This place place should close in the evening. Instead, they take all of their food off the heated serving line. Take the food in the back. From there, they serve you cold southern comfort food!!!! Who wants cold greens, cold macaroni & cheese, cold beef tips & rice!!! This experience was almost digusting. I know I was completely disappointed!!This was a miserable representation of great Dallas family dining legacy!!! The prices far exceed the value of the meal!!! (I knew their price were too high the first time I came.) This was my second visit. I recommend you drive down the road to "Sweet Georgia Brown" for better food and better value for the dollar for great southern comfort food!!!! Much love!!!

I tried it again after i got 3 puny salty oxtails lasy yr and it's time they close down cuz what is this? I cant even eat the brisket..chewed so much my head hurt and it taste like dry cardboard. the yams taste like sweet potato pie, the mac taste like processed cheese, the greens are a disgrace. I was all excited that I got 2 pieces of cornbread and its dry cornmeal & half of it is so hard it not edible. Just close down. y'all had a good run but it's just not it anymore. The young lady working the front was so sweet but I should have known something was up when I ask if something was spicy or the cornbread was sweet and she didnt know cuz she hadn't tasted anything.

Got a chance to come in & was excited to try this place out. It's a hole in the wall, but that doesn't mean anything. We got our food & it was just ok. I paid for a red velvet cake too. I asked her if she or it in the bag & she assured me that she had. I get to my destination & find that the cake isn't in there. SMH I won't be back.

This is why you have to read reviews. I’m not even sure when the decline of Hardeman’s started but out on a limb I tried and ewwwyuckkkk. Who boiled this brisket and then stuck on top of some fire, did you even clean it no seasoning no taste not even of a bit of being smoked. Greens taste like they came straight from the ground, no meat, no seasoning againnnn. That broccoli cheese casserole overcooked everything mushy… let me not say anything about the cornbread which is just cornmeal

Been coming here for years for the loaded baked potato and the quality and taste has declined. The potato uses to be loaded with every single ingredient, falling off the potato. Not anymore. Although it’s still very good, it’s not the same. The rest of the food like ribs and sides are also JUST OK.

Who charges for pickles and onions? First bbq place I've seen do that. Just go to Hutchins. Hutchins at least has free desert... banana pudding and ice cream.

The slice beef sandwich that I ordered was extremely tough and barely even warm and I went at 12:00 lunch time so I figured it would be at least a fresh batch, this is the second time that I went up there and have had terrible food I will not be going up there again especially for the prices they're charging for the food is extremely high but the quality is even worse I used to love hardeman's about 5 years ago now it's just went downhill completely

Went by yesterday and got soulfood. Beef tips/rice, collar greens, black-eye peas and corn bread. Food was good and service was great.

Eh, ok, good, not great 3.5/5 Oxtails: Excellent Mac-n-cheese: okay, but wouldn't order again Greens: cooked to perfection and slightly under seasoned. Customer service from the lady handling the line was dry & cold. This is a consistent problem @ bob's unfortunately. I get it, it's hard dealing with the public but you chose that career path. This was a 45 min drive - I'd return if I was in the area but not good enough to drive 90 min round trip

Came to get some food and there hours are till 9 pm however when walking in the building and being seen by 2 of the employees in the store, one eventually came out and asked "how can I help you" when I asked for a side of greens, I got a shake of the head and was told they didn't have any. When I asked about their hours on google being until 9 I was told they were" closing early today at 8 pm. However it wasn't even 8 when I went it and still 45 minutes left until 8. Will definitely never be coming back to this "bbq restaurant" due to lack of customer service and unable to get food during open business hours while front door was still unlocked.

Ordered incorrect food. Menu was not clear. Called store but they just didn't care. Food was okay.

Greeted by a nice young man and the food was good, I will visit again. Several choices and veggies to choose

I stopped in last night, 08/25/2024, and ordered East Texas links, a pound of links, and a pound of ribs, which cost just under $60.00/%59. something. HORRID... I have fond memories of the Hardemans in south Dallas on MLK, which used to be in a KFC building back in the day. What I was served was terrible, dried out east Texas links, they didn't have links so I was offered a change to sausage, and I accepted, the sausage was warmed up and covered in sauce, like pulled from the fridge and warmed up, ribs where dry and crusty top some tender pieces if you could get through that crust, also just drenched in sauce, I have had better sauce from kraft. NEVER going back even for free. I had fond memories of the name.

