Harbour Hotel St Ives

Incredible stay from 18-19 dec. First night away as a treat as new parents pre Christmas and so pleased we stayed here. Can't thank the staff enough- all were so lovely and helpful. Balcony views were amazing over the bay. Super close walk to beach and conveniently close to town. Breakfast was fantastic- we didn't feel the need to upgrade to a paid breakfast. Vegan options were all out without needing to ask- brilliant!! Spa facilities were dreamy. Loved our massages too- we will be back and will be recommending! Thanks so much again and merry Christmas to all!

Lovely hotel with tasteful decor and a nice little spa. My room was clean, comfortable and had good facilities - bathrobe, slippers, nespresso machine, lovely toiletries etc The views from the restaurant are breathtaking. Food was good. Inclusive breakfast is only the continental which wasn’t clear when I booked, cooked breakfast available for an extra £10. The banana bread & lemon muffins were excellent but the normal bread was a bit meh. Service was friendly but a little patchy in the restaurant, but it was Christmas and quite busy. All in all I would stay again.

Having the staff at The Harbour Hotel, St. Ives take care of everything was a brilliant experience. From day one, they made us feel right at home, and nothing was ever off limits. They went above and beyond in planning the day, including the vendors we chose and those they referred us to, and the day itself was orchestrated perfectly.||The hotel itself worked well for the vision Carrie and I had, with its sea views, colours, and friendly atmosphere. A short walk to the beach on the day made the sunset magical, and everyone enjoyed some sandy feet and took a short paddle. Your food was brilliant, and the service from the hotel staff, not just on the wedding day itself but throughout the entire lead-up, was fantastic. ||In everything you did for us, you were meticulous and ensured we considered every detail. This gave us peace of mind on the day, and throughout that, you were fully on top of everything - you’ve done this all before, so you’re the experts!||The hotel rooms are perfect for wedding days, and, of course, they were clean, tidy, and all details were thought of.||We can’t thank you enough for making our special day memorable and one we’ll never forget. We wish we could relive it! 100% recommend you, your team, your hotel, and the location to anyone! We’ll be back soon! It has a special place in our hearts.

We had high hopes of Sunday lunch in the restaurant and were given a lovely table by the window. Our main meal was absolutely delicious and we had planned on having a dessert and coffee, but the service was so bad we ended up leaving and going elsewhere. There were only three other tables taken and we could see the two men were struggling and we ended up clearing our own plates. Other plates were cleared and left on a table as they didn’t seem to have enough time to take them to the kitchen. There was a woman on the computer at the entrance to the restaurant and had she bothered to turn round, she would have seen the waiting staff were struggling and she could have helped. At times like this, she should have helped. Service was extremely slow and my celebration experience was completely ruined. The staff seemed to spend more time in the Kitchen than in the restaurant. I could see people on another table wanted something extra, but had to go without because no one was around….except the woman who did nothing. I love this hotel restaurant and often recommend it, but this visit was disappointing. For the standard of hotel, I expected better.

I stayed at the Hotel as a journalist writing a piece on Christmas in a Hotel for 2026. I had a beautiful first experience with the lovely receptionist, Sophie who let me choose from three rooms. The events manager Nicole bought me and my son dinner outside of the usual times and was so attentive each night. I loved and appreciated Daniel, the breakfast manager and the Hotel is spotless, comfortable with amazing food and a great spa. I had a really bad experience on my last day however which will make it impossible for me to include the Hotel in my feature, or return in the summer like I planned. I caught flu from a guest who was sick around the Hotel and asked for an extra hour to check out. At 12.10 the door was pounded on by a woman with a wet look blonde perm. She spoke to me like I was an inmate in a prison. She told me I was late checking out and to get out now. I was so stressed I broke my necklace and had to spend time searching for the beads. At this point and ten min later she burst in and gasped at my handbag contents on the bed and yelled, “You’ve trashed the room.” She then exited slamming the door. My son was shaken and incredibly angry. It completely ruined the good experience of the Hotel. I won’t be back, which is a shame; but to be talked to in such an ugly manner when you are relaxed is disgusting. I hope this is seen by the owners because there are staff such as Sophie, Nicole and Daniel putting in great effort to make sure people are happy then their hard work is ruined by this individual.

Beautifully located. Exceptional staff, great cocktails & a very nice breakfast. We had a ground floor room, comfy beds & very clean. Our only gripe was a very cold bathroom, but we were recompensed as soon as we mentioned it - I expect this was simply an oversight by housekeeping forgetting to leave the radiator on. Oversights happen, it wasn't a big deal.||I'd maybe suggest asking for a higher floor room to avoid the early morning delivery noises - but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. |It is a shame I cannot say something good about the room. It was very small. You could barely open the fridge door. The wardrobe door would barely open due to the proximity of the bedside table. The bathroom and particularly the shower was very small, luckily I am very slim. Anyone of larger proportions would struggle to get a decent shower. In such a small shower room, however, the toilet roll holder is located far enough away that you could not reach it from the toilet. We paid extra to have our dog accompany us but we found it difficult to find somewhere for the dog basket. The room was not big enough for 2 adults and a dog – you couldn’t swing a cat in there! The shutters did not fully close and the bedroom was illuminated from the deck below. ||It is a shame the cooked breakfast comes at an extra cost. It seems a little bit like penny pinching when a small room costs £165 a night.. ||Although we had a lovely time in St Ives we would not visit the Harbour Hotel again.

Stayed here a few times and it's such a gorgeous place! The staff are friendly, the food is great and the views are stunning. Somewhere I can just relax and unwind. The rooms are nice and clean and tidy and the amenities are all just what is required to keep you busy should you want. Only a short walk into St. Ives for all the nice pubs and restaurants too.
