"What better place to bring a pal from the airport for an immediate fix of chargrilled or raw oysters? With a seafood store on one side and an expanded dining area on the other, Harbor Seafood delivers the freshest seafood in po’ boys and platters, along with Cajun ingredients in the swamp platter, which includes alligator two ways. Open for lunch and dinner daily. Potent drinks too." - Beth D’Addono

Google
I can’t complain about anything except the lack of attention to my water glass. Food was flavorful and the over breading allowed the flavor of the Grilled oysters to come through extremely nicely. Their oysters are every bit as good as all the reviews claim; just short of amazing!

Google
This traditional Louisiana-style seafood restaurant keeps it simple but delivers solid seafood. I sat at the bar, where service was quick and friendly. The lunch special—two softshell crabs, onion rings, and bread—was a steal at around $15. With plenty of seating and a convenient location just off the main road, about 10 minutes from the airport, it’s an easy-to-find spot for a satisfying meal. Most items were fried but there are some that wasn't that I have yet tried.

Google
Cute restaurant. However, the hostess is a little standoffish. We weren't greeted upon entering the restaurant. it was mostly empty, but when asked to sit at a different table one or two over from being on top of the party behind us, she told us the tables were closed.. smh. Decided to stay and glad we did our waitress was simply amazing, super friendly and offered suggestions. We decided on seafood boils. We added garlic butter sauce, and it changed the flavor totally. Without that sauce, the meal would have gotten a 3 in my book. We did head on shrimp, corn, potatoes, and mushrooms. It's definitely not your typical seafood boil, but it was OK. The prices were good for what we ordered and we even got to hear the employees complain with the hostess by the entrance about the other employees not there smh.

Google
I do not write reviews for restaurants. I honestly don’t have the time or want too usually. However, this restaurant deserves all the attention and praise I can afford to a restaurant. The staff was amazing, my party was greeted promptly and my waitress answered every question we may have had. I’m a simple person. I want good service and even better food. This place hit on every mark for me. The char-boiled oysters were absolutely amazing. Some of the best I have had in my life. I have been all over the Gulf and have never experienced such deliciousness. This is a place I will come back to often. I’m an out of towner but visit areas frequently. Hands down this was an amazing experience.

Google
Not gonna lie...I have eaten here 5 nights out of 7. The crawfish is delicious and plentiful. The oysters are LARGE and yummy. The char grilled oysters made me realize I haven't been enjoying oysters properly. It was ALL GOOD to me.

Google
Stopped here the other day for some seafood. I've been here ages ago but couldn't remember if I liked it or not. They always seem busy, so I usually go try some place new. I'm glad we came. Their Charbroiled Oysters were pretty good. The Half and half Gator appetizer was very good. Shrimp Poboy had a great flavor. And I had the Fried Seafood combo, which tasted really good! The only issue was that our server neglected to come around after the food came out to ask if we needed anything like more water/drinks. So we didn't order any desserts.

Google
A True Kenner Treasure Harbor Seafood & Oyster Bar in Kenner is an absolute gem—one of those lovely finds that makes you feel like you struck gold. From the moment you walk in, the laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff make it clear you’re in for a treat. The food? Simply outstanding. The crawfish étouffée was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—a comforting taste of Louisiana done right. The hush puppies were golden, crisp on the outside and tender inside, the kind you can’t stop reaching for. And the oyster seafood Caesar? A total standout—fresh, bold, and beautifully balanced with just the right amount of Southern flair. What made the experience even better was the sweet and attentive wait staff. They were warm, helpful, and made us feel right at home without ever being overbearing. It’s the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, Harbor Seafood & Oyster Bar is the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. Delicious food, great service, and a cozy, welcoming vibe—what more could you ask for?

Google
Service was beyond outstanding. The food was great. Crawfish sizes were a bit mixed, but the restaurant can't really control that. The charbroiled oysters were divine, out of this world. Will definitely return.

Yelp
I had my own Girls Day-trip to New Orleans with 4 friends on April 40, 2024. While we did not have the Tiffany Haddish experience, we had our own day of food, fun and fellowship. We stopped at Harbor Seafood and Oyster bar on the way back to the airport and had drinks and got Crawfish to go. The crawfish were a little smaller than I expected to get from the motherland of Crawfish, but they were seasoned well and the price was less than anything, I have found in the Houston area this year. I don't think the sausage was andouille sausage, even though I asked the employee if it were before I ordered it and ge said it was. Of course, when I discovered the discrepancy I was back in Texas, and too far away to have them make it right. The restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating in helping me pack up my crawfish securely to make it through the TSA checkpoint and onto my Flight. I would visit again for a casual reasonably priced meal.