Went there yesterday for lunch/dinner with my daughter and best friend and it was a great experience!! The service was awesome and the food was good!!! Will definitely go back!

I can say they have good soul food and the best peach cobbler ever! When Lisa's line is long and I want some soul food I come here! Even their price is higher than Lisa's I still come yo grab a plate and peach cobbler to go! Don't get me wrong this my second option because I live near the other restaurant, this one is just a farther drive down for me.

Went to support black owned business that was my mistake I will never go back to another barbecue again I bought food from there and the food wasn't cold it was cold and uncooked I don't get sick I learned a lesson I will never go that location again and I didn't mean that

$62 for this crap on 4 of July never again they sent this thru DoorDash sauce on the side small portion

This is what they consider an "order" of ribs. They're old, dry, hard and crusty. And they charged me 24.99 + tax for THIS! Do not waste your money at this place. I grew up eating Hardeman's BBQ and use to love it. This is not the first time I was dissatisfied with their food recently but this is my first review. This food deserves ZERO stars. It's absolute trash. I will never spend my coins here again!

Idk why I even played myself like that! This was the worst bbq I've ever had in my life. Straight malarkey! They might as well close down. I gagged immediately after tasting it and at this moment I'm extremely nauseous. This cant be the same Hardeman's my parents use to eat at!!! I do not recommend. Please consider starting over from scratch or closing down permanently. What is even happening in the kitchen? Who is the cook!? Highly disappointed

Friendly staff and great food! We got the sliced brisket and hot link sandwich. It did not disappoint. 10/10

Stop by and give it a try!!! The bbq wasn't bad, collard greens, and yams were delicious, had me licking my fingers!!! Not so big on the barbecue sauce and sausage... The sauce was a little to watery for me, and the sausage tasted like I could have just went to Kroger's and cooked it myself. The service was good, she bet me, I would love their peach cobbler, and I DID!!! I was telling her about the City Market in Lulling TX.. If y'all ever get a chance get down there and try some of their bbq and sauce!!!

Nice staff and ambiance was decent, but overpriced, and the food was not good at all. Everything seemed to be just sitting in heat pans. The rib sandwich, I had joked with my friend that they'd leave the bones in the sandwich and they actually did lol. Ribs had little flavor and just little barbecue sauce used to begin with. My friend, he got the craps.

I'd give them a ZERO ,but this place is a rip OFF Went by this place near my neighborhood and the price for a rib was $17 dollars,no corn bread,just sorry,I know things cost more these days,but a value No,more of disappointment,the price for what I received is enough I can't support this black owned business,don't take us for granted,NEVER again.,.. I hope you change your busy practices and give the community a value,other wise I will go to another establishment papaduex for example up your game...

Food was gross! Nothing but fat on my potatoe. Should have went the extra mile to Daves BBQ on Gannon. I called to let her know that it was hardly any meat on the potatoe only fat. She told me to bring it back and she would replace it. Got up here and she said there is no meat on it....DUH that was my original complaint. Even tho it's right by my house I won't eat here. Bypass and go else where.

Absolutely yummy bbq sandwich. The large BBQ sandwich weighs a ton... normally that amount of meat would be two meals for me but it was so darn good I ate it all in one go! Perfection. We decided to try all the desserts (don't judge!) and I am so glad we did. This is the real deal. Everything we had there was outstanding and the people there are absolutely lovely. It's a local icon for southern / bbq / soul food and it's like a little bit of heaven beaming out from a modest little place in a strip mall that you'd drive past if you didn't know it was there.

Chopped Beef lunch sandwich special $7.99 includes two sides of your choice. The staff and chef are very kind and creative. They ensure 100% quality and satisfaction. Don't let the exterior of the restaurant fool you. It may be a "hole in the wall" but their BBQ is fantastic.

I ordered the fish dinner and everything was either hot or warm but my fish was COLD so I know they gave me some old fish probably from the day before! The rice and bean were very good the yams were straight out of the can. The cornbread was ok. So I will not be ordering from this place again.

I was stunned--this was the best BBQ I've had ever. The ribs were amazing, and the sauce was so unique and flavorful. Each bite felt new and made me say WOW all over again. The yellow squash and collard greens sides were also so yummy. They tasted healthy but didn't skimp on the flavor. Very nice staff as well! Just an overall great chill lunch stop!

