on the eyes. If you're looking for a place to catch a drink and hAve some intimate conversation then this might be the place.

Teresa W.

Yelp
Great place to hang out with friends and have some cocktails or beers. Great live bands even on Sunday so if your in the downtown area or just heading looking for a cool place with live bands and great cocktails then this is your place

Ricky J.

Yelp
Visiting from California and the second we walked in bartender shouted at us they were closing in 15 min and that we could only order drinks to go. Mind you... it was 10:45pm the hours on google, and yelp all say opened until 2am. We still ordered drinks, but the bar tender treated us so poorly! She was so irritated that she had to serve us. I suggest you guys hire people who enjoy serving and like making people feel good. You're an Irish pub after all....

Heidi S.

Yelp
Happy's is an uncomplicated, slightly rough-around-the-edges pub on 3rd street. However, some recent updates have made it a little more upscale and inviting. The best part is the outdoor patio. Live music is almost always happening. The patio has been extensively updated to include a new full bar, pergola, cool fountain made out of old beer taps, new picnic tables and seating, trees, and string lights. It feels a lot less like a parking lot and definitely like a courtyard now. It was actually quite pleasant on an August night with a good breeze. The crowd was definitely enjoying it! I'm a little disappointed that they removed many of the games in the game room. It's now a piano bar. The piano music was nice and the new bar is a good addition, but my husband was sad to see the basketball game gone. There are still pool tables though. The updated parts of Happy's have turned it into less of a dive bar and more of a cool place to hang out. The live music was great. The drinks I think have gotten a little more expensive, and I was automatically given a double when I asked for a gin and tonic. It was $10. Not bad, but not amazing either. I guess since they've updated their look and feel, the updated prices reflect that. However, one gripe is that the bartender didn't know the difference between soda and tonic, but that was one small mistake. The drinks and beer selection were good anyway, and there was no cover which is always a plus.

Yelp
This is a nice place to stop in for drinks, a quick game of pool, and to catch up with friends. A really casual setting downtown in Baton Rouge. I love small, local places like this bar because it isn't too crowded and there's good company. I'd say it's a great location if you're bar hopping or simply hanging out- grabbing a drink.

Randy L.

Yelp
Now expanded happy s but it is still God ole habits to me. Sorry the Coursey location closed down but this one is nearby for me quite often as well. Staff dresses provocatively, usually friendly although sometimes more business like than friendly even though not extremely busy. Good selection of beer and decent happy hour with popcorn. The expanded happy s area appears to be a game room but perhaps not. There is an outdoor stage in the back which is good as well

Conor H.

Yelp
Beat bar hands down staff is absolutely amazing! Jessica and kyle are amazing! Being from reno Nevada i felt absolutely welcomed! !!

Chelsea D.

Yelp
Nice venue, creepy uniforms. I was pretty excited about the pool table, the back patio, and the clean bathrooms. Since it's Halloween I saw all these young girls in school girl outfits with half their ass hanging out and assumed it must be for Halloween. It wasn't until now I realized that was girls that worked there, and that was their uniforms. I saw male employees with pants and regular shirts for uniforms. I find this to be really god damned creepy and degrading.

Erin T.

Yelp
The drinks here are okay, the mixed ones are a little week but the price is pretty good. Also the restroom is actually CLEAN which never happens at a pub! I'll probably go back.

Julie J.

Yelp
I love this place! Maybe because it was a good night, but my friend bought me the best beer! I recently visited Ireland, too and they have the best beers in general and reminded me of the pubs. Best part was that the drinks are awesome and cheap and it was a super chill atmosphere. There was also a comedian next door which was a cool break in between too. Definitely going to come back!

Monica T.

Yelp
What a sweet little joint to hangout and play darts! Whiskey and beer selection exceeds my expectations for a bar like this. Don't let the Size upon entry fool you though...the back has two pool tables and more!

Brad R.

Yelp
Great Pub, with a lived in atmosphere. The decor isn't anything to write home about, but then again that's not why we were there. We bellied up to the bar to have a few pints of Guinness! Service was great and the fresh popcorn was a treat. Great selection of beer!!!! Great service and a good atmosphere.

Shelly T.

Yelp
First time to Baton Rouge and we stayed at the Watermark. HIP is next door! It was so wonderful to be able to sit outside and have a drink and listen to music. The staff is awesome! A must visit when in town!

Ron M.

Yelp
Cool little place to escape in downtown BR. I love the Irish bar concept. If for a brief moment takes you away from the BR grind. The staff here are very friendly and quick to check on you and make sure you are having a good time. I love the patio out back. They get some pretty good bands on the weekends. We had a good sized group and they were able to accommodate us all easily. The drink specials were very good. The manager David is a class act.