Yelp
I just have a brief complaint about the service we were provided with. Our reservation was for 1 pm. We had a total of 15 people in attendance. We had to wait 1 hour before we were seated because the table they had setup for us had a party that would not leave. After a hour they left and we proceeded to help clean the table so we could sit and eat. They came around for any appetizers orders and I asked for some boiled potatoes, figuring they would give them to us as complimentary. Well when I received my check I had a charge of 4 orders of potatoes at $7.95. I was alarmed but didn't say a thing. My fellow diners chipped in $8.00 to cover my charge. I just felt people should know this about this restaurant.

Yelp
This is going to be a short review. Two very thin pieces of catfish. Four small shrimp. A side of tiny potatoes. Little piece of bread. $16.50 And the butter on the french bread was rancid. Won't be back.

Yelp
Had the soft shell crab po boy and fries. Both were great and service was prompt and polite. The loss of 2 stars is for overall cleanliness. Felt a bit dingy and not clean then I saw the roaches in the bathroom and that topped it off for me. If there is one there are many more. I would not return.

Yelp
As we were going on a night out for a bachelor party, we started our night here. Didn't get to go indoors but they have a few tables for outdoor seating where we ate. They have some eye catching menu items for sure, but I decided to go with the oyster poboy and it was amazing. It wasn't overflowing with oysters but they had a decent amount and it was very tasty. I also tried some onion rings and fried calamari from the appetizer sampler and those were both real good. The waitress was patient with us surprisingly given there was 8 men drinking a ton of beer. I would definitely come back and visit this place

Yelp
Dirty and inattentive server is all I can say. I was very much disappointed. The floor, seats, and table were dirty. The food was t hot and the drawn butter for the snow crab legs tasted like melted lard. I've been to this restaurant several times but the quality has definitely gone down.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible. First time I have ever ordered something and sent it back not wanting anything at all. When your best friend is a natural born Cajun, it's tough to compare. Homemade is always better. I'd recommend heading to the French Quarter no matter how long the ride is from Kenner.

Yelp
We had an unexpected stay over in New Orleans area, so of course we went for the New Orleans speciality "Seafood". We started with Harbor Seafood a location that we once frequented many yrs ago. I ordered Gumbo, which is my favorite food, that i love so much, that I learned to cook it myself. But I am afraid this location has lost the meaning of New Orleans gumbo. Apparently the waitress who tried to convince me otherwise (although she was nice)hasn't had real gumbo either. After a disappointing bowl of gumbo at Harbor Seafood, for lunch we were told about Bobby Herbert's for dinner.

Yelp
Harbor Seafood couldn't keep me away when I lived in Kenner! Especially their seafood market, Fisherman's Cove, which is next door. Stuffed mirliton. Harbor potatoes. Crawfish. I've never had a meal I didn't like at Harbor. Everything I've ordered on the menu is good.

Yelp
Chose this on a whim and from a Yelp review on a rainy weekday when my flight was delayed long enough to leave the airport for a meal. 11:30A'ish, seated immediately in this small, cozy location with lots of natural light. Lisa K. was our very perky and attentive server. Gave us time - as newbies - to make some decisions and answer questions. Drinks were served quickly and maintained throughout the meal. Husband opted for Catfish Randolph, which was REALLY tasty. (Think spaghetti sauce - but not exactly - on blackened fish.) I opted for the cup of crawfish etouffee and the fried crab claw app. The etouffee was tasty, though not any more or less than others I've had in the NOLA area. The crab claws, on the other hand, were a very hearty portion and were just as yummy as I remember having years and years ago in the area. No sauce required. Not the cheapest place in town, but comfortable atmosphere, quick service, menu variety and Lisa K. make it 5-star.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch during a work trip and had the blackened catfish with a side of broccoli & coleslaw. Pretty good! Wasn't too spicy so i added some Louisiana hot sauce.

Yelp
Love the harbor for some good seafood and not crazy prices! They have all the oysters you want now including raw and chargrilled which I don't think they always had. The menu is large and has lots of options for everyone. Great appetizers, entrees and boiled seafood. Even their chocolate cake was delicious that we got for my son's birthday. Service was good and quick. I love the addition to the other side and the outside area too. They made that look very cute. It's a good family restaurant and they are always busy!!