The first time was the best time. I ordered the baked potato with East Texas Hot Links and was in little piggy heaven. I thought I would branch out and try the meat plate. Once again, ET hot links by my two sides left me heartbroken. The potato salad was obviously purchased from the deli section at the local grocery store, powdery texture and just nasty. The green beans were straight from the can, cold and not even a pinch of seasoning. Come on now! I'll get those links all day but I'll leave the rest behind.

My friend and I went to Hardemans because the place we go to is closed. I was hesitant at first from the look of the food sitting in the silver dishes by the register, but we decided to try it anyway. I ordered the sausage sand which plate with fries and potato salad, a 3/4lb order of hot links, and a slice of chocolate cake (I never can resist sweets) when I got home and opened everything up I could already tell how disappointed I'd be. The fries were soggy and undercooked, the potato salad just tasted like mustard and onions and was the consistency of thick pudding, and the sausage lacked flavor. Hot dogs have more flavor. The hot links were decent when smothered in BBQ sauce but only came with one container for a 3/4lb order of hot links. At least I had the cake...

Disappointing sloppy microwaved reheated chopped beef sandwich. Sauce is just ok to me. Couldn't enjoy the Sandwich because it was to much sauce and the bread just gave up. Meat not very smokey. Taste boiled. Though at first I would try a plate lunch, but vegetables look like they all came from a can. And one of the meats were obviously not tended too because it was all dried up to where I couldn't recognize it. Peach cobbler looked burned. Lady that came behind me looked at the food and turned around and left. Wish I had done the same thing. Lesson learned.

A buddy and I were In the area and after a long day of work we went out for a bite to eat and came upon this place, figured that it would be very delicious BBQ judging by its other location, I was wrong, I almost felt like I was in my old elementary schools lunch, I felt rushed and attended us with what I can describe as bad service, my sandwich seemed microwaved and dry, as I bit into it I questioned myself if I should even eat this, long story short, only go here if it's your only option and don't care about what you eat.

I decided to try this soul food restaurant out on yesterday after church and the meal came to a grand total of $40.00,however I didn't think of anything at the time but when I made it home and looked at the the receipt I noticed that it only had the price $40.00 listed and nothing else. I was looking for items that we had purchased to be listed individually with the amount plus taxes but it was not on the receipt. One senior plate lunch was listed on the board I saw for $7.99 and we purchased that then one one Sunday Dinner Plate with one meat and two vegetables was listed for $12.99 then Peach Cobbler I think it was $3.50 for a small with a small side of mac and cheese at $3.00 and something as well as small side of yams for $3.00 and something,but if the prices would have been listed on my receipt at the time of purchase I would not be second guessing how much our dinner cost. Well I will be giving them a call on Tuesday to discuss the matter due to the fact their closed on Monday. I should have been paying attention . I always try to support black owned business,but something is telling me that we were catastrophically over charged and this was my first and definitely my last visit there!!!! #UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

Great BBQ friendly staff and great convent location near my house - I try and stop there at least once a month to get my Chopped Beef sandwich fix this is a true Dallas BBQ classic not one of those crappy chain BBQ joints that never get it right.

Excellent food and great people. We had a group of 7 and all enjoyed. I had the sliced beef, sausage, cabbage, and collard greens. Oh and the corn bread and peach cobbler. Yum yum yum

Good size portions, good prices, family style BBQ and soul food. Sides could be warmer.

This is pretty bad. The meat is tough ad fatty. We couldn't eat much of it because it was not good. Very over priced as well. Most really good BBQ isn't as expensive as this place. Coleslaw tasted like mayonnaise and the potato salad tasted store bought. Just really don't recommend this place.

Really good BBQ. My favorite is the sausage, but it's all great. They also have some of the best peach cobbler around.

Had the baked potato with chopped beef! Was good but was drowned in BBQ sauce other than the excessive sauce I liked it!

If was the driest chicken we have ever had, very disappointed!!!!! We did take out and only live max 5 blocks away. Do not plan on going back.

I live in the neighborhood and my favorite catfish place was closed, so I decided to give this a dry. I was disappointed. I had the sliced beef sandwich with fries and potato salad. The sandwich was actually pretty good. The potato salad and fries, not so much. Now I know you're thinking the same thing I am. How can you screw up fries? You don't cook them all the way, that's how. They were way undercooked. Like potato is not soft undercooked. The potato salad tasted like it came from the Walmart deli. Gross. Also got an order of hot links, which were decent. I would possibly go back for the meat, but will steer clear of all of the sides.
