Came here before heading to the beach. Had the large 3 piece fish dish that came with fries. It was very good. The kids had corn dog and chicken fingers. With a lot of fries. Which was good. Service was ok at the counter. But it was to be expected. I really liked the fish. Price is a little high, but so it the places near by. I do recommend.

I cruised over to catch some waves at the beach, kicked back for a solid two hours soaking up the sun. Decided to grab a bite at this rad local joint with killer ocean views. Chilled at the bar, taking in the epic ocean scenery. Met a cool lady next to me, perfect for solo surfers looking to chat. The food was on point, especially the fish and chips - totally hit the spot. You gotta try some of the other tasty items on the menu, it's all listed right here. Had a blast, and don't forget, they'll hook you up with an extra drink for a small fee. The patio vibes were awesome, and the servers were top-notch - super friendly and welcoming. Stoked on this spot, highly recommend checking it out!

If you're ever in the Oceanside Harbor, I highly recommend Harbor Fish and Chips. It could be the best I've ever eaten. Delicious food and huge portions ! I also got the Combo this time, with shrimp. I love shrimp and these were excellent. You can also sit outside and watch the boats and birds and quite often, sea lions. Very fun outing for lunch. Afterward you can buy some souvenirs at the nearby little shops.

Located at the marina in Oceanside, this is a very casual restaurant with ample seating both inside and out. To start off, they cook with avocado oil. This must be a new thing since there was a sign at the entrance. Everything we ordered was light, crispy, season perfectly and was cooked up upon order. The portions were pretty generous, and the fish filet was huge. You can either get coleslaw or fries as your “chips”. The clam chowder was just OK, but it was still a very, very satisfying meal. Service was quick and very friendly.

I love seafood and I love that this place is right in the marina. I visited on a Friday while strolling around the Oceanside marina. First time here and a very positive experience. The menu has daily specials, for Friday it was the sampler platter for $23 (if I remember correctly). The fish and chips were super fresh but could had used more seasoning. Very casual, friendly staff.

The fish and chips are so good and they’re huge. The fries are nothing special but the coleslaw is worth trying. Normally fried food makes me feel gross but since they use avocado oil we had no problems. If you’re in the area definitely try it out!

Casual spot with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Order at the counter then they call out the number once your food is ready. You get your own utensils, napkins and sauces. Also malten vinegar and hot sauce were on each table. We stopped after a long morning at the beach and it was the perfect vacation lunch with the view and breeze in the marina. Fish and shrimp were light and crispy and my 5 year old ate 2 pieces so you know that's a win! Even though cooked perfectly it was a bit bland to my taste but with tartar sauce it definitely hit the spot. Fries were crispy and cole slaw was fresh. Prices were okay considering the location.

Yummy Alaskan cod fish and chips deep fried in avocado oil. We had the three pieces, two pieces with shrimp, and clam chowda. Clow slaw came with the three pieces of cod and was fresh made as it was crunchy and not saturated with mayo. You order up in the front and eagerly await your number to be called. The hot orders of seafood was great. Chowda rivals the best in Boston. The chips was the only thing that lagged at the same level of all the other foods we eat. Malt vinegar, lemons, tartar sauce, and ketchup are great accompaniments. The casual offered seating outside and we enjoyed shaded picnic style tables with great views of the boats and harbor. For credit card purchases, be prepared for a 3% fee.

Awesome! Not often do I say that, for an order at the counter, fast food place. But Harbor Fish & Chips was awesome! And sitting out by the Harbor watching the boats come and go and the setting sun, amazing! Full disclosure, I'm not a big fish fan, unless it's shellfish, I don't like the fishy taste and everyone tells you, "this doesn't taste fishy" and it does. And this was the best fish I've ever had. It was so delicious melt in your mouth and literally no fish flavor at all. We had the Fish Taco, it's big, hanging out on both ends with their fried fish. 5/5 Shrimp, battered and a little spicy (not hot just flavor) flavor to it. 5/5 Fish and chips, so tender and yummy! 5/5 Comes with fries or Cole Slaw. Cocktail sauce, Tartar sauce and katchup plus other available condiments. I noticed they had hamburgers and chicken sandwiches available as well, but truly you should try the fish! Must try place in San Diego for fast food!