Yelp
Food is amazing the service was awesome. I will be returning. The ambience of the place is nice and clean

Yelp
First time here after researching places near MSY and also a coworker recommended. Loved the old school vibe! Food was great and service was fast and friendly! Will definitely be coming back! The seafood gumbo was one of the best I've had in my 14 years of living in South Louisiana!

Yelp
This restaurant was super close to our hotel, and we saw it on yelp and decided to try it sooner the reviews seemed legit. There is a parking lot in the back with a lot of parking and a few spaces up front. I came in because I heard someone say they were on the waitlist for two hours. When I came and put our name on a list, there was an hour wait. We opted to sit at the bar and were taken care of expeditiously! I opted for the half and half with stuffed shrimp and a softshell crab with cheese fries. The stuffed shrimp might be the best I have ever had. The cheese fries had cheese melted on top and not the cheese dip like I like, but they were ok. also got 3 pounds of crawfish and half a dozen charbroiled oysters. The oysters were phenomenal! I did not try the crawfish, but I heard the seasoning was great. As big as the restaurant is, there was not an empty table and they were plenty of people waiting to be seated. The bartender/waitress was awesome and super attentive well taken care of all the walk ups for drinks, and all of us sitting at the bar eating our food. I am super pleased with the service and the food. I would definitely come back. I still need to try the crab claws. I am super pleased with the service and the food.

Yelp
This is a super cute place that is not in the touristy area of NO but only 10 minutes from the airport. I had a catfish Poboy, which was really wonderful. The fish was flaky tasty and not too much oil use to fry it up. The French bread was amazing. I had the soup and sandwich special with the seafood gumbo, which was good. My hubby had the amberjack fish, which was amazing and the harbor seafood potatoes, which had quite a zing. I had a piece of the bourbon pecan pie. Let me tell you you can actually taste that bourbon. It's very sweet and I was happy It was a small slice so I wasn't piling on the calories.

Yelp
Very good seafood here. We came here around 6 or 7pm on a Wednesday. Service was really good and fast. Indoor dining only. blackened alligator- tender, juicy, very good grilled rockefeller oyster- good but heavy raw oysters- good and fresh boiled shrimp- very good flavor and plump seafood gumbo- good crawfish etouffe soup- good fried frog legs- good fried seafood platter (shrimp, fish, etc)- good

Yelp

Yelp
Finally stopped by here for some to-go food. I ordered 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb potatoes, corn, and boiled mushrooms. The shrimp were DELICIOUS. Spicy, juicy, fresh! I'm not even a shrimp fanatic (but was craving them) and, I must say, I enjoyed every bite. They were cooked to perfection. The corn on the cob was pretty good. Sweet and lightly seasoned. I could've used a little bit more seasoning. I wasn't a fan of the boiled mushrooms and potatoes. It was one of those situations where it felt like the seasoning was added AFTER the boil. In other words, I didn't taste the flavor throughout. That was a bit disappointing because I love boiled potatoes and mushrooms. Customer service was excellent! Lydia is a sweetheart. Overall, I'd definitely go back whenever I crave boiled shrimp. For $18, that was also a steal!

Yelp
We came here for dinner with the kids. We got the fried sampler and bowl of ettouffee and gumbo as well. The fried sampler was the best of the bunch. The fried crawfish was the star of the dish. We were sad we didn't get to try more food but the kids were getting tired and we needed to eat quickly and put them to bed.

Yelp
We stopped by as we were passing through town. We knew nothing about this place and just picked it randomly. It was delicious! We ordered catfish basket, seafood combo basket, shrimp & corn chowder, and a Cesar salad. It was all delicious. Our server was Christopher H. and he was friendly and helpful with our questions about menu items. Excellent service!

Melina A.

Yelp
Okay so I want to start of with saying that the crab was literally BLACK! I asked for sausage and she told me "you didn't order that" when I asked for everything next the service was horrible that lady was breathing heavy and all over the food came half cold next she told me I didn't order this and that when everyone at the table heard me order it! That was NOT a seafood boil it was more of a water boil and we asked for melted butter and she gave us whipped butter?

Jack H.

Yelp
Blackened catfish was so good , i fogot to take a photo. Food is consistently good and Heather was terrific.

