Harissa Restaurant

The only French-Tunisan restaurant in Los Angeles by the chef who made the famous pretzel challah, Alain Cohen. Refined by his Parisian restaurant experience and inspired by fresh California products, the newly named place has a charcuterie board, seafood board, street sampler plate and my absolute favorite of all time, the incomparable Tunisian Sandwich in mini and sandwich format and deconstructed -- good and bad news is that you still get the irresistible focaccia bread with it.. it and the challah are irresistible. I LOVE the breik (like a gossamer crepe with an egg inside), the Tunisian and Moroccan macaron, along with the classic (no dairy because this is meat kosher restaurant)... service is good, the place is homely. Free parking in the wells-Fargo lot across the street after 6 pm. And they have the best list of kosher wines now too.

Same peope behind Harissa right by, which I think they told me they'd reopen in a month or so for a more sitdown experience. Very friendly mom and pop place that has a lot of American Western style foods, but serves great Tunisian North African if you're looking to try. I had the fricassé tuna mini sandwich and the bread was soft, chewy, and crunchy on the outside. Then I got the olive and lemon chicken tagine with couscous. The stew was great, on the verge of being a little too salty, but mostly on point. Portion is really big with two chicken legs: one was perfectly tender, being able to tear it off with my spoon, the other was slightly tougher and drier. Price is reasonable given the location in the Westside and portion sizing. I'd love to come back and try the other dishes.

" I have traveled the world many times ( some of you know this ) I speak several languages and always immerse myself in the culinary specialties of every country I visit , from the tip of Portugal ( Cascais ) to wondrous North African delights or Germanic specialties , I remain well versed and trust me when I say , " Harissa restaurant in Los Angeles is for everyone of all ages , all recipes are original family recipes , undeniably delicious and Interesting with spices that compliment every dish in perfect fashion and careful attention to perfection by the very friendly owner of Harissa , Alain" I was fortunate to meet Alain ( the owner ) as he is always well engaged in making certain all dishes are leaving the kitchen correctly and that all patrons are pleased as does his wonderful staff. This is a small cozy little restaurant , unassuming and very welcoming . Many of the dishes I sampled I had experienced in the country of origin in North Africa ( Tunisia ) and I was amazed how Incredibly delicious and exciting the menu of Harissa is , remaining true to the recipe of origin ....but even better ! I would strongly recommend everyone visit this wonderful discovery , couples, family or just friends , no matter what your culture or your religion , this is a definite ' MUST VISIT ' destination without a doubt enjoy ~

If you like Tunisian food this is the place for you. There is also great food for every taste. Everything is fresh and delicious. And their pretzel challah is to die for. Excellent kosher food in a central Pico location.

I like that they have deli and dinner options, what I liked about there take out was the soups and I'm a huge fan of baba ghanoush and hummus.. they had a good one there, very tasty food. Not to mention they are kosher. So that's wonderful. Highly recommended, dont sleep on this place yummy

I still think my mom's couscous is the best

After an ordeal with UberEats that Uber refused to handle at all, a manger called me to apologies and fix Ubers wrongdoing. Very happy with their customer service and always been a fan of their food.

This place is the worst! The service is so bad. The staff is so impolite and inconsiderate. I don’t know how they manage to stay open. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! We ordered two items, after almost 1 hr they came back with the wrong dishes! Do yourself a favor and skip!!
