One of Tulsa’s oldest burger names lives on in a quirky setting inside Mathis Home. Tulsa World’s 2024 roundup flags its 1939 roots and a menu of flat‑top burgers with hand‑cut fries.

I have this deal with Mathis brothers where you get a credit every month to eat there. The first day we ate the the owner was there and in a great mood and very helpful . Got our meal credit and food was great. The next month he wasn't there . There was a qr code set up where I followed the instructions and they said I redeemed already which I didn't. To be clear , I was polite but the people there were inattentive. I came in today and it took awhile for someone to come to the counter at 10:30 when I started to order , I followed the prompts from the qr code then as I was told to hit redeem . The manager I guess who was mopping at the time said I already redeemed my credit and I said I just did it. . They usually right down the customer number for there records and I told them I haven't been in in over a month. There was a little language barrier. When I talked to the owner he originally said he was happy that mathis brothers does that because it's guaranteed money when someone comes in. The employees apparently don't feel that way.

Now who would have thought, that you could get a good hamburger and fries inside of the Mattress Brothers furniture store. My wife summed up the meal and wrote the review with one short sentence. As she wadded up her napkin and threw it in the empty burger basket she said, “That was a damn good burger!” My opinion, the burgers and fries at Harden’s are as good or better than most offered in Tulsa. Better than many I have had, that were rated as the best in Tulsa. (Excluding charburgers, charburgers are a different animal) We had cheeseburgers and the homemade fries. Big juicy patties flawlessly cooked on the flat top. The fries were perfect. Most restaurants don’t prep their potatoes properly for homemade fries. The result, within minutes after serving you end up with a soggy, limp greasy fry. Harden’s does it right. The large thick lightly coated fries stay crisp. The crunchy patches of potato skin add flavor to the already excellent potato sticks. The furnishings of the restaurant are immaculate and expansive. The styling is extensive and varied, ranging from contemporary to relaxed modern. Decorative art, colorful floor coverings, attractive lamps and vases complement the furniture. Grab your burger basket and drink, wander around until you find a comfortable couch or recliner. If you like to eat in bed, they are available. Whatever you like, put your feet up kick back and enjoy the meal!! Little off the road if you are not already at Mathis Bros. Quick service.

Great place to eat when shopping for furniture. Just good old fashion burgers and fries. Sometimes that is the best.

Google
Outstanding Burgers going on at Hardens! Hardens has been in business since 1939. Trust me, they know how to make a great burger! Their Sheridan location is probably my favorite. I try to stop by every time I am in the neighborhood.

It took about an hour to get our food. Guess they’re only cooking one burger at a time while trying to serve both in person AND DoorDash. Seems inefficient to me. I’d consider not trying to do DoorDash if you can’t even serve your in person customers?

Google
I know it sounds strange going to a furniture store for a burger. But hear me out first. Harden's Hamburgers is hiding in the corner of Mathis Brothers' furniture. It's the same Harden's that used to be over by 11th and Sheridan.

As a Chicago native who’s been DYING to find a hot dog joint after moving to Tulsa, I think I found it.

Yelp
I came here expecting to love these burgers. We will give them another try and maybe we will have a better experience, but I cannot give Harden's 5 stars based on today's experience. Dan got the Mathis burger, which is a mixture of sausage and ground beef with jalapeños, fried onions, and cheese. I got the bacon cheese burger, and we ordered home made fries to split. About 15 minutes after we ordered, they told us they were out of homemade fries, so we got curly fries instead. The food wasn't bad but just not wonderful as I expected. The service wasn't bad but we did have to stand at the counter awhile before they could take our order. They told us they were out of homemade fries at least 15 after we placed the order, and they took our order to the wrong table. Shortly after we started eating, we heard someone else order homemade fries. I don't know if they got more homemade fries in that short amount of time or if that man had the same experience we did. The decor was unique. The restaurant is set off from the furniture store with a row of chairs, which customers can sit on if the tables are full. I enjoyed glancing at the furniture and wondering if we might want to do some redecorating. Something we really liked were the prices. Restaurant prices have skyrocketed this year. Not only are the burgers priced right, but they serve breakfast at last year's prices. I'm tired of paying around $15 for bacon, eggs, and toast. Next time we want to go out for breakfast, we are going to try Hardens. I'm bumping the review up from 3 stars to 4 just because of the price. It's a good value.

Yelp
Just read about this place in the Tulsa World this morning. Originally a drive in at 4th and Sheridan it's now located in a furniture store, Mathis Home. Basically burgers and breakfast. I ordered the Mathis Burger, a sausage burger with jalapeños, fried onions and cheese. Spouse ordered a bacon cheeseburger. We ordered their signature homemade fries to share. Service was rather slow. About 20 minutes after we ordered someone from the kitchen who couldn't speak English came to our table and tried to communicate something about our order. An apparently bi-lingual employee told me that they were out of the homemade fries. We reluctantly agreed to take the curly fries but then spouse changed her mind and asked for tots instead. About 10 minutes later our food arrived, hers with tots and mine with curly fries. My burger was pretty good. I could really taste the sausage in it. The onions and jalapeños added a nice kick. Oddly, while we were eating, another customer ordered the homemade fries and got them. Puzzling. I'll definitely give it another shot. Their breakfast menu looks pretty good and prices are reasonable. If I could I'd bump it up to 3&1/2 stars.

Yelp
I ordered this again and wanted to give an update. I ordered the same mushroom burger, this time with mozzarella cheese and a fried egg. I ordered the homemade fries again as well. Everything tasted fantastic. It might have been the best burger I've had in a long time, and the fries were much more flavorful than they were last time. Absolutely delicious.

Yelp
hardens in name only!!! the have no clue how to make a hamburger!!!! they grilled the cold dry bun on the outside, i guess they like hard buns in other countries!!! the fixings were piled in the center and covered in mustard, the meat was very cheap quality!!! the fries were burned and smelled worst!!!! the absolutely worst meal i have had in years!!!! they have no idea how to cook burgers and fries in the good old us!!!!

Yelp
For being the only burger place in this area (21st/145th), this is a great spot. Their homemade fries are one of the best things on the menu, and the jalapeno poppers are great too. If you sign up for their loyalty program, you get your first order of them free! The burgers are decent, and they also have plenty of other items to choose from, including quesadillas, and breakfast food. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and quick. You don't have to work at the old Eastland Mall to enjoy this place, so pop in sometime if you're nearby.

Yelp
Still one of Tulsa's best. Definitely worth the visit. Burger perfectly seasoned. A+ for presentation. Curly Fries on point

Yelp
Harden's have been in business in the Tulsa area since the late 30's. And this food will remind you of Grandma's food. A great throwback meal that is definitely one of the best burgers Tulsa has ever seen.