Probably and easily the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Firstly, they only have cod for their fish and chips. If you know fish, you know thats the worst to have cause is not even fulfilling or meaty. Is a skinny strip covered with fried batter. The taste was horrible, I had to use extra salt and at least their fish sauce was good. I kept dipping the fish on it. Don't even get me started on the fries. Hard and slightly burnt. No flavor other than their avocado oil. Needless to say, I went to my room with a stomach ache that is lasting a little longer than I'd like. My escort had the fish tacos. Same, it look gigantic and he was so excited but it deflated as he took a bite. Same kind of deal a ton of fried batter and a skinny slice of cod. 50 bucks wasted. I don't recommend it at all. It was rather empty compared to the other spots and now I know why. Will not be coming back and I hope to forget the whole experience.

Huge portion and great harbor views. Portions are HUGE, we coulda and shoulda shared. Walk up style to place order and then get your drinks and condiments while you wait. Fish and shrimp combo was good, leftovers will make a nice fish taco.

SUCH BIG FISHHH!! I think one of the biggest fish i ever had but it was as very good! They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and there is nearby free parking. Vibes are right at the beach so perfect for fish and chips. Im also obsessed with the coldslaw.

We took our entire family here for dinner the other night! We got the fish and chips, shrimp, coleslaw, and chicken strips. Everything was very good! We did not have to wait long for our large order. We also had a beautiful harbor view while we ate dinner! Harbor Fish and Chips did not disappoint!

OMG I'm still dreaming of the food from here. Made a stop on the way to San Diego and I wish I had not because I want more! Lol The harbor was busy and parking can be difficult to find. The guy working the counter was welcoming and friendly and took our order quickly. There are quite a few tables inside and outside as well. We got the sampler plate which comes with fish, shrimp, fries, clam chowder and coleslaw. This was the best fried fish I've ever had. The batter was crispy with good flavor it didn't even need the malt vinegar or tartar sauce. Best clam chowder I've had to date and coleslaw was so fresh and tasty. I would definitely drive out of my way to come back and eat here again!

Loved this place!! First off I never even knew this little harbor existed but it was a pleasant surprise. Found parking about a block away and took a stroll right past Joes Crab shack over into Harbor Fish & Chips. There are nice tables outside and quite a few inside. Walked right up and the kind young man took my order, it was all very quick and simple. I got my ticket and found a seat. The decor is cool with large shark teeth behind plexiglass and more fish up on the walls. My order came out super fast!! My piece of fish was large, hot, crispy and flakey!! The fries are your average fries nothing special. There is a help yourself soda machine, and station for ketchup & tartar sauce On the tables are napkins and my personal favorite malt vinegar. I sat alone and devoured my meal, it was really good I only wished I had gotten a two piece. I will come back when I'm in the area, I can't wait!!

For some good solid fish and chips and clam chowder, Harbour Fish & Chips is our go-tonplace when traveling in the northern San Diego County. The Harbour view provides a nice and relaxing ambience on a warm and sunny day...pretty much most of the year! Prices are typical, seafood options are typical of these restaurants, and service is what you'd expect at these casual fast casual places. There is dining inside and outside. I've not dined indoors nor their covered patio. It's not the embassy and cleanest so I opt foe one of the outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas. If your lucky, you can grab one that has been just vacated and cleaned off. This is probably the downside to this place is the lack of attentive service and cleanliness. But we love the food here and especially dining alfresco.

This location gives old school vibes and lives up to its name. I love that the interior looks like it did when it opened in the sense of nostalgic. The food was very good hearty meal. The staff was friendly, and made some suggestions. Really glad I was able to try a local spot that's not commercialized would absolutely come back!

We were super happy with our experience here! The food came out really quick and everything was fresh and hot. The clam chowder had more potato than clams which was fine but the flavor was delicious. We sat outside next to the boats in the harbor since it was a beautiful day and really enjoyed that atmosphere.

I definitely had better. We were supposed to go to another restaurant. However, I saw that this place had Clam Chowder. Well, I should've gone to the other restaurant. The food wasn't bad. It's better than a fast-food fish joint, but it wasn't impressive.

Absolutely massive portion sizes! This fish was crispy and delicious. The tartar sauce was just right and the harbor views were gorgeous. This area is so cute to walk around, grab a snack, and enjoy the view!

While hanging out at the beach. I started craving fish. This place was right across the street and they had the best fried fish (Cod). The views of the water is good. The fish hit the spot. We got Three with a side order of coleslaw which was very good and they are generous with their servings. As soon as we walked in the guy took our order the service was prompt. Everything was delicious and whenever we are staying in Oceanside we will definitely return. The next time we will dine in.

