Harlan's Barbecue & Catering, LLC

In May I attended a wedding catered by Harlan's Barbecue and Catering company. The food selection was fantastic. The chicken and ribs were absolutely delicious and the mac and cheese was the best I'd ever had. The staff of Harlan's was very attentive to the buffet and so nice. During the reception, I went back to the kitchen and spoke with the young lady who said she is the daughter of the founder of Harlan's. I gave high praise and compliments for the food that was served. She was so sweet and gave me a bottle of the Harlan's bbq seasoning. (I'm using it tonight with my baby back ribs!) There is one other thing I want to say. If a person rates a company 1 star not on the quality of the product of a food company, but because she had trouble reaching them...that is unfair. And I say that as a service business owner. Keep persisting in reaching out. Harlan's BBQ and catering is 87 miles from my home so I can't use them for parties, but you folks who live in the areas they can serve, you really need to consider Harlan's because the food and the experience is just that good!

I can only say, there is NO BETTER barbeque chicken than Harlan's! It is always moist, never dry, and the flavor is a solid "10". I first enjoyed Harlan's at a school fair in Fostoria back in the 60's. When my kids got into school I became the PTA president and had Harlan's do our school fairs. Harlan's also served their chicken meals at booster benefits and pre-games for football at Fostoria High School. I only wish we could have Harlan's down here in South Carolina, where we moved to back in 2004.

Amazing food and customer service! Super easy to work with for any catering event. Had them for my wedding and everyone loved it so much we turned around and asked them to our fire department fundraiser! Nicole made sure everything was taken care ahead of schedule, calmed all my fears, and even followed up with me after the wedding! The staff the day of was so kind and we didn't have a single complaint about the food! I would highly recommend Harlan's! We even had a couple special requests that they handled like it was nothing!

Great Food and wonderful customer service! Nicole was great to work with hammering out all the details for my daughter’s wedding. They lined up servers to serve our main table and the kids did a very professional job, very impressive! That day everything was just as ordered, delicious and on time leaving me with absolutely no stress and incredibly happy and full guests 😊 Highly recommend for any event!

Did not answer any calls throughout the week during business hours and failed to respond back to emails.

They catered my sons graduation party and did a great job!

They Catered an event I went to this past weekend. About half of my group, including myself, got violently Ill with food poisoning. It wouldn't be as bad, but this is the second time this had had happened.

At first when I called this company to set up my wedding catering they were very nice and responsive. After the contract was signed and deposit was paid they could have cared less about serving me. My fiance and I RSVP'd to attend the next tasting, but when that day came no one was there! We drove 40 minutes out of our way to attend and when no one was there I emailed them and never received a response. I emailed many more times to see when the next tasting would be with no response back and left voicemails! Finally I asked my finance to try his luck in getting ahold of them and getting information. He emailed, sent a message on Facebook and left a voicemail and finally we got a response. They didn't have a tasting set up and stated they would notify us when they did. Over a week went by without hearing from them. Finally I called and spoke with the owner who was very rude and raised his voice at me several times when I was simply asking questions and telling home about the lack of communication. He then proceeded to make excuses of why the tasting was cancelled and inform me they had serves the president 4 times. After that phone call I decided I was done with this poorly ran business since I didn't feel like I could trust them to deliver on the day of my wedding. My fiance emailed after hearing about my phone call and he received a short email back that stated deposits are nonrefundable and best wishes. So now we're out $250 when we did everything we could to work with this company with zero cooperation back and this company essentially breaking the contract as they didn't provide any type of service to us.