Bob B.

Yelp
Decent dive bar downtown, close to hotels, 2 blocks to river. Concrete floors, loud music, loud people, cheap beer. Carve your initials in the tables, and sing at the top of your lungs. Nobody cares. Fun

Vyanette A.

Yelp
Good vibes, good drinks and an overall nice place to start off your night! Will be coming again!

Mandy B.

Yelp
Had a group of 6. We walked in, were greeted by dogs and a friendly bartender. We sat down and 20 minutes later walked out. There were only 3 other people in the place and we hadnt even been asked for a drink order.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Happy's has an awesome game room in the back and a nice outdoor seating area. Local venue offering awesome drink specials served by some beautiful Happy's girls! Be sure to grab a green beer here if you're in town! (Free popcorn too!)

Zack L.

Yelp
Alexis is the best bartender ever! Very attentive. Remembers my beer preference. Always polite. Only reason I still come to happys.

Felicia G.

Yelp
Happy's is one of my favorite places to drink. While their beer selection is small compared to places like Chimes or Draft House, the girls there are sweet and friendly and, overall, provide exceptional service. I have yet to meet a cocktail that wasn't balanced / well mixed or, if it wasn't, was generously poured. They often have live music in the back, and their game room is FANTASTIC. I'm a personal fan of the shuffleboard table, and I can say without reservation that they have the BEST pool tables and cues of any bar downtown. Also, I'm a sucker for popcorn, which they provide free of charge ;-P

Thomas E.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite bar downtown. The new game room is awesome if you want to kick back with some friends after work on a Friday. The drinks aren't to expensive and the bartenders have always been nice and quick with getting my drink. The 5ks on Tuesday are also a good chance to get a little mid week work out in while you meet people, and they usually have some live music out back afterwards. If you live close by and frequent this place, buy a mug for around 30 bucks that they will keep at the bar for you. It's bigger than a regular glass and you get a small plaque hung up in the bar with a quote of your choosing. It will make you feel like a local even if your not.

Missie T.

Yelp
This is not a Irish pub. It is a sad bar with an Irish facade. Pop music is all that is played and the workers barely know what's on tap when it's in front of them. This place has no personality.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Gotta stop by if you are from out of town and go party! Great live band side and then the piano bar ! This place is rocking, the girls are great

Naveed B.

Yelp
Happy's Irish Pub? I don't understand how they think they can call this place a pub. It looks like a pub, but it sure as hell doesn't feel like one. It feels like any other super generic bar in Baton Rouge. This place is really small. Like ludicrously small for the amount of people that sometimes come here. You cant even move. When it's like this, good luck ordering a drink. You are only getting something in a reasonable amount of time when you know one of the bartenders. The only time you will get decent service here is when they aren't very packed. Some nights they will open the back patio and have bands play there. When they do this it's a lot easier to get a drink as they put a temporary bar outside. One of the main draws for this place is the bartenders. It's kind of like a Hooters/Twin Peaks type outfit that the bartenders and waitresses wear. I don't like this place at all, but it's not the worst bar in Baton Rouge. There have also been times where I've come here and had a good time, just that those times are very rare.

Coffelite Z.

Yelp
I came down from Lafayette, LA. I loved the live band enjoy it. But the service is lacking, The waitress Bree did you ask us for last call at 10:45 went up to good bar ask for a bloody Mary and she said last call was alright done. So she said what do u want I said a Bloody Mary, they didn't have the stuff to make it, so I took my cranberry and vodka and sat down and at 5 minutes til got told I need to leave because the door was being locked. The Service sucks.

J S.

Yelp
Long-time drinker; first-time Yelper. Happy's has become like a second home thanks to the great service, great drinks and great conversation. Alex is the best! Transcendent. #FreeKodak

Jake R.

Yelp
I had an incredible experience being waited at Happy's! Alexis is a great bartender who made sure my drinks were ready and on time! I highly recommend the bar, especially because of the excellent service I received. :)

Casey H.

Yelp
Like Irish pubs, beer and Jameson? Happys is a must stop in down town Baton Rouge. 2 for 1 happy hours every day. (3-8?) Happys running club runs a 5k every Tuesday at 6:15pm rain or shine. Live music after. They have a great a great selection of beers on tap and mix drinks.

Trevor R.

Yelp
Great Irish pub. Considering it's not owned by authentic irish pub owners, they do a great job of keeping the irish pub feel. It's definitely not authentic, but very enjoyable. I am a Guinness lover but only drink it out of regularly rotated taps which there are only a couple in Baton Rouge. The crowds at Happys are always great and I almost always have fun here. The space is a little constrained but you can go out back where they build a nice wooden stage and there is plenty of space.