Such a cute find mannnnn. Just got done with a boat tour and saw a crowd at this place. Heard an old lady passing by say she's gotten fish and chips here since she was little. Sold. Asked and paid for 1 fish and chips and they gave me two :) better than Gordon Ramsey's fish and chips in NYC. Love me a restaurant ran by youths, it really screams summer!

We have been going to that place for over 10 years. The fish is always fresh and they make the best coleslaw! Fries are not too g, but their burgers are not bad!

I wanted give a 5 star but I just couldn't. Great location right on the dock. The service was great they are very friendly and welcoming. The only thing was the fish wasn't that good. It was just okay. Just not much flavor.

It's been years since I had harbor fish and chips and it still tastes great! We decided to walk the harbor and down to the beach. On the way back it was a perfect spot to eat before heading home. I loved that they had an ingredient book handy for when I told them about my daughter's allergies. Service was friendly, we must of got there right when people were leaving because we got a table real quick and the food came out fast. Everything was amazing and they have a nice sauce area to grab yourself. Inside was very shark and fishing theme and my son loved it. The fish was well battered and hot and the French fries were fried to perfection. It's a great day trip if you looking for something to do for a few hours

Very oily claim chowder made my stomach little upset. All the food greasy not my cup of tea.

Nothing bad to say, nice fish and chip plate, better view of the marina. Birds seem to love it. Self order and pick up so no service notes. Plenty of free parking so I like that, fun good walk around the marina. Cole slaw is a killer!! Best I've had in a while.

Service: seated immediately, we chose the patio as we had our dogs with us and didn't want to disturb anyone. Very friendly hostess & wait staff, professional and courteous. Ambiance: the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, fresh ocean breeze and sunshine, simple picnic tables and seating, very casual. Food: Fish & chips To Die For. Scrumptious Clam Chowder. This is probably the fifth time I've been here in the last 10 years, and it never fails to impress.

I love this place. I used to go with my grandparents when I was a kid and now love to take my daughter here every opportunity I can. My wife loves the food as well.

Great service, great location awesome setup both inside and out with view of the harbor and boats. Food was decent, not bad but not creating a memory. Fish /shrimp was good, fish sandwich was not what I expected at all. Broken fried fish stick in a MCD's burger bun. Maybe I was just expecting too much like a Pt Loma Seafoods sammich... Cole slaw and clam chowder were good.

Wow as you'd expect they know how to cook fish and chips! Portions are generous and flavorful. Love that it's cooked in avocado oil really light and not nearly as greasy or leaving that fat aftertaste. Clam strips were clean and perfectly cooked. Service is quick for fish etc seems a bit of a wait on burgers but then again why eat a burger here. Forgot to take pictures of the food of all the "taxidermies"

I was really craving fish and chips and glad I came across this spot. I got the sampler which is a great value for all you get! You get a big piece of a fish, 2 shrimps, a lot of fries, clam chowder, and coleslaw, plus a bunch of sauces for dipping. All of it was very fresh and the breading was crisp. This place is right on the harbor but there's also a cute little surfers beach just a short walk away where I was able to eat and watch the sunset on the beach. This is a great fish and chip spot in Oceanside!

Try the fish taco or clam chowder in a bowl, fish and chips are amazing and everything else is great. Employees are always kind and helpful.

This is a very fun, casual restaurant at the Oceanside Harbor. It's been there for as long as I can remember! I love the old school paintings on the walls and the big swordfish hanging from the ceiling. They are really good at frying food. The quality of the fish is great, but I think they put too much breading on their fish. This is a place where you order at the counter and pick up your food when they call your number. The prices are a bit high, but I think it's all about the location. If you love fish and chips, I think this is a great place to try. I think the servings are generous. I couldn't finish my order.

This is the second time that my friend I have dined here. Obviously, the fish is fresh, and they cook it in avocado oil, which is healthier I guess. The fish are fillets, not patties, which is good. The food is tasty and better than most places. I was tempted to get the two-piece plate because I was hungry, but decided to go with the single-piece plate since it would be good for me to lose a pound or two. The one-piece plate was certainly enough for me. I was satiated at the end of the meal. I did not catch the lady's name who took our orders, but she was animated and friendly. She acted like she knew us and was happy that we finally showed up. That was nice. The ambiance was what you would expect for a place right on the harbor. It is okay for a group of people, but I doubt I would take a date there, not for the first date. But later on maybe. In the words of the Terminator, "I'll be back."

My Daughter recommended this location as I'm visiting from out of town and I wanted fish and chips. The fish was cooked to perfection. I wasn't keen on the chips, a.k.a. fries. I also ordered a fish taco and unfortunately the taco shell was poorly cooked!!! The customer service was awesome and I really did like being able to sit out and view the marina so I'll give the ambience and A+ .