Yelp
I came here on Tuesday, May 9th for the first time at about 6pm with a party of 11 -- co-workers from my company. We were seated about 5 minutes after arrival. The restaurant got progressively busier by about 7pm, whereas there were no tables available by that time. The hostess was so incredibly sweet and nice. Our server was very nice as well; however, she was definitely on the shy side of things. Our table shared both the Oysters Brochette and the Appetizer Tray, both were very good. I had the Catfish your Way (Blackened) with Hushpuppies. The fish was excellent and those Hushpuppies...my oh my.....delicious. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely return again in the future.

Yelp
I had a very good meal on my first visit. Our waitress was very good, and the atmosphere was comfortable. My husband and I tried: fried crab claws (delicious), onion rings (thick but good), Royal red dinner (delicious, perfectly seasoned) and fried shrimp and crab dinner with hush puppies (very good, fried well). Everything needed a little salt but other than that we were very happy with our meal!

Yelp
This is a hard call for me. I say three stars but I should lean towards 4 Stars. Allow me please. I spent the day in Baton Rouge for business and returned to New Orleans late in the day. After search Yelp for a different restaurant I came across this one. So I'm the type of person. Like most Yelpers I guess, that love to eat and try different things. Well tonight's the night for firsts. Nothing on the menu really jumps out at me so I try the "Swamp Platter". The swamp platter consists of Turtle Soup, frog legs, alligator nuggets, and alligator sausage. Turtle soup, definitely not for me. Lesson learned. Frog Legs. I've had these before, maybe 45 years ago in Florida. I seemed to remember them differently. I expected them to taste like chicken. It was just odd for me. Lesson learnedly. Alligator sausage. Just made me feel strange. I like regular pork sausage but although it looked somewhat like pork sausage, it was not. Lesson learned. Alligator nuggets. Not bad but very small. Last, crayfish Et tufffe. I had this for lunch in Baton Rouge. It was ok but I don't think I would go back for more. Lesson learned. A lot of lessons for me but to be completely honest I chose the meal. No one to blame but me. As for the restaurant, my waitress was fabulous, sincerely attentive. Unfortunately I did I lot of lying and I'm not proud of it. If any of this food is to your liking then I suggest you go there.
google avatar

Yelp
Today's lunch featured the restaurant's fried catfish special and a po-boy. While it was a pleasant experience, it didn't quite reach the level of culinary excellence. Nonetheless, the gracious and attentive service leaves room for optimism. I'll return to explore their menu further, considering its popularity among locals.
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
My dad loves oysters and this is definitely to go. I had crawfish and my husband had turtle soup. All were spectacular. Service is a little spotty but because of the economy during the past 4 years, it is expected. We will be back.

MaryAnn N.

Yelp
Excellent food! We tried the gumbo, etouffee, crawfish poboy, and jambalaya. Would recommend the first three but not the jambalaya. Etouffee was the best I've had! Service was friendly and ambiance was great. Decor was cute, and they had different rooms/areas for seating.

Yelp
Had dinner there tonight after a day-long rainstorm. I saw the reviews and decided to try it anyway. We were greeted somewhat warmly by the older hostess, who handed us off to a sweet young lady who seated us, and shortly after Ariana attended to us politely and took our orders. They were out of Royal Red Shrimp so I ordered the charboiled oysters as an appetizer. They were okay. They were much smaller than the ones we've had recently down in the French Quarter. They weren't char broiled enough so they were oily and the cheese hadn't quite melted the way I expected. Next, I ordered the soft shell crab with onion rings that were an extra $. I must say my basket looked like everything was dunked and deep-fried in the same batter. It was bland. I added salt and pepper but just the taste of the fry was a bit much and made me feel a bit nauseous. There was hardly any meat on my two crabs. Eating more of the crisp fry batter wasn't an option as it kinda grossed me out. My husband had the blackened red fish with the cajun potatoes and that was good. He ate most of the oysters too because I couldn't. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The total bill was $107 for a Coke and two Jack and Sprites ( short).

Yelp
Very slow customer service. When food arrived it was barely warm. I was quite disappointed with experience.

Mapletine B.

Yelp
On a visit from jersey, came here twice in 3 days. Food is the best we had the entire time we were in Louisiana. Both visits we had a different waiter and both visits the service was quick and very pleasant. Clean inside. Environment inside is expected for a seafood boil type of bar, and I wished we lived closer. So so good! (Ordered crawfish, frog legs, soft shell crab, fried oysters, seafood bowl, - couple eat those oysters daily)

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Food was ok, Gumbo was good and the jalapeño hush puppies were great! Service was a little slow. Bread pudding was not that great.
google avatar

Rachelle C.