Scott J.

Yelp
Serena the bartender was rude. Fun bar but she was bummer. Otherwise this would be a fun place.

Christiana Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in BTR. Great drink specials and the bartenders always remember me. They usually have live music and they have a game room. I enjoy coming to run their 5k on Tuesdays and my favorite day of the month is St. Practice Day, which is on the 17th of each month and has better specials than usual! (Did someone say $1 green beers?)

Daniel M.

Yelp
It's 5 o' the clock on a Friday night and the sky's clear. I've just arrived downtown after trying on 3 different short/shirt combinations at my house. Why? Well, it's Live After 5 in the Red Stick and I don't want to look like a bum. After taking a nice low level parking space in the 3rd Street Garage, I make my way down the road. As if on cue, the phone buzzes. It's Robby B. and he wants to know the haps. "I guess meet me at Happy's" is my reply. Along the way I bump into Mike D. and his lovely bride (I think) as they enjoy a drink on the patio of Lucy's. Pleasant conversation is followed by cordial goodbyes as I see my homies coming down the boulevard. Robby B. is decked out in obnoxious aviators that he swears are his style, and Glynna M. is resplendent in whatever it was she was wearing...because she's always resplendent. Oh wait, here comes Wesley M. around the corner. Obligatory uniform of an LSU shirt is right were we expect it to be. High fives are exchanged and we make our way to Happy's. Two for One Beer is in full effect. They don't really give you two, they give you a giant cup and call it two. I'm pretty sure it holds about 32oz. That's a big ass beer. We all pick our poison and, since we're fairly early, are able to take a seat in the corner booth by the window. Hi-jinks ensue. By this time, several more have joined our troupe of toasting tribesmen (and women), and Glynna has already started standing on the bench, shaking her booty in Michael's face. But hey, it's her birthday weekend, so all bets are off. We spend a little time admiring the salacious graffiti covering pretty much every square inch of the ancient brick walls, grab another round and make our way to the concert stage down the street. Our usual routine is to make our way back to Happy's every time we need a refill, but these monster cups got a hold of me. I remarked to my friend that I had already drank 2 quarts of beer in less than 2 hours. That being said, we made our way back to Happy's and I indulged in one of their fine Vodka and Red Bull beverages. Not really fine. No different than anywhere else, but I needed a wake up. We retired to the back patio because inside was way too smoky and crowded for my tastes. The outside patio is a very large space with a place for bands to play. I've seen many. I've come back to specifically see only a couple of them, but the open area and its own bar are very convenient. They also have port-o-lets out there...and I'm a dude...so it works for me. We hung out for a little while longer then made our way to the Radio Bar (still trying to decide how I'm gonna write that review...).

Sarah W.

Yelp
Happy's is typically the bar we choose to go to when downtown! They have an awesome back patio and an awesome piano bar room. Our favorite bartender is Alexis. She's always so full of energy and even remembers our typical drink orders!

James M.

Yelp
Hot bartenders, great atmosphere, and the Happy Hour is marvelous. 2-4-1 draft pints means a whole quart of Abita Andygator for $5.50...wahoo! I am coming back more often.

Aaron R.

Yelp
Looking for a nice dive bar? This is a good one! Couple tv's and sexy bartendresess. Easy to get sucked in!! I only came for a few beers and ended up staying for longer. Good place to go for some alcohol.

Jon C.

Yelp
Still a great place to chill, especially with music on the patio, but why'd they get rid of the schoolgirl outfits for the bartenders?! Any plans to bring them back?

Allie S.

Yelp
Enjoying drinks. Service was fast and music was fun! The outdoor performers were fun and interactive and the inside music was appealing to all different ages.

Anthony E.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here!! I work on a paddlewheel ship that stops in Baton Rouge every week and this place always treats us great! The girls behind the bar are always smiling and working hard! You rarely ever see them just standing around which is refreshing! Always very attentive and are quite knowledgeable about all of their drafts! We had a girl with us that was on a diet but still wanted to come out and the bartender gave her so many options of drinks and even knew calorie counts! I was a bit skeptical and checked and she was spot on! Can't thank this team enough for always making my experience a pleasant one! I make it. Point to go in every time we are in port!

Angelique B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Cleanest bathrooms on 3rd Street! Great bartenders! Always have fun when we are there!

Jason B.

Yelp
Went here for a little concert after the spanish town mardi gras parade and it was a cool little set up in the back. Tons of places to sit, but tons of places to dance too. Band was good, drinks were good, things were happy at Happy's.

Chris S.

Yelp
I come here once a week for the Tuesday runs, definitely like those. Their atmosphere is nice. I have enjoyed some basic cocktails there too.