Honestly, I went here to eat and just got the sampler as it's a good choice to go with. Good wasn't great, the fish was oily and it was okay. Shrimp was fine, the fries a little soft for my taste. The slaw was nice, and the chowder was extremely boring and plain. Nothing was downright horrible, but it isn't really something I would want to pay money for to eat again. To be nice, the environment was nice, and the setting of the place was good. The server was also really nice and kind, so that was a plus on the establishment at least. Overall nothing was horrible, but wouldn't be a place I would necessarily recommend.

I think they have some of the Best fish & chips (definitely referring to the fish itself) their fried shrimp is also really good. Hearty portions. Super friendly staff too.

Stopped here tonight for dinner. We all ordered fish and chips.i had 2 pieces of fish and they were huge. Cooked nicely outside had light crisp coating . Fries were also good. The tartar sauce was actually not good. It was missing relish. Tasted like straight mayonnaise. Being from New England I know good tartar sauce. I would go again nice sitting on the dock price was not excessive.

The place is pretty cool with all the d eco and history on the walls. Right next to the harbor and beach. Staff was friendly with an easy menu. Unfortunately the fish and chips basket fell short. Yes the pieces are long but the fish was super thin, having more batter than fish. Then it was soooo oily and greasy. They put the fish on top of the fries making them soggy and greasy. This establishment being right on the harbor would think to make a better fish and chips.

Omgosh! Fantastic fish and chips. Beat we've ever had. We've been all Over the coast and this place beats them all. The outside of the fish was crispy and the inside moist and flavorful! The ahrimp also too notch! Cole slaw also good. No one can beat the ambiance sitting outside looking at the boats in the harbor. The service was also excellent. The guy taking out order noticed our bracelets showing where we were staying and told us we got 10% off. Def 10 out of 10! We'll be back!

I was thrown off by the Chicken sandwich. Not your traditional sandwich. Instead it's a 3 piece tender sandwich. Great service. The fried pickles were amazing. Breading was perfect and super crunchy.

Really enjoyed this spot before the drive back to AZ. The people were really friendly and helpful when ordering and the food was phenomenal! The batter on the fried fish was light and crispy and the coleslaw was exactly what coleslaw should be creamy with a slight crisp and very tasty. And especially loved the clam chowder and wish I could have ate a gallon of it. We will definitely be returning next time we are in town. We also thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside at a bench taking in all the activity of the marina.

The food was fresh and amazing. They now use avocado oil to fry in making the fish light and crispy. The fish and chips basket came with either coleslaw or French fries. Both were equally delicious! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. With quality ingredients and large portions, we will definitely make this restaurant a must when vacationing in Oceanside!

Great size fish, freshly fried! French fries are crisp and yummy! Chowder is top notch! We love it here! The service is quick and they'll let you know if there is a wait. Ambiance is fun and lots of local history on the walls to keep you entertained. Highly recommend our local home town hero fish and chips!

I have been coming here my whole life!! Such a relaxing scenery to watch while eating in a casual environment. Always a bargain, we order 3 piece with fries and share it ($20.99)!! We also order extra crispy.for fries and fish, even better!! The fish is fresh and a large piece and the fries are big and fresh potatoes!! YUM!! The only con is that I do really like their tartar sauce but it is always in a container with ice packs around them and they are never cold. I always worry about how long they've been out etc. If I could make a suggestion is to change out hourly and have someone be in charge of checking it more often! Thank you!! Also to maybe double wrap ice packs ans put one large one on the bottom as well.

We were at the nearby Mission and a local fellow recommended Harbor to us. Great suggestion! Thank you, friend. The fish is exquisite. Thin crispy batter, huge portions, and so delicate inside. And even better with the perfectly mixed tartar sauce. The beans...oy vey. Almost had to spit it out. SUPER sweet with a brown sugar and ketchup syrupy texture. For us, totally inedible.

I've been recovering from a back + leg injury and was STOKED to get a green light to head out to beach with fam and friends. We picked one of the busiest days, and man, parking was a total nightmare. But man, these fish and chips made ALL the hassle to find parking worth it. I was craving something crispy to lift my spirits, and this spot delivered! The texture and crispiness was spot-on. It was precisely what we needed after spending a long day at the beach.  The consistency and crispiness of the fish and chips delivered instantaneous comfort. It was the perfect thing to eat on our way out from Oceanside. The batter was slightly salty with a crunchy shell and had just the right amount of seasoning. Paired with a cold beer made it a solid pick to wrap up our day at Oceanside. No joke parking was a drag, but these fish and chips make everything ok.