Yelp
Really good food and friendly service. Been here twice while working in the area and definitely will go again!
google avatar

Quinessa H.

Yelp
One the best places to eat Cajun food on this side of town. The oysters were tasty and so were the potatoes. The shrimp po'boy was okay but the gumbo left something to be desired. It was under seasoned, but I guess I was expecting something more authentic. The steamed crab was okay as well...but I wouldn't rush to order it again. Service was efficient but I had a bug in my 1st drink (Long Island), which was quickly corrected upon bringing it to the bartender attention. Oh poor server was so busy (maybe d/t it being Mardi Gras weekend), i found it easier to get the drink remade on my own & ask for to go boxes from the bar. My main complaint would be how cold it was inside, despite it being 30° outside...maybe the kitchen staff were hot, but I had to keep my coat on the entire time we were there.

Mitzi L.

Yelp
The food is great. Customer service is great too. My favorite is the fried shrimp and catfish. They also have boiled seafood excellent. They will ship to anywhere also for u
google avatar

Scot L.

Yelp
Nice local place. Some unusual offerings like stuffed Mirliton and soft shelled crab po boys...had both! They had daiquiris too but the Island Oasis brand can't hold a candle to Fat Tuesday's. Seemed like everyone in there was a local which says something!
google avatar

Derrick D.

Yelp
We had a layover here flying back from holbox to Houston. The food was delicious and affordable . The vibe was true New Orleans. However the service was AMAZING! Our server Katelyn was incredible!

Benjamin U.

Yelp
Dissapointed with quality of food . Poboy bread was crumbling when I bit on it and the seafood gumbo bowl did not have much content. Also the 1/2 poboy was actually a 1/3 slice
google avatar

Jackson E.

Yelp
Pretty good for general seafood. Wish that the Snow Crab was priced by the pound and not in bundles.

D S.

Yelp
Long standing seafood restaurant in Kenner on Williams Blvd. Great food! Gets very crowded at times. I prefer to go after the lunch rush.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
I love seafood, ITS MY FAVORITE VEGETABLE, LOL. I am originally from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where Middendorfs is a LOVELY TRADITION. Moving to Kenner,LA 5yrs ago and within walking distance from Harbor, YOU DEFINITELY HAVE SOMETHING TO WORRY THE COMPETITION. MY only suggestion, I pray that one day you will expand your establishment again. Thank you for your CONSISTENTLY HAPPY FOOD.
google avatar

C L.

Yelp
We normally eat near the French Quarters but decided to drop by this place for lunch before our flight. The raw oysters $15 dozen, charbroiled $25 dozen. Oysters are fresh and huge. The shrimp boil was good at $11.99 lb to share. This is a no frill NOLA style seafood joint. Not exactly a date place, I actually enjoyed it more than ACME.

Naomi C.

Yelp
Excellent seafood experience. I have the eggplant with CRAWFISH stuffing and cream sauce. I would recommend it to anyone.

Vincent L.

Yelp
Great food and service Shrimp poboy Gumbo is some of the best in the entire city and state

Yelp
This is the place to go in Kenner for sure! My mother has lived in a neighborhood for 50 years and this is the first place we go.

Yelp
Fantastic seafood and great service. We arrived late and they were very welcoming even though they were closing in thirty minutes. We had a large party and it didn't seem to phase them . The service was on point and our entire party seemed happy with the nice menu selection available. Portions are large and the food was cooked correctly. There were 10 in our party and all had different menu items . No complaints from anyone and our waitress handled our tables with aplomb. We had chargrilled and raw oysters for appetizers. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The restaurant is a typical local style seafood place. Ambiance is relaxed and inviting.

Thomas V.

Yelp
We had a large group recently visit Harbor Seafood. This is a good consistent restaurant that serves good fried seafood, great oysters on the half shell, and nice boiled seafood. Our group likes the food and the servers. Our only problem at this restaurant is their bar. It is an attractive bar with the worst service. Most of the time we were there the bartender seemed to find other places to be. We had more than ten people wanting to order beer and other libations, but there was no one to speak to. Bars are a big income producer. Having an attentive bartender increases sales and pays good tips to the server. One star removed because of this lousy bar service.

eric m.

Yelp
A good place to eat in Kenner. They serve Louisiana seafood. The food is delicious and fresh. Friendly staff and knowledgeable.