Food was good, overlooking the harbor. Outdoor seating and pet friendly. Definitely recommend this place for good food on a nice day out.

The best fish and chips I've had in years. Crispy, not greasy, super tasty (they use avocado oil). The service was friendly, the food came out fast and our whole group enjoyed all of the food. The setting right on the edge of the harbor is cute and has that old Europe harbor feel. All in all, a 5 star experience.

I asked Danny my friend to meet me at the Harbor Fish & Chips Restaurant at 4 p. m. today. Then we both parked in this free parking lot across the street from the Oceanside Harbor. We both walked towards the Oceanside Harbor Fish & Chips Restaurant. Me and Danny walked inside this restaurant, I had already saw about three customers who were waiting patiently in line to place their orders with Devin who was working at the front counter. Then it was my turn to place my order with Devin. Devin greeted me with his friendly personality. Devin then told me that he is ready to take my order now. I decided to order (one small bowl on the Clam Chowder), it includes one small package of salted crackers. The price was $7.00. I also ordered the (Large, 3 pieces of Cod Fish Fillets) it comes with either (Cole Slaw, Green Salad, French Fries or Baked Beans). I chose the (regular size French Fries). The price was $19.75. My beverage was the (one regular size cup on the Fanta Orange Soft Drink). The price was $3.50. My total bill was $30.25. Danny my friend he had ordered the exact same food on their menu. It had taken the cooks in the kitchen about 20 minutes to cook our order and then I heard Devin had called out my order number 42. Danny and I walked up to the front counter this afternoon and we separately picked up our own orders. I just wanted to sit down at a booth and eat my Clam Chowder and my 3 pieces of my Cod Fish Fillets with my French Fries during our dinner time meal. Danny finally had chosen a good booth for us to sit down and eat our food. I then walked over to the condiments area located in the back part of their restaurant. I filled up one small container with just Ketchup in it. The other small container I filled up with their Tartar Sauce to dip my 3 pieces of these Cod Fish Fillets into. Then I walked back towards our booth and I sat down again. I ate the Clam Chowder with the salted crackers that I had used as the topping. Their Clam Chowder has pieces of potatoes, fresh clams, and parsley in a creamy based soup. This clam chowder was as I remember it which was very hearty tasting. Then I used a plastic fork to cut in half one of these large size Cod Fish Fillets. The outer piece was deep fried to a golden brown color and the exterior was very crispy. The Cod Fish Fillet was really flavorful and delicious! My Fanta Orange Soft Drink was the perfect beverage to quench my thirst. I enjoyed eating two of these really large pieces of these Cod Fish Fillets and I also ate some of the French Fries. I was very full and I couldn't eat the third piece of the Cod Fish Fillet and I also had left over French Fries. Danny my friend ate everything. Danny said he also had enjoyed eating the 3 pieces of the Cod Fish Fillets and their Clam Chowder. I couldn't eat another bite. I asked Devin if he can give me a box and a bag to bring my left over food home with me. Devin was very helpful in giving me a large size box and he also gave me a bag to go along with my box to place my left overs into. Devin's friendly personality made me feel good about eating at their Oceanside Harbor Fish & Chips Restaurant. I received excellent customer service from Devin. I told Devin I will come back again at a later date and eat at their restaurant again.

Are you a sociopath? I have been enjoying Harbor Fish & Chips for almost 20 years. My wife for about 35+ some odd years give or take on a good day. This place is fantastic for families, tourists, and locals. Huge mix of people enjoying the fresh O-side taste. Don't be afraid of the lines or intimidated by the ordering counter. The people up there are friendly and ready to get you the right meal experience. The fish- mmmMMMMmmm. How else can you describe the perfect fried fish. I lived in Alaska and this is reminiscent of some the best I've ever had. Onion rings- crunchy and perfectly cooked. (No ranch available) The coleslaw - so fresh and dressed to perfection. Not under dressed like the people walking by. Not overdressed like being on an Amish farm. Burgers - if you're not a fish fan they have other menu items that will make you just as happy and full. Oceanside has more beautiful days than poor days. Enjoy a seat outside in the sun. If it's not your cup of tea then you can sit inside. If you're cold but want to see the harbor then there is a seat in the enclosed patio. Either way it's all first come/seat yourself. You really have to be a sociopath if you can't find something you like at Harbor Fish & Chips.
